Did a #painting for a client. She wanted a painting of her family and I was free to do what ever I liked. I was inspired by the #AfricanAmerican #cubist #Artist by the name of #JacobLawrence I learned about him before Covid hit thru #TheMet I was excited to see the #exhibition but because of covid it didn't happen. So I looked up his art myself and read up and studied his work. I've grown to appreciate his style. So in honor of his work I made this painting. I liked the flatness of his painting but he still showed shadows and contrast. I did my best to emulate the same while still making her family photo feel familiar to my client.
