so, i'm currently watching the bear and i just started season 3 (i know i'm late for the party) but allow me to rant about it, ye?

3x1 it's really really something. it felt funky at first but then i understood what it was trying to do (translate carmy's confusion as he thinks about how he ended up there) and i just enjoyed what i was seeing.

anyways!!

what i wanted to point out is this: sdy and carmy felt each other before they even met one another, like destiny type of shit.

in this moment, he feels something. he looks at the other dishes and he feels that something is missing. he feels inspiration without even knowing her.

and he does something special. something for her.

and he knows it too, althought he doesn't undestand it. he feels that something just... felt right, that moment.

and then, there's sydney.

and she's immediately she's taken aback by it.

and she feels it too. that something just happened. something just took place in her life.

and without they knowing it, their lives connected that moment.

i think the wicked fandom as a whole discounts fiyeraba far too much in favor of gelphie.

this isn’t to hate on gelphie at all, i personally don’t ship them and i hc glinda as aromantic, but i respect the ship and i see where people are coming from. however, said people (from what i’ve seen) tend to ignore all of what makes fiyeraba so good and ship gelphie instead.

fiyero, the prince, chose elphaba over everything. his status, glinda, etc., all for this green-skinned girl who the wizard and everyone else is framing as a villain. who he never looked at any differently because of her skin color, who he never saw as anything but who she was.

glinda does love elphaba, but she would never sacrifice all that fiyero did. glinda cares too much about how other people see her to be able to choose elphaba, which is why they never would have worked. their priorities are far too different, but fiyero fits with elphaba perfectly.

I'm really considering writing an original fiction book that originally started as a fanfic idea. I think my AU ideas for this property have strayed so far from the source material that it feels like it could be more worth it as a story on its own. Just in the research stage, but this will be interesting to see how difficult it will be to get farther removed from the source material. I imagine very lol.

In retrospect, one thing I kinda like in ATLA is how Zuko never tells the gaang how he got his scar.

It would have been cool to see their reactions to Zuko's story and see how their perspective on Zuko changed. And I have no doubt that he tells them about it at some point. But this way, it doesn't come off as emotional blackmail, with him trying to paint his actions as 'Yes, I hunted you across the world, but I actually had a really good reason."

If he did, he might have had a better chance of joining the Gaang, but he doesn't. In traditional Zuko fashion, he takes the most challenging route possible.

Zuko takes full accountability for his actions, even though they came from a place where he felt he had no choice. Because at the end of the day, he realized that even though his father put him on his avatar's path, he was the one who zealously attacked them at every opportunity. He isn't letting himself off the hook for anything.

Imagine meeting someone for a job and at first you clash and it's difficult, but it's undeniable that as professionals you're on the same wavelength and that fact ends up bridging your differences. You get to know each other, they start being vulnerable with you when you know by now they're not showing that side of themselves to anyone else and it's kind of crazy how quickly they become the center of your life, both personal and professional. The relationship remains tumultuous but it also works, because you get each other so deeply and challenge each other so precisely that it makes you both better as individuals and better at your jobs. Not even a year of knowing each other and you know they're It for you, because nobody else has ever made you feel the way they do and it's pretty clear this relationship is so specific to the both of you that you could never replicate its shadow with someone else. For you it's pure joy, it's the end of a debilitatingly lonely life, it's a kind of love you could never have imagined yourself being a part of.

And for them it's the worst thing that's happened to them since the first time it happened to them with someone else.
