Watching this image of Myles and Todd, I realized it has been 4 months since I could be that close to my friends. Where I live we must keep a distance of at least 5 feet, if you are not from the same household. And I hate it when you are not able to hug your friend when he is sad or feel a hand on your shoulder when you need it the most. I hope we beat Covid soon so we can live our lives again, inhale the music at festival, see people having fun, dance, hug and be with the people you love. Todd ‘DAMMIT’ Kerns!! Definitely on top of my list of favorite bass players. Actually he is the reason I started playing the bass guitar. Todd is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and producer. And he is extremely talented, a musical genius!! Most of you will know this in heart en soul Canadian as the bass player and backup singer in “Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators”, and as the front man of “The Age of Electric”. Todd produced 3 full solo albums. And he shared the stage with some incredible artists like Slash, Lemmy, Alice Cooper, Rick Nielsen, Duff McKagan, Adam Levine, Fergie, Bill Murray, Sammy Hagar, Michael Monroe and Sylvain Sylvain. In 2016 he joined Brent Fitz, and Cory Churko in the Canadian cover band Toque. Later Shane Gaalaas (drums) joined them. I already did a previous post about Toque, go check it out. Clint Lowery!!! Wow, what a super talented and inspiring musician. 🤘🏻🖤 Clint is best known as the lead guitarist and backing vocalist of the heavy metal band Sevendust. In 1989 he started ‘Still Rain’ along with vocalist Donnie Hamby, guitarist Troy McLawhorn, bassist Corey Lowery and drummer Bevan Davies. They produced 2 albums; Still Rain and Bitter Black Water. After Still Rain he joined ‘Sevendust’. The band was formed in 1994 by bassist Vince Hornsby, drummer Morgan Rose and guitarist John Connolly. Clint and lead vocalist Lajon Witherspoon joined the group after their first demo. In April 1997 their debut album was released; ‘Sevendust’. Sevendust produced 12 studio albums. Clint participated in 9 albums. In 2004 he left the band mid-tour to play with his brother Corey Lowery in his new band Dark New Day. In 2007 he toured for about 8 months with Korn as their live guitarist and in 2008 he rejoined Sevendust. In 2008 Clint wrote and recorded his first solo EP under the name ‘Hello Demons Meet Skeletons’. He played every instrument in the CD. Clint produced 4 EP’s under that name. He continued his solo career. In June 2019 he was in de studio, working on his official first solo album under his name with producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette. A full-length studio album God Bless the Renegades. His latest EP ‘Grief & Distance’ is dedicated to his mother who passed away in March 2020. When you start an Insta-page about great music and amazing musicians, it is impossible not to mention Saul Hudson better known as ‘Slash’. A nickname he got from his best friend’s dad, because he always was in a hurry, never had time to sit and chat. He was always sort of in passing and he just started calling him Slash. Slash’s discography is amazing!! Five studio albums with Guns N’Roses, 2 with Slash's Snakepit and 2 with Velvet Revolver. The solo discography of Slash comprises four studio albums, three live albums, two extended play (EP), single singles, and two video album. Slash has also featured on 11 singles by other artists, released ten music videos, and made contributions to numerous other releases. My personal favorite is his collaboration with Myles Kennedy, Todd Kerns, Brent Fitz and Frank Sidoris (The Conspirators). In late 2009, it was reported that they would be working together on Slash's self-titled debut solo album. Myles was chosen to sing and co-write the final song, "Starlight", on his album. Slash asked Myles to co-write and sing another song, "Back from Cali", which was added to the album at the last minute, making him the only musician to appear on more than one song on the album's standard track listing. Slash's second solo album featured Myles Kennedy, this time as the sole vocalist. Slash owns more than 100 guitars. He prefers the Gibson Les Paul, which he has called "the best all-around guitar for me." His main studio guitar is a 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard replica. Since 1997, Slash has collaborated with Gibson on seventeen signature Les Paul models—five through Gibson USA; seven through the Gibson Custom Shop; and five through the Gibson subsidiary Epiphone. But just to refresh your memory-> Mark Tremonti has proved himself one of the great rock guitarists of the last 20 years, with the songwriting talent to match. As founding member of 3 successful bands; Creed, Alter Bridge and Tremonti, he rejoices us with 14 ridiculously awesome studio albums!! In 1995 he formed Creed with lead vocalist Scott Stapp and fellow members Brain Marchall and Scott Phillips. Creed is often recognized as one of the prominent acts of the post-grunge movement that began in the mid-1990s. After Creed disbanded in 2004, Mark, Brian and Scott formed Alter Bridge, with Myles Kennedy as their lead singer. They made 6 studio albums so far. In 2008 Mark and his brother FRET12 an online musicians community, production company and record label, to release his instructional guitar documentary DVD titled Mark Tremonti: The Sound & The Story, which is the first in The Sound & The Story series of instructional DVDs. His solo band Tremonti released their first album in 2012, ‘All I was’. A more heavier- sounding thrash metal album compared to Creed or Alter Bridge.
