Hey guys...

So this post isn't going to be about music at all because I have a more pressing matter to discuss. So I'm not sure if I have discussed this with you guys before (I prob did but just don't remember lol) but I started doing these weekly blog post because of an assignment I had in my Public Speaking class where we had to make a blog at the beginning of the semester and post 2 post every week up until the end of the semester. Even though this started out as me doing it for a grade I have come to really enjoy it. This week's post are the last required post for my class so there's gonna be a few changes on how I run my blog from here on out. First of all I would like to say that I plan to continue posting things music related on this blog so I don't plan to stop just because it isn't a grade anymore. However, I will be taking a month hiatus because I really need the break with finals week being between this week and next week. With that said, I just want to thank the people who like and reblog my post because I get a sense of joy when I get a notifcation like that so thanks! But anyways that's really all I wanted to say on this post. But I will be posting again around the first of January. That said, I'll be signing off for now. Bye guys!! Very Random Music Post

Hey guys! Back again. This weeks post are gonna be a little different. So this week as you guys may know was thanksgiving! I was out of school so I went on vacation to the beach and on my first day there I went to the mall. It was really packed and crowded because it was Black Friday and the lines were long. I was able to get into the some of the stores that I wanted to go to but not all. Anyways some of you are probably wondering what this has to do with music so I’ll go ahead and get into that! Well I was in books a million because that was one of the stores that the mall had and while in there searching for books I saw the bargained book section, which are books that have very low prices, and I saw a book called the Big Book of BTS. Y’all, I just had to get that book. Who was I to deny myself of having a BTS book?! Anyways if you know me by now you know that I absolutely love Love LOVE BTS so seeing this book excited me. I read the whole thing in the car. Ok that’s all I wanted to say. Buy guys!

Thoughts on MGK AMA Award

Back again with more AMA content. For this post though I will be talking about how a friend of mine felt about the AMAs. Specifically how she felt about the award that MGK won. This friend is not new to my post. I’ve interviewed her two other times before this post about MGK since she’s such a die hard fan. But basically this is the AMA’a from her perspective:

“Machine gun Kelly won Favorite rock artist of the year award. There wasn’t a specific song but the song they played in the background was “My exs bestfreind” featuring blackbear. My reaction was me screaming at my dad saying “MGK WON AN AMA.” I was jumping for joy. He deserves this win/award because he’s been through so much. To come from somewhere small and battling addictions to now winning an AMA is amazing. Not many people can say they’ve done that. He puts sweat and literal tears into everything he does and he does it with a smile because he enjoys it. No matter what he wants the best not just for him but his friends, family and fans. He wouldn’t have gotten here without them and he will continue to get further. Hopefully he wins the Grammy he’s up for which is his first Grammy nomination!”

So with that said congratulations to Machine Gun Kelly for his big win and I wish him well on his future endeavors. And with that this wraps up this weeks post. Talk to you all next week!

The American Music Awards were today!!

As many of you may or may not know, the American Music Awards happened today. Now I personally did not get to watch it, even though I wanted to but you know school work, life, etc. easily gets in the way of being able to do stuff you wanna do. But I will be looking on YouTube for the next couple of days for videos of my favorite artist that performed or got awards at the AMAs. Although one thing I do know is that BTS won for the Favorite Kpop artist award for which I am really happy about. I’m not sure what else they won but I will be sure to find out. I’m very relieved that BTS is still winning things as well because they have been on hiatus so they haven’t been performing at any shows lately and I was scared that them not being in the public eye was going to take down some of their fame. But as always we loyal fans will always come through and vote for BTS regardless of their status. But anyways that’s really it for this post, I just wanted to talk a little bit in general about the AMAs. However next post will be about the AMAs as well but something more specific about them.

Song meaning correction to my last post. So it turns out I think I was actually on to something when I said that I originally thought Chase Atlantic was talking about cocaine when they said white lines. In the song they say (I think they say it like twice which is how I think I missed the detail in the first place) After they say “Just white lines.” there’s two parts where they say “The powder will become your new obsession.” They gotta be talking about cocaine right here, there’s no other explanation. However don’t disregard what I said in the last post about the meaning because I think that in terms of this song both interpretations are true. They’re talking about there being only white lines in a metaphorical aspect and in a lyrical aspect. That said with all this, the meaning I said that the song had remains the same.

What Does the Song Mean?

Hey guys!! I’m back again for this weeks post! This week I’ll be back with the Song Meaning post. For this post in particular I will be writing about what I think the meaning is behind the song “No Rainbows” by Chase Atlantic. Although at first when I heard it I didn’t really like the song (although this goes for most Chase Atlantic songs, what was I thinking not to like these absolute masterpieces 😨) it really grew on me and it’s a frequent player in my Spotify playlist. Also I happen to know some background information about this song that will help me have a more accurate interpretation of the meaning of this song. But anyways…let’s get into it!!

The song first starts off with the lyrics, “We don’t like to make the right decisions. Clearly, we enable our addictions.” I think this line is pretty self explanatory but what I think they are talking about here is that anyone can see that they don’t make good decisions because they have drug and alcohol addictions that they continue to enable. Common sense will tell you that enabling your addiction to anything unhealthy is not a “right” decision. After this they say something about the Fendi on their kicks getting offended. For those who don’t know Fendi is an expensive designer brand and when they say kicks I’m assuming they’re referring to shoes I’m not completely sure what this line means but I think they’re saying that the Fendi is fake?? I say that mostly because of what they say in the line right after that because they say “you get the messages. We don’t live the life that we say we do in the pictures.” Them saying this only makes me think that maybe they’re putting on an air for the public to see when they are in a whole different situation entirely. You see this a lot with famous people. They act like they are living a lavish life to the media but really they struggle like every day people. That said I think that’s what’s going on here. Now for the hook of the song they say, “There’s no rainbows, just white lines.” Now y’all I’m not gonna lie. When I first started analyzing this song I thought the white lines they were talking about was cocaine 💀💀. But I don’t think this is the case. Looking at the lyrics as a whole I don’t think that would fit really. I think when they say this they mean it as more of a metaphor. Because think about it rainbows represent a sign if hope, beauty, and good fortune. Now I might have to take you guys back to 4 grade science to understand this but to get a rainbow white light can be flashed through a clear prism. The prism bends the white light and separates it into the clear lines of the rainbow colors forming a rainbow. In terms of this song white light is being flashed through their prism but instead of getting a rainbow they’re just getting lines of white meaning there is no rainbow. I hope all this made sense 💀💀💀 but anyways I’m pretty sure that’s what they meant. Since there’s no rainbow they’re basically saying there is no sign of hope, no beauty, or good fortune happening for them. After this they talk about friends not staying close and just wasting time. I think they’re talking about their friends. None of theirs friends stayed close to them and the ones who did “stick around” are only there to waste their time maybe by influencing them to do things like make bad decisions (referencing back to the first line) because they have no interest in seeing them succeed which really isn’t even a true friend. After this there is a line about VVS being brighter than their future. When someone sings about VVS it’s normally talking about the Diamond clarity scale and they’re relating it to how their lives will shine bright like a diamond. Chase Atlantic feels the exact opposite. The diamond is shining way brighter than their future could ever be. (Erm I’m just realizing this song is kind of depressing…)

The rest of the lyrics in the song are kind of repetitive and to keep from explaining the same thing over and over again I’ll talk about the last part that’s different and what I think it means. There’s 4 lines in the song where I don’t know if they’re talking about themselves or someone else so I’m gonna go with them talking about themselves. First they say that they’re watching money fall from a distance. Them saying this makes me think that maybe they’re talking about seeing someone making money but them themselves are not making any. Then they say “quick to sell you drugs, make a business” I think this means that in order to make money they are quick to start selling drugs and make a “business” out of it. A shady business but business is business. Then they talk about how they spend all the money they make in the “business” buying designer stuff like Prada (which is really expensive btw). Because they spend all their money on expensive and frivolous things they are now broke and have no money which makes them go into debt. Debt is depressing causing them to want to die. That’s basically what the 4 lines in the song I’m talking about is saying. If you listen to the song you’ll easily which 4 I’m talking about.

I think the overall meaning of this song is that Chase Atlantic is feeling lonely because they have no friends and they are putting on airs to make it seem like life is going good but it is not. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows for them. They’re sad and depressed.

As I say in all of my song meaning post, this is just my interpretation of what the song means. I don’t think it’s 100% accurate. However I did attach the song to this post so feel free to listen and tell me what you think the song means in the comments!

Another song interview but with one of my other friends this time on a MGK song 🙄. Also this interview kind of turned into her just talking about the song and why she liked it so there’s not really any definite questions that were asked with this.

My favorite song right now is last November by Machine Gun Kelly. The meaning behind this song is November 9 2021 was the last time he spoke /saw his dad before he passed away. I like this song becaaue it shows a vulnerable side to him as an artist. His father had kicked him out when he was younger and as his dad got sick they started becoming closer again. And as they got closer he passed which was hard on MGK. “Tell me could I save your life if I pressed rewind?” This is one line that’s my favorite lyrics in the song because it makes you think if they started bonding or reuniting closer would things have changed? Would his dad still be alive or would the relationship ened on better terms.

2. What do you think the meaning behind the song is?

It’s saying that throughout life people are gonna use you for their own gain and try to shame you if you don’t want to help you, but you have to take the time to appreciate yourself and all that you need to feel happy.

3. Why do you like this song so much?

I like this song because I struggled a lot with people pleasing as a child and focused on other peoples worries while telling everyone I’m fine, eventually I learned to live and cherish myself first which is why I am happier now than I have been a majority of my life

4. What’s your favorite lyric in the song and why?

“I wanna go home and you say, "Now is not the time" and

“Pretending everything's alright is detention” because I relate to and agree with them the most.

New Album Coming Soon!

Just look at that picture. Do you know who that is? That is the one and only Park Jimin. My all time favorite kpop boy and my BTS bias. And guess what. HE IS COMING OUT WITH HIS FIRST SOLO ALBUM! AS HE SHOULDDDD. You know, I have been waiting for this for like forever. I like Jimin's solo songs but along with the rest of the BTS members I feel that they just don't have enough solo songs!! WHY IS THAT!! Each one of them is so amazingly talented and they need a chance to have their voices heard separately from a group setting I feel and I think a lot of other fans would agree. But anyways, I can not express the amount of excitement I felt when I saw the concept photos come out. And lets talk about those concept phots...MY EYES WERE BLESSED!! I attached one of them to this post as you can see and all I can say is O...M.....G HE LOOKS SO GOOD! Ahhh I love him so much. Ok I'm done with the fangirling now guys lol. But anyways I'm not really sure what to expect from this album at all because Jimin has so much versatility with his songs. However, from the concpet photos I'm thinking that we're going to get a little bit of "Lie" and "Filter" like music. That is just a wild guess though. However, all I know is that whatever he puts out I will listen to it, stream it, and love it. YOU GUYS SHOULD TO! Now there's official release date for this song but seeing how the concept photos are already out I would say we could expect it within the next month or two. The album name is Me, Myself, and Jimin. I think that's a great album name personally but maybe I'm just biased teehee. Stay tuned because I will be giving more information about it as soon as I know more. I'm going to stop rambling now because I said this week's post weren't going to be long yet I'm sitting here at 300 something words for this post and still typing so that said, bye guys!!

New Song Alert!!

Hi guys!! This weeks post are gonna be way shorter than normal because I just want to bring you guy's attention to some big things going on in the music world right now. This post is about Jin from BTS new song called the Astronaut featuring Coldplay. I don't know if you know this or not but a news letter was sent out about a week ago saying that all of BTS would be going to the military after they finished their solo projects. Jin being 30 is already pushing the age where he was supposed to have gone into the military by now. With that being said this song is the first song to be released of his solo album and I'll just say that it's really worth listening to. It's very emotional and heartfelt just like I expected from Jin. Just like most of his other solo songs he has the killer vocals that all his fans love. This song is truly special because Jin doesn't really get any solos out of all the members in the group so anytime he goes solon with something it's always a huge deal. But anyways my main point of posting this was to let you know that there is a new song out by BTS Jin and that you need to go listen and stream immediately!! Artist Highlight - Lee Tae-min

Name: Lee Tae-min

Birthday: July 18, 1993

This week's artist highlight is South Korean singer, Lee Taemin. He is one of my favorite solo korean pop artist. All his solo music is just absolutley amazing and he is an amazing dancer. He deserves all the praise he gets from his fans.

Tae-min has been an active kpop idol since 2008. He debuted with a boy group called Shinee in 2009 being the youngest member. At this time he was about 14 or 15 years old (depending on which aging system you use). In 2012 he graduated from Hanlim Multi Arts School in compliance with his kpop group promotions. When he went to college he got a degree in music and film.

In 2014, Tae-min debuted as a solo artist with a mini album titled ACE. Ace was one of my favorite kpop albums personally. Today Tae-min is in the military serving his two years of mandatory military service that South Korea has. He should be back and into the kpop swing of things and I must say that I can't wait! Unfortunately the military life hasn't been treating him very well because there was a news articles sent out not too long ago basically saying that Tae-min would finish out his service as a public worker because he was having severe mental health issues. That said, I really hope he's okay.

What Does the Song Mean?

Song Name: Who

Artist: Lauv ft. BTS

Genre: Pop

This post is going to be about my interpretation about the meaning of one of my favorite songs in my Spotify playlist titled, Who, by Lauv featuring BTS. Now I have to admit that I haven't actually listened to any of his music other than when he features BTS in his song which he has done twice so far I believe. So I ended up listening to this song because BTS was featured on it and I wanted to see what it was all about. It ended up being an amazing song and BTS vocals in it are just so amazing. Their voices are god sent. But anyways I'm rambling so lets get straight into it.

The very first thing Lauv says when he starts the song is "outlines of your eyes and visions of you" . It was kind of hard for me to determine the meaning of this but I when he sings this I think he is talking about a significant other. Images of that persons eyes are popping into his head along with visions of them. I think this person is his SO because, why else would you think of someone so much like. Why would you be having repeated visions of a person and specific features that they have if you weren't in love or falling in love with them? The he says that he needs a minute to figure things out. This made me think that he is on the outs with this person that he is talking about. If nothing was going wrong between them then he wouldn't need time to figure anything out. He also basically says that his mind is scrambled and he has a whole bunch of thoughts racing through his mind with choices to make. So whoever this girl or person is...they're really putting this man through it. Then Lauv seems to start remembering things about his relationship with this person who seems to give him mixed signals a lot. I say this because Lauv sings about how this person makes him feel crazy and that sometimes they act like they hate him.

In the next part of the song, BTS members, Jimin and Jungkook come in. I don't them coming in makes them have anything to do with the storyline Lauv is trying to get across but they're telling it for him in his point of view. They say "who are you?" Obviously they don't actually mean who is this girl because they literally don't know her. They're saying it because she's changed and she acts completely different from when the relationship started to where they are at now. I also know this to be true because they say that something has changed and that she isn't the same. And he says that she's not the girl that he fell in love with.

Because of all these reasons that were said in the song Lauv knows deep down this girl isn't the one he's going to marry and spend the rest of his life with. That makes him really sad which is why the song is sung in such a desperate tone by all the singers. Lauv then begins to express his feelings about love and how long it's taking to come to him. He says "I'm sick of waiting for love". It seems like love is something he really wants and no matter how much he tries to have it, it never works out which can be very frustrating as I can relate to him with this.

Overall, the lyrics of this song are talking about how Lauv's relationship with a girl seems to have come to a dead end because she's changed too much and he has a hard time reading her. He wanted so desperately for her to be the one but she isn't and because he has came to this conclusion he is hurt because all he wants is love.

As I say at the end of most of my Song Meaning post, this is just my interpretation of what the song means. I know that it could very well mean something else. Hello guys! So I’ve decided to do something new on my page. I will now be posting interviews I do with my friends about the songs they like! Basically they will be talking to me about a song of their choice that they like. My very first interview is one of my good friends, Kennedy Kearse, talking about a Machine Gun Kelly song. She is a big fan of him. Now let’s get into it:

Me: What song will we be talking about today?

Ken: Lonely by Machine Gun Kelly

Me: Ok! Why do you like this song?

Ken: The reason I like this song is because this song is talking about his relationship with his father growing up. It’s kind of giving his point of view of how he grew up outside of the home as a young age, and how he created a name for hisself.

Me: What’s the significance of the song?

Ken: In the song it mentions how he’s live with his dad‘s sister, which was the first home he has since his mom left him. This past year he reconnected with his mom but two years ago when he wrote this song on the album tickets to my downfall, His mom had left him at young age and a couple years after that when he was like 16-17 his dad kicked him out the house.

Me: Why do you like MGK so much?

Ken: The reason I like Machine Gun Kelly is because all of his songs corresponds to what he’s going through in his life, or what he’s already going through now he’s not afraid to hide the struggles and addictions that he’s went through and the things that he’s overcome only being like 30 something. For me listening to his music is relaxing. Never a dull moment listening to an album because every song tells a story about him. It has a deeper meaning behind it.

What Does the Song Mean?

Song Name: Dollhouse

Artist: Melanie Martinez

Genre: Indie/Pop

For this post I will be doing the meaning of one of my favorite Melanie Martinez songs called Dollhouse. Now, unlike other artist music Melanie’s music is easier to interpret because all her songs have a literal storyline. Her songs flow like a story book. They tell the story of a girl named Cry Baby and Dollhouse talks about a chapter in her life.

Dollhouse is about Crybaby’s family and her home life. From the song we know that her family is far from perfect. Her father turned her mother into an alchemist because he keeps cheating on her with other women and her brother is a chronic weed smoker. The song compares her family to dolls in a dollhouse because from the outside looking in her family has this perfect vibe but in reality that aren’t. She says that when the person playing with the dollhouse is present then the family acts perfect but when she leaves they show how they truly are. I think this is comparable to acting like the perfect family in public but being the complete opposite behind closed doors. Crybaby wishes that people could see how her family truly is because she keeps repeating over and over that no one listens to her.

I myself find this song relatable which is probably why I like it so much. Now my family isn’t full of alcoholics and cheaters lol, but they have a tendency to act completely different when in the public eye than they do at home which I don’t always understand.

What can I say. This song is heaven. Hearing this song makes me feel like I got in the bed and my pillow was cold. It makes me feel like I’m in a fast food line and I get to the window and find out the person in front of me payed for my order. You get the picture. I love love love this song so much! If I could only listen to one song for a year it would be this one. Why you may ask? It’s many things that make this song great. For one thing the beat is fun sounding and pop sounding. The beat sounds very playful (that’s the best way I can explain it lol). I like listening to the song with the music video the best. The music video is full of bright colors and the concept of the video is essentially Ateez playing pirates on a pirate ship. The song gets me hype and makes me wanna dance. It’s also very catchy. I often find myself singing the song in my head (or out loud which I get looks from my mom for lol). It’s just a great song in general, you should listen to it for yourself!

Today I will be doing a song rating on one of my favorite songs in the whole Kpop genre, Sacrifice, by Han Seung-woo. This song has been in my playlist for a year now and I still listen to it everyday. The beat of the song is so amazing especially when listening to it with headphones as I like to do often. When I listen to this song it makes me imagine someone doing a really dramatic, inspirational dance to it. If a song makes me imagine this then it’s most likely a top tier song in my book. I often find myself around the house trying to do re-enact this and I’m pretty sure I would look quite crazy to someone who was watching me from afar lol. But anyways point aside, I can listen to this song for hours and hours. The lyrics are also very deep. He’s describing someone he’s seems to be deeply attracted to. I’m all for deep romance songs. But anyways this song is top tier and it will always be.

What Does the Song Mean?

Song Name: Corspe Bride

Artist: Teenage Disaster

Genre: Alternative/Indie

For this post I will be interpreting the meaning of a song called Corpse Bride by an artist named Teenage Disaster. This song isn’t actually in my playlist but it was in one that Spotify made for me and I didn’t skip it when it came on because it caught my interest. That said I don’t really know much about the artist but I’m pretty sure I’ve listened to some songs that he’s been featured in by other artist I listen to like Lil Darkie and Afourteen.

This song describes a corpse bride in a different way than someone would normally think. It still has the same meaning but in this song it’s seems that he made “her” a corpse bride because Teenage Disaster killed her. The song begins with him saying that he’s staring at a picture of him and someone else in silence. Then he says that the person in the picture with him was so beautiful. But then there’s a major plot twist when he asks why he had to kill them. From this we can deter that whoever he is staring at in the picture with him is now dead because he killed them. Later in the song he says he can feel the persons gaze on him in the floor boards and that because of that he’s not getting any sleep. It’s like he feels guilty. But if he feels guilty why did he kill them in the first place? This leads me to believe that whatever was done was done in a moment of rage. Also the part about the floorboards could mean two different things I think: the person he killed went to hell which is why they would be below him orrrr he hid the body in the floorboard like he said. The hook of the song is that whoever he is talking about had skin cold as ice, letting us know they’re dead, and that they were dressed in white which would make them his corpse bride. At the end of the song he repeats over and over about how could he do something like that. By this you can tell that he regrets and after this he says over and over again that they’re his corpse bride.

I’m my opinion this song means something more than what he is saying in the lyrics although knowing the people in his genre of music there’s a big chance that the song means exactly what he’s saying. However I think the abstract meaning of this song is that he is talking about a romance he had with someone but because of something he did the romance ended and he is comparing that to killing the person. He wants them back but knows he can’t because he knows that he has ruined that relationship forever so therefore he’s describing them as his corpse bride because his romance with the person is dead.

This is just my interpretation of the lyrics of this song. I understand that it could actually be completely different. If you have something to add or have a different take on this song feel free to leave a comment!
