💕Magickal Parenting

💓teach your children the importance of grounding, deep breathing, higher thinking and meditation.

💓keep crystals in their room (out of reach obv if their the age to put things in their mouths) for creativity, calm, imagination, and good sleep.

💓anoint them with protection oil before they set out for the day.

💓teach them the power of their words; about manifestation and speaking their intentions into existence.

💓all kitchen witchery tbh; choose foods and herbs that you correspond with self-love, determination, success, happiness, etc.

💓observe how they respond to nature. foster any interests they have and teach them the magick of the world around them.

💓keep a satchet/crystal/mini spell jar for success and determination in/on/near training potty or toilet during potty training.

💓add essential oils to their humidifier. (be careful duh)

💓write original songs, books, stories & do crafts with them. they can all be forms of spells.

💓create a sigil from their name, use for protection spells, lunch box notes, birthday cards, etc.

💓essential oils in their shoes to guide their steps towards success.

Stop Memorizing Your Tarot Cards

Stop memorizing your Tarot cards. Burn the little white book. Learn to read images.

I beat this drum incessantly in the Tarot community. In the past I’ve emphasized the ease of this approach, and it is, actually, much easier and much less tedious than memorizing descriptions. If you sit with a card and allow your mind to wander freely, you will come up with dozens of associations for each card that are just as valid as anything Waite or Crowley came up with. Probably more valid. Nothing I’ve read by any occultist has helped me heal a broken heart, but sitting with the emotions that bubble up when I’m hurting and looking at the 3 of Swords certainly has.

The hardest part of learning to read images is unshackling yourself from the tyranny of words. There are schools of thought that teach a thought doesn’t exist until it’s formed itself into words, but art proves the lie of that, dripping through the spaces between the letters, reaching the places words can’t reach. Who was the ballerina who said, “If I could tell you what the dance was saying, I wouldn’t have had to dance it?”

Tarot is art. You can’t just call the High Priestess “introversion” and call it a day. That’s like trying to reduce Hamlet to the word “indecisive.”

Tarot cards aren’t words. They aren’t even sentences. They are libraries.

And your mind already knows how to read them.

Choose a card. Any card. Sit with it for five minutes and watch where your mind goes.

That’s all you have to do.

Candle magic is one of my favorite type of ritual, because it is relatively simple to setup, and non-expensive. You just need a candle, and fire to light it up. If you want the spell to be even more powerful, feel free to carve symbols or sigils on the candle before lighting it. Then sit down, observe the flame, and think about a question that is worrying you.

Color correspondences

⚪ White candles: healing, purification, innocence, meditation, peace

⚫ Black candles: strength, negative energies, resilience, self-control

🟤 Brown candles: intuition, animal protection, stability, decisions 

🟣 Purple candles: ambition, power, focus, concentration, inspiration

🔵 Blue candles: happiness, calm, laughter, relaxation, harmony, water

🟢 Green candles: luck, love, fertility, birth, health, success, earth

🔥 Dancing flame: there is chaotic, undisciplined energy present. You need to focus and meditate before taking any decision at the moment. 

🔥 Crackling flame: spirits might be present in the room, and they would like to speak to you. Be open to their message. 

🔥 A lot of smoke is coming out: the universe is helping you cleanse yourself and your room, leaving space for new opportunities and energies.

BEST: It has the richest vocabulary and emotional capacity to answer any and every question.

WORST: Years of studying it might prove entirely useless if your intuition is not naturally strong.

🧹 Home Cleansing 🧹

This is one of the most important skill to learn for beginner witches. Practicing magic and witchcraft tends to attract a lot of positive and negative energies, so it is important for you to regularly cleanse your home to reset the space. There are many different ways of cleansing your home using the 4 elements. 

– 

Air cleanse

🌪️ Start by opening your windows and letting some fresh air in.  🌪️ Burn palo santo wood to clear the air and reset energies.  🌪️ In a small cauldron, burn cleansing herbs like rosemary or lavender and walk from room to room to disperse the smoke. 

– 

Water cleanse

💧 Clean your floor using a herbal floor wash (rosemary, sage, bay leaves).  💧 Make a cleansing spray with salt water, rosemary or lavender.  💧 Leave a small dish of Florida water in rooms that need cleansing. 

– 

Fire cleanse

🔥 If possible, let the sunlight in as much as possible.  🔥 Inscribe the word ‘peace’ on a candle and let it burn out.  🔥 Place burnt-looking crystals like smoky quartz and black tourmaline in your entrance as they collect negative energies.

Earth cleanse

🌱 To cleanse your witch tools, place them on the dirt near your houseplants.  🌱 Use your besom (aka broom) to sweep dust and dirt from your home.  🌱 Finish your cleansing at your entrance door by releasing negative energies back to the earth.

Witch Tips: Spells Gone Bad 💣

🖤 There’s always talk about learning to undo anything that you do in case a spell or curse goes wrong, but what I rarely see is people writing them self a reversal into the spell it’s self.

🖤 Something along the lines of “Should the effects of this spell no longer be desired the lighting of this candle, (or crossing out these words, breaking this thing, etc) shall dismantle it”

🖤 You can write all sorts of fail safes into spells, not just for the purpose of stoping them, but also to close loop holes.

🖤 And while you should still learn to do reversals, this provides you with a quick and easy solution to a needed get out of jail free card.
