I just caught the official trailer for “Independence Day: Resurgence” as a huge fan of the original “Independence Day” it literally gave me chills. There are some familiar faces, and some new faces. The most familiar face that was missing, was Will Smith. I look forward to the storyline’s explanation of his absence from the film.
When a trailer gives me chills, it’s definitely on my must-see list. The original was an instant classic in my book - I hope the reboot was done right and is a compliment to the original story.

Caught this flick tonight...courtesy of my Mother. I wanted to see No Escape, but Mommy rules, so The Gift it was. On a scale of 1 to 5...it gets a 3. It kept me wanting more, and not in a good way. Initially it gave me a Pacific Heights - stalker feel...then it twisted into karma and “got ‘em.” Jason Bateman gave a dark comedic performance...I don’t think he could really help the comedic part though. I had more interest in guessing the films I remember the other cast members from, rather than the overall storyline...would have been an AWESOME Lifetime movie...for real!
I rate a film by my desire to see it again...this one fails.

End of Summer...
...looking forward to this last weekend of summer. Although it’s not the “official” start of Fall, it’s the known end of summer in my world. Back in my school days, we actually started school the day after Labor Day. I heard nowadays kids are starting as early as late July...whew!!
I digress.
Summer as an adult is just what you make it...as is the rest of life. Carefree nights and weekends, long days of doing nothing - or long days full of festivals, and other outdoor randomness. Breaking a sweat while walking in from the parking lot at work; to embracing the warmth when you dip out early from the gig/over air conditioned box. Mornings and afternoons by and in the pool...admiring the abs you worked so hard for in the Winter...thinking that if you done a few more sets of crunches you would be as right and tight as Beyonce. *flashback to Drunk in Love visual* Road trips and plane rides, beaches and bonfires...yeah...summer as an adult is just as carefree and refreshing as the good ol’ days as a kid.

Fantasy Football - Trying to Maintain...(Week 5-6)
Bye week, shyme week...
Bye weeks can really screw up the points and your match-up - so I'm learning. But that's why it pays to have an overall quality roster - and thank goodness my auto draft didn't totally disrespect me and my efforts of trying to maintain in this fantasy football madness. Lol! I went into week five (5) number 2 in both leagues, leading the score in one - as I took a look at my roster I realized I was at risk to lose both my match-ups and have a shitty crappy overall score for the week. Not maintaining. The damn bye week. So one roster was minus a TE, and the other had to use a sub-par WR who used to be the main back in the day (maybe he should bring those "struggle" braids back *shrug*). All in all, I ended up winning one out of my two match-ups, only dropped one spot down in one of the leagues while maintaining my number 2 spot in the other. Still maintaining.
This week (week 6), I'm looking pretty good. I just made some changes, filled in some of those punk ass bye week slots and changed my overall predicted score in both match-ups. My only hope is that either my opponents (who also had some bye week madness going on) either forget to make some changes, or don't have the resources necessary to make the changes. *evil chuckle*
I'm proud that I've been able to maintain, I really feel like I'm earning my points and "working hard" for them. I know there is still a long way to go - but my efforts thus far have been awesome and I will give myself the credit I deserve! *pats self on back*
Fingers crossed that this week is a success - happy football watching!!
