Do anyone else ever think about pre-Paradis Gabi inheriting Reiner's memories?

Like imagine you have this cousin and he's a national hero and your family's pride and joy and you've looked up to him your entire life and tried to be like him and gone down the same path he did because he obviously has life figured out. And he comes back from deployment and he's older and quieter and a little unstable, but he's still a hero and he tells you that what you're training for is righteous but he seems sad when he says it. And finally the day comes that you get to take his place (You can't be sad, that's not allowed. He's fulfilled his purpose and now it's your turn) ...and finally you see him.

You see him be betrayed (over and over). You see his doubts turn into hesitation turn into horror turn into his mind breaking into two. You see him love your enemies and kill them while calling them friends. You see him lose one warrior after another and try over and over to fix it but he's so unstable he can't even remember the problem anymore. You see him come home alone and defeated. He is hailed as a hero in public and blamed for losing an entire war in private. You see him lie to your entire family about the last four years and you see him watch with horror as you train to take his place. You see him try to kill himself. You see and feel him die. You killed him. And everyone says, "congratulations."

While I am on the subject of Gabi, I gotta add on the fact that so many people miss a crucial aspect of the propaganda she was facing. It wasn’t just “these people are evil,” it was “these people are evil and you are one of them so unless you do everything I say, you are evil too”

Honestly feels a lot like things often heard in church (being told you will burn in hell and be evil forever unless you follow very specific strict rules) which often have a very traumatic effect on young children (which Gabi IS a young child)

Zeke’s the only one in the family to resemble his mother and so he’s the only one who resembles Ymir Fritz and Marley uses Zeke’s spinal fluid and his screams–very invasive parts of his body–for Titan creation just the same way the Eldians used Ymir Fritz’s body for the Founding Titan and to (read: rape) give birth to children for the King far far too young three times and both of them brought Titans into the world and both of them were thought of as gods and yet despite the fact that both of them were so physically strong in the end it was pointless because both of them were used and discarded and both of them were devoted to the people who ruined their lives before their lives even began and neither of them could escape their fates.
