Dawn and James we a uniquely fun couple to work with!

From just looking at their wedding this was going to be one for the books.  Dawn and James knew they didn’t want to have this fairy tale white wedding.  Instead they were planning to wed on Mischief Night, October 30th and have a Gothic Halloween Themed celebration. 

From the hand carved pumpkin centerpieces to the staff wearing skeleton gloves, no detail went unnoticed. Deep red roses filled the space with hints of dark greenery and black which went perfectly with her custom designed wedding gown. 

And for the final touch, guests were treated to their own Candy Bar in honor of Halloween Weekend!

Frozen

Aashirya is one of the cutest 4 year old princesses I have ever met.  I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but the Frozen themed parties have been quite big over the past year or so and this day was no different.

Aashirya’s frozen theme included a custom made frozen cake and specialty desserts ordered from Etsy.com. Milestone Occasions, also custom made cake pops, pretzels, marshmallows and a few other special desserts. 

Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post was turned into our “adults sauna and bar” area where the adults could enjoy their evening while a surprise guest of Anna and Elsa attended the party to entertain the children. 

A small craft room was set up with a bunch of Frozen themed activities for the children and as the night wound down, we did a Frozen movie viewing. 

Although Aashirya is only 4 years old we know she will never forget the day she got to meet two Disney Princesses and enjoyed a Frozen filled day with all of her friends and family.

The big FIVE-OH!

One of our very first events was a close family friends 50th Birthday Party. Keith has been a family friend to my family for almost 20 years and when he asked me to help out with his big day there was no way I could say no!

Keith’s 50th birthday was held at his house on a lake on a rainy Saturday afternoon in mid-September, 2014. We had a live musician who played all through the storm (thank goodness for the tent!) and friends and family really didn’t mind the weather. 

Keith’s big idea for his party, being that we were on the water, was to do a lobster bake. We had over 75 lobsters cooking all afternoon and Keith personally cracked and served all of his friends. He said “it was a gift to get to see all of his friends even if it was just for a few seconds in line”. Specialty items also included a small buffet for the kids, and a roasted pig on a spit!

The highlight of the night was when all of guests threw on their new colorful sunglasses and sang the song “Happy” by Pharrell Williams as a surprise for Keith. 

Even with the added difficulty of the rain at an outdoor party, this is one event we will never forget!
