i remember being a kid and falling asleep on the floor or couch often, usually tiring myself out from emotional outbursts or running around in general. and i'd be so tired that i wouldn't have a blanket or pillow. if i was tired, i'd just take a nap. but waking up from such a draining nap with a blanket over me or finding myself laying on a pillow was incredible and always so nice

and i think that's what it means to be loved. having someone care enough about whether you are cold or not, and laying a blanket on you so that you can be warm and to not wake you up from a deep sleep.

i also think that it takes very little effort and great empathy to do something for someone else you care about. i mean, you'd have to really care about someone to have such a simple thought of "oh, theyre asleep and without a blanket. i don't want them to be cold so i'll just put a blanket on them" when you could just ignore it and not care about whether they'd be cold or not without a blanket.

because its not nessescary about effort, really its simple and easy to just throw a blanket on someone asleep and be done with it, but it's about being empathic to said person about whether they need it or not.

even in the hot summer, it's the same with shifting the direction of a fan on them, especially if you had the fan on you the whole time and its honestly too hot to take it off. but you do, because you wouldn't want them to get in a heat nap and wake up sweaty and feeling unwell.

Okay but I think the real question would be: would Steven and Connie have to stay fused in order to be pregnant with their kid? Cause I'm thinking that considering the gems and fusion in general sex between adult Steven and adult Connie would turn into fusion between the two...so would stevonie be a new type of preg? Not mpreg... but thing else? What I'm really asking is if stevonie had to be pregnant but unfused would Connie be the one pregnant or would Steven be pregnant? Clearly Rebecca sugar would totally make mpreg but I'm also wondering if it would be a shared pregnancy, like half of the babies organs would be in Connie while Steven had the legs and feet. wait- i just realized, even if it was deliberate, Pearl is the only known gem in Steven Universe to poof a diamond...wtf. this makes the scene in s5 with steven lars zircon the diamonds much more sense with yellow and blue pearl being shocked at the mention of "where was her pearl?" because they somehow understood that an actual pearl "shattered" their own diamond. like how scary would that be, knowing that one of your kind had taken the life of their master when you yourself actually cares for your master. like that shit stays on your mind, especially if the pearls imagined themselves in that situation. legit waking nightmares (since they don't sleep). that's why it didn't make sense, because how could a pearl shatter their own diamond? the idea couldn't've been imagined by anyone in that room except for Steven and the Pearls, it was assumed that the diamonds were strong enough to shatter their own, not a pearl.
