MORITUGUI STUDIO
[EN]
"LAPIDAÇÃO"/ ("CUTTING") is a series of studies with cuttings that later became digital illustrations and were transformed into limited edition prints.
Just as a meticulous lapidary shapes each precious stone to reveal its splendor, the seeker of self-awareness refines oneself through self-discovery, sculpting their experiences and inner turmoil to unveil the luminous jewel of their true essence. Every obstacle, every moment of reflection, is like a precise chisel blow, carving them into a constantly evolving masterpiece.

Muralism - Painting and revitalization of a public sports court.
Fortuna Square, Vila Gustavo
(São Paulo - Brazil, 2023)
--
Urban Interventions is one of the areas of action of the Mulungú Cultural collective, which aims to encourage the population to debate and reflect upon occupying and interacting in different ways with public space.
In this intervention, visual arts were used as the main language through the work of artist Camila Moritugui. The construction of the work had as its concept the reflections that surround the occupation of public space, such as the feeling of belonging and resignification of the environment.
Through the intervention, together with local residents at all times, it was possible to create new functions for the court which, now, in addition to its initial sporting function, has an artistic character and other possibilities for use as events and meetings by the general population. .

"DA ZABUMBA AO PANDEIRO É UM TOQUE"
Visual intervention for Casa de Cultura da Vila Guilherme - Casarão
(São Paulo - Brazil, 2022)
--
"DA ZABUMBA AO PANDEIRO É UM TOQUE" is a visual intervention carried out by visual artist Camila Moritugui in celebration of forró and samba day, musical genres that mark Brazilian identity and translate ancestral influences, as well as spontaneous national movements rich in harmony, rhythm, percussion, involvement, spirit, history and tradition.
The intervention takes place through the painting of individual, modular panels, which together form a single panel, like a kind of mosaic. The work is, in addition to an invitation to reflection and interaction with art in public space, a tribute to these two musical genres that are so rich and important nationally and internationally and, also, a form of artistic-historical-cultural maintenance of these cultural heritages. Brazilian immaterials. The painting was designed for the Casa de Cultura da Vila Guilherme - Casarão and now forms part of its collection of works and also serves as a scenographic element.

“Digital care and philanthropy”
Cover art & illustrations for FASE – Federation of Bodies for Social and Educational Assistance and the Mozilla Foundation
(Rio de Janeiro - Brazil, 2022)
--
"The topic of digital care is increasingly present among Brazilian civil society organizations and movements. In this scenario, what are the barriers and what are the possible paths to be taken towards incorporating digital care practices into the daily lives of these groups? Which fields and agents are present in this process? What is the role of philanthropy in this context?
These are the concerns that arise when seeking to reflect on the digital care ecosystem today in Brazil. And it was based on these questions that this research was developed, in an effort to grope and provide preliminary contours to the challenges posed, and to imagine possible paths. This research is initially aimed at (and brings specific recommendations) to philanthropic organizations operating in Brazil, understanding that they occupy an important place in promoting debates and have strategic resources for consolidating a culture of digital care in the field of Human Rights. The findings presented here, however, can be useful for thinking and rethinking the dynamics that exist at the crossroads between technologies and struggles for social justice and, in this sense, this research is also aimed at all people who are interested in or who make up this ecosystem." “Digital care and philanthropy” was developed by researchers Foz and Amarela with the support of FASE – Federation of Bodies for Social and Educational Assistance and the Mozilla Foundation through the “Tech and Society Fellowship” program.

Mural project for Goethe-Institut Porto Alegre
Porto Alegre - Brasil
(December, 2020)
--
“In December 2020, the Goethe-Institut Porto Alegre launches a special project that celebrates the 250th birthday of Ludwig van Beethoven, one of the most important cultural personalities in Germany. Driven by this important anniversary, the Institute invited artist Camila Moritugui to develop a graphic project on the building's wall on this theme. At the same time, guitarist Eduardo Guterres selected and played excerpts from Beethoven's 3rd Symphony while Moritugui painted the wall. This entire musical and graphic process was recorded by the collective Ocorre Lab and is now released in the form of a music video to celebrate this important cultural anniversary. Wall On the wall of the Institute, Camila Moritugui used Beethoven's musical scores as a reference, primary colors and basic geometric shapes that refer to the history of design and also dialogue with the legacy initiated by the Bauhaus school, one of the most important in its segment in Germany and the world . Music Já Guterres selected excerpts from the end of the first movement of the 3rd Symphony (known as Heroica) and made an arrangement for three guitars. The construction of the arrangement took place through the process of listening to recordings and analyzing the score, in addition to bringing to the guitar the musical phrases that make up the violins, flutes, bassoon, double bass.”
