Canberra has baby quolls and bettongs at Mulligans Flat sanctuary.
And Brian Bettong even has his own Twitter account to post his family photos.

Naawwwww... Belconnen coppers love their baby blue tongue lizards. 26 babies already this year!
From their FB
I love how even the local police here really care about their environment. They’re releasing their excess supply of Police Station Mascots into other suitable parts of Canberra, helping the critters grow their colony. You gotta go read the story, it will make your little heart explode.

Went out on the weekend for my sister’s birthday and the bar in the Hamlet on Lonsdale Street made me a very nice gin & tonic using this - locally made gin from The Canberra Distillery. Well fancy that!

Snow at Corin Forest just outside Canberra. BYO toboggan or hire there. Bobsled in summer when the snow is all gone. http://www.corin.com.au/

Yep, that is a knife sticking out of a cooked dead beast (on the plate of one of my dining buddies). With beers at Zierholz brewery in Fyshwick. http://www.zierholz.com.au/

Here's how a classy hipster night out works in Canberra: 1. Beers at Bentspoke. Possibly the Descent which is super high alcohol but also very tasty. Then fill up the traveller to take home. http://www.bentspokebrewing.com.au/ 2. Eats at The Hamlet around the corner on Lonsdale St. Possibly churros with chocolate sauce. https://m.facebook.com/pages/The-Hamlet/444410755700006 In twenty years, Canberrans will be reminiscing about their uni student days doing this the way we old folks currently get nostalgic about Wig & Pen beers followed by chips & gravy from Chicken Gourmet.

How I feel after eating at Grease Monkey - burgers & beers & terrifyingly good hot jam donuts with ice cream on Lonsdale Street. FYI I had a shop on Lonsdale St before it was cool, when Grease Monkey was a mechanic workshop next door to a used car yard. http://thefoodavenue.com/grease-monkey-first-look-and-menu/

Updating to entice @sunrisesister to visit our fine city. This is from The Hamlet's FB https://m.facebook.com/pages/The-Hamlet/444410755700006 Best visited after dark for hipster eats & DJ. I see lots of folks BYO six pack from the bottlo across the road. Also good for churros after much beer consumption at Bentspoke about a block away.

I would quite like to just camp out at Floriade for the month.

Green energy? Old cars spring to life at the Floriade festival.

This guy turns up all over Canberra with his woolly friends. I've also spotted them driving down Northbourne Avenue - well he was driving, the beastie was in the back seat.

Beats taking the dogs for a walk!

I was at this coffee shop today, it's one of my faves.

Umbrella and awning view by the Bora Bora Beach Club at Collioure beach, South of France.
Nah, it’s an umbrella and awning view by the coffee window at 23 Lonsdale Street Roasters, Braddon.

This. Plus one of the nicest restaurants I've ever been to is in one of those photos. And one of my favourite bars. And so many other things. I love.

We may not have Bourke St mall, but there's always something in Garema Place or at Dickson Woolies

Glen Harvey busking at the Dickson Shops. Tough gig in the chill of winter although Glen mentions that Canberra is one of the best (most generous) places in Australia to busk.
