I Got You
Tumblr media
Fandom: Mayans M.C.
Pairing: Miguel Galindo x Reader.
Request: No.
Words: 770.
Warnings: Murder. So… I needed to write this ‘cause the other day I needed to see gifs of Miguel on season 5 ‘cause he looks gorgeous (fight me) and I still have two episodes left from the show so… I got spoilered (idk if that’s actually a word lol). I needed to give him a different ending so… probably there are spoilers in this? I don’t know… just, read carefully if you haven’ finished the show yet. (I’m very offended, tbh).
A/N: Gif not mine!

“Put the gun down”
Your husband's eyes locked with yours. He had a face you couldn’t quite decipher; as if he was surprised but glad that you were there, but at the same time, fear crossed his gaze. The metal in your hands felt cold and wrong. It wasn’t the first time you held a gun, but it was the first time you were attempting to use it to hurt someone.
“(Y/n)…” His voice. That familiar voice. The voice that used to calm you down whenever you were about to cry. The voice from whom you heard the best bits of advice. The same voice that you thought you were gonna hear forever.
‘Cause he was supposed to be your family. He was supposed to be there for you, he was supposed to protect you and never hurt you.
But he was there… with a gun in hand aiming at your husband. But it was like he was aiming at you.
“Ezekiel… put the gun down,” you said again. Your voice almost trembled and that only made you angrier. Ez was in your house about to kill your husband and he looked relaxed. He seemed so calm even though he was there to hurt you. He didn’t seem nervous, or afraid “Put the gun fucking down!”
The gun touched the back of his head when you took a step closer to him. Ez put his hand down. His gun now facing the floor as he slowly started turning to you.
“What are you doing?” Ez asked you once he was facing you.
“I’m doing what you should have done when Angel asked you to stop this bullshit. I’m protecting my family” you told him, stepping back without lowering your hands “Drop it”
Ez didn’t do it “I’m your family”
“No” you shook your head “Miguel is my family. My son is my family… you’re not, at least not anymore”
“So… this is how it ends?” Ez asked after a few seconds of silence. He was there. The same tanned skin, the same eyes, the same Ez. But not really. It was like, physically Ezekiel Reyes was standing in the living room of your house, but if you looked deeply into his eyes… the one standing in front of you was a stranger.
“You tell me” It was unbelievable. All of it. One day you two were playing in the Reyes’ backyard and now you’re both with the chance of ending each other’s lives in your hands “Drop the gun, Ez”
“I feel like I don’t know you”
“You do” You looked at Miguel who seemed alerted and then looked at the gun Ez was holding. His hold became firmer and you knew in that moment he wasn’t going to back down “I always lived to serve my family, you know that”
“I don’t know you”
“It’s me the one that should be saying that” Your eyes filled with tears. It was him or you, there was no point in thinking there was another ending “Drop the gun” your voice came out as a whisper.
“I never stopped seeing you as my sister, you know?”
Your hold weakened and he took that moment to aim at you. Everything happened pretty fast; his arm going up, your finger in the trigger, your body jerking back with the recoil of your gun. When you realized what had happened, Ez’s body was on the floor, a big red mark around him.
You killed your best friend.
“Hey” You heard Miguel’s voice but you couldn’t look away from what you had done, so he took your chin and made you look at him.
“He was going to kill you” was the first thing you said. You felt tears in your cheeks not knowing when you started weeping “He was going to get kill everyone in the club, he was going to kill me…”
“I wouldn’t let that happen” he assured you “We’re you and I against it all, remember?”
You couldn’t nod ‘cause your crying didn’t let you. Your body started to shake as Miguel held you close. You buried your face on his chest, the blood on your face marked his shirt but he just held you tighter, as he could take all your pain to his own body.
“I want you to talk to me” Miguel whispered later that night. Your head on his chest, you could feel your hair a little wet still from the shower “Whenever you want or need to, okay?” His lips touched your head and that made you tear up again “’Cause I got you”
“I got you, too”

Put you in jail for something you didn't do. I pinned your hands behind your back, thought I had reason to attack, but no.
You barely gave him the chance to talk.
Everything was pretty clear; how late he came home, all the cancelations to your dates, his empty chair at lunch and dinner. Everything told you that your husband was cheating. Absolutely everything.
And then that rumor: Miguel and Palomo were spending time together, there was even a picture. That was the moment you couldn’t stay without saying anything. Not anymore.
“I told you Potter wants her compromised,” Miguel said when you confronted him about it.
“And what better way than sleeping with her, right?”
Miguel left what he was doing. His shirt was opened not being able to finish undressing after your words.
“What the hell are you talking about?” He asked. He looked furious, probably as furious as you were. It was never a good combination.
“Miguel, please… You think I’m dumb?” You got up from bed and walked towards him just a few steps. Miguel didn’t take his eyes off you, but he didn’t say anything “You think so?”
“If you really think I’m sleeping with her, then maybe you are.” He said, sarcastically.
“Fuck you.” You told him, walking to your side of the bed again.
“Amor… I don’t know where you got that from…”
“You really don’t know?” You asked, turning back to him “This is the first time in a month that you’re here early… all you do is be out… with her… there are days you don’t even come home to sleep.”
“That doesn’t mean…”
“Shut up!” You cut him off “Don’t you even try to minimize what I feel… don’t you even think about it.”
“I’m not… You don’t trust me?” Miguel seemed confused. He was looking for the right words to say, but he didn’t find them. It was the first time you saw him running out of words.
“How?” You asked “How do you want me to trust you when you don’t talk to me? You don’t come home, I never know where you are, you don’t pick up my calls…” your eyes filled with tears so you needed to pause for a few seconds “Would you trust me if this was the other way round?”
Miguel didn’t say anything. You knew he wouldn’t ‘cause you knew the answer. For goodness sake, Miguel loses his mind for less than that.
“Thank you for coming early today ‘cause I’ve been wanting to tell you something… this is not what you vowed at the altar, so… if this continues like it’s been, I don’t want it. I’ll leave and I’ll take my children with me… oh yeah, I almost forget it...” You shook your head and reached for the cabinet on your bedside table “Congrats…” You told him, handing him the white envelope “You’re gonna be a father for the second time.”
Miguel didn’t open the envelope. He was too shocked, but he got a hold of your hand before you could walk away, nevertheless, he couldn’t say anything.
“I’ll take another room…” You told him “Goodnight.”
And you left him alone.
Three days later, Miguel still hadn’t talked to you. If he had to go out of the house, he asked someone to tell you and if by any chance you two find each other around the house, he never said a word. But that night he was home early. You heard him walking to your shared bedroom and closing the door. But somehow, you couldn’t fall asleep so you took your nightgown, and your phone and went out to the pool with a giant glass of cranberry juice.
What a goddamn moment to be pregnant.
Surely your brain needed something stronger than a simple juice.
The night was quiet and cool. Time went by hearing the crickets sing and looking at the moon twinkling on the water of the pool. You were so inside your brain that you didn’t hear Nestor’s steps when he got close to you.
“Nestor!” You said, one of your hands on your chest for the surprise “You scared me.”
Your husband’s best friend smiled and with the look he threw at you, he asked for permission to sit in the same armchair. You nodded immediately.
“Are you okay?” He asked once he got a seat.
“Yeah, why are you asking?”
He shrugged.
“I have seen you and Miguel”
You rolled your eyes.
So that was it.
“Miguel sent you.” You didn’t ask. It was Obvious. Nestor does everything Miguel says.
“No…” He said, sounding convincing “He told me about your worries, though.” Nestor was silent for a couple of minutes just like you did “Miguel’s no cheating on you…”
“Nestor… stop.” You cut him off “We’re friends but I know your bond with Miguel is stronger, I know where your loyalty lies and it’s with him, not with me…”
“You’re right,” he nodded “Miguel is like a brother to me.”
“And that’s why you’d cover his lies—”
“And that’s why I’m here,” he corrected you. He had a little teasing smile on his face “If he was cheating on you —which he’s not—, I wouldn’t be here. I wouldn’t tell you a thing.”
You thought about it. You remembered when Miguel was going to propose to you. You knew it, you had suspected it from weeks before and you tried to get information out of Nestor but he never told you a single thing. He even avoided being left alone with you. Or that time when Los Olvidados took your son and Miguel did something he told you he wouldn’t. Nestor ran away from you every time he saw you and it didn’t matter how insistent you were; he didn’t tell you anything.
Maybe his loyalty was with Miguel and maybe he was gonna cover him forever, but he was right. If Miguel was really cheating on you, he wouldn’t be there. You were his friend too.
“Miguel knows he’s been away for too long…” Nestor added “But it has nothing to do with an affair…”
“Then where is he?” You asked looking at him “Where is he when he comes home late, when he doesn’t come home at all?”
“He’s been dealing a lot with Potter… and wait… how many nights he hasn’t come home?”
You tried to remember but you couldn’t think more than once.
“Like… two?”
“Just once.” Nestor corrected you “Listen, I’ve known Miguel since we were kids… when he met you, he became someone new and I knew that what he felt for you was real and strong.”
“You’re making me feel terrible.”
“No,” he chuckled “You had the right to feel that way, I mean… is the easiest thought.”
You laughed.
“I’m just gonna ignore that you just said I’m not original.”
Nestor laughed too. It was probably the first time in weeks you laughed that way with someone that was an adult.
“You know what I mean,” Nestor said and you just nodded.
“I fucked it up, right?” you asked, your elbows in your legs.
“I think the both of you did.”
You sighed, thinking about the way Miguel reacted when you accused him of sleeping with Palomo. Of course he was mad. You’d also be mad if he accused you of having an affair.
“You’re going inside so I can close in here?”
“No.” You told him “I’ll close, thanks.”
He nodded and smiled once again before leaving you alone with your thoughts.
I lived like an island, punished you with silence, went off like sirens, just crying. Why'd I have to break what I love so much?
Miguel, as he told you, he didn’t know why would you think he was cheating on you with Palomo. Truth was that neglected his home and family for all the opportunities he’s been having since he made the deal with Potter and Los Olvidados, but it never crossed his mind to cheat on you.
He loved you. Everybody knew it. Even people who were never okay with your marriage accepted it. Nobody could say that Miguel Galindo didn’t love his wife. It was obvious every time he laid his eyes on you. Every time he was near you. Nobody could get in between your relationship, every man and every woman knew it.
He was furious. He didn’t think the word furious was appropriate for what he was feeling. But he was furious that the idea crossed your mind. Yes, he’s not been at home lately but, where did you leave the trust? Why didn’t you trust him?
So you didn’t talk. Miguel was not in the mood to argue and he knew he would say terrible things and he didn’t want to, let alone knowing you were carrying his second child. But, he was worried about what you said; You’d leave? Take his children away from him? If he ever say that he didn’t care or that he was not afraid, would be lying. Miguel didn’t see his life without you and every day he arrived home, that fear beat in his chest for the possibility of not finding you there.
Every night, he gets into the closet and his fear vanishes whenever he sees all your clothes. O whenever he gets into the house and sees Cristobal's toys in the living room, he just sighs and smiles ‘cause that means you're still there.
A week and a half went by. On a Tuesday he got home earlier than what he used to. It was past seven and the first floor was too quiet. The fear hit him, so quickly went upstairs just to hear his son’s laughter coming out from his bedroom. Miguel calmed down and walked toward there. He needed to see him awake.
“DADDY!”
Miguel smiled at his son’s excitement. Cristobal was in the bathtub, he had foam in his head and was playing with some plastic ships. You were sitting on the floor at the bathtub’s side and had also a ship in your hand but you didn’t look at him.
Miguel had kept his distance to give you space and to clear his mind. But probably wasn’t the best decision he had made.
“We went to school today,” Cristobal told him when he sat at the edge of the bathtub not caring he could get his clothes wet.
“School?” Miguel asked, looking at you but Cristobal was already an expert at talking so he answered:
“Yes. Mommy says that I will go to kindergarten soon...”
Miguel nodded and smiled. Cristobal was about to be of age to go to school, but you had not talked about it ‘cause for obvious reasons he wanted his son to be homeschooled.
“And did you like it?” Miguel asked, wiping the foam off his cheek.
Cristobal nodded while smiling widely and Miguel knew he couldn’t deny him going to school, not after that smile.
“Can daddy dress me?” Cristobal asked, looking at you.
“Daddy is probably busy, honey…”
“I’m not...” Miguel interrupted you and smiled at his son “C’mon… is almost bedtime.” He stood up and helped his son out of the bathtub.
You gave him Cristobal’s towel and once he put him it on, he pulled out his hand at you to help you up. You took his hand, but that touch felt rare. He didn’t like the feeling.
“You’re gonna read to me?” Cristobal asked when he picked him up.
“Sure… which book do you want?” He asked.
“The Rockstar R!” Cristobal said almost at the same time that Miguel whispered another book’s name.
“The Rockstar R?” He asked, confused.
“It’s his favorite of the moment…” Were the first words you told specifically to him in more than a week, but you turned your gaze to your son almost too quickly “Baby, be good for daddy, okay?” The kid nodded and you stood on your toes to kiss his head “Goodnight, baby, see you tomorrow...”
“Goodnight mommy.”
Miguel saw you walk out of the room before leaving Cristobal on his bed to dress him, and when he looked at him, he saw his big brown eyes looking directly at him.
“Why mommy is sad?”
“No, she’s…” Miguel thought for a few seconds. He had to be doing something really wrong if his son could see that something was not completely right with you “She’s tired… she’ll go to sleep. Now… what pjs you want? Iron Man or Captain America?”
“Captain America!”
Miguel dressed his son, took him to the bathroom, brushed his teeth, prayed, and read him a book. All of that took him half an hour because Cristobal used any excuse not to fall asleep and, being away from home for so long, Miguel didn't mind about the kid manipulating him.
Once his son was asleep, he left the room and went downstairs. It was still early and he hadn't eaten. Not that he was particularly happy to have dinner without you again, but he had to do it anyway.
But when he came downstairs, he saw you in the dining room, sitting in the place you usually took, while reading a bunch of brochures and sheets.
“What are you doing?” He asked you at the same moment when you drank from your glass.
“It’s not wine, Miguel, relax.”
But he was not worried about that ‘cause he remembered how you didn’t even drink coffee during your first pregnancy even though the doctor said a cup a day would be fine. He never thought it was wine. You were obsessed with cranberry juice when you were pregnant with Cristobal, so he guessed that obsession came back.
“I meant this…” He said, getting closer and taking a couple of the sheets on the table “What is this?”
“I’m looking for the best school for Cristobal,” You said, leaving your glass aside and the pamphlet you were reading to take another.
“I thought that was something we would talk about,” He said, sitting in the chair next to you and just realizing you already read all of them. Some had a few notes on the edges or some words underlined “I wanted Cristobal to be homeschooled...”
“I always wanted him to be a normal kid.”
He chuckled “Thousands of children are homeschooled in this country and that doesn’t mean they’re not normal...”
“Miguel… our son barely has contact with other kids,” You looked at him “You went to school so did I… I just want him to have the same and then… He saw the school and the playground and I wish you could have seen how his eyes shone. I thought it would be hard, but he wants this… he yearns this...”
Miguel nodded and took some papers. You fell silent as he read the options you were considering.
He knew you were right. Cristobal had no friends and no cousins. He needed to grow up with kids his age and all those papers you had on the table just meant you were considering everything the schools had to offer, including safety, which was what concerned him the most.
“I like this one…” he said after reading everything you had written in all the papers.
“Me too.” You said, “I think it’s the best option.”
“When are you going?”
“I’ll call tomorrow.”
Miguel just nodded and stood up. He didn't expect you to speak to him again, but when you did, he didn't hesitate to turn to you.
“Can we talk?” You asked.
He looked into your eyes. Sure you were tired like he told Cristobal, but there was also a glimpse of sadness in them. He couldn’t stand looking at you that way.
“Of course.” And he sat again.
Tell me that you're still mine, tell me that we'll be just fine even when I lose my mind.
“I’m sorry,” You said. You'd been wanting to talk to him since the day you had that conversation with Nestor, but you hadn't really thought about what to say. You wanted everything to go back to normal, but you knew that, in a way, the situation you were in wasn't completely your fault, so you apologized for the one thing you had to do so “I… should have asked you first. I should have listened to you when you said you were not cheating…”
Michael sighed. He seemed very uptight and to be honest, everyone in the house was the same. There was no way they could have listened to your argument the other night, but it was obvious that they knew something was wrong. For God's sake, you've been sleeping in another room for over a week now.
“Well… I didn’t help that much, did I?” Miguel started “I didn’t say too much these past days…”
“You were mad; I understand it”
“Yeah, I was… at first...” He clarified and sighed again. You knew he was having a hard time admitting that he also had to do with the whole problem. You knew him very well. He didn't like to admit that he was wrong “Then I realized what you meant… I’ve been away from home. I took for granted what I have here; Cristobal, you…”
“And there’s a little bean on the baking…”
“Yeah, let’s not forget the bean...” Miguel smiled making you smile too, “I’m sorry.”
You grabbed his hand on the table “I’m sorry, too.”
You looked at him and he seemed different. It was like the weight on his shoulders had left and, to be honest, you felt the same. It wasn't like you had said everything you wanted to say, but at the same time, it was like no more words were needed to fix the situation. Miguel knew how you felt and you knew how he felt. He knew what he had done wrong and you knew that you had to prove your hypotheses before accusing him of something.
“Come here…” he asked you, pulling your hand. So you got up from your seat and took a few steps towards him. His hands grabbed your hips and made you sit on his lap.
Having him near felt good. You didn’t realize how much you craved his closeness until that moment.
“I love you.” He said after leaving a kiss on your cheek “Sometimes I look at you and I think ‘That’s it… there’s no way I can feel more for her ‘cause if I do my chest is gonna explode’, and then, I prove myself wrong because it never stops growing… I’ll make sure you know that I keep falling in love with you every time I see you…”
What could you say after that? When you suspected Miguel was being unfaithful, you reacted that way, not out of pride. You loved him and it hurt you to even think that he was no longer feeling the same for you... that he was giving to someone else, all that love he once gave to you.
But he never did.
His love, his heart, and all of him... was still there. With you.
“I love you,” You said. Controlling your tears better than you thought were capable of. “Let’s not do this again, please.”
“You have a deal,” Miguel said, kissing your lips. It felt the same as the first time he had kissed you. “You’re gonna sleep with me tonight?” He asked still too close to your lips.
“Yeah, but after dinner ‘cause I’m starving…”
Miguel smiled and palmed your thigh.
“Let’s go...”
Tell me that it's not my fault, tell me that I'm all you want even when I break your heart… Meet me in the afterglow.

“Your husband called.”
It was eight in the morning and Adelaide woke up when a nurse walked into her room. The first she told her was that she’ll have an intravenous antibiotic, but she didn’t pay too much attention. Truth was that she barely listened since the doctor told her that they didn’t find her baby’s heartbeat.
Dita got into her room during the night to leave her purse and ask her to let Miguel inside. She just thanked her for taking her stuff and for being there. She completely ignores what she had told her about Miguel. She didn’t care how worried he could be; she didn’t want to see him.
“He said he’s coming to replace his mother and wanted us to ask you if you could let him in.” The nurse says once she pulls out the syringe. Adelaide doesn’t turn to her.
“I don’t want to see anyone.” She repeats and the nurse just nods and walks out of the room.
Adelaide lays on her right side, her back to the door and her gaze to the window. She knows that she has to face Miguel at some point, but she still doesn’t want to do it. She would like to think that he didn’t mean what he told her the night before, but his words keep repeating in her head, and she is not sure she could stop them.
When she started to work after she got married, she had the purpose to leave her work in her office and be completely present at home. Her only job when she was with her son, was protecting him. Make sure he was fine and… she couldn’t do it. With neither. Both of them are gone.
“I said I don’t want to see anybody.” She says when she hears the door being open. She’s not sure how much time has passed by now, but she’s sure it’s not a nurse or a doctor, they would have knocked on the door before. So, she keeps her gaze on the IV that’s on the back of her hand and wipes the tears off of her face.
“And you know how much I fucking don’t care?”
When she hears that voice, Adelaide turns around to see her best friend a couple of feet away from her bed.
“Who called you?” She asks, sitting up as fast as she can ‘cause her back still hurts from the epidural she got. Ez translates that as the chance to get closer to her.
“Emily.” EZ says, shrugging “She said you didn’t want to see anyone, that maybe you’d talk to me.”
Adelaide's eyes start to fill with tears and Ez sits at her side to hug her, letting her cry on his shoulder as much as she wants.
She doesn’t understand why but there is something in Ez that, somehow, calms her down. She had to be mad at him, she had to tell him to go away and not get close to her again, but now that she has him near, his closeness comforts her.
“Emily also said that Miguel deleted our numbers…” She hears Ez say once she controls her tears. She texted Emily Ez’s number once Dita brought her things during the night, and she also told her what had happened. She never thought her friend would dare to talk to Ez that soon “How did you get them back?”
“I called Riz’s sister and she gave me his number, then he gave me yours,” Adelaide explains, but she realizes that Ez doesn’t pay that much attention to her. He looks like he has so many things in his head “What?”
“I don’t like what he did… it’s not right.” Ez says after sighing.
“He knew I saw Angel yesterday…” Adelaide looks at his friend and when she sees the confusion on his face, she realizes he doesn’t know the context of the situation “He always loses his mind when your brother is involved.”
“Why?” Ez asks even more confused.
“Because he hates him.” She simply says.
“Why?”
“You’re not gonna let it go, right?”
“Nope.”
Adelaide sighs and even though she’s not in the mood to tell him about her past with Angel, she does it.
“Before I knew Miguel, I confessed my feelings to your brother. At first, he said that he didn’t feel anything back, but then he did. We started dating, I guess… at least everybody thought that we were but we never talked about it, we never felt we needed to.” She half smiles. “We were like that for eight months or so, and it was everything I imagined since I was a teenager…”
“Ugh…” Ez looks disgusted and all Adelaide can do is hit his ribs with her arm.
“Shut up, you wanted to know.” They laugh for a few seconds, and once their laughs calm down, she continues “Then, one day out of the blue, Angel came and said that what we were doing wasn’t right. That you saw me like a sister and your father as a daughter. He said that the only relationship he wanted to have with me, was the brother-sister one, and he left before I could tell him I was pregnant.”
Adelaide feels his gaze on her, but for some reason, she can’t look at him.
“I was so mad, Ez… I’ve never felt like that before, and… what was I gonna do? He didn’t want anything with me and I didn’t feel ready to have a baby without a father, so, I went to Los Angeles to get an abortion.” She pauses, ‘cause the memories of last night come back to her. She waits until the lump in her throat vanishes and thanks Ez that he doesn’t push her to continue before she’s ready “Two weeks later, Angel came to me to ask me for a pregnancy test my mother found… I had other options; I could have lied to him, but I noticed he was happy and I felt the necessity to wipe that smile off of his face, I wanted him to feel the same that I felt so I told him, and I know it’s your brother but…”
“He’s an asshole most of the time, I know…” Ez says. Adelaide nods and even though she feels she doesn’t deserve it; she thanks the Lord because his best friend’s not judging her decisions.
“I got what I wanted. Angel was so mad, he even told me that he hated me for what I did. We stopped talking to each other until I went to the clubhouse for Coco’s birthday… I just went to give him a cake I baked but Angel asked me to stay, that he didn’t have any problem with that because I was Coco’s friend too, so I did… Angel got so drunk and he apologized for what he said. He told me he missed me, that he wanted us to go back to the friendship we had before all of that, and I missed him too so I pushed my feelings for him aside and I accepted.” She looks at the rings on her finger and she smiles ‘cause the words she’s about to say are forming a memory in her mind. She still can see it all perfectly and the butterflies are still there “A couple of months later I met Miguel…” she says “Angel didn’t like it at all when I started dating him. Even the club tried to convince me to leave him, but I loved him. It just… happened too fast. Then, two months before Miguel proposed to me, I had a pregnancy scare… I was at Lore’s house and I was crying when Riz stopped by. I tried to pretend to be okay but he knew something was wrong and he told Angel… When he asked me, I told him the truth and you know what he said?”
“Bullshit, I guess…”
Adelaide nods.
“His exact words were ‘Well... if you are, you already know how to get rid of the problem’.”
“What the fuck, Angel?” Ez mutters, shaking his head.
“That’s what I said.” Adelaide shrugs “I talked to him again the day after Miguel proposed…”
Ez doesn’t say anything for a moment. She sees him trying to digest everything she said. She also doesn’t add anything. She feels she talked way too much. Probably was way too honest.
“Miguel knows all of this.” Ez doesn’t ask. These few days, she’s been in charge of letting him know that Miguel is the one that she leans in, so he wouldn’t be surprised if she had told him everything.
“I had to tell him because your brother threw a scene at my parent’s house when I was pregnant with Cristobal. He held me in his arms the whole night while I cried.” That’s the moment when she can’t keep on with her words. It doesn’t matter how much she tries to put the events of the night aside; she can’t make them go away “I was thinking about all of that the whole night… that was the first thing I thought when the doctor told me that… that my baby was gone…”
Her hands land on her eyes trying to stop the tears from going out. But the blame she’s feeling for the decisions she made in the past is even stronger than when she made them.
“They told you why it happened?” Ez asks once she sighs and uncovers her face.
“No… they said that sometimes happens. It can be for long periods of stress, ‘cause the baby wasn’t completely fine… but I think it was karma.”
Ez shakes his head, disagreeing with her “You said Miguel loses his mind when Angel is involved… you can trust me, Addie. You can tell me what really happened…”
Adelaide takes her gaze up to him once she understands what he said between the lines. His words take her by surprise but she’s aware that more than one person in her social circle could and would think the same way.
“You think he did this? No… I mean, we argued but he didn’t touch me. He would nev—”
“I have seen him doing things that—”
“That I haven’t, I get it…” Adelaide says, a little bit mad ‘cause out of all the people in her life, she thought Ez would be the one that could never doubt her common sense “I know what he does, Ez, I know who he is. I don’t need anyone telling me about it.” Ez tries to speak, but Adelaide doesn’t give him the chance “I’m not that helpless little girl you met, anymore… you need to understand that.”
“I do…  I just… I don’t trust him.” He looks at her and, again, she’s not surprised by his words. It’s not the first time she hears them “The fact that he deleted our numbers because he was jealous…”
“Who said he was jealous?” She lets out a laugh and Ez throws her a glance “Miguel is not jealous of Angel…”
“No… he’s jealous about the life you used to have.” Ez tells her but she can’t imagine Miguel feeling that way “He’s insecure about you wanting to go back to that, after everything you left behind—”
“Why would I?” She interrupts him “I love him, and I know I said shit last night but I’m happy with him…”
Ez doesn’t insist anymore and she’s glad. She’s been listening to a lot of people saying that what she feels for Miguel isn’t love since the moment she started dating him. Even now that they’re married. She was tired of that.
“You said you saw Angel… what did you talk about?” He asks.
“You really don’t know?” She lifts an eyebrow and can see his regret for asking that crossing his face in less than a second.
“You know it…” Ez says and sighs “Listen, I didn’t know that she was trying to take Cristobal, if I knew, I would have warned you, I wouldn’t have—”
“Ez, I don’t care anymore.” Adelaide interrupts him, shaking her head no and making Ez turn to her “Cristobal’s fine and he has to come back tomorrow.”
“Adelita said something that I didn’t understand…” Ez says after a couple of seconds. Adelaide doesn’t say anything back ‘cause she knows Ez hasn’t finished talking “She said that she didn’t understand how could you marry one of the responsible for your father’s death.” At this point, Adelaide freezes. She doesn’t speak not because she doesn’t have anything to say, but ‘cause she doesn’t know how Adelita knows that “I thought your father died in a car crash…”
“I thought that too.” She finally says.

“Your abuela made it…”
She wasn’t her grandmother, but Alonso’s mom loved her as her granddaughter and she almost threw a big party when Adelaide and Miguel told her they were expecting their first child.
Adelaide was almost six months pregnant. She could no longer hide her bump and that only made her and Miguel even more excited about starting their own family. The nursery was almost done; Adelaide and Bridget designed it and Miguel was also being part of the process it didn’t matter how tired he whenever he got home. Sure he had more money than what they needed to hire someone so his wife wouldn’t have to work, but he was enjoying so much being part of creating the place where his child would spend the first years of his life in.
“It’s beautiful, thank you.” Adelaide smiled as she looked at the white knitted sweater that Alonso gave her. She was so thrilled to know her son would be loved by many people and she couldn’t wait any longer to have him in her arms, but she couldn’t say anything else ‘case her parents’ doorbell ranged. “I’ll go…” Adelaide said and still with the sweater in hand, she went out of the kitchen towards the front door. There, she found someone unexpected “Angel…” Adelaide said surprised and the smile that was forming on her face, disappeared immediately when she noticed Angel’s gaze was on her bump.
“You were the one I wanted to talk to…”
With those words, she confirmed that he was drunk. She took a glance at the jeep outside and saw Gabriel about to walk towards them, but she shook her head to let him know everything was fine.
“What happens?” She asked looking down at his hand, he still had a bottle of beer.
Angel looked at the bump on her belly again and didn’t say anything, as if he couldn’t do something else than look at that spot on her body.
“I was about to tell you, it’s just that Miguel and I decided to keep it between us for a couple of months…” she started to say. The moment she told Miguel she was pregnant, he said the news had to stay in their inner circle, just family and very close friends like Bridget and Emily knew. But Angel didn’t seem to be listening to her words. He just shook his head and looked up at her face slowly.
“You’re a piece of shit…” He said. Hatred irradiated out of his eyes as she gave a little step back not understanding what he was talking about.
“Angel…” She whispered looking back to see if anyone listened to his words but there was nobody near “What are you saying?”
“You…” he repeated slower “Are. A fucking. Piece of shit.” Angel gave a step towards her, and leaned to be closer to her face “That’s what you are…”
“You should go, you’re drunk.” Adelaide asked giving another step back to close the door, but he didn’t let her by placing a hand on it “Angel…”
“Why?” he asked raising the tone of his voice “Who’s in here? Here’s your husband? I didn’t see his lap dog outside…”
“Angel…”
“No, it’s fine.” He said lengthening his last word and stepping into the house “Let’s tell him what kind of woman he married…”
“It’s everything all right?” Amanda asked coming out of the living room.
“Yes, mom,” Adelaide said nodding and about to ask her to go back to the kitchen. She didn’t want anyone to hear ‘cause at that moment she knew exactly what Angel was talking about.
“You never told her, right?” Angel said laughing under his breath “You didn’t have the guts to…”
“What’s happening?” Adelaide’s mom asked again but she only shook her head.
“He’s drunk; he doesn’t know what he’s saying…”
“The fuck I know!” He shouted, “You… you’re walking around, really happy, showing your bump, so proud for Galindo’s baby, but… what did you do to the other one?”
“Angel, please…”
“You… you killed it!” Angel shouted again.
Amanda looked at her daughter, but Adelaide only could look at Angel. Now, both of them had tears in their eyes. She pressed her lips together and tried to hold back the tears.
“You didn’t tell me shit!” Angel continued getting angrier “I would have been there for you and him, or her… I wouldn’t have run!”
“Angel…”
“Angel! Angel!” He said laughing “Is that everything you know how to say?” Angel looked at her, both of them forgetting about the fact that Amanda was there and now, Alonso too “You let some doctors kill my baby… our baby.” He pointed to her and then to himself, and that was the moment when neither of them could hold their tears “And that’s something I’ll never forgive you for.”
“You should go, mister.” Gabriel tried to grab Angel’s arm but the Mayan moved.
“I hope you remember what you did every time you see that kid’s face.”

Hi I live in the US! After mandatory high school which is age 14-18, we can go to college (generally 4 years, 18-22). Here you can get a bachelor’s degree in whatever you study - engineering, accounting, architecture, etc. That’s generally enough and a lot of people stop there and start working.
If you keep doing school/want a higher degree and typically a higher-paying job, you can go to graduate school which is just a higher level of education in whatever you want to specialize in. That’s when you typically earn a master’s degree. A lot of people stole here, too. Beyond that, you can continue on to get a Ph.D. which is a lot of research work but is the highest level of education and highly respected due to the work it requires.
However! If after you get your bachelor’s degree you have a specific field you want to enter that requires a lot of specialization (e.g., medicine, law, dentistry, physical therapy), then you can go to professional school, the length of which varies widely (law school is 3 years, medical school is 4 years, the list goes on and on). After finishing that, then you are ready to join the workforce!
There are a bunch of special situations I’m leaving out here, but that’s basically how higher education works in the US!
Thank you sooooo much!! ❤️

HELP A WRITER
Hey tumblr.
I need help from people in the United States and England pleeeeease!!
Ok... Soooo HOW DOES COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY WORKS IN YOUR COUNTRIES?
I'm sooo confused.
Like, I'll explain how it works in mine:
We get out of high-school at 17 or 18 (it all depends on the high-school plan you choose), then we go to, the literal translation would be university to study whatever we want (vet med, medicine, laws, graphic design, architecture, marketing... Etc). Like if I had't drop out Vet School when I was 19, I would have been a fully graduated Vet at 23.
I'm confused with this because in SVU I've heard that people go to college (like the most famous in the show, Hudson), and then they say that on the fall they're going to like... Oxford... Or Yale... Or any other with big names to study laws or medicine or Idk.
So...
HOW DOES THAT WORK?
I also saw it in Pitch Perfect. They all are in college (that in spanish that is also translated like universidad-university) right? And then, there's this girl that says that she's been accepted at vet school...
How does that work? I'm so confused.
All of this happens like in USA, but I'm also curious to know how does it work in England and other countries if you like to share.
I've been doing google research but it doesn't help me to understand. I'm writing a book and it would be really nice if you help me. It also will help me at writing my fanfiction.
Thaaaanks!!

I just finished Mayans' season 4 and I have something to say:
Tumblr media
WHY NO ONE PREPARED ME FOR TAZA?
Like... I consider myself an emotional woman, that means I tend to cry super easily... I cried a lot with Coco, with Adelita finding Maverick, with Stephanie going through that horrible thing alone, with Hope, with Miguel and Tomás, with the memorial, and so many other scenes this season... But... TAZA?
Out of all the spoilers I saw on here, you didn't mention anything about Taza and you don't know how much I cried and the things I was feeling lol my mom and sister looked at me as if I was going mad.
I'm still too emotional for this season. I need a break but I need Fox to confirm we're having season 5 because that ending... Aydiosmio.
Also... Wtf with Manny? I loved his character. Charming, clever and interesting and... WTF!!!

So, my semester is over. I'm done with finals and shit... This semester was so terribly horrible that I lost my scholarship 🙃 yesterday's night I finally was able to sleep more than 5 hours... The first time in months.
Now... I'm about to watch season 4 of Mayans and I saw a couple of spoilers during the weeks the show was airing. I know I'm gonna cry but I actually need it. (And watch motociclistas sabrosos... I need that too)
Also, I'll have time to keep writing, so I guess that's good news.
Anyway... I'm gonna post my thoughts about every episode even though no one cares lol

"It's a huge step."
He heard Liv's voice over and over. That morning, he told her partner about the decision he made about asking you to move in with him. Even though you had already brought up the subject, you had never spoken about it properly.
He knew Liv was right, but he also knew you two were at a point in your relationship where the idea shouldn't sound that bad. He had your apartment's key. You had his. Both of you spent too much time in each other's apartment and were basically paying two rents without needing it. Probably only two nights a week, each of you slept in their bed.
His fingers traced irregular patterns on your back. Looking down at you, you rested your head on his chest, and your eyes were already closed. He knew you so well that he knew you weren't asleep yet, but Nick also knew that if he was going to pop the question, he had to do it now.
"Amor? Still awake?" He asked in a whisper. You shook your head slightly and let out a slight growl that only meant one thing: you were about to do it if it wasn't for his voice. "Sorry, but I need to ask you something..."
"What?" You answered without taking your head off from his body. You hugged him closer and let out a sigh. Your eyes were still closed.
"Would you move in with me?"
There was no response from you, so he looked at you again. Suddenly doubts and insecurity began to invade his thoughts, and he didn't know whether to be glad that you probably fell asleep and didn't listen to him or feel defeated because you didn't want to answer.
"Amor?" He decided to insist so he could stop his anxiousness.
You moved slightly again.
"Did you really think I would say no?"
A smile formed on his face, and his body relaxed.
"Maybe"
You shook your head, kissing his chest.
"Yes, I do want to move in with you," you said, pulling back a little to kiss his chest again. Immediately you placed your head back in his body. "But can we talk about apartments in the morning? I'm exhausted."
"Are you?" Nick asked. A tone of arrogance looming between the two words.
"Don't you?"
"No, I'm ready for the third round."
"No, you are not."
"No." Nick laughed and leaned down to kiss your head.
"I love you," you said in a whisper. Your breathing began to calm again, and Nick began to feel your body relaxing. It seemed like you were talking between dreams.
"I love you too," he said. You didn't answer. You didn't even move. He only felt your breaths on his chest. "I love you so much."
And with a little smile on his face, he closed his eyes, looking forward to waking up in the morning to start planning your future together.
