why am i so bad at this now.
i blame crossfit.
over this christmas break i have seen
the hobbit - loved it. dont care what anyone else says. it was fantastical, exciting, and i loved the goblins.
jack reacher - pretty good, good suspense building film, tom cruise is a great actor.
this is forty - enjoyed this film as well, shows the perils of being 40, kinda made me REALLY scared to grow old. not sure if that is a good thing really.
django unchained - good film. too long though, theres parts where its like is this the end? but it was not, i think i was hungry and cold and sick.
new year's resolution. get better at movie blogging.

movies. long overdue.
quick rundown.
looper.
ONE of my favorites this year because it was so unexpected. so slickly done, the effects, the story, the camera angles. just an overall FASCINATING film that really keeps to on the edge of your seat the entire time.
argo.
great film. very informative, gripping, ben affleck does a great job in reflecting true life events without blowing this up into mega hollywood style. simplistically directed, i really enjoyed this film.
sinister.
good build up of suspense. not SCARY persay. just what the children did were kinda scary in itself. not a bad movie though... just not terribly frightening.
end of watch.
SUCH a good film about policemen and the LAPD and their first person viewpoint on how they go about their day. very nitty gritty, seems very REAL and also def one of my fav films of the year.
let me in.
chole grace moretz is a weird vampire baby. crazy movie. dark, dunno if i TRULY enjoyed it. Hmmm.
THATS it for now. i will update SOON about wreck it ralph and man with the iron fists :D BETTER posts. i promise.

pitch perfect. sounds good to me :)
so i was lucky enough to watch a preview screening of this film last night (monday night the 24th). actually i was supposed to see it last wednesday night which wouldve been IDEAL, but we got to the glendale cinemas too late. ohwell. kinda sad to have missed the packers/seahawks showdown hail mary debacle. BUT, at least this film was super funny, sweet and since I love singing and mashups and music - definitely up my alley.
film is basically about how this angsty teenager starts college and has fears opening up to the world and other people. shes an aspiring dj (mashup artist?) meets a bunch of misfits, gets a deal with dad to join a club and be able to move to la and live her dreams. meets other intern hot boy who also HAPPENS to be in rival singing male club whereby you will be condemned from the group if you have any relations with the rival group. typical kind of set up for a romcom + singing.
misfits are always fun to watch because you want them to succeed and band together. in this case it took them a long time to do so, i was waiting and waiting for something crazy to happen, but it only really happened in the end, story wise. BUT rebel wilsons one liners throughout the entire film were HILARIOUS. and my favourite part of the film was the riff off. ugh. i just love good singers, talent is too attractive, even if it is god given and you didnt earn the right to have amazing pipes.
loved this film .. so so funny :)

“We accept the love we think we deserve.”
i had the privilege of watching this film with a really sweet friend of mine jeniffer. we never get to hang out that much and due to being plans not happening AGAIN for the second week with someone else i ended up having dinner at a BOMB place and seeing an amazing movie with a great friend.
basically it is about a high school boy who has struggles fitting in. he writes to an imaginary person, is constantly frustrated, scared quiet and sweaty. slowly the story begins to unveil to reveal why he acts the way he does, what motivates his seemingly "weird behaviors".
what causes his this film as an indie feel to it. but it went by really quickly, i really REALLY like how they juxtaposed the present and past in the movie. it really gave the audience the sense of charlie's struggles with the world and i felt like it happeend at the right time, like when there were flashbacks, it gave us JUST enough information to piece together what was happening but not giving away the entire story till the very end.
the character development in this film was spectacular. especially charlie, that actor is GREAT. it really takes you back to a time when you felt out of place in the world and at some point EVERYONE has felt that way. takes you back to a time where you feel like you are unworthy... and you watch him deal with those feelings like any normal person would. it just all felt so REAL to me. thats why i think i really enjoyed the film.
“We accept the love we think we deserve.” true say. i mean i even struggle to make sense of this quote. why do you DESERVE to be loved? whose to say one deserves more love than another person, IF any. i think we all seek to be loved and want that to be reciprocated but as life as taught me... it is INDEED a struggle to always be on the same page as someone else, regardless of any relationship.
anyhoo thats my two cents. go see the film, i thought the ending was unexpected. i didnt know how to feel. i loved it.

tired?
i have been awful at blogging i know. but i resolve to be better at it.
i have seen MAGIC MIKE, ted and BRAVE and most recently Dark Knight Rises. I saw the midnight screening for that film and whilst I was complaining about the 40mins it was taking us to get out of the parking lot, people were nursing injuries for the inexplicable shooting that took place in Aurora Colorado. It literally baffles me how someone could have the capacity to commit such a senseless act. Highly unnecessary to hurt people, especially innocent strangers who have done nothing to hurt you. but i guess as the trial unfolds, we will begin to understand his thinking, his mindset and hopefully why he did this. it's too hard to asses someones upbringing and what brings them to this point of ultimate desperation. because this was definitely a sign of desperation on all accounts, desperate to be heard, desperate to make a scene, desperate for attention. James Holmes with the starky red hair, what happened? :( my heart goes out to everyone that lost a loved one or anyone involved...
tired of all this gun bullshit. seriously, this is NOT a matter of violence in the dark knight or whatever, most, and i say most being the 99% can tell the difference between fact and fiction. its the accessibility of guns and how I, can go online and but 100 rounds of bullets to fire at anyone i please. SORT THAT OUT so we dont have to live in fear anymore.. please? it took 3 bullets to kill innocent students at USC, and rounds of bullets and a jammed gun to injure about 80 people and kill 12 last thursday... what will it take for the USA to tighten their laws?
ANYWAYS rant over. i will review the dark knight rises when i see it for the 2nd time. gotta rewatch begins and dark knight again before i give my complete unbiased awesome overview. i REALLY enjoyed brave, sweet heartwarming story, unpredictable at times and full of action to satisfy me.

i want to time travel
do i?
not too sure.  where would you go?  i cant really pinpoint a time, would i go back to a happy time and relive it? would i go back and change something i did, a decision i made? i would honestly rather just go and relive moments that i have had, walking the sydney harbor bridge, sky diving, fishing with my family, having dimsum...  more so enjoying moments.
anyhoo.
this was a quaint little film, with love laughs excitement and cringey moments as well. i really really enjoyed it. SPOILERS : but i wish they showed s WHERE they were going back in time. because it ended with them vanishing into the distance.
this story was also so creative, about a man who placed an ad : WANTED: Someone to go back in time with me. This is not a joke. You'll be paid after we get back. Must bring your own weapons. I have only done this once before. SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED.
so a reporter drags along his two interns along with him to pursue the story.  the writing was good, i enjoyed the character of darius (aubrey plaza) was so sarcastic and normal just like a character from GIRLS. she was really good at portraying her character's emotions, and you felt her pain when she found out about the kenneth's ex gf still being alive or when she moved in for the kiss (AWKWARD) but still.. i understood. the filmmaker really managed to weave together a story or 3 stories that were going on the journalist and his ex girl friend, the journalist trying to help the indian boy get laid, and darius's parallel story about time travel, and the random people following them in their attempts. so many stories but told well, or i guess edited well, they didnt over do it and made it so the audience was pretty much engaged the whole time.
just a sweet film. dunno why it was rated r. go see it :) i know this is not a very good review.. haha.

you cant have my heart.
oh dear... how do i describe this movie. i did enjoy the beginning of it up till charlize and helmworth interacted in the scene where she wanted to use him to hunt snow white and then it pretty much all went downhill from there. it really had the makings to be a spectacular movie but every scene was so rushed , or action sequence and some scenes were COMPLETELY unnecessary and stupid. i am not sure if the problem is script writing or editing or acting.
but things like when charlize's brother suddenly was like " you FOOL, SHE CANT bring people back from the dead "  was SO weird. WHY give that away so quickly and easily...  OH and the ending.... she breathes and looks at the two men, and the door closes. wth. AND she kisses her william but EXTREMELY obviously mr. helmsworth was the "one true love" - NONE OF THAT Addressed. his random rant for snow white about how she reminded him of his ex wife and they preceded to kiss her was ridiculous - their relationship was STRICTLY lord of the rings bilbo frodo till his intense rant/weird love for her. HMM. and kristen barely spoke, just jittery, sudden darting in and out and MASSIVE breathing. dont get it. OH AND HER SPEECH WAS hilarious, it was just... seriously ridiculous and uncalled for. WHY did she rise from the dead and suddenly YELL at the towns people. seriously, thats not normal behavior.
but the visual effects were stunning. the red blood dripping, the mirror rising and transforming into a golden human mirror. all the visuals that involve dripping or the shattering of class or the giant monster in the woods - PURDDY cool. which also reminded me how she yelled at that massive creature and he backed off. why? miss theron is also a stunning actress, after the first quarter of the movie, i yearned for every scene to contain her. couldve made the movie less painful and weird by the end.  it was trying to be too much and do too much with this story .. the very LAST fight lasted like 3 seconds. its definitely no lord of the rings... costumes were FANTASTIC as well.
this film was just.. bleh. just like alice in wonderland bar the costumes and helena bonham carter.
LUCKY FOR THEM, their trailer people did an AMAZING job, thus the great box office opening as well as the fact that no awesome new movie came out that weekend as well. no to the sequel. just.. no.

the avengers!!!
OMG. SUCH A GOOD MOVIE. the beginning was a bit transformers esque and the build up COULDVE been a bit better, story wise, but i actually thought the entire movie was exciting and amazing. the casting was interesting, because jeremey renner albeit a good actor shouldve been a taller huger guy who was more eviler because everytime he stood next to scarlett johanssen (sp?) i was reminded of how little he was... or how EQUAL he was to her. she had pretty retarded lines too, EXCEPT when she conned the evil thor's brother man in the jail thingy. but when iron man was like " im bringing the party to you" she was like " it dosent look/seem like a party" err... good one?
i LOVED iron man and how he injected the 21 century wit and sarcasm into the film. hes a great actor as well, and the rapport with mark ruffalo (who btw i though was EXCELLENT as the hulk) was great as well. chris evans was good as the all american hero, haha his dialoge was fitting and thorr aahhh i love him. haha. scarlett was just a tad wierd, AND what are her specific skillsets that she mentioned, SO confusing. just fighting? she was incredibly beasty in the beginning when she kicked everyones ass.  the fights were good and exciting, it was HILARIOUS when the hulk just punched poor thor.
WHO thinks of the villans to be scaley crocodile serpent creatures? i ALWAYS wonder that. hm. GREAT MOVIE, stay throughout the entire credits, at the very end all the superheros eat shwarma. i want shwarma now.

bad blogger me.
apologies.
but i have seen
titanic 3d
cabin in the woods
the descendents
bully
the five year engagement.
SORRY. but short blurbs cos im SO TIRED.
titanic 3d - GREAT GREAT film, but 3d was unnecessary in the cinema. IMAX wouldve been a much more terrific experience.
cabin in the woods - super weird, crazy film, it kinda reminded tucker and dale - that random horror film i saw, like nonscary horror gore but with a twist. go see it!
the desendents - very heartwarming sweet movie- clooney is good. woodley is great as well, im always impressed how simple movies can really grapple the heart. the retarded side kick boyfriend  was hilarious as well.
bully- well made documentary about bullying, makes you aware of the situation and how the internet is really affecting children and making it easy for their self-esteem to die so easily. problem lies with parents, educators... its very interesting and sad to learn about these incompetent parents and principals .. sigh.
the five year engagement- SO FREAKING FUNNY. i thought it was so tasteful, great funny script super fun romantic comedy. would 100% recommend it :)

mirror mirror on the wall....
saw mirror mirror on a rainy night last night. COMPLETELY forgot to blog ... bad me. so now i have to rely on my awful memory.. it was a good movie. i really like the color and the art direction from mr. tarsem. i really liked his THE FALL. but this movie couldve had more continuity story wise or better editing because a couple of things didnt make sense and I found it hard to connect to the characters eventhough the characters were all pleasant enough. it just needed a bit more developing i think.
acting: great from all. nathan lane was good, i really like lilly collins- portrayed the withering snow white very well, especially the usage of her hands made her look like a ballerina the whole time - shes a pretty good actress, honestly i believe better than jennifer lawrence . mr hammer and julia roberts were good as well - we couldve had more from the seven dwarfs but i mean with time constraints i understand.
overall just a fun fun movie, some of the dialogue was so witty, i liked how they upgraded it to be more modern. but yes there was something lacking i couldnt pinpoint. but it was still pretty enjoyable :) good family movie cos i could hear the kids laughing ...  and the bollywood dance at the end was kinda weird hahah.
more later xx

21 choices?
haha sorry for the title. just craving circus animal fro yo :) anyhoooooselbees i saw two every different movies this week. 21 Jump Street and Family Inc.
so firstly 21 Jump Street
before going in the movie, i had the preconception that it would be a funny entertaining movie... however on the ride to the cinema, my friends shot me down because they were like meh how can a funny movie be a GOOD movie? (yes it can BRIDESmaids a prime example) and also they were like "dont have high expectations" i was like man okay... BUT it didnt matter because what i had originally thought was true and it was actually pretty funny.
channing tatum and jonah hill as young prepubescent adolescent boys seems quite unbelievable but that probably was what made it hilarious. their relationship with one another in the movie was really like brothers and their banter was hilarious and well written and weirdly enough they have GREAT chemistry. which is funny because tatums character gets really into science and .... nvm ill stop go see it :)
I am quite impressed with tatum's range, i really only thought that he cornered himself into the purely romantic hero type genre and his character in this movie had portray a range of emotions and i think he did a really good job! back to the movie - just pure fun is all i can say. i mean the way it was shot was very entertaining, with the constant referral to the drug usage and the three/four stages of the drugs. OH and ice cube was really great in this movie as well.
go see it, good music, good edits, funny acting, lots of stereotyping, action scenes were exciting as well. AMAZING CAMEO NEAR THE END. in the end this movie is pretty much about not abandoning your brah-ships, having a good time, and staying true to yourself... i make it seem like SUCH a deep movie. it really wasnt. haha. also i wouldnt bring your kids to this, quite foul language and actions displayed, but everyone in montery park seemed to think that this was a family friendly movie so all the kids were out haha.
Family Inc
a short documentary by emily ting. i really REALLY enjoyed it actually because I saw so much of her father in my dad and how he wants our lives to play out. but in a way we are complete opposites because she grew up in the states and returned to hk to work and i grew up in hk and am currently in the states working. i feel a lot of the same work pressures that her family puts on her currently, because maybe that's just the asian way of thinking? and ALSO she left her future so uncertain... is she still in LA? is she still with her husband ??? MAN. i wish she would tell me.
it was surprising to me that her dad had 3 wives - to me the asian community seems extremely straightforward and one wife one husband forever type thing, so it was def surprising to learn she had to go through all of that and have all these half sisters and half brothers. its interesting how she was still able to maintain a somewhat close relationship to her father for him to WANT to still bestow the company toy business on her. especially since she did mention that she felt neglected by him, but i guess he still has a special place in his heart for his oldest two. the way he was talking to her half sister about her studies and ceramics - IS pretty much EXACTLY, like my father... the same tone, the despair and wonderment of why she could possibly do such a subject and quote on quote be crappy at it when he HAS not even seen any of her designs. haha clearly they are not a rare breed...
i mean obviously i have incredible amounts of respect for my father and im sure she does too, its just i feel like parenting could be approached in a different way. our parents def. shape us into the individuals that we become in life and i am truly grateful all the opportunities my parents have given me.
WATCH THIS DOCUMENTARY!! esp if u are an international asian kid.

a flea saves the day
just had the privilege of watching this movie A Monster in Paris - originally french animation but it was dubbed. it was the west coast premiere of the movie and we saw it for the LA Animation Film Festival.
so according to all my animation friends - i went with the group of them, the animation was not very impressive. to a normal person like myself however I thought it was fantastic. much more easy on the eyes and resembled drawings more than the super animated pixar films. I also thought the paris backdrop and scenery was done beautifully... hahah but what do i know?
as for the movie itself i thought it was SOOOOO funny and amazingly touching, heartwarming and exciting. yes it was a TAD predictable, but it was still so cute and special. the characters really drew me in because the writing was SO funny - i really wonder if it was as funny in french as it was in english, because the jokes kept coming.. and paced very well too. the writing was great!
it did irk me though that every voice in the movie was american, apart from lucille - vanessa paradis who had a french accent. I really should see the french version to compare the dialoge. but it was such a sweet, funny adventurous animated movie and I am always impressed with people who come up with such stories that can really make 1.5 hours fly by and make people just sitting in the audience experience every speck of emotion. like honestly, who thinks to have 2 men who have nothing in common accidentally go into a house, get a monkey as a sidekick (MONKEY WAS SO FUNNY with his notecards), turn a flea into a ginourmous monsters, who turns out to be the most amazing singer flea monster, who turns out to be an amazing guitar player and dancer as well ... etc. etc, you can see where I am going with this and how fascinating people's minds work to weave together such a creative yet fluid story.
the SONGS in this movie were fabulous also, i think it reminds me of a simpler time back when i used to watch all my disney movies and sing along. ok sleepy time.
they also showed this short by DUCK animation studios : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d21_x4p6ydg
SOOOOO funny i thought :)

project x
project x. HMM. oh first i want to apologize for the lack of posts, been pretty busy and just dealing with life in general.
this movie was interestingly marketed i think, they really pushed the PRODUCERS or something of the hangover. and I also feel like they tried to make it sound mysterious and wanted the viewer to FIND out what project x was. pretty good creative marketing. except i found it more.. SUPERbad esque with the hand held camera. did NOT like cloverfield - but the movie wasnt all handheld , it changed viewpoints from time to time between person with camera to landscape views ,which kind of confused me as i wanted it to stay consistent.. im sure not many people noticed.
pretty funny when my 23 year old self walked into the cinema and saw the 2 13-16 yr olds who were buying tickets to the "lorax" sneak into our theater. followed 10 mins later by another gaggle of high-schoolers wanting to watch this r -rated movie. HMMM.
i guess i did the same for texas chainsaw massacre - me my 2 friends were MILLING around the theatre because yeng was about to turn 18 the next 2 days and me and dev were both 16 @ the time and had documented evidence that we were erhem 18. so we stood around for the longest time trying to figure out HOW to get that 3rd ticket... and in the end we rock papered scissored and my friend had to ask the stranger to help us buy the ticket... and he did. hahahah. the things we did for TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. was NOT even a good movie. sigh. i think that and passion of the christ were the only movies i snuck into underage ... probably shouldnt have seen unfaithful at my age either.. but i insisted it be rented from blockbuster. haha i bet my mother was bothered by that. hahahah
so this movie was superbad with younger children and more boobs. it was interesting because they used 3 very young protagonists who seemed to be going to a high school filled with college kids who are fully developed, extremely attractive, and very horny. they decide to throw this MASSIVE party and invite everyone because they are the nerdy kids and having this big legendary party would put them on the epic coolness map for the rest of their lives. so it ends up being the HUGEST part of the century because thousands of people show up - dunno where all the alcohol came from to be honest. didnt seem like they had ANY money. (dont want to give anything away - go see it) the dog is REALLY a PIVOTAL character in this movie. hahah you'll see..
this movie was actually PRETTY funny, i really enjoyed the 3 high schoolers and the crazy things that kept happening - it was OVERWHELMING and hilarious i couldn't even fathom the things that happened when i was watching. that interspersed with a TINY love story made it kinda cute as well. ya i would say this movie was pretty fun to watch :) very haroald and kumar type humor with superbad and 3 fascinating young actors to watch, they didnt have the rapport of the 3 superbady ones but, they definitely did an amazing job. kinda makes me think - man is that really what high-schoolers think and do?? HMMMMMM.
go see it if you want a laugh and arent offended anything easily <3
i also saw ACT of VALOR about a week ago - but i forgot to blog. I really liked it, it was slow at times but i felt like it was necessary for the storyline. BUT this was also a typical american patriotism movie - i wonder why they ALWAYS have to have a pregnant woman - or someone who leaves behind a child to pull at the heart strings. i thought this was a good standard film - the action scenes were REALLY exciting when there was action i was def sitting on the edge of my seat.  BUT what KINDA bothers me about this is it seems like relativity media is exploiting what these navy seals do on a normal basis to turn it into a profit making movie. i understand that they used real seals in the movie - but it felt like a ploy to me to GET people to see the movie. in the beginning of the movie and the end. its one thing to dedicate the movie, but the emphasis on that i dunnoooo .... maybe im just tripping out for no reason haha.
want to feel extremely patriotic? go see this movie. a cross between pearl harbor and armageddon.

super 8
finally finished this movie :D
this movie took awhile to finish, its hard for me to sit down and watch full length movies without getting distracted or getting up and doing something else unless i am in the movie theater. i think most movies, by most i mean STELLAR movies need to be enjoyed in the cinema, nothing can compare to the big screen, surround sound and dark lighting to be 100% immersed in the movie.
any hoooooo this movie was REALLLLY cute. its just a sweet movie about children and aliens. maybe funny one liners like "so do you want me to sit here like a douche and wait for you?" "yes, thank you SO MUCH" hahah and when the guy helping the kids drive away was so stoned he couldnt wake up so as they are getting out of the car one kid was like "drugs are SOOOO bad" its funnier in the movie, i cant describe it well in words.
but its just vintagey sweet, e.t era esque movie, exciting, the child actors were GREAT in it. also reminded me of lost and the dharma initiative/transformers with all the secret government stuff going on. nice movie to watch on a rainy day, cept its sunny in so cal and SUPER BOWLL SUNDAY! get hyphy... hahah
until the next post... xoxo

children are scary.
they really are. their glazed, indifferent walking and blank stares are REALLY frightening.
just saw the woman in black. ive actually REALLY wanted to see the play ever since my british drama teacher in primary school, or maybe in high school mentioned it was one of the SCARIEST plays he has ever seen in his life. will someone please PLEASE take me to the fortune theatre in london one day?
and needless to say i enjoy a GOOD scary movie because those are incredibly rare - ive been to my fair share of shitty scary movies hoping they were really scary and coming out INCREDIBLY disappointed. but the good ones for me so far tht i can immediately remember have been the hours, the ring and what lies beneath.
back to this movie - VERY GOOD. i thought it was a very good scary movie - not TOOO intense like the ring but i did jump a couple of times and I though the story was FASCINATING.  anyways dont read any further if you havent seen the movie.
story/script: INTERESTING. kept me questioning and wondering what the heck was going on. i was interested in why everyone immediately shunned daniel when he entered the town and was just being a normal friendly human being trying to do his job. man the possessed wife of the guy who helped him out was a nice touch of insane. and he was really sweet to leave his doggy behind as well as help him drag an ENTIRE cart out from the marsh pit to retrieve a dead boy who has been dead for AGES but for some reason his body was still amazingly intact. clearly hidden powers of the marsh. really REALLY liked the ending as well, impressed with the director - SO smart to have her look US in the eyes so the audience leaves the cinema like.. MANNNNN shes gonna haunt us. ill stop talking dont wanna give everything away. hahahha basically an EXTREMELY rough week at work for daniel haha. tough times with dealing with spirits and crazy rocking chairs and ugly musical toys.
daniel radcliffe did an AMAZING job. he really has come a long way since harry potter and he's made great choices i think. doing broadway and intelligent movies - good career path. unlike people like vanessa hudgens who choose to do shitty unmeaningful movies.. sigh. ANYWAYS. he did a great job as this character, really embodied the widowed husband. scared, confused, but putting up a brave front - v. impressed with him.
overall GREAT movie - GO SEEEEE IT :) i hope i dont have nightmares... xoxo

disney. fantasy.
the bain of my existence. and for every little girl in my generation. just watched the little mermaid, for a chill night in. i forgot ALOT from the past, like she had a billion sisters? the seagull scuttle had a VERY vital role in having all the animals smash the wedding at the end, did NOT rmb scuttles existence till he appeared. and the diversity was interesting jamaican crab, french chef, american mermaids - no asians? hmmmm. hahah.
my favourite bit in the movie:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMLhrDYJ5QM . the kiss the girl scene.
it is set SO magical with all these different animals contributing to the melody of the song and setting the MOOD and ambience of the kiss. its so funny how they focus on the kiss and falling in love. no wonder we women have ridiculous expections of what lvoe is meant to be ... we grew up understanding that kisses mean everything and it is relatively easy to obtain your ONE TRUE love. the more I think about it, its kind of ridiculous that when king triton is zapping all of her human possesions she SCREAMS at him " i LOVE him". but really she saw him on the boat, thought he was a handsomest thing on the planet, then FELL in love with him in those 4 seconds.
questionable. the more i venture through life, i am starting to think that true love DOSENT exist. it is probably the RAREST thing on the planet... how many old couples can you name that are still together with an awesome marriage, or even parents? i cant. maybe teri and ian from the amazing race .... but still, do they exist cause of being good companions? or are they still in love? i mean look at ALL the divorces happening, a prime example - the CELEBRITIES - if they are divorcing at that rate - means us normal people that DO NOT get featured in the tabloids are probably separating at an alarming rate as well.
we expect alot. we expect that fairytale and "falling in love" but honestly, i think its important to find someone you can coexist with and be friends with, even when or if the love begins to dafe because it really is inevitable. i would NEVER want to get a divorce and my future husband... will be informed of this. i think its really important for the children mostly -so MAKE SURE YOU FIND A GOOD LIFE LONG COMPANION. i think best way to go.. even if you MAY not love this eprson ... it may not last anyways?
CYNICAL POST i am aware. haha.
but its only because I WANT TO BE THE LITTLE MERMAID and have all my dreams answered and have my father king tritons blessing to live on land with my one true love and abandon my fish best friend and my sisters.
this movie REALLY makes me laugh.... <3

extremely endearing and incredibly heartwarming
very sweet movie. simply crafted, well written script about an extremely smart little boy and his dad. this litte actor who played the main character was AMAZING. he had to be the most intelligent quirky character who was innocent yet fearful of the world. i wonder how he is actually like in real life because he did a fantastic job of playing such a complicated character. the meticulous researcher that he is complimented his father (tom hanks character) and it was just so charming to watch them duel over oxymorons and come up insane quests - intelligence is very attractive. even if unconventional.
anyways - 9/11 in this movie was merely a backdrop to what this movie was about, which was the little boy trying to figure out how to exist in the world without his father. his quest to find the key that opened the box was a way for him to fill the void that his father left and bring him closer to him... i laughed when he encountered weirdos, i teared during the interactions with his mother or when he was hurting. this movie brings out many emotions - not to mention the incredible landscape of NYC and how there are really so many people from different walks of life. everyone has their own story to tell and wht they are looking for in life.
the emotions, love, heartbreak, fear, anger, pain were all displayed so accurately by the characters in this film. especially all the focus on the noises and tall buildings, close up on planes, confined spaces etc was very well done because it really gave me a sense of how the boy was feeling, his sense of extreme claustrophobia mirrored with his intense dislike of loud noises. the cinematography was excellent.
family also played a large part in this movie ... ahh dont wanna spoil it just go see this movie. not sure if the book is better tho?
"things that are easy to find are not worth looking for"  true story.
