every morning after waking up and before I check my phone I can't help but just idk stupidly imagine that something happened while I slept and we got picked up by someone and my dash would be overflowing with screaming and sobbing and I know, trust me, I knowww it's so stupid and dumb but I just- ugh

Feeling very frustrated about the cancellation again today. I can't decide if it would be better if there was something we could point to, to help ease the blow of how unfair it was even a little. I almost wish I could shrug and say "well, it was probably just because xyz." But season 2 was good, the viewership numbers were excellent. So much love went into this show from every angle. We did everything right, and it still wasn't enough.

And that only drives home even stronger how unfair this cancellation was. It's so obvious that they just didn't want to renew this gay show with a writer's room and cast full of people of color, because they don't think stories about people like us are worth telling as much as some bland, straight, overwhelmingly white IP.

all i'm saying is it might not be completely over, just whatever deal was being negotiated fell and David wanted to be honest and stop people from expecting announcement anytime soon. it's over for now, but these things can take months, years in some cases. i don't think we should stop being loud about the show, bc who knows, maybe months from now, things could change

I think that's a great point. Definitely continuing to show our love for this show will be the best we can do to support the creators and the cast. I know some folks have mentioned that it's possible David had to make that announcement because the cast themselves needed the green light to move on to other projects, which is a fair assumption in my opinion. I dont think it's over. I think we're still here, we just may need to change the focus of our efforts a bit.

it’s my 28th birthday in march and i’m crowdfunding for my top surgery! going private is the only option thanks to 4-5 year waiting lists for NHS consultations in the UK, and i haven’t even been referred to a GIC as of now. of course i’ll be putting my own funds towards the costs but at an average cost of £5,000-£8,000 it would take me years to save - a position myself and many other trans people are in, which breaks my heart. i wish trans healthcare was better than this.

i am so unhappy as i am. i want to get married in a few years in a body that feels like my own. i want to be happy with how my clothes fit. i want to not wear a binder every day, especially as a chronic asthmatic. i want to not feel depressed and uncomfortable and sick to my stomach about my chest. i just want to live, instead of feeling like my life is stuck on hold. i want to go into my 30s as a new man.

i’ll keep my justgiving page and my tumblr updated as i go forwards with consultations, finding a surgeon, gender dysphoria referrals and all that jazz! i currently have an appointment to get my dysphoria diagnosis and we'll go from there!

Remember the focus group/surveys we mentioned yesterday on yougov.com? Well some folks have been trying to sign up and been having some issues finding OFMD, so our lovely, sweet, amazing @libbyroseitm was kind enough to make a tutorial for everyone! Twitter Thread. YouGov rating tutorial! Make an account first, then follow these steps. If you'd like to see what kinds of questions it asks for you to sign up, visit here. Step 1: On your Account page, scroll down until you see a link for "View All Ratings", and click that

Step 2: You'll be taken to a screen that says "Rate Everything", click on the link for "Not What you're looking for?" and it will pop up a model that gives you a button to click that says "Previous Version" Click that.

Step 3: Once in the new version, type the name of the show (or actor, writer, etc) you'd like to rate

Step 4: Select your show when it pops up, and then rate it and add an opinion if you'd like!

Special Notes:

People probably aught to be careful to keep personal information to themselves.

You can search for actors and other films and tv shows related to OFMD, not just the show itself.

Especially as I'm only on Reddit and got a Tumblr account 4 days ago to keep track of OFMD (Twitter/X is just too overwhelming for me lol). What was your take on Rhys Darby's Cameo video in regards to making you feel more hopeful/less hopeful/neither but it was still lovely? With the deafening silence from David Jenkins and worrying that the morale is dropping, it's irresistible not to start feeling a bit of doom, you know? Any response appreciated, but regardless, thank you so much for the work you're doing ❤️

Hello my dear! Welcome to tumblr, we're so glad to have you! I really should get on reddit sometime (I get notifications when certain posts get busy but I just always forget to check them). I totally get that Twitter is overwhelming, it's a tornado of information--and thank you! I'm so glad you're getting something out of the updates!

My take on the Rhys Darby cameo, ay? Well I'll be honest, I thrive on even a little bit of feedback so I was 100% pumped after that yesterday. It sounds silly but I went and cried in the shower for 20 mins because I was feeling torn between the sadness for Rhys and what he lost and was feeling and then also the beautifully kind and positive advice he was giving us.

After that-- I basically felt like someone called Gondor for aid and I was a raging pile of need for action. I actually feel more hopeful now, but I think Rhys has that affect on people. Like that man could tell me the sky was blue and I'd grin like a toddler with a lollipop and nod and feel like I could take on the day.

I do totally get that doom and gloom feeling that comes with the silence. We need that feedback from the people we're fighting for to keep morale up. That being said though--- I've noticed a trend over the past few weeks since cancellation, and that is that when we start feeling down, someone in the cast/crew starts poking their nose out. Usually its Chaos Dad (David Jenkins) but all of a sudden when things are slowing down again this week, Rhys puts himself up on Cameo, two days before the UK launch of s2? I just don't believe in coincidences in most cases, especially when we're all watching things so closely. It may make me sound like a conspiracy theorist but I do truly believe that a huge chunk of the cast and crew is watching our actions and reactions to things very carefully (Hell, Alex Sherman is over on twitter liking a bunch of fan art and porn, so at least we have our little perverted guardian angel!). They just seem to keep popping up at the exact right moments to help rally the troops for them not to be.

The difficulty with negotiations in any industry is the whole Non Disclosure Agreement that comes along with people potentially taking on new clients/funding new projects. Legitimately, there could be a contract in the works right now with a network and we already have our s3, but we just can't know about it because that would damage / threaten negotiations. It could be the other way too, but with how supportive Chaos Dad and Rhys and the rest of the crew have been just popping in and out like little bubbles of positivity, I really feel like we have still have some hope here. It's just really hard to be patient when we're all pushing so hard-- which is why breaks are so important. Anywhoooo, I've had my coffee so I'm obviously rambling at this point-- thank you so much dear for writing into me! I hope that answers your question... I am feeling overwhelmingly positive after Rhys' videos and feeling very mama bear on wanting to protect that man by doubling down on efforts, lol. So glad you're will us on tumblr friend!
