After not writing in months I'm back writing about Harry Potter and I thought of this while crying.
As far as I know the only thing we know about Filch during the battle of Hogwarts is that only he helped students escape.
So what if in the attempt to survive Filch takes his wand (which he used to practice with in hope of doing magic) to hide he is a squib. As they run Filch and the students encountered a Death Eater who was ready to attack.
Thanks to the fear he felt, Filch automatically moved his hand imitating how the students did when they would practice spells in the halls. His surprise was big when he saw a spell knocking down the Death Eater.
In shock, he stares at his wand without noticing Fred Weasley hiding behind a wall with his wand in hand.
Filch believed he knocked out the Death Eater thanks to his hard studies over the years.
Nobody told Filch about what really happened, being this the last encounter Fred and Filch had before Fred died.

from the demographic i have acquired from my twitter, i have seen the trend:
fred weasley favs are to steve harrington favs;
Tumblr media
the same goes for george weasley favs are to eddie munson favs.
Tumblr media
with tumblr being a different environment as compared to twitter (a larger demographic, at that from my moots), i would like to know whether the same is applied here.
you are free to disagree.

Just watched Wakanda Forever and as Mexican, Tenoch makes me so proud, the way he talks in so many interviews (in Spanish) about how everyone can make their dreams come true and seeing him with tears in his eyes talks about it (and how happy it makes him when people sees him as a role model) makes me damn happy
(and watching an small part of the Mexican culture and history in these types of amazing and popular movies makes me remember those times when my mom would guide me to learn about our past cultures and history by taking me to museums and reading books like el Popol vuh just makes my small heart prouder)

hi! love ur writing :) i was just wondering if there will be a sequel to this like how steve living his life now that shes gone? thankyou sending lots of love xx
Dancing with your ghost (Tolerate It Pt. 3)
Steve Harrington x Reader - Angst
Pt. 1: Tolerate it
Pt. 2: “So Close”
Tumblr media
Summary: After your death Steve tried to continue with his life, but it is very difficult considering that everything reminds him of you and he cannot stop visiting you.
A/N: I'm finally back, and with angst because I like to cry for fictional characters lol. I've been late because I might also do a version with a happy ending (and because, if you haven't noticed, I do this kind of fics based on songs I love and I think it would fit with what's happening in the fic, but I´m also spending hours listening and remembering the lyrics to make it perfect). Thanks for the request!
Based on: Dancing with your Ghost - Sasha Alex Sloan
Warning: Main character death, angst, sadness
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yellin´ at the sky
Screamin at the world
Baby, why´d you go away?
Steve's footsteps were all that could be heard against the pavement, the loneliness he found himself in was the best company he could count on, a small bouquet of white flowers remained in his hand as he walked up the hill.
It has been weeks since you left, Steve's eyes still filled with tears as he remembers holding you in his arms as he slowly carried you out of the house, the heavy breathing of the boys could be contrasted with the sobbing of the girls. Every night Steve remembers your mother's screams as she held you in her arms trying to wake her little girl, your father holding Steve tightly as he shook him.
How could he not save his daughter?
Steve also asked himself the same question every day, maybe if he had paid more attention he would have seen the signs, maybe if he had stopped to talk to you he could have saved you, maybe…
The man shook his head trying to push those thoughts away. Robin had said that it wasn't healthy, that it would only hurt him even more. She was the only one who had visited Steve after what had happened.
Arriving at the place he was looking for, Steve just sat down on the grass and passed the flowers from one hand to the other trying to control his anxiety, ran his tongue over his dry lips and began to speak.
Never got the chance
To say a last goodbye
I gotta move on
But it hurts to try
The words came naturally from the man's lips, even in these moments you had the gift that let Steve open his soul and tell you everything he was thinking and feeling.
"Sorry I'm late, I've been helping the town with donations, there are still many missing but no one has given up on finding them yet, there is still hope" Steve commented as a greeting.
"You know? Max still cries for you, she can't help but feel guilty even when the guys already told her it was your decision..." The man's brown eyes became crystalline as he took a ragged breath. "She lost a sibling again after all."
Steve ran his hand over his face trying to wipe away the drops falling from his eyes, the scent of flowers permeating between his fingers.
"Every night I listen to the cassettes you left at my house the last time you went over. I can't help but think that if I listen to them long enough you're going to walk in the door like nothing happened" A quiet chuckle comes from the man as he hears his thoughts coming to life through his voice.
You weren't coming back.
"Robin and Vicky are finally dating, Rob says they are just friends but you and I know better, when something happens I promise to come and tell you" Steve smiled at the thought of how much you would love to hear all about the girls. "Your parents are moving out of Hawkins, they can't bear the thought of being here without their daughter...I can't be without you either" He commented as his smile faded and sobs replaced his laughter.
Steve brought his hand back up to his face and hid your mouth behind it in a sad attempt to quiet his moans.
How do I love, how do I love again?
How do I trust, how do I trust again?
"I miss you so much (y/n), there isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss everything about you, everywhere I turn I can see you, I can't be at home without thinking of you, I can't be with the kids without breaking down in tears remembering you with them, I swear I try to live but you left an imprint on my life impossible to erase" The man took a big breath of air and continued. "Why did you do it? Why didn't you tell us? We would have come up with a plan, I would have stayed with you to protect you, I would have run faster to be with you, to save you..."
The man's sobs were impossible to hide. Steve had been through so much these past few years and could not take it anymore, he too has suffered for a long time and had finally reached a limit. After all he is human too.
"How much I would give for you to be here, to exchange your place, to hug you one more time, to kiss you one more time" commented Steve in a low voice while he looked at his hands, in one of them were the white flowers he had brought, without more to say he put them in front of the tombstone with your name together with the ones he had brought a few days ago and stood up while he put his trembling hands in the pockets of his jacket.
"I promise not to take long to visit you again, I'll come as fast as I can, okay? Don't forget that I love you, I never stopped loving you. I'll try to bring the cassettes so we can listen to them together" Steve took one of his hands to bring it to his lips and leave a small kiss and then put his hand gently on the tombstone. "I miss you so much (y/n)" The man mumbled like a little kid, then turned around and walked back to his car with pain in his heart.
I put the record on
Wait ´til I hear our song
Every night I´m dancing
With your ghost
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A/N: Well, I tried to stick with the ask as much as I could, more than anything I wanted to emphasize that Steve has been through a lot and that it is necessary for him to get everything out. it's something you don't see in the series and it's necessary to remember. It's small but I think it's what Steve would do.
I hope you like it and I'll try not to disappear so much, college is consuming my life lol.

The Broken Hearts Club – Lovers Ending Eddie Munson x reader
Tumblr media
The Broken Hearts Club
Friends Ending
A/N: Friends Ending was quicker to finish tbh. As promised, here is the second and alternate ending (Personally this is the real ending but I wanted to do the other one lol).
I think the tags are failing me, could you help me to tell if everything is ok please?
Summary: this time, you decided to look.
Warnings: curses, angst, fluff, sour. To understand this you should read “The Broken Hearts Club” and has a bit of the Friends Ending
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eddie had never driven so fast as he had that morning that he was surprised that no officer had stopped him to give him a ticket, but that was the last thing on his mind. Desperation coursed through his veins as he reached Robin's house and got out of his car with speed, with clumsy hands he managed to open his car door and ran to the door to ring the doorbell desperately.  Receiving no answer he opted to bang on the door until someone opened it.
Minutes later a disheveled Robin opened the door with a frown on her face as she looked at the boy in confusion.
"Dumbass it's 9:13 after graduation night. You better have a good excuse" Robin said as she hid her yawn behind her hand and closed one of her eyes thanks to the daylight.
"I went to her house and couldn't find her, half her room was empty and I don't know who else to turn to" Eddie started to ramble causing Robin to now close both eyes from the shock of words that had hit her. She only held up her hands for the boy to stop. As she looked at him she could notice his rapid breathing and his eyes moving from side to side trying to figure out what was going on.
"What are you talking about?" Robin asked slowly causing Eddie to close his eyes for a moment.
"Robin..." That was the first time Eddie had said her name in years of knowing each other. "Where is (y/n)?" He asked slowly causing Robin to slowly open her eyes as she understood what was going on.
"Shit..." Murmured the girl.
-.-
Eddie returned to his trailer feeling lost, disoriented, not knowing what to think. The boy stayed inside his van for a few minutes to think about everything that had happened in the last few weeks. Robin had told him everything.
'Why didn´t she tell me about Columbia?' was all Eddie could think.
Slowly he got out of his car and with heavy steps walked into his trailer where Wayne was already preparing breakfast, who when he heard the door open slowly turned around while his eyes were still on the stove. When he finally looked at the entrance he found the image of his nephew trying to hold back his tears, Eddie's hands remained at his side as they opened and closed trying to disappear the tension he was feeling at that moment, his body was slightly curled up as if trying to protect his already wounded heart.
Wayne could have sworn that Eddie was back to being an 8 year old boy as he came back in tears because he had fallen. With nothing more to say Wayne set the spatula down on the small bar and opened his arms as Eddie slowly walked over to take refuge in his uncle's arms and try to forget the pain he was going through.
They both stayed like that for a few minutes, surrounded by the summer heat and the smell of burning food. But Wayne didn't care, he only thought about keeping his nephew safe from the cruel reality around him as he had done years ago when Eddie came into his life.
The boy, in tears, was the first to break away so he could wipe his face with both hands, in his chest he could still feel the pressure which did not let him breathe properly.
His best friend was gone.
Now Eddie felt empty, with no motivation to do anything. Remembering again what Robin had said, sadness began to turn to anger. For so many years they had been best friends, why the fuck didn't you tell him you were moving out of Hawkins?! So many ideas began to fill Eddie's mind that the boy had to sit down to keep from falling to the ground at that moment. Wayne, noticing his nephew, turned off the stove which was keeping breakfast burning, and sat down with his nephew to rest his hand on the boy's knee and stare at him.
"Eddie, what's wrong?" asked Wayne even though he already had suspicions as to why his nephew was like this, Eddie ran his hand over his face and then placed it on the table.
"(Y/n) went to Columbia, I...I didn't know anything. Today I tried to look for her and tell her that I love her, now I understand why nobody opened the door of her house, now everything makes sense, but what I don't understand is why she didn't tell me anything? All those years of friendship didn't matter to her?!" Eddie was rambling so fast Wayne only caught a few words.
"She already left?" Wayne asked with some sadness that the girl had not said goodbye to him. Eddie turned so quickly that for a moment he thought he had hurt himself.
"You knew (y/n) was going to Columbia?" the young man asked without hesitation, finally a lot of things were coming out and he couldn't wait any longer. Eddie watched as his uncle let out a sigh and nodded slowly. Another stab crossed Eddie's heart as he learned that Wayne also knew about his best friend's plans. Eddie stood up quickly causing his vision to paint black for a few seconds, slowly regaining the image in front of him. "Why didn't you tell me?!" Wayne put both hands on his knees to slowly get up, age was already taking its toll on him.
"She wanted to be the one to tell you" Wayne moved closer to his nephew as he moved away so his uncle wouldn't touch him. None of this made any sense, if you wanted to tell her the news, why didn't you. Eddie looked toward the trailer door for a few seconds.
"I got news for you, she never told me" Eddie replied with anger radiating from him, Wayne shook his head as he tried to approach Eddie again.
"Of course not, you were just with that girl, with the cheerleader. Even when she came to tell me you weren't" Wayne said defending you and showing his nephew what was really going on. Eddie shook his head.
"No, Chrissy and I weren't always together, at lunch she...she always..." Eddie couldn't complete his sentence as he remembered that Chrissy and he did spend all their time together, he couldn't think of a time when just you and he were alone in the last few weeks. Eddie ran his hand over his forehead as he understood the reasons why you hadn't told him. The boy passed saliva feeling his throat close with difficulty thanks to the knot that was still in it.
"Eddie..." Wayne tried to regain his nephew's attention but he only slowly turned to get up from the chair and walked towards his room, Eddie held up his hand in a sign that he had heard him.
"I just...I want to be alone" Eddie muttered as he walked into his room and closed the door, preventing any trace of light from coming in with him.
-.-
At the beginning of October, the cold wind was beginning to make itself felt in the crazy city of New York, making everyone take out their jackets to show them off among the yellowish and brownish tones of the leaves falling from the trees. By this time you had already been in college for several weeks and with your friends you went to coffee every Friday in an attempt to get to know each other better.
The coffee shop where you were going was nice - homely in your opinion - in the center was a couch that was almost always occupied by another group of friends so you always chose the area next to the window. You had never wanted a hot drink as much as you did at that moment, several books were on the tables in front of you while the music of the place was accompanied by the laughter of your new friends.
Marnie, your roommate, stood in front of you with a cup of tea in her hands to keep them warm. Carol, Marnie's girlfriend, stood next to her listening to John's story as she bit into the muffin she had ordered. John stood next to you as he talked about his childhood in Chicago and his experiences about trying to scare his neighborhood with his friends, his legs crossed and his hands on them as he moved his hands to dramatize his story.
At one point John reminded you a lot of Eddie when he told his stories, always looking to make them more interesting with different tones of voice to give personality to everyone in his stories. But John wasn't Eddie and could never be, your best friend still held your heart and you knew it was going to be hard to let him go.
"Are you listening (y/n)? The best part is coming up" John interrupted your thoughts so you turned to look at him as he stood up to probably act out some scene or memory from his childhood. You nodded to take your coffee with one hand while with the other you signaled him to continue with his story. Your friend smiled and continued to tell his story with excitement making you laugh.
You took a small sip of your coffee which warmed your throat quickly, the yellowish lights of the place managed to relax you, taking away your worries momentarily and the wind was noticeable through the window. As you took another sip you felt something strange in your chest, as if you had to do something.
You turned to see Marnie and she was laughing at something John had said and was still standing, Carol had stood up for a moment, so they couldn't be your friends. You looked around, the cafe was not as crowded as you expected on a cold autumn afternoon but other than that everything was normal. Finally you took a fleeting glance through the window to make sure everything was in order but a dark colored figure caught your eye.
Eddie Munson was standing a few feet away from you.
You looked at him in surprise for a few seconds to make sure it wasn't a creation of your mind that you missed him so much, you blinked a couple of times but Eddie was still there, hands in his pants pockets and hair tousled by the wind. His van was behind him as if it was the only witness of his presence in New York.
You slowly put down your coffee cup as you continued to watch him, your breathing was getting faster by the second and your hands were shaking. You stood up as fast as you could when you saw that Eddie had turned around, your friends looked at you quizzically as you awkwardly got out of your chair and gently pushed John to let you pass. As you left the cafeteria you could feel the cold wind hitting your face making you close your eyes for a moment, when you opened them you noticed that Eddie was getting closer and closer to his car, so you accelerated your steps to catch up with him. You couldn't lose him.
Not again.
"Eddie" you muttered loud enough for him to hear. Slowly Eddie looked up at you, his eyes swept over your face until he ended up looking into your eyes, you could notice the redness in the boy's cheeks and nose thanks to the cold. His shoulders were moving subtly up and down proving to you that he was not dressed warmly for the cold he was facing, wearing only his leather jacket and denim vest.
Behind you you could hear quick footsteps approaching you but you couldn't take your eyes off the boy.
"Eddie, what are you doing here?" out of your mouth came the only thing going through your mind, you approached Eddie while raising a hand but he took a step backwards away from you.
"I...I was just leaving" Eddie said through his teeth. "I didn't mean to upset you" you denied at your best friend's response. A hand landed on your shoulder causing Eddie to look down as if he was in pain. Turning you saw John behind you, with a frown you moved your shoulder to remove the boy's hand.
"Eddie, please" Your best friend started to walk to his car making you follow him to his car, but you were stopped again by John who put his hand now on your arm making you turn to look at him.
"John let me go!" you exclaimed angry at everything that was going on, you were confused and didn't know what to do. Marnie, recognizing Eddie from everything you had told her, walked over to John to pull him by his jacket so he wouldn't interfere with you anymore. Eddie started his car and looked at you one last time.
"Glad to see you're okay (y/n)" He commented with crystal clear eyes through the window and then started the car, driving away from you once more.
-.-
The middle of December was when the terrible cold of Indiana was most noticeable, the colored lights adorned the houses of the town of Hawkins getting ready for Christmas. The streets were covered with a small layer of snow making the place look like a Christmas movie.
Since returning from New York, Eddie didn't talk as much as he used to, his mind was filled with images of you smiling in the cafeteria with that boy, images of your face flushed from the cold when you went out to see him. Even his mind was so cruel to him that it created images of you with the boy behind you. Maybe at this moment you were meeting him somewhere nice in New York while Eddie was thinking about you inside his trailer. The boy couldn't stop thinking about your sparkling eyes as he tried to figure out why he was there.
Eddie also wondered why he had gone.
Robin and the guys from the Hellfire club would visit him from time to time to see how he was doing, to placate and keep Eddie's big imagination off of you. Sometimes Eddie would just nod while smiling at whatever the guys were talking about or just lift his shoulders when Robin asked him something. Even Wayne couldn't get more than 10 words out of Eddie, worrying the man gravely.
The days passed slowly, sometimes Eddie would write in his notebook where he planned new campaigns, but always ended up writing about you, other times he would try to write new songs for Corrored Coffin but still ended up writing about you as he remembered the times they spent together before everything went to shit, even on the nights he smoked he would imagine you next to him, talking about life and laughing out loud and then sleeping together as it should have been from the beginning. His mind, heart and soul longed to be with you.
Today Eddie found himself with a cigarette between his lips while his guitar sat between his legs, repeating over and over again the same melody until he could find the best way to connect it with the lyrics that were written down in front of him. His imagination was so busy that he didn't hear the first knocking on the trailer door, it wasn't until minutes later as the knocking became more and more desperate that he put down his guitar with a groan and stood up making several of his bones thunder from the time he had been sitting.
He left the cigarette in the ashtray next to his bed and slowly walked to the door, his bare feet met the cold floor of the hallway but the feeling was ignored by the knocking that could still be heard at the door.
Eddie, thinking it was the boys looking for news of him, opened the door harshly surprising the person standing in front of it. Before facing reality Eddie ran a hand over his eyes to remove the tiredness from them, when he saw who it was he froze in front of the door.
You were looking at him with your eyes wide with surprise and one hand raised to continue knocking on the door.
You both looked into each other's eyes for a few seconds until a gust of air hit making you cross your arms to shelter a little warmth.
"For a moment there I had forgotten how cold Hawkins was" you smiled for a moment but your best friend was still staring at you as if you were another creation of his imagination wiping away your smile. "May I... may I come in?" your comment elicited a reaction from the boy, who only moved to let you in.
The trailer was just as you remembered it, there were a few more cups on the kitchen table making you smile again. Wayne's love of mugs was something that always brought happiness to you. The smell of cigarette smoke flooded the place bringing back memories with it.
"What are you doing here?" Eddie's hoarse voice startled you making you turn quickly to see him, the boy's gaze shifted from the floor to your eyes and then stayed on the floor.
"I wanted to talk to you, after all we couldn't do that in Columbia" you commented as you crossed your arms as if trying to protect yourself from the inevitable small talk.
"I don't think we have anything to talk about" Eddie commented in a curt manner making you frown.
"Why did you go to Columbia Eddie" Your best friend walked towards his room making you follow him, the boy picked up his guitar to put it back in its place. The room looked messier compared to the last time you saw him. "Eddie, why did you go to the University?" The boy just shrugged his shoulders as if he was a kid.
"I don't know...I just wanted to see if you were okay. If you were happy" He commented quietly as he played with the rings on his fingers and bit his bottom lip slightly in an attempt to not confess anything else. "I wanted to see you."
You just leaned against the wall of his room thinking about what he had said, the tension in the room made you sad, it was as if there was a barrier between the two of you. One that you both had built without thinking about it.
"Why didn't you tell me about Columbia?" Eddie asked as he looked you in the eye. Just like him you only lifted your shoulders then sighed.
"I tried, but I couldn't find the time" You said as you looked at the floor in an attempt to escape his gaze. After minutes of silence you could hear Eddie take a big breath of air.
"I'm in love with you" he blurted out suddenly causing you to look at him in surprise, Eddie was looking everywhere but at you. "I have been for years" his confession left you speechless as a thousand thoughts crossed your mind.
"But...what about Chrissy?" your question made the boy smile.
"She found out about a week after you left. Instead of getting mad she said she should have told you and that I should look you up" Eddie went on without seeing you so he didn't notice the smile that graced your face.
"She was always a good person" You muttered causing Eddie to nod. "Why didn't you tell me sooner" Your best friend took some time to think and then let out a sigh.
"I was afraid, I didn't know if you felt the same way and I didn't want to lose you, besides you deserved someone better than me" He commented as he rested his gaze on his feet and his shoulders were slightly hunched as if he were a child who had been caught in a prank.
You took small steps to get in front of him but Eddie was determined not to see you. Slowly your hand rose to caress Eddie's cheek making him finally turn to look at you, his eyes passed over your face until they stopped on your lips.
"I will always want you Eddie Munson" And when you least thought it your lips were on Eddie's, the boy quickly responded by returning the kiss. Your other hand ran down his neck as Eddie's arms wrapped around your waist making you feel weak in your legs. Your back curved slightly as Eddie's body wrapped around you. The two of you fit together perfectly like two pieces that could finally meet.
Eddie went from kissing you on the lips to leaving small kisses down your cheek to moving down your neck making you move your neck slightly to give him more room, your hands ran through Eddie's tousled hair in an attempt to pull him closer to you.
"I missed you so much" Eddie murmured from the small curve of your neck.
"I missed you more" you replied between sighs as you felt Eddie's small kisses, the boy let out a silent smile.
"Impossible" Eddie replied and then continued kissing softly. From your lips came small sighs which were well received by Eddie's ear making the boy continue kissing your neck and then go up to your face and kiss your lips again in a more desperate way.
Eddie kissed you like a thirsty man who had finally found his oasis, his arms caressing your waist and back as if he was trying to enjoy every moment and not miss a thing. Years of waiting had finally paid off.
They were both lost with each other until a scream separated them only to turn to the entrance and see the door was closing.
"Oh my god my eyes!" Robin's voice could be heard outside Eddie's trailer making you both turn to look at each other in surprise at what was happening and then laugh loudly, still in each other's arms.
"I told you to knock first!" Steve's voice could be heard a little further away but it was easy to make out. "Don't tell me you found them having..."
"No! But almost!" continued Robin as she continued to complain. "Mr. Munson don't go in there!"
"Old man was early" Eddie lifted his hand from your waist to look at his watch as you gave him a light smack on the chest for the name causing Eddie to let out a small laugh. You both walked towards the door to leave, Wayne looked quizzically at Robin as she continued to rub her eyes and Steve sighed at his friend's actions.
Wayne, upon seeing you, smiled as his eyes lit up, you broke away from Eddie to hug his uncle. The man held you in his arms tightly as he rocked you slightly from side to side.
"You're finally came to visit us" Wayne murmured as he looked happily at his nephew who had a small smile on his face, a sight Wayne hadn't seen in months. "Are you going to spend Christmas with us?" He asked as he pulled away from you to look at you.
"Sure! I wouldn't miss it for anything!" You commented making the man smile even wider. When he let you go Robin and Steve came over to hug you while Wayne went to his nephew.
"Is that a smile on your face?" Wayne asked causing Eddie's cheeks to turn slightly red.
"What can I say, I finally feel complete" smiled Eddie as he watched you talk to Robin.
-------------------
Extra:
"Ready?" Eddie asked you as he held an envelope in his hands, you looked at him nervously with your package in hands.
"Ready" you replied. You took a sigh and put your package inside the mailbox, inside was your first piece of writing ready to be sent to a publisher. Eddie left a small kiss on your envelope which contained a cassette of Corrored Coffin songs and let it go with your book inside the mailbox to a producer who had spoken to Eddie a few weeks ago.
Seeing that both packages were secured to be sent Eddie gave you a kiss on the forehead to get your attention.
"We're leaving?" your boyfriend commented as you nodded and then both of you walked to the apartment you shared.
"Are you going to play something for me?" you asked causing the boy to let out a laugh.
"For you? As many songs as you want" Eddie replied as he brought your hand to his lips and left a small kiss on your knuckles.
Your lives were just beginning and you couldn't wait to find out what life had in store for the two of you, together.

The Broken Hearts Club
Lovers Ending
Please read! A/N: Hellooo, thank you very much for all the support the first part had, honestly I was surprised to see that many liked it! As I mentioned, I will make two-second parts. This one is the friends ending, and rn I'm writing lovers ending. This idea was based on the movie 'Everything, Everywhere, All at Once' especially about how a single action can change your life completely (watch it, it's a work of art, I'm still crying). I'M STILL WORKING ON LOVERS ENDING, I MAY PUBLISH IT BETWEEN THE END OF THE WEEK AND BEGINNING OF NEXT WEEK so stay tuned.
Summary: Years have passed since you moved away from Hawkins in order to fulfill your dreams. But a small invitation made you have to return to the town where you grew up, opening with it several memories and discovering new truths.
Warnings: curses, angst, fluff, sour moments, nostalgic, mentions of death, right person-wrong time trope. To understand this you should read “The Broken Hearts Club”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Days turned into weeks, into months, into years. There wasn't a day that went by that you didn't miss Eddie Munson with all your being. However, you knew you had to move on with your life. In college you met John, a guy with whom you shared several classes and went out with him and a group of friends for coffee every Friday, to talk about their lives, little by little you were meeting more people getting to have a group of friends with whom you shared everything. In November of your first year in college you decided not to return to Hawkins, maybe it was the fear of seeing Eddie or maybe you had convinced yourself that it was not the best idea to return to the past, so you spent all your vacations in your dorm which you shared with a roommate.
After a few months you and John started dating. He was everything you wanted in someone to be with you for the rest of your years, but you couldn't help but miss Eddie, sometimes you would wake up and dream of going to the kitchen of your apartment and meeting your best friend but it always ended in disappointment to find John instead.
Time went on and you were able to finish school and graduate. In a moment of courage you sent invitations to Robin, Steve and Eddie. Days later, at your graduation you were reunited with your best friend who arrived with an older looking Vicky besides her, Steve arrived in the middle of the ceremony but in time to see you go up to the stage and receive your diploma, when he saw you he only stood up with Robin to raise his arms and salute you while they celebrated for you. On that day John and Robin met.
"Meh, you're not as cute as Tom Cruise" Robin commented as she lifted her shoulders, Vicky and Steve tried to shut her up while John just laughed at the comment and nodded. You swore that seeing them all together would fill a hole in your heart. But it didn't, a part of you was trying not to cry at the disappointment.
Eddie didn’t went.
That same night you said goodbye to your friends and together with John you went to an apartment you both had rented in New York that you soon made your own as the weeks went by. There were days when you were happy as you wrote and lived life to the fullest. But there were other moments, where the city lights were accompanied by raindrops, when you thought of Eddie the most, remembering the times you had spent together, thinking of the laughs you had shared and the glances that went unnoticed by the rest to end with the sad memory of the last time you both spoke. Many sleepless nights you wondered why you hadn't waited a few more seconds, why you hadn't stopped to talk, why you hadn't just listened.
Soon you managed to publish your first book, the process was hard but not impossible and one day you finally had it in your hands. As you looked at it you felt John's presence congratulating you, but you only thought about how strange that moment felt. There was no doubt that you were happy, but you also knew that you wanted to live this part of your life together with your best friend. You had never felt so lonely as you did in that moment that should have been filled with happiness.
Years continued to pass quickly, you continued to publish several books and make your name known to people who enjoyed reading. At the celebration for your last book John gave a speech talking about how special you were and ended up getting down on one knee and asking you to marry him in front of the rest of the guests, who applauded with excitement when they saw the ring in the hand of the man in front of you. It was not the way you would have wanted to be asked to marry but you did not hesitate to say yes. The rest of your cold October days passed quietly until a letter arrived in all greens and oranges.
'86' Gen we invite you to the Hawkins High School Alumni Reunion. Don't miss!'
Your heart pounded at the thought of returning to Hawkins, returning to the town that saw you grow up and the one you hadn't visited in the last ten years. Noticing the date of the reunion you decided to quickly pack your bag, plan your trip and pause the lectures you had scheduled. John could only see you going from one place to another getting organized.
By the time it was time to leave, you were all set to return and meet up with your old colleagues. Hopefully Steve and Robin would be there too.
"Sure you don't want me to come with you?" John asked from his desk, sheets in hand ready to be sorted to form his concept to create his new book. You looked at him with a smile and shook your head.
"I'd like to go alone, see my friends, cry while we drown ourselves in alcohol and remember everything we lived through" you joked causing John to let out a serious laugh as he nodded. Your fiancé got up leaving his writing on the desk and walked over to you to kiss you.
"Remember I'm just a phone call away" He commented softly making you nod. You both shared one more kiss then parted, you grabbed your suitcase and left the apartment to head to your car.
The drive to Hawkins was too long, almost 12 hours on the road was not easy but you needed to see all that had changed in the last 10 years. The ring on your finger was shining thanks to the sun's rays coming through your window. You could perfectly remember the scenery around you as you drove into town. Many places you knew had closed, other buildings had lost their color and there weren't many people on the street anymore, everything looked grayer.
Or maybe you got used to the crazy life in New York.
You passed in front of the high school and could see several people arranging the gymnasium for the meeting that was going to happen that night, even the school looked smaller than you remembered. Arriving at the small hotel you booked a room and started to get ready, opting to wear a formal black dress for the occasion. Your nerves were growing as the time to leave for the meeting approached, the cold night did not take long to cool down the town. The walk to the school was short, from outside you could see the lights illuminate the place and the music created the atmosphere welcoming all those who wanted to enter.
"There's my favorite writer" shouted a voice making you turn around quickly. Robin stood behind you with a smile on her face, still wearing her favorite patterned jacket, ripped jeans and black Docs. The woman rushed up to you and caught you in her arms, you let out a laugh as you hugged her anyway. You had missed your best friend. Behind her was Vicky, who you quickly recognized by her reddish hair, as you separated from Robin you approached Vicky to greet her.
"At least one of us followed with her love" you jokingly commented causing another voice to join the group.
"Oh shut it, where's Johnny boy?" turning around you found Steve as he stuck his hands in his pants pockets and slowly approached. You gave a little yelp of joy and rushed over to the man to hug him and then were pulled in by Robin who wrapped Steve in a huge hug. You finally felt like you had come home.
“He stayed at home. I wanted to come alone” You answered while bringing your hand to your ear to move your hair to get a better view of your friends.
Vicky, upon seeing the ring on your finger let out a scream and hugged you again excitedly causing Robin and Steve to separate strangely, you only raised your left hand to show them the ring that adorned it causing them both to approach to congratulate you. The four of you started walking towards the gym as you talked about what had happened since you last saw each other.
"I knew it, you are going to have cute babies, I called it since highschool " Robin commented making you let out a laugh.
As you entered the place you noticed several of their former classmates who were chatting animatedly amongst themselves. It wasn't long when Robin let out a loud 'Hey!' while pointing with both hands, meters away from her were Nancy accompanied by a nice dressed Jonathan, your best friend grabbed Vicky and Steve's arms to run towards the couple, leaving you alone for a few seconds.
"Hey" Said an unmistakable voice behind you making you take a big breath of air and then turn around.
Eddie Munson stood in front of you after 10 years of not seeing him. He was taller now, you could notice a few more tattoos, he had cut his hair and grown a beard. His eyes were still the same, among the brown shades you could notice a familiar twinkle.
"Hey..." you muttered as you watched him, you didn't know what else to say, after all their last talk was the fight that had separated them. Eddie shoved his hands into the pockets of his leather jacket and swayed slowly trying to figure out what to say.
"How are you?" Said the man in front of you in a shaky voice. Eddie had missed you like crazy and to think that this was the first time you had spoken in a long time didn't help with his nerves. His question surprised you.
"All fine and nice" You turned to look at the decorated gym for a few moments then turned to see Eddie looking at you with a feeling you couldn't recognize. "Ten years already? How fast life goes by" you tried to make conversation but to no avail as you saw that Eddie was still silent. The air around him was tense and you didn't know what else to do.
"I've missed you so much ink" Eddie muttered using your old nickname causing a small pressure in your body. You couldn't hold back any longer so you moved in for a hug taking the man by surprise. However it didn't take long for him to wrap his arms around you.
"I missed you way more" you commented on his shoulder as you hugged him even tighter. You had waited for this moment for years and it had finally arrived. "What have you done? So many years you had to do something with your life" you joked as you pulled away from him. Eddie shrugged his shoulders.
"Would you believe me if I told you I´m a teacher here in Hawkins high school?" his comment made your eyes widen in surprise as the man nodded with a smile. "All my years of pissing off teachers are now coming back to me" he continued making you push him away as you laughed. Eddie came back next to you and continued. "But music club teacher!"
"No way!" you put your hands on your cheeks as you kept smiling. "You are what you swore to destroy!" you let out a laugh. "And the rest? Gareth? Jeff? The boys?" you asked.
"Gareth is a psychologist, can you believe it?" he asked as he held out his hands. You just nodded.
"Gareth was always a good listener" you commented to him as Eddie nodded. At last comfort between the two of you had returned.
"But he always gave shitty advices" Eddie commented causing you to let out a laugh. "I think Jeff went on with his dad's business, I haven't talked to him in years. The boys are still studying, sometimes I see them when they come to visit" you looked at him intently as he told you about the rest of your friends. Both of your eyes sparkled like they hadn't for years.
"I´m an author Eddie" you commented to him with a certain pride inside you. Eddie nodded as he looked at you with a small smile.
"I've read all your books" His comment surprised you. The man noticing your surprise continued. "Since I knew I had to go to the store and buy them. I recognized many things that you wrote in your books from those times you used to tell me your ideas" your eyes became crystalline when you listened to him, so many years and he still remembered the conversations you had in the same way you remembered those moments you spent together.
Seconds later you heard some shouting thanks to the reunions that were happening so you couldn't hear Eddie. The man pointed to the door while moving his lips, you only nodded and then followed him to a quieter place. Eddie opened the door for you letting you out into the dark night first and then following you. As he closed the door everything around you became silent giving you a chance to talk quietly.
"You know? I wanted to see you at my graduation" you commented as you turned to look at the sky, the stars were expectant of whatever was to come through this talk. Your arms folded across your chest trying to conserve the warmth that was escaping thanks to the cold Indiana nights. "I sent you an invitation and everything."
Eddie, noticing that you were cold, began to take off his jacket and then drape it over your shoulders in an attempt to shelter you. It still smelled like him, as if the years had not passed.
"I don't live in the trailer anymore" He commented gravely as he looked down at his hands, his fingers still bruised thanks to still playing the guitar. "I don't live there since Wayne died five years ago."
You turned to look at him quickly as your eyes glazed over, Eddie kept turning to face him trying to remain strong in the face of the news.
"How?" seeing that Eddie didn't answer you moved closer to him only to notice his eyes shining and his grimace trying not to break at that moment. "Oh Eddie."
The man only ducked his head as tears fell. He hadn't cried for Wayne in a long time but telling you the news - someone Wayne considered his daughter - reopened the wound Eddie thought had already healed. You reached out and hugged him, causing Eddie to lean into you, embracing the support you were giving him at that moment. In your throat you could feel a lump in your throat at the thought that Wayne was no longer with you. You would have called, you would have asked for him.
You would have gone back to Hawkins.
"I'm so sorry" you whispered making Eddie shake his head, after all it wasn't your fault, but the knowledge that Eddie had been alone these past few years completely tore you apart.
Minutes later Eddie pulled away from you to take a breath of air and then let it out, feeling better now that you were next to him. You just held one of his arms and leaned into it as a sort of half hug.
"But hey, I already have an apartment and I'm independent, let's be positive" Eddie commented trying to make you laugh, which he accomplished with ease. You had never forgotten how easy it was for Eddie to make you happy, it was like a gift he had perfected over the years. You continued to lean on Eddie thinking about the years you hadn't seen each other.
"All this time I thought you didn't go to my graduation because you hated me for what had happened" You commented loud enough so Eddie could hear it clearly. The man only turned his head away a little so he could see you, his eyebrows almost touching because of the frown on his face.
"Hate you? I would be incapable of hating you" He commented as he placed one of his hands on your shoulders to bring you as close to him as possible. Determined, Eddie took a big breath ready to confess. "I can't hate you because I love you."
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
He had finally said it, and it only took 15 years to do it.
You quickly backed away from him as you watched Eddie's face begin to droop.
"You can't do that," you finally said, anger beginning to take over your mind. "No...you can't come to...to...to tell me that you love me Eddie. Not like that" you claimed as you pointed your finger at his chest. "Not when I'm about to get married" Eddie nodded slowly, but he couldn't stay another day keeping what he felt, the news of your engagement hurt something inside Eddie in a deep way, after all he confessed his feelings too late.
But Eddie couldn´t stop there.
"I've always been in love with you (y/n)" The man in front of you confessed seriously making you let out a sarcastic smile at what was happening. You paced back and forth trying to control the fury you felt. Eddie just watched your reaction. It wasn't until a few minutes later that you stopped to put your hands on your face and wanted to scream.
Just like 10 years ago.
With speed you put your hands down and looked at Eddie angrily then approached him with large strides.
"And why didn't you tell me before? Why didn't you look for me? I always looked for you when we were kids, I always followed you when we were teenagers and just for once I wanted you to look for me. To follow me" You began to raise your voice as your breathing quickened and you walked around the man again. After years you were finally telling Eddie Munson all the questions that had lingered in your mind.
"I did" Eddie muttered as he watched you continue to talk.
"But I didn't even manage to get...what?" you turned to look at him quickly to see if you had heard correctly. The man in front of you dropped his shoulders as if he was carrying all the weight in the world, at the same time wetting his lips with his tongue preparing to finally say what he had done years ago.
"The same year you got into Columbia I went looking for you, to tell you how much I've loved you all these years" he confessed as he looked into your eyes. Thousands of thoughts were going through your mind at that moment, your throat closed and your eyes looked lost, as if you wanted to remember seeing Eddie in Columbia.
"But you never... surely you never found me, you would have said something" You answered in a desperate way, what Eddie had said fell like a bucket of cold water as you kept thinking of other possibilities as to why you hadn't seen him. The man wore a sad smile as he let out the air he was holding in.
"I always found you, every year I managed find you, it was like something was leading me to you. I would see you through the window but you never turned around" You could feel a lump forming in your throat, tears were beginning to fill your eyes and you had never wanted to cry as much as you did at that moment as you cursed yourself for not looking.
"Every year?" was all you could ask, then you bit your bottom lip trying to stop the sob that wanted to escape from you. Eddie only nodded as his eyes began to form a crystalline film over them.
"All the years you were in college I went to see you. I needed to see you, to know that you were okay, that you were happy" You closed your eyes as you heard his answer, tears rolled down your cheeks as you imagined Eddie looking for you, watching you from his car, traveling hours to just see you, but not to get close.
"Why...why didn't you talk to me? Why did you think it was a good idea not to tell me?" Your choppy breathing made it harder and harder to speak but you wanted to know. You needed to know. Eddie shook his head as he closed his eyes tightly letting small tears escape.
"I couldn't..." He took a breath of air. "Whenever I met you, you were always surrounded by people, and I don't doubt it, you always brighten the life of anyone who gets close to you. Your smile was huge as you chatted and waved your hands. I'm sure it was about something exciting, you always waved them when you told me something excited" Eddie let out a small laugh as he remembered those moments where they were both happy as children. "I couldn't risk approaching you and asking you to come back with me to Hawkins to give up your dream. I wouldn't forgive myself."
Your hands came up to your face to remove the moisture from it caused by the small droplets coming from your eyes. The ring on your finger felt heavy and wrong now that you knew the truth. Eddie likewise ran one of his hands across his cheeks, a sign of anxiety he had adopted since he was a kid.
"I would have picked you" you mumbled in embarrassment, it was like you were back in high school again remembering the times you talked to him and he made you blush. Eddie smiled through his tears
"I know."
They were both silent as they tried to compose themselves, the truth had never hurt as much as it did in those moments, which came 10 years later causing deeper pain. They had both moved on with their lives, they had accomplished things they would have loved to share with each other. But fate tends to be cruel and separate the most in love lovers that ever walked the earth just for the sake of entertainment.
Eddie was the first to be able to recover, he took his hand away from your face to see you better. Even 10 years later and with a noticeable change due to age, he could still see that little girl of 12 who brightened his afternoons, he could still see that young girl who dreamed of flying high for her dreams. Now in front of him was a woman who had achieved everything she was looking for, even finding love, even if it was not with him.
The man approached and gently moved your hands so he could see your shining eyes. Eddie smiled softly and placed his hands on your cheeks to look at you.
"Wayne would be proud of you" he murmured with a soft smile as he wiped away the tears that were still falling from your face with his thumbs. "I'm proud of you."
You just grabbed his wrists to pull his hands away from your face and moved in for a hug. After so many years you still missed hugging him, being close to him, feeling his body against yours and being able to feel his arms around you. Eddie put his head on top of yours as if he wanted to protect you from everything outside. Or maybe he wanted to hide you next to him so you could stay together longer.
"You didn't deserve an idiot like me, you deserved so much more" Eddie murmured over your head. "In another life I could have given you everything" you pulled away a little to see him as he had done.
"I wouldn't want everything. In another life I would have loved to just live in an apartment with you and listen to you play your guitar over and over and over again" You smiled as Eddie's eyes formed a crystalline layer of tears again. The man let out a ragged gasp of air then leaned in close and left a small kiss on your forehead.
"I love you (y/n)" Eddie murmured while his lips were still close to your forehead.
"I love you too Eddie" You took Eddie by his cheeks so you could look directly into his eyes. "But I'm in love with John."
Eddie nodded again, understanding who you meant. Heartbroken he reached over and gave you one last kiss on the forehead and then pulled away from you. The man put one hand behind his back and the other pointed towards the school gym doors, re-adopting the little performances he did in high school.
"After you, pretty lady" he mentioned in a deep voice making you let out a laugh, causing a spark of happiness inside Eddie's chest that he hadn't felt for 10 years. You just nodded as you put a hand on your chest continuing to play along.
"Thank you very much sir" The man put his arm in front of you for you to take and you both walked towards the rest of the party. You didn't take more than five steps when you stopped causing Eddie to stop as well. "You like people who read Stephen King, don't you?" you commented remembering the fight they had had in the coffee shop years ago. Eddie just smiled.
"No, I love them" he replied as he wrinkled his nose for a couple of seconds. The smile that appeared on your face cheered Eddie up strongly. Maybe his heart was hurting at that moment, but he knew that together with you everything was going to get better.
After all, Eddie Munson was invincible when his best friend was by his side.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why did I write it this way? Because life takes many turns, sometimes in a happy way and sometimes in a shitty way, so some love stories do not have a happy ending, sometimes because of a breakup or sometimes for fear of knowing what the other person feels, and some big changes come from small insignificant actions.
But I assure you something, some of the purest signs of love are found in friends and not in a romantic relationship.
In case you feel something for someone do not hesitate to say it, you have a 50% chance to feel the same and a 75% chance to remain friends regardless of the outcome. Take this advice from a stranger on Tumblr who regrets not telling someone she loved them in time.
Live the best you can and always look out for your happiness without hurting others, people come and go but the only person who will always be by your side is yourself so love and love yourself as you would want to be loved.
I AM ALREADY WORKING WITH LOVERS ENDING TO CURE SAD HEARTS SO EXPECT IT PEOPLE!
