Welcome Sailor Scouts, to Crystal Tokyo
AN: SINCE TUMBLR HAS DECIDED THAT I CAN NO LONGER BACK-POST ANYTHING, I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONTINUE THIS PROJECT HERE. INSTEAD, PLEASE REFER TO MY BLOGGER AS THAT SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY PLACE I CAN KEEP MY PAST LOGS DONE TO COMPLETION. I'M REALLY BUMMED ABOUT THIS FYI.
Here, I will try to preserve my Sailor Moon Blog for your enjoyment.
In this little corner of the web, I will be archiving some of the Sailor Moon fandom from days gone by (1997-early 00s). Here you will find hilarious old rumors and my own personal fan-fiction that I penned years ago, as well as other's fanfics as well.
I hope you enjoy what this space has to offer and please check dates for when things were posted. Some of the rumors were products of their time, and since we are no longer in the 00's I ask you to bear that in mind before making any comments.
Be sure to check back often as I am trying to archive as fast as possible and if you are following a certain story, you'll see the updates sooner.
Cheers,
Malta Aino

This is SO valid!
God I hate it when people say that Magical Girls are too dark nowadays. Like, c'mon magical girls have been dark since the dawn of the genre.
You guys want an anime like Sailor Moon again and yet fail to realize that Sailor Moon itself is dark as fuck. Literally in the first finale of the show, all the Sailor guardians fucking die. Sure they're brought back to life but still.
Also, I get the hate towards the Madoka copycats. I get it. But most of these copycats aren't copycats. Daybreak Illusion, Yuki Yuna is a Hero, and Magical Girl Raising Project are all there stories. Except Magical Girl Site I guess.
Also Princess Tutu, Fresh Precure, and Heartcatch Precure are all pretty dark before Madoka Magica came to be. (Although Heartcatch was the inspiration for Madoka Magica)
You want more light hearted magical girls? Well, you won't get much because in every magical girl show you will get something dark. Even in western shows. For example, Lolirock, the main villian has probably killed multiple people during his reign. This includes Talia's and possibly Iris's parents.
Even the most light hearted of shows aren't safe from this. Except Magical Angel Creamy Mami. I haven't made it so far to the anime so it's probably a cute title.
Anyways, if you want a more cute magical girl story, then maybe make one your own. Do a webcomic, a small short series, or even just make OCs based on the ideas.
Why am I even ranting about this? Well, I remember seeing a post that says that Hirogaru Sky Precure was already (and I'm exaggerating a bit here) dead to them because of spoilers. Let's just say that the season was already getting into dark territory by that point.
I'm not going to name who that was (because I forgot) but dark Precure seasons already exist. The aforementioned Fresh and Heartcatch Pretty Cure are all considered the darkest seasons of Precure and they were successful. Especially Fresh, since that season basically saved the whole franchise.
Dark magical girl series are here to stay. They have been around for quite around now and they won't stop anytime soon. The only magical girl series that I want to see made fun of is Magical Girl Site. Anyways that's it. It's just a little rant I have about the magical girl fanbase.
I should do the same thing for the Vocaloid fanbase too because holy hell I hate the gatekeeping in that fandom.

And Now for Something Completely Different: Cerise Hood
Reservations
I have a secret. I know what you’re thinking…everyone has a secret. But, does everyone have to hide their secret every moment of every day?
I go to Ever After High because it’s my destiny to be the next Red Riding Hood. But that’s not all of who I am. That’s because of my father, the Big Bad Wolf. Even though he can change from wolf to human whenever he wants, he and mom weren’t supposed to fall in love.
So, I guess you could say I am my secret. Every day I have to hide my half wolf ears. Nobody can ever know about my true nature, which is total fairy-fail! Truth is, I’m he most athletic fairyteen in school… even more than Hunter Huntsman and Daring Charming. When I run like the wind, I feel free. I wish I could join the school track team, but I have to hide my strengths. Or do I? I’ve heard whispers that we might be able to rewrite our own destinies. It makes me wonder… can I trust anyone with the real story of me?
CHAPTER 1
Legacy Day… that’s all everyone talked about. Legacy Day dress rehearsal, Legacy Day dance, Legacy day EVERYTHING! UGH! So I wasn’t exactly huffing and puffing when dad Mr. Badwolf called me to his office. Even though I’m not in any of his General Villiany classes, I still need to respect him as his daughter a student.
His door opened, and there he stood intimidating to most, but kind to me. “Ms. Hood,” we always act formal at school. “I need you to run an errand.” He handed me a letter, “This is signed by Headmaster Grimm. It excuses a student from his Orientation speech to get supplies for me.”
Reading between the lines, he didn’t tell Headmaster Grimm that I specifically needed to run the errand. That meant one thing – family matters. “Where am I going?”
“The Mad Hatter’s Tea Shoppe in the village of Book End,” he put his hand on my shoulder, “Don’t take too long.” This sounded important… does that mean I can trust the Mad Hatter? His daughter Maddie has always been wicked nice to me…
OOF! Just my luck, I literally bumped into Cedar Wood, the daughter of Pinocchio. She’s such a sweet girl, but everyone knows she really can’t keep a secret. Her dad had a truth spell cast oh her, and now she can’t lie. It’s not her fault, but I get nervous when she asks things like, “Hey Cerise, where are you going?”
“Village of Book End,” I waved the letter, “Headmaster Grimm knows. Bye.” I hoped nobody would ask Cedar if she’d seen me.
CHAPTER 2
The scent of fresh sugarplum biscuits tailed back to the Mad Hatter’s Tea Shoppe, and I suddenly got every hungry. My, how bizarre the Tea Shoppe is – teapots on every table whistle in unison, upside down clocks tick-tock above countless doors. I was immediately lost inside once the door behind me slammed shut. A door on the ceiling swung open, and The Mad Hatter dropped to the floor, “No room! You need a reservation.”
I looked around, “But there’s nobody here.”
“Exactly! They didn’t have a reservation!” the Mad Hatter pulled out a dusty old book, “Here we are… Cersie Hood.” He looked up as if seeing me for the very first time, “Oh, you do have a reservation.” From his vest, he pulled on a long chain, and at the end of it was a key to a wicker door. He unlocked the door and out stepped my mother, “How are you, Cerise?” She hugged me, “Sorry for taking you out of Orientation. Dad left this at home,” she reached into her basket. It was a simple book with a massive front lock, “I don’t get it…”
She sipped her tea, “Since Dad and I can’t risk talking on MirrorPhones, we leave messages for each other in these two-way books. What he writes in his book appears in mine.”
“Mom, you could get in trouble!” I whispered as the Mad Hatter buttered a stack of toast.
“We can trust Mr. Hatter,” she smiled tenderly, “I better go. Send Dad my love.”
I hid the book inside my basket, and made a beeline for school. Right away, I couldn’t shake the feeling someone was following me. Quickly I turned into an alleyway, held my breath and dove into the shadows… literally. My magic riding hood lets me walk inside shadows. It’s kind of like swimming underwater.
Someone hurried past and I stepped out behind her. Odd… it was Briar Beauty, who shockingly jumped when I asked, “Why are you following me?”
That’s when she caught me off guard… she asked me to help plan the Legacy Day dance. For a brief moment I was happy. Everyone sees me as a lone-wolf. I dreamed of just hanging out and planning a party. But the happy moment ended… Briar smelled guilty. I just knew she didn’t want my help. Rather than call her out, I let her off, “We both know the school would never let a non-royal plan the dance.”
CHAPTER 3
The door to my father Mr. Badwolf’s office was open, but inside looked empty. However there was the faint smell of porridge all over the room, “You can come out, Blondie.”
With a CRASH, Blondie Lockes fell from behind the desk. True to her Goldilocks’ roots, Blondie always walks into places she doesn’t belong. “Just who I was looking for,” she held her MirrorPad up, “Hex it out, my MirrorCast audience, Cersie Hood just walked into an empty teacher’s office! But not just any teacher… Mr. Badwolf! Say, Cerise, isn’t he Little Red Riding Hood’s villain?”
“MirrorCast? Villian? No! I mean, yes, but-“
“And you’re the next Red Riding Hood! So why are you here?”
“HAT’S WHAT I’D LIKE TO KNOW?” With a huff and a puff, the Big Bad Wolf blew Blondie’s interview down, “This is my private office! Leave… NOW.”
“That sounds about just right,” Blondie ran like she was being chased by three bears.
Before I could take one step, he growled, “Not so fast.” He snatched my basket off my arm, “I’m confiscating this. You’ll get it back one I’ve made sure you don’t have something that belongs to me.”
“Yes sir,” I walked out, relieved he got his two-way book without arousing suspicion.
That night, there was a knock at my door. When I opened it, there was my basket, with a note reading: “Sorry about earlier. You’re the best daughter ever after.”
CHAPTER 4
In the Castleteria, royals almost always sit with each other. So imagine my surprise when a princess I never met before sat down, “Can I join you?” She had a kind smile, and my, what long hair she had. Three people tripped when she tossed it.
I shrugged my shoulders. Usually I’ll only eat with Raven Queen or Maddie. It was nice to have some new company.
“I;m Holly, the next Rapunzel. I’m new here,” her eyes darted to my cloak, “And you’re… the next Red Ridin Hood!” Oh no. She was going to start prying. “So do you hate Mr. Badwolf?”
“Not really.” My hair stood on end. Why was everyone getting all up in my hood lately?
“I think I would,” she didn’t drop it, “I always wondered, why would he eat your grandmother when-“
“JUST DROP IT!” I walked away, leaving my breakfast unfinished.
As I passed the royal’s table, Blondie shouted, “Holly, come sit with us!” So much for making new friends.
CHAPTER 5
Afterwards, everyone kept their distance from me, though my name kept coming up in hushed tones. It didn’t bother me until I heard, “Psst psst Cerise psst psst Legacy Day psst psst MirrorCast.”
My throat closed. Immediately, I unlocked my MirrorPhone and tuned in to Blondie’s MirrorCast, Just Right. It was about Legacy Day. Specifically the Legacy Day dance and how someone was trying to ruin it. And apparently that someone was me… because, she said, I hate the Big Bad Wolf… She talked about Cedar saying I went to Book End, me breaking into his office, and finally what happened when Holly asked if I hate Mr. Badwolf.
Taking the deepest possible breath, I ran to the nearest shadow. It felt good to run.
CHAPTER 6
Racing in the shadows, I finally found the darkest room in school – the empty Grimmnasium. Hours must have passed before I heard their footsteps. The center of the floor flipped open. Smells of chamomile tea filled the room, as the Mad Hatter’s daughter, Maddie, emerged, “Found her! It’s Cerise!”
Cedar climbed out, followed by Raven, “Are you okay, Cerise?”
Raven sighed, “We all saw Blondie’s MirrorCast. We know it’s a poisoned apple.”
Tears stung my eyes, “Why would she cry wolf?”
“Because I got carried away,” Blondie appeared behind them, “cerise, I was just wrong. I thought I was saving Legacy Day.”
My teeth grinded, “What did I ever do to you, Blondie? Are you happy I don’t have any friends? You know what would be just right? If you go away!”
Her head dropped, “I deserve that. Headmaster Grimm wasn’t happy either. I got in so much trouble…” sincere tears dropped from her eyes, “I never got your side of the story. I-I’m so sorry.”
Raven sat next to me, “By the way, why do you think we were looking for you? We’re your friends, Cerise.”
“I’m going to post a new MirrorCast,” Blondie grabbed her MirrorPad, “Let’s tell everyone the truth.”
Smiling, I stepped through the door, “Thanks Blondie, but I think I’ve had enough attention for one day.” For the first time in my life, I don’t feel like a lone wolf.

Angel for Earth by Angel of Earth
Chapter 4 - Past Beginnings
@->------------
I threw my arms around Motoki and gave him a big hug, "I can't believe it's really you!"
Motoki was swinging me around when the girls and Mamoru walked in.
"Oh, you have no idea how glad he'll be when he sees you."
I looked over to see that the girls and Mo-chan was looking at us funny.
Motoki put me down when he noticed that the others were there.
"This must look funny." I explained, "You see, Motoki and I knew each other when I use to live in Tokyo. A friend introduced us and we were kind of a trio."
"The three of us became best friends. Alex, that's our friend, always called her Angel. That's how I knew it was her."
"Do you still see Alex?"
"Yeah. Man is he gonna be happy to see you again. But he was angry that you never wrote to us." Motoki couldn't seem to wipe the grin from his face.
"Please, Motoki-chan, you can't tell him I'm back yet. I want to surprise him. And what do you mean never wrote? I wrote almost everyday for a year!"
"Sorry to tell you, Terri-chan, but we never got your letters. We were angry at you for awhile. But I'm just so glad to see you again. Alex on the other hand stayed mad for a long time."
"So why don't you tell me what I've missed."
"I got a girlfriend...."
@->----------Later That Day-----------
I walk into my bedroom and throw myself across the bed.
Ivy comes up and lays next to be. She is still in her cat form.
So much has happened since I last saw Alex. I have changed in so many ways, yet I still remained the same in someways. I remember the day we met......
*****FLASHBACK*****
Three boys surrounded a younger boy, age eight, with blond hair and blue eyes, their fists raised.
"You're gonna pay for that!"
The boys came at the boy and started punching him. The boy only tried to shield himself, knowing he was out numbered.
A shadow came behind the behind the boys, "Leave him alone!"
The boys turn around to see a small girl about six with black curly hair and blue eyes.
"And what are you gonna do about it, midget?" the biggest boy teased her.
"I'm gonna kick you butt that what!"
The boy threw a punch at her.
She dodged it and then lodged her elbow in his stomach and hit him in the eye.
He got a punch to her jaw and gave her a bloody lip. She then punched him in the stomach and then kicked his feet out from under him.
He got up and ran away crying with his two friends behind him.
She wiped her lip with the back of her sleeve and walked over to the blond boy and held out a hand, "Are you okay?"
The boy winced as she took helped him up. "Nothing that won't be healed in awhile. They could have killed you. Where did you learn to fight like that?"
"My dad taught me and my brother. My name's Terra Rose. What's yours?
"My name is Akemi, but everyone calls me Alex."
"Why do they call you Alex?"
"My father's name is Akemi too."
"Terra Rose isn't my first name either. My momma was American and my dad was Japanese so they gave both me and my brother a Japanese first name and a American middle name. But my brother also wanted to give me a name. My brother loved roses." Terra looks sad at this. "So what is you first name?"
*****END OF FLASHBACK*****
He called me Angel since that day. He thought it was fitting. I wonder if he can still love me. I know he loves me for who I once was, but much has changed since then.
The move changed me.
Losing him changed me.
One thing that also change me a lot was when Ivy came into my life...
*****NEW FLASHBACK*****
Terra, now ten, is in town at the local ice cream parlor. Suddenly a spider youma blasts through the doors.
"She's here! I know she is. GIVE ME THE GUARDIAN!" the youma shouts.
The people try to flee, but the youma shoots out a blast of webbing making the people stick to the walls.
Terra crawls behind a counter and hides.
A small ladybug crawls onto Terra. "Terra Rose, listen to me."
"Little bug, you better get out of here or the monster might try to hurt you too."
"Don't worry about me. I am not what I appear to be."
The small bug flies off Terra's leg and lands in front of her. It starts to glow and changes shape. When the glow fades a large silver dog stands in front of Terra.
"I was sent here to guide you small one. My name is Ivy. You must fight this monster and protect this planet. You have the power. Just say the words that come to you."
Terra closed her eyes and listened to the world around her.
"EARTH POWER... MAKE-UP!!"
A silvery purple light covered her. The locket Terra wore around her neck appeared in her hands. A white rose came out of it. She held the rose in her hand and the petals started to come off the rose and started to swirl around her, like a breeze that wasn't there. Terra started to twirl and spin like a ballerina and the petals covered her body. First the petals covered her until they made the body and skirt. Then they went to her arms and legs making gloves and boots. A tiara and earrings appeared. The petals then flew to her face and made a glittery mask of white. She then stopped spinning and stood in a pose. In the pose she was in front of the Earth and one hand was up by the corner of her mask holding the white rose and the other hand was at her side; with the rose's petals returning.
She jumped up onto the counter. "Stop right there, youma! You think you can go around hurting people. I think not! I am Earth's Guardian. I protect her and all the life that is on this planet. I am Sailor Earth!"
*****END OF FLASHBACK*****
I then destroyed the youma all on my own. That was just the start. I faced many youma. Ivy taught me many things on the ranch I grew up on. I didn't find it funny that the animal could talk. I had always been able to talk to anything living and I could heal things with my touch. But then again, Ivy wasn't a regular animal. She taught me how to use my powers. She trained me on the ranch. But she didn't teach me all fighting and magic.
She taught me the history of my mission. She gave me books, but the books weren't much help. Some couldn't be opened. Some had pages that only showed the ink when the time was right. I started to remember things from a past life. Not very many things. In that life I was Sailor Earth also. But all those memories are scattered and broken. Things are missing in these memories.
I remember in that past life I fought the Black Rose. And with the locket I could become the leader of the Earth Senshi. But first I have to find the Earth Senshi. I remember when I first got that locket. It was a gift from my brother. The brother that was like a best friend.
The brother that I lost.
*****FLASHBACK*****
Terra, age four, sits in a rose garden. It's my birthday and he forgot. He never forgets my birthday.*
"Rosie, Rosie, where are you?" a voice calls.
"I'm here." she calls to the little boys voice.
He comes running down the pathway. She can't make out his face. It is a shadow. But he has her black hair. "I wanted to give this to you. It's your birthday gift." he hands her a small package wrapped in purple paper.
She tears into the paper and pulls out a wooden box. Dozens of roses are caved out of the box all tangled into each other. She opens it, a soft melody starts to play. A melody from long ago. The inside is crushed velvet and resting on the velvet is a silver antique locket. She opens it up, but can't make out the pictures inside.
"Oh thank-you! You're the bestest big brother in the whole world." She throws her arms around the boy.
"Only the best for my little sister." he plucks a white rose off the bush, after making sure there are no thorns he puts it in her hair.
*****END OF FLASHBACK*****
If only I could make out his face. With all my memories it seems that certain things are missing. Faces blurred or shadowed, voices faded and soft. If only I could get this locket to open then maybe it would be easier to find him.
I start to fiddle with the locket again, trying to open it. Tomorrow I go to the hospital to see what I can dig up. But still I don't think that they will be much help. But the hospital is the best place to start.
I roll off my bed and pull out my paints and a fresh canvas.
I'll paint something. Something from a past. Something from my dreams. Maybe these Sailor Senshi from the other planets could help me find out who I am. Where I belong. Maybe even help me find the Earth Senshi and the Princess. But then again I don't know if I can trust them.

And Now for Something Completely Different: Victorian
Tumblr media
Victorian is a visual aesthetic that comprises the various fashions and trends in British culture that emerged and developed in the United Kingdom and the British Empire during the reign of Queen Victoria (1837-1901), which is known as the Victorian Era. The issue and aesthetics of social class often come into play with the Victorian aesthetic, with both visual signs and fictional works discussing the differences between the poor, the working class, the landed gentry, and the bourgeoisie. The conflict between urbanism and a good quality of life is another common point of discussion, as the Industrial Revolution was at its highest peak during this time. The Victorian era is highly popular in historical aesthetics because of its large influence in fiction. Many popular fictional works, such as the Sherlock Holmes series, Charles Dickens' books, the invention of children's literature, and the Bronte sisters' books are seen as timeless, with many people being fascinated by the period because of it. Because of the popularity of these original works, many writers that did not live during this era made fictional works that take place in the period and became popular itself. Likewise, many people are into Victorianism because it is one of the most popular, and thus, accessible, historic fashions; the corsets, wide skirts, and different dressing rituals are fascinating to modern people, and many articles have been written explaining these practices. Please note that there are many modern interpretations of the Victorian Era; this means that the emphasis will be on the stereotypes of this historical period, often not being historically accurate. The aesthetic heavily influenced Lolita, Steampunk, and Victorian Goth.
The Victorian Urban Poverty aesthetic attempts to capture the harsh atmosphere of Victorian slums, workhouses, and factories, and the culture of the poor in 19th Century Britain. It was popular in its time, in art, photography and literature. This was partially because rich Victorians had a bit of an obsession with the underclass and the way they lived, and their view somewhat persists even today. While this aesthetic is not always totally truthful to the way the poor lived at this time, it does offer a window into the period from a certain perspective.

Angel for Earth by Angel of Earth
Chapter 3 - Apartment
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
One Week Earlier
"Knock, knock, Mamo-chan. I'm here." Usagi walked into Mamoru apartment.
"Hi, Usako." Mamoru was sitting at a desk in the living room typing.
"Whatcha doing?" She walks over to him and gives him a little kiss.
"I'm typing up an add for the paper. I need to get a room mate. The owner upped the rent again and that extra room's just going to waste."
"I don't want you to get a room mate! We wont get anymore time alone, and what if they find out your Tuxedo Mask?"
"I already checked around for other apartments. Do you know how hard it is to find a good apartment in Tokyo this time of year? As for the whole Tuxedo Mask thing, I'll just have to be careful. I have windows I can always jump out of." He took off his glasses and threw them on the table. "Writing this ad is harder than I thought."
Usagi walked behind him and started to rub his shoulders.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Present Day
"Move over, Ivy. Your hogging the bed. Why don't you turn into something small that doesn't take any space?" Terra rolled over on the bed, making more room for the dog.
The dog started turning into a glowing ball and started shrinking; the glow soon faded and there sat a small silver cat with the earth symbol on it head.
"There, is that better, Terri?"
"Perfect." Terra spread the newspaper out on the bed, "We have to find an apartment. I can't believe how many rat and roach infested places there are around here. And everything is so expensive."
"Why don't you just ask them to leave?"
"Because the place was such a dump to begin with. Besides I don't want to have to ask them to leave just because I want to live there. I don't want to make them lose their homes. Hey, here's one, but their looking for a room mate. Ivy, how do you feel about moving in with someone? It'll mean you can't talk as much."
"I don't care. The sooner we get out of this hotel the better."
~*~*~*~
Terra walks up to the door and knocks. A guy, about seventeen, with midnight black hair and dark blue eyes answers.
"Hi, my names Terra Rose Childs, and I'm here about the ad in the paper."
"Come on in. My name is Mamoru Chiba."
"I just got this feeling. Have we met before?"
"That's funny. I just got the same feeling. I don't think we've met."
They sat on the couch.
"Why don't you tell me a little about yourself."
"Well, I'm originally from Tokyo, but moved to the U.S. when I was four."
"How old are you?"
"I'm 15, almost 16, and in tenth grade. I'm going to Crossroads High."
"What about your family?"
"My adopted parents are back in the U.S. I'm here on an exchange program. The family I was suppose to be staying with had to back out last minute so I've been living in a hotel."
"What about activities?"
"I haven't had time to join anything yet, but it all depends on the season. I want to be part of the volleyball team, swim team, and softball team. For clubs I'm hoping to join the art club, cooking club, nature club and a community service club, if there is one. I also take part in the school plays. Outside of school activities I like to hike, bike, skate. I have a part time job up at the stables where I give ridding lessons and help take care of the animals."
Man, she's one busy girl. That will be good for Tuxedo Mask. And she seems so familiar, like I've know her all my life. Mamoru set his cup of coffee down then asked Terra a few more question before telling her about him.
They talked for hours. It seemed like they were best friends and had know each other forever. After a while Mamoru showed Terra around the apartment.
"You can have the room if you want it, that is if you can put up with me."
"Sure I would love to have the room. Oh, by the way, can I have a cat? She's house broken and doesn't make a mess."
"Sure. My girlfriend is over here all the time and always brings her cat." What Mamoru actually meant was that the cat tagged along to watch them, but he wasn't about to say that out loud.
"When can I move in?"
~*~*~*~
Two days later Terra moved most of her stuff into the apartment and spent the whole day working on her room. It drove Mamoru nuts trying to figure out what was going on in there because she kept the door shut.
The walls were sponged a silvery purple. A water bed sat up against the wall in a corner with a hope chest at the end and a night stand with a lamp sat next to the head of the bed.
In front of one window was a desk with a computer, and in one corner sat a stereo system with a cd rack full of different kinds of cds. An easel sat in front of another window with some canvas. Plants were all over the room, some even climbing up the walls and ceilings and pots of white roses were near the bed.
A white dresser sat near the walk-in closet. Pictures of far away places were on the walls and ceramic mystical creatures sat on things in the room.
"So what do you think, Mamoru-chan? It's almost all done."
"Looks like it took a lot of work, Terri-chan."
There was a knock at the door. Mamoru opened it and there stood a delivery guy.
"I have a delivery for Terra Rose Childs."
"That's me."
"Sign here, please." the delivery guy holds out a board and Terra signs. "Its downstairs we'll just have to unload it."
Terra runs downstairs to the delivery truck with Mamoru and the man in tow. "It's here! It's finally here!" she turns to the delivery guy with a deadly face and red eyes, "If its scratched, chipped, or broken I will make sure you pay. I'll make you wish were never born."
The delivery man looks pale, "Yes, miss."
The other delivery men start to wheel out a object that is covered with a tarp.
"It's here, it's here."
"Terri-chan, calm down. What can be so important?" Mamoru looks down into Terra's eyes and got a shock. Bright yellow eyes almost impossible to look at, "Hey Terri-chan your eyes are yellow. I could have sworn they were dark blue."
"Oh they are. My eyes change color usually when I get big waves of emotions. When there yellow I'm hyper, dark blue is calm, black is depression, red is anger, purple is love, dark green is when I'm jealous, and emerald green is when I have a urge to garden, ice blue is when I'm in kind of a cold mood, brown comes when I'm in between emotions and orange is kind-of-hyper, but mean mood. Usually my eyes are dark blue because its a family color, but my eyes only change with emotions that are very strong. My mother's eyes changed too."
Terra turned to the object and tore off the tarp to reveal a black Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Mamoru's mouth dropped open at the beauty of it.
She hugged it then started to inspect it for scratches. "All in one peace."
"You can drive?"
"Yeah. I was allowed to get my license early, because I was leaving for Japan and I only have a few more months until I'm sixteen.
"When is your birthday?"
"April 30th. I'm a Taurus, one of the signs most connected to the Earth."
~~~~~~~~~~~A Couple Hours Later~~~~~~~~~~~
KNOCK KNOCK
Terra answers the door.
"TERRA ROSE WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!?" screamed Usagi
"I live here, Usagi-chan. So you must be the Usako that Mo-chan's been talking about." Terra moved out of the way for the steaming bunny. "He's in watching TV."
Usagi walked past Terra and into the living room where Mamoru was on the couch with a small silver kitten.
"I'll let you too talk, I'm going out for milk. I'll be back in half an hour." Terra grabbed her car keys and walked out the door."
"You didn't tell me that your room mate was a girl!"
"Usako, calm down, Terra is only a friend. She's like a little sister. Usagi you should trust me."
"You're right. I should trust you two. I just can't help rushing to conclusions sometimes. Terra and I have been really close these last two weeks and she seems like a sister to me, too.
"Your getting so mature, my Usako. I love you."
"I love you too, Mamo-chan." Usagi leaned up and kissed him.
The cat looked kind of annoyed and left room, going back into Terra's room.
"When did you get a cat?"
"I didn't. She's Terra's and her name is Ivy."
They started kissing again. The kisses started going deeper when the communicator started going off.
"Not again." groaned Mamoru.
~*~*~*~
"I am Sailor Moon!"
"And we're the Sailor Senshi," chimed in the rest of the senshi.
"And on behalf of the Moon we shall punish you.!
"Mars Fire Balls Charge!" Mars launched her fire ball at a water youma. "It's time for you to become vapor."
The youma easily dodged the attack.
Mercury was typing away on her mini computer trying to find the youma's weakness.
Jupiter was throwing thunder and Tuxedo Mask was throwing roses at the youma, but neither could seem to hit it.
Venus threw her love chain and smacked the youma in the face.
The youma started to shoot out random blast of high water pressure and hit both Chibi Moon and Sailor Moon.
The youma was just about to shoot hot water at the two when a small white rose landed in the mouth of the youma, plugging up its hole.
The senshi gasped and looked up at where the rose had come from.
In a tree stood Sailor Earth. "I'm the Earth's Guardian. I was chosen by Mother Earth to protect the small, and the life on this planet. You can't come in here and try to take over. I'm Sailor Earth. And you're going to pay for attacking my planet."
The youma tore the rose out of it's mouth. "You think you can destroy the Black Rose, little one? You can't! We are stronger than what we once were. You might have gotten rid of us once, but now we're back and stronger than ever!"
"The Black Rose is going down." Sailor Earth started her new attack. "LIFE SEED..."
A small shape of energy appeared in her hand, a gust of wind blew at her back. It blew her hair forward, but left the mask on. The wind also picked up the seed and then dived down right when it got to the youma. The seed fell on the ground.
The youma looked at it and started laughing. "Is that all you got, little girl?"
"DRAIN!" Sailor Earth whispered the last word.
Vines exploded out of the seed and wrapped themselves around the youma. The green vines started to glow and they began to suck the energy out of the youma.
The youma began to scream and shrink and shrivel, until it was nothing but a small dried up corpse.
"Return!"
The vines began to pull back into the seed. The seed was now the size of a baseball. It floated up off the ground and then landed in the palm of Sailor Earth.
A strong wind blew through the park again and hit the corpse turning it to dust.
Sailor Moon was the first to speak. "Who are you? What is your mission."
"I am Sailor Earth and my mission is to find the Princess, and protect her and find the Sailor Elements. At the same time I must protect the Earth."
"What princess are you looking for? The Moon Princess? Because if you are we already found her."
"I'm not looking for the Moon Princess."
"What did the youma mean by Black Rose, and you tried to get rid of it once?"
"It doesn't matter. You best stay out of this or you will get hurt."
"We protect the Earth too! Why don't you join us? Maybe we could help you."
"I won't join you. Nobody asked you to protect this planet, but since you did, you have my thanks. You couldn't help me."
"Sailor Earth, come along now." a large black lab with an earth symbol on its head appeared.
"This is my guardian, Ivy, and you better stay out of our way. I don't want to have to hurt you just for being in the way, but I will."
A white mist surrounded the senshi again and when it had lifted the girl and dog were gone.
~*~*~*~
Terra Rose walked into the arcade. "Hi Motoki. How are you today?"
"Oh hi, Terra. I'm fine. I wanted to talk to you more the other day, but I figured with all the girls there I couldn't get close."
She felt fluttery, like she could soar a million feet off the ground. Rosie girl, stop it. Remember what happened with the last guy? She felt tears sting her eyes but held back.
"Its really weird, Terra, but have we met before? I feel as if I've meet you before. Only I can't place it."
"Well I use to live in Japan, but I moved away when I was four."
Suddenly it hit him were he had meet Terra before. "Angel?" "OH MY WORD! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
She screamed and threw her arms around him.
And Now for Something Completely Different: Vibrant Academia
Tumblr media
Vibrant Academia is an academic aesthetic similar in theme and style to Light Academia and Pastel Academia, but with brighter hues. It is unusual with the academia aesthetic genre as it is not as subdued in color. Vibrant Academia focuses on the joy of learning and the pursuit of knowledge out of curiosity. There is a particular focus on mental health, wellness, and taking care of your mind that is not typically present in other academic aesthetic. It encourages open and frank discussions of serious mental health disorders and tries to break down stigma. There is also an element of teaching and the enjoyment of passing on your knowledge as well as increasing it through study. Think of the typical batty science professor, nutty art teacher, and/or kooky literature lecturer. Clothing involves the traditional academia motifs, vintage styles (the 50s lends itself well to this subtype due to the more vibrant colouring) waistcoats, berets, tweed, shirts and blouses, cardigans (bonus points for elbow pads), but in brighter hues. There is a love for big, kitschy costume jewellery. Areas of study can include many topics but literature, art, and psychology as well as other sciences are particular themes. Vibrant Academia intentionally celebrates all learning and all academics, regardless of subject, grades, degree level, educational institute, or background (including class, race, sex, (dis)ability, religion, gender/gender identity, sexuality, etc.).
Angel for Earth by Angel of Earth
Chapter 2 - Earth's Guardian
All the senshi gasped at the new scout, mouths wide open and eyes wide.
"So, ugly, wanna play with me?" Sailor Earth jumped and landed a few feet away from the youma.
The youma shot some acid from its mouth which Sailor Earth dodged easily.
"My turn."
Colored energy started to gather in the girl's hands until it formed into the size of a basketball.
"BIOSHERE.....SMASH!" She threw the ball at the youma.
The youma, unable to dodge the attack, screamed and was hit full force, turned to dust. The nails that trapped the senshi disappeared but before they could do anything a heavy mist covered the area and in seconds it was gone along with Sailor Earth.
@->---- Later at the Temple ----<-@
"Luna, do you know anything about this new senshi?" Rei sipped at her tea.
"Well," the cat sat down, "I remember little about Sailor Earth. The guardian of Earth was very rare, and very powerful."
"So is she a friend then, Luna?"
"You can't be sure. Sailor Earth has a different purpose then us, but that's all I can remember. She could be a fake though, so I say it's best if we don't trust her."
"But I thought I was the protector of Earth." said Mamoru.
"I don't know what this means; its all so confusing. Lets call it a night, its almost midnight." Luna got up and walked out the door.
@->---- Elsewhere in Tokyo ----<-@
A small girl steps out of a heavy mist.
One girl runs from the cops.
One sits in the cemetery listening to the dead.
One swims in a cold lake, unaffected.
One floats on a soft breeze.
And Now for Something Completely Different: Vanilla Girl
Tumblr media
The Vanilla Girl aesthetic refers to a popular cultural phenomenon that emerged in the early 2020s and gained significant traction on social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. It embodies a lifestyle and visual aesthetic characterized by simplicity, nostalgia, and a gentle, feminine appeal. The aesthetic is characterized by a minimalist style that revolves around wearing predominantly white and cream shades. This aesthetic extends beyond fashion and encompasses a whole lifestyle focused on comfort and luxury. The trend embraces neutral palette wardrobe essentials, barely-there makeup looks, scented candles, and cozy bedding. The aim is to achieve a natural, yet styled and minimalistic appearance. When executed effectively, the simplistic look can have a transformative effect, as exemplified by the styling in Netflix's "The Watcher", particularly with Naomi Watts' character, Nora Brannock.
Angel for Earth by Angel of Earth
Chapter 1 - New Scout
~*~*~*~
"Class, we will be getting a few new exchange students from the around the world. They are going to introduce themselves to you." stated Ms. Haruna
Two boys and three girls stood in front of the class. First the boys introduced themselves and then the girls.
One of the girls stuck out to Usagi. She seemed familiar to her somehow. She had curly black hair that reached just past her shoulders, was kind of short, and had dark sea-blue eyes. The only person she had ever seen with eyes like those where Mamoru.
Maybe it was just her imagination. She was too far away to really tell what color they were.
The girl took a step forward and introduced herself. "Hello minna. My name is Terra Rose Childs and I'm from the United States. I'm 15 and my hobbies are art, animals, plants, and about any sport there is." she spoke Japanese perfectly.
~*~*~ At Lunch ~*~*~
"Hey did you hear about the new girl, Terra Rose?" Umino's head popped out of nowhere as usual. "I heard she was a witch. Did you notice her eyes change colors every now and then. If she is a witch we should keep out distance. She could be dangerous and put spells on us."
"Can it, Umino." Naru wacked Umino on the head.
Usagi looked around school grounds to see the other exchange students had fit right in, but Terra Rose sat under a tree by herself. Usagi ignored Umino and went to see Terra.
"Hi, Terra Rose. I'm Usagi. I was wondering if you wanted to eat lunch with my friends and me?"
"Sure I would love to, Usagi-san."
"Just call me Usagi-chan."
Just then Ami, Makoto, and Naru came up behind Usagi. She introduced Terra Rose to them.
"So how long have you been here, Terra Rose? You speak Japanese. very well" said Ami
"About three days. I'm originally from Japan. I moved to America when I was four."
~*~*~
After school the girls went to the arcade with Terra Rose where they introduced her to Mokoto, Rei, and Minako. They all sat at the counter waiting for milkshakes. Usagi seemed to be looking around for someone the whole time.
"Usagi-chan, who are you looking for?" asked Terra Rose.
"You'll have to excuse odango, she waiting for her boyfriend."
"DON"T CALL ME ODANGO!! Only my Mamo-chan can call me that!
Terra Rose held her snickers in, "I got to go. I'll see ya tomorrow." and with that she was out the door and gone.
Usagi was on her way home when her communicator went off.
"Usagi we need you in the park. Big, mean, and ugly youmas are back."
"Alright Mercury. I'll be right there. Moon Cosmic Power!"
~*~*~
"Hey ugly! I'm Sailor Moon the Champion of Justice and on behalf of the Moon I will pun-"
Before Sailor Moon could finish her speech she was pinned to the wall. She looked around to see that the other senshi were as well, except Mars who was knocked out, and Tuxedo Kamen who was glued to a tree.
"Now I will destroy you and take you to my master!"
The youma's nails grew out and were just about to go into Sailor Moon when a white rose sliced through the nails.
Everyone gasped with wide eyes and looked up to see a shadowy figure up on a tree branch. The figure stepped out of the shadow to reveal a small girl in a metallic purple and silver senshi fuku. She had black curly hair and wore a mask on her face. All her jewelry was silver, even her tiara which held a clear stone. Her boots were like Jupiter's and her gloves were slightly different. They had one small strip of color where they ended. In the middle of her bow sat a silver locket.
"I am the Guardian of Life and this planet. I am Sailor Earth and on behalf of my planet I will get rid of the evil that threatens it, and that means you."
And Now for Something Completely Different: Unicorncore
Tumblr media
Unicorncore is an aesthetic based on unicorns. This aesthetic gives off colorful and playful vibes, similar to Lil Girl and Yume Kawaii although it can also give off more mature and ethereal vibes depending on how it is done. This aesthetic got slightly popular with younger children and teens from the 2010s to today. One of the most iconic things from this aesthetic was the viral Unicorn Frappuccino, which was available at Starbucks for only a few days in April 2017. This aesthetic can help spread positivity as well. Unicorncore also encompasses magic, purity, Pride, diversity, freedom, innocence, healing, positivity, joy, and hope. Although the Japanese aesthetic Yumekawa and its offshoot, Fairy Kei use a similar color palette and often feature unicorn motifs, they are still their own individual aesthetics which shouldn’t be confused with the western Unicorncore aesthetic. The aesthetic usually incorporates finding unicorns, magic books, and myths about unicorns. People who like this aesthetic tend to love quiet spaces, magical areas, nature, flowers, rainbow paths, and trees. Related visuals and interests are reading, bright colors, glitter, sparkles, and flowers.
Angel for Earth by Angel of Earth
Hi minna,
My name is Earth Angel, but I found out later after I started using it and some people got to know me that someone else already was using it on ASMR. So all my fan fiction and poems on here will be under Angel of Earth. This is my first fan fic so please understand if its not the greatest. Please email me with your comments.
So from my understanding next I put in the disclaimer and my thanks. This story is about Sailor Earth and the Sailor Elements. Thanks to Lady Archanna for putting this up. To Cassy, Alishie, Patrick, Adam, Katie, Madonna, Brittany, Jess, Megan, and Sam, and the rest of my friends from school, love ya. To the rest of the ASMR chat. Sere, Mad, Aurora, Soul, MMJ. Love ya all.
For part one: Hey everyone. I'm so happy to see my first story up. I hope you liked the first part. I kinda drew a blank at how to do this part, but I managed. So I hope you like it. Please e-mail me. I'm using the Japanese names. Also I need Chad's and Greg's too. I you know please e-mail me. Oh and I forgot this takes place after Sailor Moon S.
For part two: (12-24-00) Happy Holidays. I hope you enjoy this chapter. Please e-mail me. So far I would like to thank the person that has e-mailed me. Thank You, Marilyn and Amy for writing! Thank You again LA! I still need to know Greg and Chad's Japanese names. Please email me. I'm sorry its short. Santa brought me an early Christmas gift, a fever. I was running a temp of 102.4 on Friday. So I'm not feeling my best and I don't feel like writing much, but this is the only day I can get it in before the deadline this week. Plus, I have some company coming tomorrow and the next day so I have to clean house. My room is a MESS. I DONT WANTTA CLEAN!! WAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
For part three: (12/29/00) HI MINNA!!!!! This is a longer chapter. It might have been longer but I have company and I wanted this out this week because the first few chapters were short. I hope you like it. There is some thought in this chapter so I used *s to show when someone is thinking. I know that they introduce their names backwards in Japan, but I don't care I'm writing it like we do here in the U.S. I hope to start writing from Terra Rose's view soon. But there has to be some mystery in the new girl. Hahahahahahahahah! Cliff Hanger. I know I hate them too, but it's a good way to get someone to come back next week. It was just a good place to stop. I was going to put more in but not enough time. Next week find out how Motoki and Terra Rose know each other. And if I have enough time to get chapter five out find out how Ivy and Terra Rose meet and what Ivy really is. PLEASE EMAIL ME!!
For part four: (1/1/01) WARNING READ THIS: I'm writing from Terra's perspective. Flash Backs are in third person, and there are a lot of flash backs. This chapter I decided to do Terra's past in. If anyone here has not figured out already that Terra was the girl in the prologue and that she is Sailor Earth, now you know. There is a reason that Terra Rose calls herself Rosie in her mind. You'll find out now. All the new characters will have American names. I just don't have the greatest sources when it comes to Japanese names. And on the note of names, Terra's first name isn't Terra Rose. She does have a Japanese name. I'm just working on it. I'm not making much sense. It'll all work itself out in due time. Please e-mail me. Thanks to the five people who emailed me. I have tried to reply to those that have written me. If you never got my letter or got one too many letters, I'm sorry. I'm having a hard time sending emails through my Sailor Moon address. Email me. PLEASE!! My mailbox is hungry. That's it. For this chapter.
For part five: I know that this chapter and the last are small. I've been busy and I rewrote chapter 4 and 5. I had it all worked out and then changed it. So I'm kinda short on words. I was going to put Motoki in Alex's place, but then I thought that wouldn't seem right. Of course then the next part that you are about to read never would have happened. But anyways on with the show. That's it. I know its not much. But the end of the week has come so fast. I've been busy with play rehearsal and I don't really know what to add. I'll have 6 in next week.
For part six: (1/14/01) Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, I didn't make the deadline to have this out last week. But I've been busy. SO I WROTE A LONG CHAPTER. I ran out of memory even though I started another story, and I'm going to be co-authoring another story. Plus I have finals and play rehearsal, so please understand. And if you want to yell at me for starting another story and not getting this chapter out sooner, go ahead. I hit a block so I wrote the other story at the beginning of the week so I could work out this story in my mind. Please read my other story. And email me to know what you think. My stories will be going up at another site I'll give you the address. I don't know if you'll be able to read the chapters sooner there or what. Please email me and let me know what do you think. In this chapter you get a new character and get to find out a little about what is in those books of Terra's and some of the history of the Elements and their princess. You also get to find out what Ivy is. Yes, I know she is a shapeshifter but that isn't what she is exactly. My stories are also going up at www.prettyserenity.com Another thing is that the rating is changing. This story started out kinda slow and now we are getting into the darker side of things. Please, if you're a younger kid, bail out now! Please don't Flame me. I haven't gotten any yet, but I did get a AIM that said, and I quote: "You're stupid". I'm sorry, but that is a stupid remark. You know who you are. Please don't AIM me again. I MISS YOU SUNNY!! All of you that got to meet Sunny in the chat room, she says write to her at her Sailor Moon address. She can't get to the other one. Hey, if anyone ever wants to talk to me you can find me on Talk City Chat in the ASMRchat. My name in there is Earth_Angel_001, I haven't been there lately, but I plan to start coming more. There is more. SEE I TOLD YOU IT WAS LONG! This chapter makes up for missing last weeks deadline. I was wondering, what do you think of what happened in the last chapter. How do you feel about Solar Flare. Do you guys know who he is yet??? Cuz if you don't I won't go giving it away so soon. I'm going to be bringing in some new characters soon. Email me. Also sometime I realize that I put in the senshi's English names and if you see them in the story I'm sorry. I'm just use to using the English names. I'M STARTING RIGHT WHERE I LEFT OFF! Terra's point of view and everything. The maze in the last chapter was important.. I shouldn't give hints like this, but I can't help it. You won't find out why the maze was so important until later on in the story though. That is it. I don't have the time to add anymore. I will have more next week. Who do ya think Solar Flare is? Just email me and tell me please. For next week I hope to have a new character in. I HOPE. No promises.
For part seven: (1/29/01) Gomen. I didn't get this chapter out last week, people. I didn't even start it until Sunday. Major writer's block. I had three options and I didn't know which one I wanted to write. Today you get a new character and has Usagi found someone to replace replace Mamoru? I'm not sure if I have to do this, but I don't own Mr. Wonka. I really wish I did, then I could have all the chocolate in the world and be on a major sugar rush with all my friends, then again my friends might take the candy away from me. I can get a little to hyper. I have only gotten one reply on the: "WHO DO YOU THINK SOLAR FLARE IS?" question. Its a very important question. I need to know who you think it is because it helps me decide what's going to happen next and how long I should wait to tell you his identity. So what do you all think? :::Hehe::: ya get it??? Please tell me you get it. Actually the whole blowing up the lab experiment is true. I did that last year in IPS. Nobody wanted to be my lab partner after that. I was burning the stuff in the test tube with the thermometer and I just let the thing burn even when there was hardly nothing in the tube and the whole thing just blew up. Glass flew everywhere, smoke came billowing out and it made such a noise the science teacher in the other room came running in. Alright, I'm sure you don't want to hear this...back to the story.
AN: I describing Terra's room because I'm bored. I was going to call Solar Flare the Sunlight Knight, ya get it? I wanted to be original though. Also, hehehe.. breeches, such a funny old word. I prefer pants, but hey it was the olden days. Also, also, can you smell the rain? I can and I can also feel when its going to rain. Not in my bones or anything. Its just a feeling. I'm just curious how many people can smell rain coming. Email me if you do. And DON'T THINK SECRET GARDEN when Terra runs away! Sports, the thing that bonds men together no matter what the differences, sports bring them together it seems.
Disclaimer: Sailor Moon belongs to it's creator and all those companies that bought rights to it. Sailor Earth and the Sailor Elements are mine and anymore made up character that happen to come up along the way. Now on to the show.
Prologue
A small girl about the age of three or four, with short, spiral midnight black hair and eyes as black as night was being wheeled into a hospital on a gurney. Tears streamed down her face.
"Where is my brother? What happened to my parents?"
But still the people over her would not answer.
"Where are they? Tell me?"
But they remained silent.
Her eyes refused to stay open and she slipped away into sleep. Later, she is in a hospital room. The doctors enter.
"I'm sorry to tell you that your parents didn't make it. You were lucky you came out with a few bruises. Since you have no know relatives you will have to live in an orphanage."
Tears fall freely down the little girls face, "What about my brother?"
At this the doctor looks at her funny. "Sweetie, you don't have a brother."
The girl's eyes widen, "I do too have a brother! I do! He saved me. Your lying! You just want to separate us!" The girl falls down sobbing on her bed.
"You'll leave for the orphanage tomorrow. I want to run a few more tests."
And Now for Something Completely Different: Teethcore
Tumblr media
Teethcore is an aesthetic centered around teeth, mainly the collection or loss of them. This aesthetic also includes the thought of being scared of the dentist. One of the common parts of Teethcore is the fantasy figure known as the Tooth Fairy, a legendary being; it is believed if one places their baby teeth under a pillow, the Tooth Fairy will take it, and leave money in place of the tooth. Because of the creature's 'suspicious activity', it has lead to strange theories. But, because many believe the creature is not real, these theories can not be proven true or false.
'Tis the Season by Andrea Readwolf and Kate Butler
Santa's Little Helpers
*Reeny*
It all started innocently enough. I know, I know, that seems very funny--me talking about innocence, and not doing anything wrong, but I mean it this time. Really, I do... Okay, um...Maybe I'm not all that innocent.
You see, each and every year, Harbor Elementary kids sign up to do nice things for poor people during the holiday season. And this year, me, Reeny--the new kid, the strange kid--got stuck with the one job that no one wanted. Playing Santa and his elves in a stupid Christmas pageant at the orphanage. And that was how it all started...
*Darien*
I was walking down the street, minding my own business, trying to think up the easiest way to avoid Serena and still make it to work on time. And that was when a young voice yelled out to me.
"Darien! Darien!"
I whirled around, not sure whether I would see a little pink-headed girl with an intent to claim me, or if I would have my blonde ex-girlfriend run up and beg me for her eternal forgiveness--Serena and Reeny sound so much alike sometimes, it's really, really frightening. But--and I sighed in relief at this--it was the former (Reeny), smiling up at me with those naively innocent red eyes that I so adore.
"How are you, Darien?" she asked in a sugary-sweet tone. That meant only one thing. She wanted something.
Crouching down, I smiled pleasantly at the child. "Hi, Teeny- Reeny. It's so nice to see you."
"Yeah, well...." Scuffing her little white shoes together, she stared at me. "Darien, will you help me with something?"
Ah, the kiss of death. "Uhh...what do I need to help you with?" If it involved Serena, the other Sailor Scouts, certain talking cats, or anything curry, I wasn't going to help.
Period.
As cranky as it sounds, it's true.
"All you have to do," she assured me sweetly, "is to dress up like Santa and then do a play with me." She sniffled softly. "Please?"
Me? In a play? I should have said no. But those big, cinnamon eyes...and that cute little button nose...not to mention her absolutely adorable pink meatball hair...
"Uh...sure..." I stammered, cursing cute children in general.
*Serena*
"Come on, Serena! Lighten up!"
I stuck out my tongue and proceeded to use Sailor Moon's death kick on Sailor Mars. "Ha ha!" I laughed triumphantly. "Three games in a row, Sammy! Beat THAT!"
Pouting, my younger brother turned off the video game and crossed his arms. "I don't want to play with you anymore!"
Sticking my nose into the air, I stood up and put my hands upon my hips--very smugly. I had been trying for weeks to beat him at that game. "You're just jealous!"
The reaction I got from Sammy was like rubbing salt in a large and open wound. "You're such a dweeb!" he shot back, standing and giving me the evil eye. "You wouldn't know true courage and power if it knocked you in your fat butt!"
Growling, I lowered my eyes dangerously. "Yeah?"
"Yeah!" Sammy shot back.
"Oh yeah?"
"YEAH!"
Just then, I became aware of someone tugging on my denim skirt. And, when I looked from my now angry brother and downward, an overwhelming urge to gag. "What do you want, spore?" I asked Reeny in what I supposed to be an annoyed tone.
She sniffled. "Can I talk to you about a...a school project?"
Like what? Toasting human brains? "Uh..." Chewing on my lower lip, I considered it. Sure, she was an incredibly evil little spawn, but she was cute...and near tears...
"What project, Reeny?" She grinned. I guess that I had given myself away that easily. I was trapped as soon as that cute little smile crossed her face and made its way to me.
Trapped.
Completely cornered.
"It's a play," she explained sweetly. "For school. At the orphanage. We need two elves, a Mrs. Claus, a Christmas angel, a sweet little girl, and an Ice Princess."
Some play. But I sighed and nodded slowly; after all, I was trapped. And, besides, don't you think that the Princess of the Moon would make a stunning Christmas angel?
*Amy*
"X equals the opposite of B, plus or minus the square root..." Trailing off, I chewed on the pencil eraser thoughtfully.
No, that couldn't be right.
As the sun shone down on me, I shivered a bit. Since I'm so attuned to ice and water, I forget too often where I am and what I am doing. In this instance, for example, I was doing my college-level algebra homework on the balcony... In below freezing temperatures.
Grabbing my books, I chided myself for such foolish behaviors. I may be a friend to all water, but that doesn't mean that I'm immune to hypothermia.
As I walked back into the apartment, I heard a knock at the door. This was an extremely unusual occurrence because the other Sailor Scouts rarely visit my at home. This does get lonely, but it is the truth. Opening the door a crack, I saw the familiar pink-haired child who--for some reason that I've yet to understand--has taken a shining to me. I let her in, smiling involuntarily. As much as some of us like to deny it, the child is instant sunshine.
"Hi, Amy!" announced Reeny, hugging my legs. "I'm happy to see you!"
A bit perplexed at the sudden embrace, I pulled away and went to find the cookies Lita had made for me. "Hello, Reeny," I greeted her, glad to have someone in the otherwise empty apartment. "What brings you all the way over here?"
Her face turned very serious. "Fate."
Fate? "An interesting answer from such a little girl," I informed her, furrowing my brow and handing her a cookie. "Do you need help?"
Well, it turned out she did. Something about a play for orphans, and she really needed a graceful and beautiful ice princess. I had quite an urge to turn her down and refuse all inclusion. I'm no actress, and I will not parade around, pretending to be one. However, I am the Princess of Mercury, and an Ice Princess by default. "Sure, Reeny," I sighed sweetly. "I'll do it."
*Raye*
"Sleigh bells--like--ring... Are ya listen'? In the--like-- lane... Snow's glistenin'... A totally beautiful sight, we're all happy ta-night... Walkin' in a winter--like--wonderland..."
As Chad sung his screwed-up version of "Winter Wonderland", I covered my ears and sighed miserably. Queen Beryl would have died at the sound of his beach-bum voice, but I...I, much stronger a person than that evil Queen... I screamed.
"STOP SINGING THAT STUPID SONG!!!"
There was momentary silence, and I let out a long, shuddering breath because of it. The quiet was so...so astounding... I wanted to cry out in sick, sick joy. And then, Chad called across the temple courtyard to me, his face twisted in an impish grin as he tightened some of the electric guitar strings.
"You don't like that song, Raye?" he asked me, a bit of evil echoing in his voice. "I'll sing a different one."
"No?" I attempted, my head still poking out of the living room door.
A chord was played, and Chad--the jerk--cleared his throat. "Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is-like—so delightful... And we ain't got no place ta go... Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow..."
Sliding the door shut angrily, I groaned. Why me? WHY ME? Here I am--talented, beautiful, and hand maiden to a blonde princess—and I'm stuck spending Christmas with Chad! Kill me now!
As I laid down on the couch and listened to the hard-rock version of "Let it Snow", the phone rang. I didn't want to--or feel like--answer it. Sighing in defeat, I listened to the machine.
"Hi, this is the Hino residence and Cherry Hill Temple. We're not answering the phone right now, so leave a message." There was an obnoxious beep as the incoming call connected with the tape recorder, and then... I heard a voice that I really didn't expect. After all, Serena's the one who usually leaves the annoying messages...
Stuff like "Hi, this is Serenity, and I think Endymion is sexy. Have a nice day!"... But this--this was unusual.
"Hey, Raye? This is Reeny. Uh...I was wondering if you'd like to play Mrs. Claus in this play we're putting on at school. Please?" I heard her sniffle, which was a patented way to convince me to cave in and join a cause.
I sighed and picked up the phone. "Reeny, this is Raye," I spoke into the receiver, drawing an elated yelp from the little girl. "Of course, I'll help."
She thanked me about sixty times and hung up.
As I put down the phone, I heard more silence, and I smiled. Then, it started again.
"Like--Deck them halls with lots a holly. Fa la la la la...la la, la la!"
"CHAD!"
*Lita*
I didn't see it coming--yes, I am complaining, because I am extremely upset--but I didn't FREAKING see it coming!
Mina's mom and dad were out of town for Christmas, so I had offered to come and stay over at her place for a couple of days. You know, twenty-four hour girl talk with all the fringe--and fridge-- benefits. So, anyway, we were setting up the tree when the doorbell rang and Artemis, bless his furry soul, decided to check the door for us while I wrestled with the lights from hell and while Mina sorted the sea of old ornaments. He came back with a frightened look on his white face.
"It's Reeny," the cat announced to us.
Nearly tripping over a never-ending string of bright orange lights, I raised an eyebrow. "Huh?"
"You heard me," Artemis shot back, skidding to a halt before a large gold ball-shaped decoration. "And she wants to talk to you two."
"You answered the door?" inquired Mina, raising her eyebrows.
He made a face. "No, Mina," he told her, shaking his head. "I pretended to be your father and told her to hang on. So GO!"
Both jumping at the sudden exclamation, Mina and I made our way to the front door, not knowing what to expect.
*Mina*
We had no clue what to expect, as Lita said. Leading the little kid into my (messy) living room, I started to day-dream about what it could possibly be. A secret Scout spy mission? The return of Sailor V to network television? Time to get Darien and Serena back together? Or maybe, just maybe, little Reeny was a Sailor Soldier in training and THAT'S why...
Okay, I have got to cut down on the brownies. Remind me to hide Lita's recipe.
As we sat down on the couch, careful not to smash any Christmas lights, ornaments, or plates, Reeny sniffled a little. She was conning us into something. I knew it right then and there. She was up to know good! Yeah, well, I'm Sailor V! So there!
"I have this really important play to do for the orphanage," she told us sweetly, in a voice that was impossibly innocent. "And I need two actresses like you to play Christmas elves..."
"Actresses...like...US?" I stuttered, taken aback by the compliment.
Lita crossed her arms. "I will NOT play an elf!"
The girl nodded, pigtails bobbing. "Oh, Mina, you're such a great actress!" she grinned. "You make Sailor V look like a flake!"
I blushed a bit. "Really?"
"I will not be an elf!" repeated Lita, who was being ignored.
"Yep! You're great!" cooed Reeny.
I was in. Hands down.
*Lita*
Okay, I'm five-foot-FREAKING-six! I'm not an elf! How dare she? Who does she think she is, the little brat? I have half a mind to...
"I'd love to help you, sweetie," smiled Mina lovingly, patting the little head. "I can't wait to play an elf."
Damn. Mina had been conned into being an elf. That meant only one thing--I was next. I'm the...determined...Scout. And I was NOT letting Reeny get away with this.
"Lita?" she asked.
"No."
"Please?"
"Nope."
"It's for poor kids, Lita."
"I'll bake them cookies."
"What will I do without a second elf?"
"You play the elf." She was starting to get to me. I could feel it.
"I'm playing the cute little girl."
"Well, Mina can play the part of two elves."
"But the elves go on strike in the play."
"SO?" I knew that, if I didn't get my way soon, I was as good as gone.
"So, I need another elf."
"But, Reeny..."
She sighed sadly, as though my decision would make or break her entire life.
"Fine," I told her, pounding my fist on the coffee table. "I'll do it!"
She cheered, and I knew that this was going to be the worst choice I had ever...EVER...made.
(One Week Later)
*Reeny*
"I am the angel of Christmas, and I have come to take this little girl home to her family," Serena announced loudly, struggling with the cloth wings.
Raye growled as her apron fell off again. "But, Angel," she said in a sweet tone. "This little girl is actually an elf."
"An elf?" asked Mina and Lita in unison, going through the costume box and taking anything green out for their outfits.
"An elf," Darien assured us all, not looking up from his script.
I could tell that Serena's presence bothered him, and I felt bad. Really, I did. But it was the DAY before the PLAY, people! I couldn't change anything now! No one liked doing the play. Well, it started because I had hand-written the whole script, which Amy had deemed inappropriate... I didn't see what was so wrong with Mrs. Claus killing one of the elves in a blind rage. But Amy said that it had to be good for little kids. So much for ME being a little kid.
And then--though this was all my fault, I admit--we couldn't find any cute outfits in Lita's size. Every pair of elf pants were three sizes too short! She looked like a total idiot, and I blame it (mostly) on myself.
The problem, though, was solved when Darien went through his closet and found pants from when he was Peter Pan in the ninth grade. Then, Mina got a cold and lost her voice for three days. Enough said. So much for Santa's little helpers, eh?
"Yes, she is an elf. The daughter of the ice princess." Raye smiled and crossed her hands.
I waited for Amy to come out onto our make-shift stage, but she didn't.
Raye's smile turned into a frown. "I said, THE DAUGHTER OF THE ICE PRINCESS!"
No one appeared. Oh, dear.
*Amy*
I don't like this, and I don't want to be an actress. Humoring Reeny was great, don't get me wrong, but I just can't act. It's so...so...SO scary. Me, Sailor Mercury, scared to death. Yeah.
"The daughter of the Ice Princess."
I recognized my cue and sighed, sinking lower into the cushioned chair that I had taken up as a seat. It was nerve-wracking, really. I was not playing an ice princess. End of story.
*Raye*
"WHERE IS SHE?" I fumed, anger boiling within my veins. "WHERE IN HEAVEN'S NAME IS SHE? I'LL RIP HER THROAT OUT!"
Feeling one of Mina's hands on my shoulder, I took a very deep breath and cracked my knuckles.
"Sorry," I said in a slightly regretful tone. "I didn't want to over-react."
"But you did," pointed out Serena softly. "You really, really, really, REALLY--"
"Enough," I told her, rolling my eyes. "Can I go find Amy?"
Reeny stepped forward, a slight smile on her face. "You know what?" she inquired softly, with a thoughtful touch to her voice. "This is sort of my fault... It's my play and all..."
"No shit," I muttered unconsciously.
"Yeah, well, I'll make it better if you don't mind," she offered helpfully, running off before any of us could stop her.
Smart girl. I must say. She's a smart kid.
*Darien*
As I slumped into an empty chair, I sighed. There, just a few feet away, was my little meatball head... Giggling, laughing, and having a blast just being the Christmas angel she really was. What a person that Serena was. So sweet and loving... Nothing like I am right now.
What is a dream? A dream is just a night time vision, right? Then why do I let a dream stand in the way of happiness. If only I could hold my Serena, and tell her I loved her. That's a dream too, isn't it?
Reeny, the little imp, ran off to find Amy. Lita, clad in my Peter Pan pants and a too-small green tank top, is standing around with Mina, talking loudly about some boy. Serena and Raye are discussing manga... And then, there's me. Thrown into a chair, wearing a too-big Santa costume, staring blankly at a golden haired Princess when I should be studying my script and becoming a better Santa Claus. I can't have my angel. Merry Christmas indeed!
*Reeny*
I really wonder what's wrong with Amy. She's sitting in the dressing room all alone, a sad smile across her face. Her eyes are closed, so she doesn't see me. I sort of wish she'd look at me, because I think she's crying. My angle's bad, so I really can't tell right now. I think she's crying. Over my silly play? Come on! That couldn't be it.
"Amy?"
Tossing her head of blue hair to one side, she brings a hand to her face and I see it--a big blue tear falling into the palm of her hand. She was crying! Over me.
"Are you okay?" I asked, climbing into her lap. "I can see you're sad."
She blinked and smiled a bit. "I'm just not a very good actor, Reeny," she admitted to me.
I grinned. "You're bad?" I inquired. "Serena just reads off the script, and Mina prances around the stage like a brazen idiot." Sighing, I patted one of her hands. "But there's something about you that makes you a great ice princess."
She laughed at this. "I've always liked water, Reeny."
"Good!" I announced, jumping down and trying to pull her out of the seat. "Let's go, okay?"
*Amy*
Pure sunshine. Reeny can be a brat, and she has this very...sly...side to her, but the child is instant sunshine. She makes me want to cry, and then, she makes me want to smile. This whole "ice princess" thing... who cares? It's for children; it's for Christmas. It's for my little dose of sunshine.
You know, I've saved her life time and again, always wondering what was so special about that child. She's so sweet and brave, to go against the evil sisters and to attempt to find her mother and the Silver Crystal in a world she's so unfamiliar with.
"Okay," I agreed with a nod.
She took my hand, and I swore I felt it. Sunshine.
(The Next Day)
*Lita*
"ARGH!" Pulling on the little green skirt (to go over the skin-tight and too revealing pants), I groaned. It didn't fit anymore!
"Mina!" I yelled to my friend. "What did you make these skirts out of?"
"Cotton, 'the fabric of our wives'...no...how does that go?" She clasped her skirt and began pulling her expertly curled hair into tiny ringlets.
"Unwashed cotton?" I inquired, looking at her suspiciously.
She nodded. "Yeah, why?" she asked. "I didn't have time to wash the fabric, and then, I ran out of time to wash my skirt...Did you wash yours?"
Yes, Mina. THAT'S why the damn thing doesn't fit any more! Cursing my blonde friend, I cut one of the seams and made the skirt fit around my evil, evil hips. Stupid skirt. Stupid play. Stupid, stupid Reeny.
*Serena*
"Where are my wings?" I asked, looking through the costume box again. "I could have sworn I left them at the orphanage..."
Zipping up one of the two side-zippers to her blue gown, Amy looked doubtfully at me. "Didn't you take them home last night?" she inquired, tugging on the other zipper.
Oh, yeah, THOSE wings. Blushing, I gulped. "I don't suppose that you have a pair of white angel wings on you?"
Amy shook her head. Some help SHE was. "Oh, okay," I sighed, pulling out my white angel dress and slipping it on over my frilly pink slip. "Just checking..."
I was screwed.
*Darien*
"Ho ho ho..."
Looking around, I sighed. Reeny had finally left, leaving me to myself. "Ho ho, flipping ho..."
No Serena this Christmas. I was with her for HOW long in my past life? Then, I get back to this life, die AGAIN, and end up without her. All because of a dream. Are dreams really worth it?
Just then, there was a knock on the dressing room door, and Serena paraded in, fully clothed in her costume, except for the wings.
"Uh, hi," she grimaced, gulping. "Have you seen my wings?"
I thought she looked great, wings or not. The angel dress was a silky, white, tight thing, and it looked so very incredible, I almost drooled.
"Sorry...no..." I stammered, cracking my knuckles nervously. "Didn't you take them home?"
She nodded, closing the door slowly behind her.
Some Christmas.
*Mina*
I cleared throat and practiced the song over again. "Ho ho, freaking ho, what a crock of ick... We used to work for Santa, but we've had enough... We quit! Cause we do all the freaking work while he stars in the show... Shove your Christmas, go away, and ho ho freaking ho!"
Taking one last look at the script, I tossed it into the garbage can and smiled. There's a certain part of me that just comes alive at the mere thought of acting. It's amazing, really, to watch me when it's time to act. I get all jittery and excited, and there's this rush--like a super sugar high--that over comes me. And I live. I really, really, live. And this was show time.
*Raye*
As I struggled with the apron, I sighed. You know what? As much as I want to be a voice actress, a singer, and a dancer, I don't want to play Mrs. Claus in this play. Poor Serena had lost her wings. Lita's skirt fit wrong, which wasn't a big deal--it was to her, though. Darien was a mess because of his Princess' presence. Mina was wired for sound. Amy had overcome a case of stage fright, and Reeny was nowhere to be found.
I know, the spirit of Christmas is real. I've felt it; I really have. I've lived the spirit of Christmas. I've saved lives, defeated evil, and protected my Princess from all the silly things that we've had to fight. And now, it comes back to haunt me by making me play old Mrs. Santa Claus in a children's play. I hadn't signed up for this, but I was conned into it by a strange little girl. A girl who fell out of the sky and beamed the brains out of my best friend. A girl who has caused Darien to ditch his one and only girlfriend, Serena. But I really can't say I'd quit. Sometimes, no matter how much you hate something, you have to do it.
Even if it is for a strange little girl.
*Reeny*
Everything was perfect.
Well, okay, so I'm a good liar. Serena lost her wings, Darien was cranky, Lita's skirt had a slit in one of the seams because it was too tight otherwise, Mina was so excited that we had to lock her in a closet (literally), Amy—over her stage fright--was too busy practicing her part to notice all of us, Raye had developed a pessimistic outlook on the whole play thing...and then, there was me. Being the writer is never easy. I took this project because I had to. If I had known how much this would have affected each and every one of my friends, do you think I'd have gotten them to do this?
No way!
So, here I was... clad in a tiny, sky-blue dress, my waist length hair falling down to my shoulders before being caught in a big, loose braid, holding a fake candy cane in one hand and a script in the other.
"Santa's Little Helpers," I read aloud off the script. "Whether we mean well and fail, hope and pray for tomorrow, find our own ways out, wait for this moment all our lives, overcome ourselves, or realize the real reasoning behind things, that's us. The little helpers."
Walking out of her dressing room, Serena looked thoughtfully down at me with her big blue eyes. Reminded me of my mom. "You wrote that, Reeny?"
I nodded a little, smiling. "It's the beginning of the play. I put it on this copy so I wouldn't forget the most important part."
The rest of the actors--better known as my best friends--came up to me, ready to do one of the little things that made Christmas so very special and wonderful.
"Is there anything else?" asked Amy, referring to my words.
I smiled knowingly. "Christmas is about making someone else's life brighter, and this has made my life brighter. In a million ways... plus one."
I looked at each of my friends... Sweet Serena. Always caring, though cold, Darien. The genius, Amy. Our tough Lita. The bubbly, free-spirited Mina.
"Thank you all," I told them. "And merry Christmas."
*End.*
And Now for Something Completely Different: Cloudcore
Tumblr media
Cloudcore visuals have a strong focus on skies with clouds of unique shapes and designs. Most popularly, Cloudcore visuals are often taken around sunrise or sunset for varied colors or the plain blue sky to highlight the clouds' shapes. Because of clouds' associations with softness and purity of color, the photos are often saved to Kawaii, Softie, Cleancore, and Angelcore blogs. Artificially painted or digitally rendered clouds are also in the tag, specifically as a subset of liminal space and other unsettling aesthetics.
