Bringing up baby (1938)

The two words I would describe this movie with are fast paced and wacky. Whoever said that older movies has a much slower pace clearly hasn’t seen this one. I’ve come to love the Hepburn-Grant duo, they are both talented actors with great chemistry, and most of their movies are worth the watch, this one included.

A star is born (1954)

If you like old movies about music, you’ll love this one. Judy Garland is such a delight to watch in this flick. But, trust me, you’ll need a lot of snacks to make it through the entire 3 hours and some scenes are stills (which I wasn’t aware of till I had already started watching), cause apparently the footage was lost. In other words, you’ll need heaps of determination to watch this movie, but if you can make it through, it is well worth the watch.

The intern (2015)

This movie was very enjoyable to watch. It’s a true feel-good movie, predictable with a happy ending. And sometimes that’s exactly what you need in your life. The acting was great, Robert De Niro makes for a great sweet old man. The only remark I have was that the ending felt pretty abrupt.

The last man in San Francisco (2019)

So, I really wanted to like this movie, and in some aspects I do. I love the soundtrack and the cinematography. I almost get a Wes Anderson vibe sometimes. But the tempo was too slow for me, I felt kinda bored after a while.

Contact (1997)

If you’re a sci-fi fan, you’ll love this movie. I came across it on a list of movies you’ll like if you like Denis Villeneuve’s films, it has some similarities to Arrival. This is the kind of movie I want to see again for the first time. And it’s a fun 90s time capsule!
