their reasoning being that "we couldn't ban it even if we wanted to, every writer already uses it anyway"

Omg, yes!!! I really don't feel like rolling the dice and hoping "spices" doesn't mean something that will shred my insides!!!

I am begging the FDA to require that companies CANNOT just put "spices" as an ingredient but have to label the spices.

"Spices" can mean "this has some oregano and black pepper in it" or it can mean "this has cumin cayenne and paprika and if you eat this you will be sick in bed in pain for a week" for me.

Seriously, this is an allergy issue and a huge oversight on the part of corporations.

Require detailed labeling of spices used in packaged foods NOW.

People who don't argue in good faith cannot be defeated through good faith arguments. It's the most frustrating thing in the world to me! I have literal nightmares about being trapped in these conversations. It helps me to remember that the point of the argument is NOT to convince the opponent (which is impossible) but to benefit the onlookers and bystanders. There are people who will see that your argument is reasonable while your opponent's is not. There are people who need to know that you side with them and that the entire world isn't made up of awful people who demonize and hate them.

Prison Advocates are literally like "I've imagined a guy in my head who is eeeeeeeeeevil and if he isn't imprisoned or killed, he will terrorize the Earth for absolutely no reason. You have to tell me how you'd reform him, and I get to decide whether it would work, and if you can't do that, the you're stupid and dodging the question and also stupid." And this is the guy they're imagining.

"You think THIS MAN I imagined in my head is going to become a good person because of COMMUNITY SERVICE????? Clearly this is why we need the American Prison Industrial Complex."

And I'm just so fucking tired.

Hi if you ever find yourself in a relationship saying anything along the lines of "well I can't leave cause I would never be able to find something better than this because I'm trans/fat/aging/antisocial/unlucky" I beg of you to run. Please. You can find and build better but in order to do that you have to take the first step out the door. You do not have to endure abuse, mistreatment, or just plain incompatibility for the sake of a fraction of happiness. You don't.
