i think about where george lucas had planned to take star wars more than i should, but particularly because i am fascinated by the original idea of vader going to luke himself and asking for help atoning, which was cut and condensed into ROTJ for time constraints. and i want to write it. i really do. but the unfortunate thing is that i was of the generation of kids who watched avatar: the last airbender growing up, and all i can think about is vader testing his fucking opening lines like zuko does. the concept of HEY, LORD VADER HERE is irresistably funny

The secret Dungeon Meshi sauce that's getting people to eat better is that it's so non-judgmental. Senshi and the rest of the gang never talk about what not to eat besides things that taste bad and literal poison. They don't even talk about "health" that much besides the importance of a balanced diet. It's so much easier to eat well when you think of food simply as something your body needs, and that it's often worth the extra effort to make it taste good, especially when you understand how to connect "things your body needs" with "things that taste good"

The Double Text Posts 2/2 (Part 1)

Ok I understand that for practical reasons everyone in the ATLA universe speaks English but like, imagine how cool it would be if they didn’t? Like, Aang would have learned all of the main languages as a kid, clearly (the monks would have thought that was something the Avatar Needed to Know) but Katara and Sokka have lived in the South Pole all their lives, and would definitely only speak one language. I’m just thinking about the comedic potential of Aang, Sokka, and Katara traveling through the Earth Kingdom in season one, and Sokka and Katara literally can’t understand anything anyone’s saying; the only chance they have at communicating is a 12 year old kid who vaguely learned the main Earth Kingdom languages 112 years ago, and is doing a very bad trying to figure out each dialect. Toph would speak the local dialect where she was from, and maybe a few other “fancy” languages (the way people in our world learn french and latin) but it seems unlikely that she would learn the language of the Southern Water Tribe. I would love to see the way she and Katara and Sokka communicate. The North Pole would clearly have a language that was similar to the South Pole, but was just different enough to unsettle Katara and Sokka.  Zuko would end up learning, like, all of the languages in his search for the Avatar, and this would be such a power move later in life. Like, Fire Lord Zuko always greets everyone in their native dialect, and can evesdrop on Earth Kingdom nobles who think he can’t understand them. Also, when Zuko joins the gaang, he would be the only person besides Aang who could talk to Katara and Sokka in their native language, and even though they would have definitely picked up other languages by that point, I feel like it would still be really special to them, to have another person to talk to in the language of the South Pole? 

Anyways yeah I know it wouldn’t work in the show for practical reasons, but. Avatar universe languages.

One of my favorite moments in the finale is Sokka using his pristine acting skills to announce to the whole airship that they will be celebrating a birthday during one of the most important missions in fire nation history, and then everyone on the crew collecting in the drop chamber like they were asked and acting like it's the most normal thing ever because apparently it's common to have birthday parties on fire nation war vessels during extermination missions.

i would be a kittypet all the way in the warrior cats universe. if i heard a bunch of guys were in the woods killing each other for survival and they think i'm the lame one for getting mediocre banquets i would be like you guys are stupidd and then when the thunderclan medicine cat comes by my fenced lot to pick yarrow i would be like what are doing and shes like medicine so my clanmates don't die and i'm like wow you guys really have it that rough. and she keeps encountering me and one day i'm like why don't you come inside there's plenty of kibble and she averts her eyes shyly and is like ...no that would be against starclan and i'd go To have a little kibble? and she's like You know what i mean. and i do. 5 moons later she is getting adopted by my people and visions of her ancestors still haunt her and she is from time to time like Did I do the right thing...? how could i be so selfish...? and i'm like my toy mouse squeaks

Idiots in love in the Fire Nation + family bonding time, kind of a follow up to this

Sokka is awkwardly saying “you… fight good.” And Zuko is answering “uh, ok.”

In the second drawing Sokka, Ty-Lee, and Zuko are drawn from the waist-up. She is in the middle, smiling widely, and has her arms thrown around Sokka and Zuko. Ty-Lee is wearing pink clothes with a floral pattern, and a wide golden collar ornated with pink gems. She has her hair in a long braid that falls over her shoulder. At her right Sokka is smiling with a confused expression and leaning into her side. He’s wearing a loose sleeveless red tunic, and a dark red scarf around his waist embroidered with traditional blue water tribe patterns. He has a dark blue tattoo around his right bicep, and is wearing two golden band bracelets on his forearms, his hair are tied back with a red ribbon. At Ty-Lee’s left Zuko is standing stiffly, face-palming and looking annoyed. He’s wearing dark red clothes with golden embroidery, and has his hair tied up in a top knot. Ty-Lee is looking at Zuko and saying cheerfully “You know, your auras are very compatible, so fruity!”. Sokka is looking at Ty-Lee and saying “Oh, sure?”, and Zuko is saying “Fuck’s sake.”

In the third drawing there are Mai and Sokka standing next to each other, drawn from the waist up. Mai is wearing an elaborate dark maroon hanfu with red patterns, the sleeves and the collar of her clothes have a white lining with black and gold embroidery. She’s wearing black fingerless gloves that have darts around the wrists. Her hair are tied back in a low bun and kept in place with two silver pins, her lips are painted dark red, and she has two little red dots painted under her eyes. She’s holding Sokka’s boomerang in both hands, looking at it appraisingly. Next to her Sokka is wearing a deep red tunic with short sleeves, a bright red sash tied around the waist, and an ornate red collar that covers his chest and shoulders. His hair are in a top knot tied with a red ribbon. He’s holding six of Mai’s knives between his fingers, and is looking at them with a very focused expression, his tongue is poking out of his lips. Both of them are saying “sharp, I like it.” In the right side of the same image there is another drawing of Sokka, drawn by profile from the waist-up. He has his hair down and is wearing the same clothes he had in the second drawing. He has his arms raised, and is holding Zuko’s dragon Druk, which is orange-red with a yellow mane and dark red horns, and is still very small. Sokka is making kissy faces at the dragon and saying “who’s my little fire noodle?”, there are a lot of little red hearts surrounding them.

In the fourth image there are Sokka and Azula, drawn by profile and facing each other from the opposite sides of a pai-sho board. Sokka’s outfit is the same that he was wearing in the drawing with Mai, while Azula is wearing a long sleeved red tunic with dark red shoulder pieces, her hair are cut in a bob, and partially tied up in a top knot. She has her arms crossed and is looking at Sokka, while Sokka is holding his chin with one hand and is looking pensively at the board. /END ID]

i wish every jgy opinion that talks about him defending or being overly wrapped up in or obsessed with his image or his position or his power just took the extra two seconds to replace 'image' or 'position' or 'power' with 'life' because those things are inextricable actually. like. he's not going to survive disgrace. he'll be killed for sure. framing it as anything else is really disingenuous.

One thing I love about Kim Dokja is that his immediate response to Yoo Sangah being friendly to him on the subway is to assess her as 'objectively attractive - but I'm inherently inhuman so idc about that' and moving on as if that's a reasonable thing to say. Normalest coworker on the planettt
