National Youth Gathering 2019 with MVLCS
The Youth of Mountain View Lutheran were blessed to be able to attend the 2019 LCMS National Youth Gathering!  We joined over 20,000 other youth and adults from around the world!  Our Youth got to hear the timeless message of the Lordship of Jesus Christ and God’s saving grace.  The Youth as well as the adults were able to grow in their personal relationship with God and in the fellowship of Word and Sacrament.  We did this in many ways:  through great Bible Studies, unique breakout sessions dealing more in depth with the issues that Young people are facing today, Mass Events that were very high energy opportunities to sing and praise God as well as hear some important truths, and through a Service Opportunity helping pack food to Feed Children in need.  The Gathering culminated in an amazing Worship service and the Breaking of the Bread in Communion with all the Saints gathered.  We remember we are Never Alone! And we are loved by our Real. Present. God! by Jeannette Burnett

What is This: “John 2: 3″?
“When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, ‘They have no wine.’ ” Behold the faith of Mary: she sees a problem and simply lays it before her Son and Lord, “They have no wine.” She does not offer a proposed solution, she does not demand, she simply states her need and waits for the Lord’s response. She trusts that the Lord is a giver, and she knows that He always provides. May such a faith be ours.

He Only Has Eyes For You
Much like fashion magazines and wedding portraits, our image is not perfect; we require airbrushing and filters to make us perfect. Through the Jesus, the miraculous filter, we, while not perfect, are truly precious in God’s sight.
Join us Sun., Jan. 6 at 8 AM and 10:30 AM for the worship, and at 9:30 AM for Sunday School and Bible studies.

What Is This: “Luke 2: 11″?
“And going into the house they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.” Worship and the giving of gifts go together. This makes sense because God is the great Giver of every good gift, and we worship Him and desire to grow into His image. We receive His gifts in worship and then, being conformed to the likeness of His image, we imitate His generosity.
