Hey Everyone!

So after many weeks of work, another jurney comes to an end I have finished the Gnome diorama aka "10th Gnomish Annual Judgement Festival"! (it was supposed to be much higher number written in roman numerals, but i thought it would be a pain to read, so i simplified it to 10).

Short story behid it: once a year Gnomes gather at this festival to judge any unfortunate creature they think deserves to be judged! This time - a tall fellow, who could probably crush all of them, but instead stands there cunfused what the heck is going on My main focus was to show eye, and gesture interaction between models, and as there are many of those, i will divide final photos in three separate posts - hope that You will forgive me about this spam.

All Gnome models are from Blacksmith Miniatures who i'd like to thank for sending some of them, tall fellow is converted giant from Games Workshop.I wanted to create a bit different mood than usual - so a bit less gore and darkness, and a bit more of merry mood, and color palette - hope that You will like the end result Tomorrow i'll start my project for Golden Demon.

 I'm already 3 weeks late so please expect more WIP's incoming from me, and a fight between good and evil take care and see You soon!

Hey Everyone!Here are some WIP's of C'tan's base. I wanted to create a bit "cosmic" feeling to it, with that red lightning being a focal point, as i want C'tan, to hold red colored lightning in his hand - it will make more sense, when i will add him to the scene.C'tan himself will be painted with TMM, and i don't plan to paint him in the eye candy style, as the base is, i want the base to be a background for him.

Hope You had a fine holidays!My first post this year will be C'tan - i have finished building his base aka Eternity Gate, and roughly primed him (mostly i wanted to airbrush lightning with white, the rest is less important, but i didn't want to leave it totally black, as nothing would be visible).So now it's time to grab some brushes and start painting!:)take care and see You soon!Paul

You do amazing work! I just found you today but your dioramas and miniatures are amazing. I've only just started painting/playing WH40k in january this year so its inspiring to see what others can do. How do you get through art blocks or moments where you're unsure of your color scheme/design process?

Greetings! Glad that You like my work - many thanks! :) Even after many years there are moments when i do not know what i want to do with the model. Usually i do, but sometimes i need a help from some references in photos/artworks/artbooks before. So if You don’t own a big library of albums, You can google what You are interested in - it don’t have to be miniature related too. So look for some interesting photos, with nice lighting, study how color behaves on highlights and in shadows, and how light bounces from surfaces. You can of course start with the simple color wheel, but You dont have to use opposite, contrast colors on every work, monochromatic looks good too. But WH40k concept artists made tons of amazing artworks, so it’s always a good place to start if You are looking for some specific chapter colors. It also helps to check them out, as usually there are some explosions, or lights reflecting from those, so it’s a good place to learn how to mix colors.

Hello Everyone!Here are the final photos of Custodes Shield Captain on bike.It appears, that this theme will return in some time, so hopefully You will see more of those flaming Custodes in around 3 months.

Hey Everyone!

Here are some WIP shots of Custodes Shield Captain, inspired by Ghost Rider.

I had to re-paint my first "holy" fire attempt, as it was very pale. As he is the centerpiece of his scene, i had to make him stand out, and pale fire was too dull, as other lights on the scene (from window, and jetbike's reflected light) are pale yellow.

Because of this i decided to go full red flame. I have added smoked/charred black areas to his armor (near the head), so that i will have nice frame fo the skull.

i have painted flames with Kimera Models paints.

Hello Everyone!

I am working on Custodes body now, but in the meantime a bit update on the jetbike cast light. I didn't like some parts of it, so re-worked it.

I have increased the glow size, and made it less sharp in the middle. Also added more colors to it, and increased sunrays.

Hello Everyone!

Sorry for the long absence, but i hate posting WIP's which aren't ready for posting, and i had a feeling that i have to paint like 90% of the base to show You that progress... which is worth showing (sounds like that Bilbo Baggins bday speech) :P :P

I've been painting that scene for Custodes Shield Captain, trying to place some rays of light (as usual), which took me a bit of time.

Tomorrow i'll start painting jetbike, and after that i will add glows from golden jetbike to surroundings.

Hello Everyone!

I have finished building Custodes Shield Captain project, and i must say that i'm happy how it turned out. Took me more time than i predicted (as usual i guess), but i think this extra time wasn't wasted.

Regarding the model itself - i have replaced his standard head with burning skull, and some halo above his head, as well as added some flames to the spear.

My intention is to paint dark, gothic-type of scene, with a bright warrior in the middle, with his head and spear, burning with holy fire.

I will have to make some tests with the stained glass painting, as i want to make the brightest light spot at the very top of it (that round window), and fading it to bottom. Hopefully it'll work out.

So after couple of months i can finally share the first part of Blood Ravens Librarian Dreadnought photos! :)

It's been a long jurney with some ups and downs, but i think it turned out nicely :)

So after absurd amount of time i think i have finished the platform, and most importantly - that light source on/under the Dreadnought. I think it turned out OK, and now i will move to the spire thingy, and after that - Libby himself :)
