Day 1 |Masterlist| Coming Soon!
Rating: T+
Pairing: Frankie ‘Catfish’ Morales x Reader
Words: 1270
Warnings: Mention of a fear of getting hurt while skating, but other than that, nothing but fluff!
Notes: Well, thanks to a friend, who knows who she is, I have A LOT of new readers! Welcome and thank you as always for reading. It means the world to me to have people enjoy this little world that’s been in my head for a while. ❤  Any mistakes are all my own as this is not beta read and I know absolutely no Spanish.
This is set about a year after the reader and Frankie had moved in together. So it’s before the babies and after The Road-Trip. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did while writing it!
Additional Word Prompt:  “I’m going to fall on my ass.”
~*~
“I’m going to fall on my ass.”
Frankie chuckled at you, gripping your hands tighter as he pulled you with him out onto the frozen lake. “I’m not going to let you fall on your ass,” he said, voice shaking with laughter.
You narrowed your eyes at him but that didn’t last long before you felt a leg going out from under you. But true to his word, Frankie didn’t let you fall.
“Come on, hermosa.” And of course the bastard winked at you. He was skating backward, seriously showing off compared to your newborn deer impression. You knew deep down he hadn’t believed you when you’d told him you’d never been ice skating, because how could you have gone this long in life without ever going? But now you were starting to suspect that he did.
Try as you might, though, you just couldn’t shake the tension or the irrational fear that you were going to fall and cut either Frankie or you with the blades on your feet. “Frankie…”’
His eyes softened at the fear he could hear in your voice and slid to a stop so he could wrap an arm around you, pulling you to him. “You’ve got to relax, hermosa,” he said gently. “I’m not going to let anything happen to you.” He said it with so much confidence you almost believed him.
He leaned in brushing his cold nose against yours before pressing your lips together. Your grip on his scarf tightened as you deepened the kiss. It was the kind of kiss that warmed you from the inside out and made you fall for the man even more.
It was times like this that you couldn’t help but think you could spend the rest of your life with this man. You’d already moved in with him, and that had been going great. Over the last year he’d really taken the time to gently pull you out of your comfort zone more and more, like this trip for instance. Sure, a winter vacation was something that other people did all the time, but you’d just never done it, which had surprised him almost as much as you having never ice skated in your life. You’d honestly just never had the urge to go somewhere cold on purpose, but right now you were definitely starting to see the appeal.
He broke the kiss with a groan and pressed his forehead to yours. You could see both of your breaths as you fought to catch them, which was a testament at just how cold it was outside. “Fuck, I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of that,” he breathed.
“Good,” you said, chuckling as he pulled back to meet your eyes.
He placed your other hand on his shoulder and gripped his glove with his teeth to take it off without letting go of you before slipping it into his pocket. Then he used his bare knuckles to brush your cheek. His smile softened as you leaned into his touch, his caress warming up your cold cheek.
He used your distraction and slowly started skating backwards again and it took you more than a few seconds to realize it. But once you did, all the relaxation he’d just managed to get out of you disappeared in an instant and you tensed up all over again. Which did nothing for yours or Frankie’s balance.
This time though, when he tried to keep you both upright, your feet had somehow ended up tangled together and the two of you went crashing to the ice. He had tried hard to keep it from happening, you had to give him that, but once he realized it was inevitable he twisted enough to be the one to fall on his back with you on top of him.
“Oh, fuck,” he groaned this time for a completely different reason but that turned into a laugh when he saw the look on your face. “Are you okay, mi sol?”
You still had one hell of a grip on him but you managed a nod. You were sure your newborn deer impression had turned into a deer in headlights instead, which was probably the reason he was laughing at you. You’d probably be laughing too if you hadn't been so damn terrified.
He lifted his head, looking around the frozen lake and then back at you before dropping it back down to the ice. “I’m never gonna get you back out here, am I?” He asked, still chuckling as he cupped your cheek again, caressing it with this thumb.
“Probably not,” you blurted out with a shake of your head, causing Frankie to laugh even harder and once that happened it was hard not to join in. You pushed at his chest, trying to be serious but finding that harder and harder to do. “Are you okay?”
“Other than my bruised ego, I’ll be just fine, hermosa.” He shook his head, looking around again and you could only imagine he was attempting to figure out the best, and safest, way to get you all up and back onto solid land.
“It’s not that far,” you said, following his line of sight and nodded, “I’ll just crawl.” “Don’t be so dramatic, hermosa,” he huffed playfully. “No, really, it’s safer that way,” you argued, patting his chest and rolling off of him carefully.
You had just started to crawl when you heard him groan behind you and you assumed it was him getting to his feet. But the next thing you knew he was picking you up just enough that your feet didn’t touch the ice until he was putting you down in the snow at the edge of the lake. “There,” he said with a laugh. “Safe and sound.”
“I could have done it, you know,” you grumbled, glaring, with absolutely no heat behind it, over your shoulder.
“Yeah,” he agreed. “And by the time you got there, the hot chocolate would have been cold.” You raised an eyebrow at him. “You’ve had hot chocolate this whole time?”
He winked at you before wrapping an arm around your waist to help you over to the bench where you’d dropped all your stuff. He grabbed up the canister, one you somehow hadn’t seen him bring with him, and poured you a steaming cup.
You let the cup warm your hands for a moment before taking a sip. How he’d managed to sneak it over without you seeing him you didn’t know, but you were grateful nonetheless.
You smiled up at him and held out the cup which he took, but not before he kissed you. “I love you, mi sol,” he breathed against your lips.
You smiled against his lips, cupping his cheeks with your now warm hands keeping him there just a moment longer. You nodded, just soaking up the sweet moment now that you were back on solid ground. “Love you too, baby.”
He helped you out of your skates and back into your boots before you all packed up to head back to the cabin. You had just started to head up the hill when a hand on your wrist stopped you.
You looked back at Frankie curiously and without a word he pulled you to him. “I think it’s about time we put that fireplace to good use. What do you say, hermosa?”
You glanced over your shoulder, biting your lip as you looked at the cabin, dozens of ideas running through your head. When you met his eyes again you knew yours were just as heated as his. “Oh, hell yeah.”

Day 1 - Baking || Vanilla, sprinkles, and chocolate flavored kisses.
Tumblr media
|| Masterlist ||
Rating: T+
Pairing: Frankie ‘Catfish’ Morales x Reader
Words: 1317
Warnings: Mainly fluff, but brief mentions of previous animal abuse and animal death- nothing in depth just giving a backstory to the why and how you’re getting new faces to meet. (Pictures of the new boys will be at the end)
Notes: So, apparently all it took was a writing challenge to get me back into the swing of things. I’d missed these two (now four) a lot so it feels good to be back! I can’t promise I’ll do every prompt and some might even have more than one prompt mashed together, but each one I’ll let you know. Also, these will probably be bouncing between pre-road-trip and after. This one is set after the last bonus chapter by almost two years or so.
Any mistakes are all my own as this is not beta read and I know absolutely no Spanish. And as always, thank you for taking the time to read this, it means the world to me to be able to share this with all of you! Happy Holidays, everyone! ❤
Additional Word Prompt:  “Oh, shit! The cookies!”
~*~
You weren’t sure what exactly you were expecting when you walked through the door after the last shift before your Christmas vacation started… but it surely wasn’t a flour covered toddler waiting patiently just inside -and by patiently you meant he was wiggling just as much as the dog beside him.
“Mama!” Nicky exclaimed, beaming up at you, arms raised in the air for you to pick him up.
“Hey, baby,” you said, scooping him up with one arm while your other hand patted Vinny on the head. You just knew you’d be dealing with an interesting load of laundry later if the state of Nicky’s clothes were any sort of indication how their afternoon had gone. “Where’s your daddy?”
Nicky pointed in the direction of the kitchen as you brushed some flour out of his hair. Just as you were about to round the corner to see just what Frankie and your kids had done to your poor kitchen, the man in question came into view smiling at you like he too wasn’t covered in flour, Ozzy following obediently behind him.
“You’re home early, hermosa,” he said in greeting. When Nicky reached for him he scooped him out of your arms and hung him over his shoulder causing the toddler to burst into a fit of giggles. Which of course melted whatever frustration might have been building in the sight of the mess you knew was just around the corner. It had been a truly shitty day and the last thing you had wanted to do was to have to come home to clean.
“You good, mi sol?” he asked, pulling you into his flour covered embrace for a kiss that surprisingly tasted like chocolate. When he pulled back you started brushing what he had on his face, nodding. “I am now,” you whispered against his lips before asking, “do I even want to know?” and gave him a pointed look, because while the man looked like a hot mess he tasted amazing.
“Probably not,” he responded easily, shrugging, “but there is a surprise waiting for you in the kitchen.” He pulled you close again, pressing his lips to your forehead, like he knew you needed it. Needed him. And in that moment, you did.
You pulled away just enough to narrow your eyes at him, but he only tipped his head toward the kitchen.
As you rounded the corner, you couldn’t help but smile. Not only was there absolutely no mess on anything except the two people standing in front of you, but one of those people was Santiago Garcia.
“Mom!” Ava said, looking quite proud of herself as she bounded over to you for a quick hug.
“Hi, my love,” you said, squeezing her back before Santiago swooped in for his own hug.
“Hermosa,” he said in greeting, hugging you to him so he could whisper in your ear. You hugged him back tightly and smiled as he told you again you were still too beautiful for Frankie.
It had been a few months since he’d stayed with you all because he’d ended up having to have a few surgeries on his knees. You and Frankie had insisted he stayed with you all while he recovered. He’d put up a hell of a fight, but in the end he caved when Ava begged him to stay. To your surprise, he had been a horrible patient. Grouchy, uncooperative, you name it. But you could tell he was thankful he didn’t have to be alone, even if it was hard for him to express with words.
You leaned back wiping at his face with a smile as Frankie huffed playfully behind you. “You really need to stop trying to steal my woman, Garcia.”
Pope gave you a wink that Frankie couldn’t see and said, “I think if she hasn’t left you by now, you’re golden, Morales.”
You shook your head at the two of them and turned out of Pope’s arms to give a proper greeting to the new additions to your family. Ozzy, Styx, and Vinny were the three new dogs in the house.
It had been about a year ago when you’d lost Flex and then Marvin a few months after that. It had been hard on all of you, especially the kids, and while you didn’t want to jump right into having another pet, let alone three, it just kind of happened.
Ozzy was the first dog you’d met and he had been the most skittish, having been found living on the streets for who knows how long. But he and Styx, the dog they’d brought out with Ozzy, had had a bond from the time he’d gotten there. After seeing them play together, you knew you couldn’t take one and leave the other, it would have just been cruel. Styx hadn’t had much of an easy life either, though, having to have one of his front legs amputated after having been shot. And then there was Vinny, who had also been found as a stray. He had reminded you so much of Flex it had been hard to walk away from him. And then he’d gently grabbed your pants leg and gave you those eyes like he was begging you not to leave him, you just couldn’t say no.
You were told later the grabbing had been an anxiety response but he’d been so gentle about it you really didn’t think you’d have to worry about him being with the kids and you ended up being right. Hell, that dog was better at keeping Nicky out of trouble more than anyone.
It hadn’t been easy, especially with three of them, but after taking them all to a dog trainer for a few months, things were finally settling down and were getting into a routine. It helped that Frankie had taken a job where he was home more often and that the dogs all got along. You’d found the three of them snuggling up with each other more than once, and had more than a dozen pictures on your phone to prove it.
While you were getting in your rubs, kisses, and love from your boys you looked around the kitchen. “Anyone want to explain to me why you’re all covered in flour?”
“Uncle Pope did it,” Ava said, smirking over at him as he mumbled “traitor” under his breath. “When he turned the mixer on it was on high and stuff just started flying everywhere. And when daddy heard the shouting he’d come in running with Nicky and well…” she trailed off looking at the two and shrugged. “But he couldn’t figure out how to turn it off and stuff was still flying and…” “It took Ava unplugging it to get it to stop,” Frankie said, cutting her off when she started to ramble while trying not to giggle.
You had to press your lips together to keep yourself from laughing out loud because you could only imagine the absolute chaos that had been going on at that moment. But that only worked for so long and then all five of you were laughing at the ridiculousness of it all.
“Well, did you guys actually get anything made?” You asked after everyone had settled, causing Ava to brighten and run over to the fridge.
She pulled out a chocolate cupcake with vanilla icing that was covered in sprinkles and held it out to you. Which explained why Frankie had tasted like chocolate. They looked good. Like, really good.  And to your surprise they tasted even better.
“These are really good, you guys,” you said after a bite, causing smiles to break out over all their faces. Before you could take your second bite you smelled something a bit off. “Is something burning?”
“Oh, shit! The cookies!” Frankie exclaimed, passing Nicky off to you as he rushed to the stove.
“Thit!”
“Dammit, Frankie!”

Words: 1380
Warnings: A little angst but mainly fluff...
Notes: This was a long time coming but after a few forced paragraphs I finally got the push I needed from one of the sweetest people I know on this site. I can’t thank you enough, @yespolkadotkitty! ❤ All mistakes are mine. And if you’re interested, here’s the song that inspired me: *click me*
~*~
You slowly opened your eyes when your hand met the cool sheets on the other side of the bed. The side that Frankie, Ava, or both, normally slept on was completely empty. You’d known your husband was going through a hard time for the last two weeks. After being laid off Frankie had hit a low that you had never seen, and instead of talking to you about it like you both always had done, he internalized and carried on like nothing was wrong…Until he thought no one was watching.
He’d really started to worry you when what was supposed to be a quick trip to the store turned into two hours. When it happened a third time, it had caused more than one whispered argument between the two of you locked away in the laundry room, away from your curious daughter. It wasn’t that you didn’t trust Frankie, you did with your whole heart, you were just scared that he’d turned back to drugs because he’d turned away from you. You hated that that’s where your imagination jumped to, but when he stopped confiding in you, you feared the worst.
When you finally got the courage to bring that up to him, you were surprised that he wasn’t angry at the accusations. He’s just pulled you to him and buried his face in your neck as he whispered out apology after apology.
“Hermosa, I’m so fucking sorry you thought I… baby I would never. I would never do that to you or the kids,” he’d whispered. “Please believe me. I never want to be that man again.”
The two of you had clung to each other until there was a quiet knock on the door and a little muffled voice asking what you guys were doing in there. You broke away from him teary eyed and watched him wipe away his own tears as you cleared your throat so you could answer your daughter.
A rustling sound from the baby monitor brought you back to the present and you rolled over, and waited quietly in case the movement meant Nicolás was waking up. When nothing else came through the monitor, you got out of bed, putting on your robe as you walked across the hall to check on the baby. If Frankie wasn’t there, you’d check Ava’s room to see if maybe he was with her.
When you reached the hall you heard soft music playing downstairs. You peaked into Nicolás’ room to make sure he was okay, which he was, but then curiosity won and you headed downstairs. You stopped short at the bottom stair at the sight in front of you, your heart melting as you took it all in. In the open space in your living room were Frankie and Ava, with Flex and Marvin on their respective couch and chair watching the two. Frankie was holding Ava close, with her little arms wrapped around his neck and her head laying on his shoulder as he swayed back and forth to the beat of the music.
You were about to turn and go back upstairs, not wanting to intrude on this beautiful moment between father and daughter, but then he noticed you. Your eyes met and a slow smile spread across his face.
He mouthed ‘bad dream’ and you nodded before padding over to them. When he could reach you he cupped the back of your neck and pulled you close enough so he could press his lips to yours. As he broke the kiss he dropped his hand to your lower back and held you to him, bringing you into the slow dance with them.
You wrapped one arm around his back as you laid your head on his free shoulder, your other hand went to Ava’s back. You stayed like that, even when the song came to a close and another came on. But when you heard the lyrics you held onto Frankie a little tighter. In his raspy voice, Ray Lamontagne started singing about how hard life can get and how it feels like you can’t do anything right, and right then you knew that was exactly how Frankie had been feeling.
You lifted your head and met Frankie’s eyes, and your heart broke at the pain in his eyes. You cupped his cheek, bringing your foreheads together and nodded against him. “I know, baby. It’s going to be okay,” you assured him in a whisper. “I promise.”
He nodded against you, eyes closed as his grip on you tightened. It hurt you to see how hard he was fighting to believe that. You wanted to fix it, you just didn’t know how other than to just be there for him until he found something else.
When Ava shifted you realized just how close you’d gotten to squishing her and took a slight step back. Frankie seemed to realize it too and smiled at you. “I’m just gonna…” He trailed off and tilted his head in the direction of the stairs. You nodded and with a kiss to your forehead he took Ava up to her room, Flex and Marvin following behind him slowly.
It didn’t take long for him to join you back downstairs once he realized you hadn’t followed him up to bed. He gave you a wink as he placed the baby monitor on the coffee table and then sat beside you. You turned to face him and placed your legs over his as his arm curled around you. The two of you didn’t say anything for a few minutes, just soaking up each other in the moment of quiet that was quite the rare occasion in your home.
“Just say it, hermosa,” Frankie finally said quietly, breaking the silence.
You took another moment, searching his eyes before you reached out to cup his scruffy cheek. “I meant what I said before. It is going to be okay. And maybe we could look at this like a blessing,” you started, holding out a hand when he gave you a look like you were losing it. “Baby, you get to spend all this time with the kids now and not have to power through it because you just got done working a double but you still want to play with them before you crash, only to do it all over again the next day.” You took a quick breath and continued. “We’ve got enough saved now that you don’t have to rush into something you don’t want to do and even if we have to dip into the kids…”
“I’ll have another job before then,” Frankie interrupted. “And I know it’s going to be okay, it’s just… a huge blow to my ego.” He shrugged a little, but leaned into your hand.
“I’m sorry you felt like you couldn’t come to me,” you whispered, scooting closer to him. “I never meant…”
“It wasn’t you, mi sol, it was me. All me.” He lifted his free hand, curling it around your neck to bring your foreheads together. “I’m sorry, I made you feel like I was cutting you out. It had just been a long time since I’d felt that low, but I don’t ever want to make you feel like that.”
You nodded against him, scratching at the scruff on his cheek. “I know, baby, and we’re okay. As long as we keep talking, we’re okay.” You leaned in a little more to press your lips to his but just as they made contact a little whimper came through the baby monitor.
Your laugh effectively broke the already short kiss and then you met each other's eyes. “I’ll get him, he’s probably hungry anyway,” you said, carefully extracting yourself from him. Once you were standing you leaned over and pressed a kiss to his forehead but before you could pull away he was gripping your hand.
“I’ll get him,” Frankie argued quietly. “You go lay down and I’ll bring him to bed with us.”
“Yeah?” You asked hopefully.
“Yeah, mi sol, I think more time with my favorite people tonight is exactly what I need.” He reached around you grabbing the baby monitor and handed it to you then turned off the stereo. “Come on, hermosa, let’s go get our boy.”

Bonus Scene - Valentine’s Day
Word Count: 2,481
Warnings: Unprotected sex, pregnancy, mentions of birth/water breaking (I only have fur babies so any mistakes are my own!)
Notes: So, this was supposed to be put out on Valentine’s Day but things got crazy and overwhelming and well, life happened. But this morning was the first time in a month that I’ve actually been able to write and I took it and ran with it and actually finished! I hope you all like it! I’m also posting this on my phone so if the format is wonky, I’ll fix it once I get home.
~*~
It was Valentine’s Day weekend and your mom had offered to let Ava and the boys stay with her so you and Frankie could have one last weekend alone before the baby came. You were almost embarrassed with how quickly you jumped at the chance, but you knew this was going to be the last time for a while, so the embarrassment faded pretty quick.
The moment Frankie had found out, he’d set up the morning for you at a local spa to have a massage and be pampered from the top of your head right down to your toes. You’d had your hair done, a manicure, a pedicure, and they’d even done your makeup. After feeling pretty miserable and undesirable for the last couple of months, you couldn’t find the words to express how relaxed and loved you felt knowing he’d thought of everything, right down to the dress they’d handed you to change into. It accentuated your bump and was more comfortable than anything had been in a long time. When you looked in the long mirror on the wall before you left you could admit that you looked good, and not only that but felt good as well.
When you came out of the spa you were surprised to see Frankie there, leaning against the front of the SUV. You had been expecting your friend Jen to pick you up because Frankie was supposed to be at work until this afternoon, but apparently the two of them had been plotting behind your back, not that you minded in the slightest. You smiled at him as you got closer and felt yourself blush when he looked you up and down, his own smile growing when he finally met your eyes.
“Damn, you’re beautiful, mi sol,” he breathed as you got close enough to take his hand. He spun you in a slow circle and then pulled you the last few steps to him before continuing, “absolutely stunning.” One hand went to the side of your belly while the other cupped the back of your neck to pull you in those last few inches for a chaste kiss. “How was this morning?” he asked against your lips.
You slowly blinked your eyes open when he pulled back. “Perfect,” you said softly. “I think I might have fallen asleep a few times.” Your smile turned playful as you looked up at him. “Lydia even gave you a run for your money with the foot massage during the pedicure.”
He narrowed his eyes playfully but that faded away the moment you pulled him down to you to press your lips to his. “Thank you,” you breathed, your lips brushing his as you spoke. “This was exactly what I needed.” And it was. After the last few weeks of nesting and cooking, which drove you and Frankie crazy, and Braxton Hicks contractions, which worried Frankie to the point of almost madness, this morning had given you the break you needed.
Frankie cupped your cheeks and tilted your head up. “Let’s go get some lunch. What are you in the mood for?” he asked and immediately you saw the regret on his face. After the last eight and a half months, the man absolutely knew better than to ask that question.
You raised an eyebrow at him with a chuckle at the look on his face. “Maybe you should just surprise me,” you suggested instead of listing off all the places he could stop at along the way back home.
He shook his head at himself and pressed a kiss to the tip of your nose. “Probably for the best,” he conceded.
~*~
The two of you had lunch at your favorite little diner in town and then had gone for a walk down to the ice cream shop to get a shake for desert. Your back had started to ache, so the two of you sat outside of the shop so you could rest before you headed back to the SUV. You had to wave off his worry and promised him it was just how much you’d walked around today.
You both decided to make this day about yourselves, putting the worry of what else needed to be done aside. It had been a long time since you two had done that and it felt absolutely freeing. So when Frankie leaned over to whisper how much he wanted you while casually resting his hand on your bare knee as he nipped at your earlobe, you couldn’t help your shudder or the way you reached out to grab his leg to steady yourself. You knew where this was coming from. It had been at least three weeks since you’d had even just a moment alone and that was three weeks too long.
You licked your lips, placing what was left of the shake down on the table and met his eyes and you could see every ounce of wanting that you were feeling being reflected back to you. You didn’t know where it had come from because you hadn’t been comfortable or even feeling anywhere close to desirable lately, but you wanted him. Now. “Take me home, Frankie,” was all you managed, your grip on his leg tightening in your attempt to control yourself.
Frankie wasted no time as he gathered up the shakes to toss them in the trash before coming back to help you stand. The walk back to the SUV was full of anticipation, even though it took you a little longer to get there than you would have liked. Especially when he kept leaning over to whisper all the things he wanted to do to you when you got you alone. It was torture but you made it to the car without shoving him into an alley to have your way with him, so you considered it a win.
But the moment he got you both onto the road that would lead you home, he made up for his teasing. Dear God did he ever. You gasped as one of his hands slid up your thigh to between your legs to brush his fingers gently against the fabric over your clit. You moaned embarrassingly loud at the barely there contact and one of your hands slapped against his arm, gripping it to keep his hand right where it was, while the other found purchase on the side of the seat, squeezing it hard. You vaguely heard him chuckle but it had been too long and you were too worked up to care about the way you were reacting or the noises you were making as he started rubbing you teasingly slow.
When you finally gathered the strength to turn your head to look at him, you saw the smile on his face before your eyes dropped down to the bulge in his jeans. You attempted to reach for it but Frankie took his hand out from between your legs to grab your wrist and placed your hand back against the seat. “Not yet, hermosa,” he said, his hand slipping back between your legs, and this time his fingers pushed aside your underwear. You did your best to open your legs in the confines of the vehicle to give him more room so he could touch you properly. When he slipped his fingers inside of you, you cried out and threw your head back against the headrest.
You whimpered his name as he started to move his fingers inside of you, all while the palm of his hand rubbed against your clit. You gripped his arm, nails digging into the skin as he brought you closer and closer to release. You did your best to move with him, not giving a damn about the ache in your back, but it was difficult even with using the seatbelt as leverage. But you were right there and…
“Oh God, Frankie!” Was all you got out before you shattered around his fingers as he touched you just the right way. You gasped as he continued moving, helping prolong your orgasm and when you couldn’t take anymore you weakly pushed his hand away, as you fought to catch your breath.
“Damn, you’re beautiful when you cum, hermosa,” he said, and you could hear the smile in his voice before you even looked at him. And when you did, you watched him suck his fingers into his mouth with a low growl at the taste of you, causing another shudder to run through your body.
He jerked in surprise when you made contact with his thigh. “Let me take care of you, baby,” you whispered, running your fingers down the length of his cock. But before you could do anymore, he gripped your wrist stopping you with a shake of his head. He made quick eye contact with you before he looked back to the road. “Not yet, mi sol,” was all he said, repeating himself from earlier, and you could hear how tense his voice was, like he was doing everything in his power to hold back.
You realized why he’d stopped you the moment you felt the SUV slow down and when you looked up you saw he was pulling into your driveway. You laughed when he pulled right up next to your car, quickly putting it into park, only slowing down long enough to press a kiss to the back of your hand before he was out the door and helping you down from your seat.
He only gave you a moment to steady yourself before your back was pressed up against the side of the SUV and his lips were on yours. You moaned into the kiss tangling your fingers into his hair, trying to pull him closer. You needed him closer. Fuck, you needed him.
He grunted, breaking off the kiss and met your eyes, a silent conversation playing out between the two of you in that brief moment. Inside. You needed to get inside five minutes ago. And then he was fighting with the lock, attempting to get his key into it as you slipped your hands under his shirt, needing more contact as you pressed your lips to his shoulder, not able to stop touching him for even a second until he finally got it open.
As soon as he shut the door, you turned and pressed him up against it with a hand on his chest. You smiled up at him when he tilted your head up with two fingers before curling his hand around the back of your neck and brought his lips to yours. He nipped at the bottom one before sucking it into his mouth and then he was kissing you again.
You wrapped your arms around his neck as his hands roamed down your back, his fingers digging into the lower part of it, easing the ache that you hadn’t noticed until then. You broke the kiss off with a moan but that didn’t stop Frankie. He kissed down your cheek to your neck, nipping and mouthing at all the sensitive places he knew of, each one driving you more and more crazy.
His hands disappeared for just a few moments and then the next thing you knew it was you pressed against the door with Frankie behind you. You gasped as you felt him pull down your underwear and then he was helping you step out of them. You heard his zipper just a moment before you felt the head of his cock brush against your core.
You dropped your forehead to the door, your hands fisting as you pushed your ass out towards him. “Please, baby,” you begged, not caring at how needy you sounded. And you didn’t even care that you whimpered the moment he pushed inside of you.
His arm came around you, crossing across your chest, holding you to him as he started to move. It started off slow, but that didn’t last for long. The hand that wasn’t holding you to him covered yours on the door as he picked up speed. “Fuck,” he groaned out, burying his face into your neck and snapped his hips before continuing, “N-Needed this, needed you…”
You moaned out what you hoped sounded like an agreement. It was all you were capable of right then. Everything felt so perfect, so incredibly right. The way he was touching you, how hard he was fucking you, it all set off every nerve ending in your body and all you could feel was pleasure. That and the building of your orgasm.
“Frankie…” you warned, threading your fingers through his as your breathing picked up. You felt him nod against your shoulder as he thrusted faster, his own sounds spurring you closer to the edge.
“F-fuck, fuck, fuck,” he growled, hips stuttering as he gripped you tight.
You felt him tense behind you moments before you felt his cock jerk inside of you. His growl and the feel of him losing it before you was all it took. You cried out, back arching as you pulsed around him.
You were both panting, trying to catch your breath as you came down from the high of the best orgasm you’d had in what felt like months. Frankie loosened his grip a little and pressed a gentle kiss to your neck.
“Stay here, hermosa,” he said softly against your skin. “I’ll be right back to clean you up.” As soon as you nodded, he pulled away, making sure you were steady before letting go completely.
You placed your other hand on the door in front of you as you took a few deep breaths, unable to wipe the smile from your face. Jesus you’d really needed th-...
The sound of water hitting the floor cut off your train of thought. Shit. “Uh, Frankie?” You called, not wanting to move in case you slipped.
“Yeah, hermosa?” He called back from down the hall.
“I think my water just broke…”
“Shit.”

Nicolás Francisco Morales was born at 10:17 pm on Valentine’s Day after a quick and painful delivery. He was the spitting image of you, just like Ava looked like Frankie, and perfect in every way.
Frankie cradled a sleeping Nicolás to his chest as he leaned over the bed to press a kiss to your forehead. You blinked up at him sleepily and smiled. “Everything okay?” you whispered, not wanting to wake up the newborn.
“Perfect, mi sol,” he responded quietly. “Your mom dropped off Ava because she couldn’t get her to calm down.” He tipped his head to the sleeping from on the couch in your room with a shake of his head. “She didn’t last five minutes.”
You chuckled quietly, reaching out to cup Frankie’s cheek getting him to meet your eyes. You both just stared at each other for a moment before you finally said, “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Pairing: Frankie ‘Catfish’ Morales x Reader
Notes: So, this took me longer than I care to admit. I’ve never had a request before so I might have been freaking out about it. After a bit of internal debate I decided to add this as a bonus scene to The Road-Trip but will be set before that took place. With all that said, I really do hope you like it @yespolkadotkitty!! (I also want to say thank you to all the new people who have liked, reblogged, and followed me! It still truly means so much to me.)
Warnings: Cursing, mentions of menstrual cycles, and I think that’s all...

Your morning had started out awful, from the moment you opened your eyes absolutely nothing had gone right. With the cramps and mood swings, you’d been in a fabulous mood. To top it all off, you’d snapped at Frankie.
All the man had done was ask a simple question and you’d snapped back at him before storming out of the door without so much as a kiss goodbye. Anger and frustration had turned into regret about halfway to work, once you’d finally calmed down. As soon as you’d pulled into a parking space you typed out a text to him quickly apologizing and telling him you loved him and that you’d explain everything when you got home. You hit send, grabbed up your purse, and hurried inside because now you were late.
The rest of your day didn’t get any better either. Your boss had given you shit for being late every chance he got, the majority of the customers were complete assholes, and you had to work through your break because of the rush. You had only been able to give your phone quick glances once or twice throughout the day but Frankie had never responded. You tried not to let it bother you, you really did.
The moment your shift from hell was over, you were out the door and going home. You were in such a rush you forgot to check your phone before you left, only realizing you’d forgotten when Frankie didn’t call you on your way home like he normally did. That was when the worry that you’d really pissed him off this morning set in. You resigned yourself to text him once you were home if he wasn’t there waiting on you, that way you could give him your complete attention. After how you’d acted this morning you really felt like he deserved nothing less.
Your heart dropped when you pulled into your complex and didn’t see his truck. With a sigh, you grabbed your purse and headed to your apartment. Once you were inside you dropped your things on the counter and absently said hello to Flex as opened your phone to the text messages and froze. “Shit,” you said, the curse slipping out when you realized what had happened.
Beside your apology was a blinking cursor. Apparently, in your rush to apologize to Frankie and get into work you had either never hit send or it didn’t register when you tried. It was no wonder he hadn’t responded all day, he probably thought you were more pissed off than you really were. Fuck.
You hurriedly went to call him, only to fumble with your phone and drop it. With another curse, you scrambled to pick it up. All you wanted to do was call him and tell him how sorry you were, how you’d screwed up, and how it wasn’t even his fault.
You’d just picked up your phone before Flex tried to steal it when a knock at the door stopped you in your tracks. What the hell?
Of course that set off your dog and honestly, you debated ignoring it because you  wanted nothing more than to fix what had happened this morning.  But then whoever it was knocked again.
With a sigh, you held Flex’s collar as you pulled your door open to an all too familiar hat. Frankie. He stood there with a bag from your favorite restaurant in one hand and a bouquet of your favorite flowers in the other.
As he lifted his head to meet your eyes, a soft smile gracing his lips your eyes blurred with tears. And through your tears you saw his face fall. “Ah, hell, hermosa. I didn’t mean to make you cry. Shit.” He moved to place both the flowers and food on the table by the door and quickly wrapped you up in his arms, kicking the door shut behind him.
You let go of Flex’s collar and buried your face into Frankie’s chest. “I’m sorry,” you hiccupped through your tears. “I was..”
He tilted his head down and pressed his lips to the top of your head before he cut you off. “No, hermosa, I’m the one who’s sorry.”
You pulled back, only enough to meet his eyes and shook your head. “You didn’t do anything, it was me and my stupid hormones and…” You trailed off when he wiped your tears away with his thumbs and leaned in to kiss you.
“Nothing about you is stupid, mi sol,” he said against your lips then pressed another kiss to your forehead, letting his lips linger for a moment. When he straightened you gave him a watery smile that he returned. “Go get comfortable. I’ll take Flex out, get Marvin out of the truck, and then plate up our food, alright?”
He wiped under your eyes again as you nodded. With his hands on your shoulders he spun you and gently pushed you in the direction of your bedroom.
After you’d gotten changed into one of his t-shirts and a pair of his sweatpants, you met him on your couch while Marvin and Flex lounged in their respective chairs. You leaned against him as he handed you your plate and had to smile when he turned on one of your favorite movies. The man apparently had the night planned out and after the day you’d had, it almost made you want to cry again.
He took your plate once you were done and placed both his and yours on the coffee table. He placed a box you hadn’t noticed on your lap and then he wrapped his arm around you. You glanced up at him, brow furrowed and he just smiled. “Open it, hermosa,” he hedged, eyeing the box with an expectant look on his face.
Your face lit up in a smile when you did as he’d requested and you saw your favorite pastries from the bakery down the street. It was the one thing you craved this time of the month and the fact that he’d remembered warmed you from the inside out. You turned your smile on him and shook your head, your hand coming up to cup his cheek. “Baby…” you whispered, running your fingers through his scruff. “Thank you.”
He didn’t have a chance to respond because you were right there kissing him. Kissing him and pulling him down with you on the couch. He went willingly, but quickly jerked back when you heard the crunch of the box that was still on your lap. “Mierda,” he hissed before he met your eyes. You stared at each other for just a moment before you broke out into a laugh, effectively breaking the tension. He had to arch awkwardly in an attempt to save the pastries and then he tossed them onto the coffee table. With a shake of his head he dropped his head to your shoulder. “Fuck,” he said, drawing out the word.
You cupped the back of his head, keeping him where he was for just a minute while you shook with laughter. He nipped at your shoulder playfully and then lifted his head to press a kiss to your chin. “You know you didn’t have to do this, right? I was a complete jerk this mor-“ you started.
“So?” He interrupted. “It wasn’t a big deal, hermosa. I knew you didn’t mean it.” He shrugged, and still you were amazed at how this man could take anything you threw at him without flinching.
“I love you, Frankie,” you said, gently scratching the back of his head with your nails.
He gave you a slow wink and nodded. “I know.”

The Road-Trip Part 7- The Epilogue
Tumblr media
Part Six | Masterlist | Bonus Scene - Pre Road-Trip
Rating: T+
Pairing: Frankie Catfish Morales x Reader
Word Count: 2,386
Notes:  I know I’ve said this every time, but really, truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank YOU! I didn’t have much confidence in myself to be able to start and finish a story but here we are. I think we’re finally at the end. (Though I could be persuaded to write a little more if y’all have any ideas for these two.) You all have been amazing and just what I needed to get through the end of this year. I wish you all a Happy New Year and Happy Holidays! ❤
Warnings: Cursing and fluff...
Summary:  Set about four and half years into the future, give or take, and things seem to have come full circle.
“Shit!” You heard Frankie exclaim, quickly followed by a much younger and higher pitched, “thit!” And then a giggle that you couldn’t help but smile at. When you rounded the corner you saw Frankie kneeling in front of your daughter, a serious look on his face.
“Nena, you know you’re not supposed to repeat things that daddy says,” he reminded her quietly, only to realize belatedly that he’d been caught when he looked up from your daughter and saw your raised eyebrow.
“I know, daddy,” Ava said with a snicker.
Frankie growled at her playfully and scooped her up, then tossed her over his shoulder as she continued her giggling. He mouthed ‘sorry’ to you as he brought over your laughing wiggle worm and pressed a quick kiss to your forehead.
You’d have thought by now that he’d have realized that your little girl was his absolute mini-me and she wanted to do anything and everything he did. She was three and had had him completely wrapped around her tiny pinky since the day she was born. Not only did she act like him, but she looked just like him. It was not an easy job telling the two of them no when they both were pouting at you.
With a shrug you dodged little feet to get your kiss. “Is your daddy teaching you bad words?” you asked, smirk firmly in place as you watched Frankie roll his eyes.
“Is ‘thit’ a bad word?” Ava asked, her dark brown eyes meeting yours when Frankie playfully spun her and hitched her up on his hip, she had the most innocent expression on her face.
It took everything you had not to laugh, especially when Frankie looked away so he wouldn’t either. You cleared your throat and nodded, attempting to be serious. “Yes, baby. That’s a bad word.”
“And daddy’s sorry for saying it in front of you,” he said, meeting Ava’s eyes, his lips twitched in his attempt to be serious.
She cupped his scruffy cheeks in her little hands and nodded. “It okay, daddy. I fo’give you.”
“Okay, baby. Go get your bag of toys together so we can get it in the car.” You rubbed her back and pressed a kiss to her temple before stepping around Frankie to head to the door.
You heard Frankie say “thank you, nena,” then loud little feet slapping against the hardwood as Ava ran up the stairs to her room, followed by the sound of clacking nails moving a little slower in the same direction. You went to lift up the dog bags that Frankie had left by the door, only to have them taken out of your hand, this time it was his eyebrow raised at you.
“What?” you asked, frowning up at him, until it dawned on you. “Oh, come on, Frankie. I can carry a few bags, you know.”
“I know you can, but that doesn’t mean you should, hermosa.” He grabbed up the other few bags that he’d put there and then looked at you expectantly.
You stood still, the two of you having a silent stand off until you huffed and opened the door for him. “Don’t complain to me when your back hurts later,” you called after him. You went to shut the door only to have to open it again for Flex, who hurried out to follow Frankie. Stubborn man.
You knew Marvin was with Ava. That dog had become your little girl’s shadow. You swore to this day he’d known you were pregnant before you did. He’d liked you and stuck by you when Frankie wasn’t around but he’d become absolutely clingy before you even noticed something was up. It had weirded you out at first when he’d started following you around and laying his head in your lap but it all made sense after you’d gone to the doctor and found out you were pregnant.
Frankie had told you that when he’d got Marvin that the shelter had warned him that there was a good possibility that he wouldn’t be good with kids. That he wasn’t fond of fast movements and how loud children could be. But that shelter couldn’t have been more wrong. Marvin loved Ava possibly more than he loved Frankie. He was the first one there when she cried, followed her around when she started to crawl, and even let her dress him up when she wanted to have a tea party. Not only that, but he’d given up sleeping with you and Frankie and stayed with Ava instead.
Flex was still your baby, but he’d taken to Frankie a little more because he was the one who was taking him out. It was easier now that you guys had a yard and were farther from the road. It was one of the things that had sold you and Frankie on this house. You had moved here about a year and a half after you’d moved into his apartment when you’d found out you were pregnant. Frankie wanted a place that would be big enough for the five of you and to give the dogs a place to run.
You had agreed immediately. You wanted the peace that living outside of the city would give you. Living here reminded you of the cabin you’d stayed at when you’d gone on the first long road-trip with Frankie to meet his friends. It had lived up to the expectations too. There were many nights you and Frankie had fallen asleep on the porch to the sounds of the summer and you wouldn’t trade any of that for the city life.
True to Will‘s word, he and Benny had all helped you and Frankie move again and Pope had actually managed to get some time off so he could come too. It was good to see them all, even if this time you had to dodge four people instead of just one when you tried to help. Every single one of them was overprotective and would barely let you lift a finger. It was just as sweet as it was infuriating.
You were pulled out of your thoughts when a little hand tugged at your shirt. You smiled down at your daughter and picked her up when she held up her arms. “Hi, baby,” you said with a grin.
“I can’t find my flip flop, mama,” she said instead of a greeting, holding her leg up to show you she only had one shoe on.
You chuckled and placed her on the counter. “I think I saw it in the living room so don’t move, okay, Ava?”
“Yes, mama,” she said as you started to walk away only to stop short when Frankie rounded the corner with the matching flip flop in his hand.
“Not the living room, I found this…” he waved the tiny flip flop in his hand, “in the back of the Tahoe.” He placed a hand on your side and kissed your forehead as he passed. “How‘d you get up on the counter, nena?” he asked, slipping her other shoe on before setting her back on the floor.
“Mama put me,” she said simply, the little tattletale.
You rolled your eyes at Frankie‘s look. “It’s not like I was carrying her,” you pointed out. When he didn’t answer you decided to distract your daughter so you could actually talk to him. “Go grab your bag, Ava. Daddy needs to put it in the car.”
“Okay, mama!” And with that she ran back upstairs to get the bag she’d left behind.
Once she was out of earshot you took the three steps to get into his space and placed a hand on his chest. “Frankie, I’m fine. And I don’t mean the fine that women say when they’re actually not, I mean I’m okay. Good even.”
He dropped his eyes before he nodded. After a deep breath he cupped the back of your neck and pulled you to him, his lips pressing against your forehead. “I know, I just…”
“I know.”
~*~
An hour later you were strapping Ava into her car seat as Frankie got the dogs in the back and checked the luggage again, making sure you all hadn’t forgotten a thing. You gave Ava a ziplock bag of Cheetos and helped her with her headphones before you started the movie for her.
While you checked her straps again, she smiled up at you, mouth already orange from the Cheeto dust. She hadn’t waited to dig into the bag, like always, she’d cracked it open the moment you’d handed it to her.
You ran a hand over her curls, double checked the child locks, and then met Frankie behind the SUV.
He gripped your hand and pulled you to him, one hand cupping the back of your neck with the other landed on your lower back. When he started to massage both places your knees almost gave out it felt so good.
“Fuck, Frankie…”
A deep chuckle rumbled out of his chest as he pressed his nose in your hair. “Feel good, hermosa?” He rasped, tilting his head to nip at your ear.
You gasped, fingers digging into his sides as you tried to hold back your moan. With Ava, alone time with Frankie was few and farther between than either of you would like, so moments like this weren’t taken for granted.
He spun you away from the trunk and shut the door. Before you could react, he had you pressed up against the back of the Tahoe, his lips brushing yours. You surged forward, pressing your lips fully against his. His thigh slid between your legs causing you to gasp into his mouth, which he took full advantage of. Your hips started to move on their own, it felt so good. His leg and his mouth and...Shit. And you were so close…
A sharp kick to your rib caught you off guard, causing you to pull your mouth away from his with a hiss.  Instantly Frankie was looking at you with concern.
“What happened? Did I hurt yo…”
“No,” you panted, trying to catch your breath from not only the kiss but the pain as well. “Kick to the rib,” you explained.
Frankie’s face relaxed and then slipped his leg out from between yours the moment over as quickly as it started. His hands dropped to rub your sides gently. You felt his silent chuckle when you dropped your head down onto his chest.
“I was so close,” you whined.
Frankie pressed his lips to the top of your head and tilted your head back to meet his dark hooded eyes. “I’ll make it up to you tonight when we get to the cabin,” he promised. “Even if we have to distract Ava with her uncles for an hour.”
You cupped the back of his neck and pulled him to you to press your lips to his. “I’m holding you to that, Morales.”
He winked at you as he pressed his lips to the back of your hand. Once he led you to the door he helped you up into your seat you watched him in the rearview mirror pluck Ava’s headphones off her head and give her kisses all over her face to the sounds of her laughter.
He put the headphones back on her and then walked around to the drivers seat before he got you all on the road. Instead of laying his hand on your thigh, he rubbed at your belly, pressing it flat against it when he felt the baby kick. You watched his smile grow as you covered his hand with yours.
When Pope had called, it had taken a lot of convincing on your part to get Frankie to even agree to go. You hadn’t had the easiest pregnancy with Ava and had even had a few scares in the later months, but everything with this one was going well. You’d had to send in the mini reinforcements to finally seal the deal. Frankie had a hard time telling her no. And when she begged to see her cousins, he’d finally given in. Will had a son with his wife that was a little older than Ava and Benny’s girlfriend had just given birth to his daughter about five months ago. Pope was still the same ol’ bachelor he’d been when you'd met him, but he loved all those kids like he was blood and they loved him right back.
In the weeks leading up to the trip, you could tell Frankie was tense. So one night after Ava had gone to bed, you’d made him talk about it. It only took a few hours before you two had come to a compromise. You both had even looked into the hospital in the area, and decided to book the cabin that was the closest to it, just in case. Anything to ease Frankie’s mind because when he was stressed, you were stressed.
As much as you wanted to lean against his arm and sleep like you had all those years ago, with your six month baby bump, moving around was already hard enough. So instead you just ran your fingers up and down the bare skin of his arm. “You know if she likes this, she’s going to want to do it all the time,” you said, leaning your head against the headrest and turning to Frankie.
“I know,” he said with a huffed laugh. “But I think the next time we’ll have another little one to worry about.” His thumb rubbed your belly again before he dropped it to your thigh.
“You’re not going to hear me complain,” you said with a wince as you tried to get comfortable, only to get another kick for it in return.
“I’m sorry, mi sol,” he said softly, his brow furrowed as he took his eyes off the road just long enough to make sure you were okay. “If I could take the pain…”
“I know, baby.”
He gave your leg a squeeze, nodding to himself. “Try and get some sleep, mi alma.” He took your hand and pressed a kiss to it before he tangled your fingers together. “We should be there in a few hours. But if you need me to stop, just tell me.”

The Road-Trip Part Six
Tumblr media
Part Five | Masterlist | Part Seven -  Epilogue
Rating: Mature/Explicit
Pairing: Frankie Catfish Morales x Reader
Word Count: 1,826
Notes:  First of all, I want to thank each and everyone of you for coming with me on this journey. It wasn’t something I ever thought I’d do or that I was even capable of doing by myself. Your likes and reblogs have meant more to me than I know you all will ever know.  ❤
Second, this is going to be the final “part”, I do plan on posting an epilogue, though. If everything goes to plan it’s going to be set a few years down the road and that should be done within the next couple of days, hopefully.
Warnings: implied oral f-receiving, sex, cursing, fluff, the beginning of this is NSFW and is intended for only 18+!
Summary:  After Frankie finds out that you get to stay for another day, he decides to thank you...Very well.
You gasped, finally pushing Frankie’s head away when it got to be too much. He looked up, a silent question in the furrow of his brow until you pushed at his face again. He pressed a kiss to the inside of your thigh and chuckled when you shuddered. You both were covered in a sheen of sweat and breathing hard but still, he moved up your body pressing feather light kisses against your bare skin. When he reached your lips he nipped at your bottom one and flopped down beside you with a groan of his own.
Using some of the strength you had left, you turned your head to meet his dark brown eyes and smiled lazily. “You’re welcome,” you rasped, laughing breathlessly.
Frankie barked out his own laugh and one arm reached out to pull you against him. He lifted that hand to cup your cheek, his thumb tracing your bottom lip, your smile growing as he tilted your chin to kiss you. His lips brushed yours softly at first until your smile faded and all that mattered was the two of you. The way you tasted yourself on his tongue had you humming into the kiss, which only spurred him on more.
He slowly rolled you over, his rough hand grabbed your thigh and hitched it over his hip. The movement pulled you even closer and you felt the head of his cock brushing against your entrance. Your gasp effectively broke off the kiss and he met your eyes. Before he could even ask you were nodding and pulling him closer.  As he slowly entered you it was his turn to shudder and the grip on your thigh tightened enough to leave a mark. “Fuck,” he groaned, the word was drug out until he was flush against you.
The first time had been a few hours ago and frantic. Between the dreams and the lack of sleep, all you both wanted to do was hold each other and days turned into a week since you had been together. The last few days though had been one hell of a build up with interruptions at every turn. But you two were alone now.
You had been in the kitchen doing the dishes when Frankie had asked if you wanted to pack tonight or in the morning. Once you’d told him you’d booked one more day so you could spend it alone before going back home, that was all it had taken.
He’d pushed you up against the counter, all the pent up tension he’d had over the last couple of days came out in that heated kiss. When you both needed to breathe he’d placed open mouth kisses up your jaw as your fingers had tangled in his hair. You could have sworn he’d been wearing a hat a few minutes ago but it was nowhere to be found.
You’d pushed back, pushing him towards the bedroom and he’d gotten the hint. He walked backwards, only breaking the kiss when he bumped into things causing you both to laugh. The frantic rush to the bedroom fading away into sweet kisses and wandering hands. When he’d finally gotten you both into the bedroom, he shut the door in the dogs faces and spun you around, backing you up to the bed. You both had quickly stripped and then he was cupping your cheeks and tilting your head up to kiss you all over again. You didn’t know how but the next thing you knew you were on the bed with Frankie on top of you.
When he wasn’t inside of you, he was between your legs, making you cry out his name. You had no idea how many orgasms you’d had already, all you knew was that right now, he was trying for one more.
Gently, he rolled you onto your back, never pulling out of you. You gathered what was left of your energy and wrapped your legs around him as he started moving again. This time it was slow, he was taking his time, drawing out the pleasure for both you and him.
You cupped his face, staring into his dark eyes, seeing the pleasure all over his face. You wanted to watch him fall apart above you, wanted to feel him lose that careful control, wanted to hear him cry out your name. You weren’t sure if you had another orgasm in you, but that didn’t matter at all. This time was about making him feel good.
Your thumbs rubbed the apple of his cheeks causing him to smile down at you. With one hand holding him up, he gripped your hip, squeezing as he deepened his thrusts. He didn’t talk much when he was this pent up. But the litany of grunts, gasps, and moans did more for you than words ever would.
He dropped his forehead to yours, your fingers tangling in his hair again as your breaths mingled, your lips brushing in lazy kisses. “Fuck, hermosa,” he groaned, his grip on your hip tightening even more.
You nodded, pulling him away so you could see his face. His eyes were closed tightly, every muscle in his body taut with tension. He was still holding back but you could tell he was close. It wasn’t going to take much to push him over the edge. “So good, Frankie,” you breathed.
His eyes snapped open at the praise, your words causing his hips to lose their rhythm. His face crumpled, his moans getting louder before they turned into curses. “Fuck, fuck, fuck.” He growled out your name before he grit his teeth and two thrusts later he pushed deep inside and stilled, not even breathing as you felt him jerk inside of you.
He gasped for air and then gently collapsed onto you, his face burying itself in your neck. You wrapped your arms around him, holding him close as you felt his cock jerk one more time, his whole body shuddering with it.
“Holy shit,” you breathed.
His muffled laugh joined yours as he continued to lay on you. You felt him nod against your neck then weakly pushed himself up just enough to flop over beside you once again, your legs still tangled together.
“You didn’t, did you?” he asked, eyebrow raised as he watched your face.
You shook your head but you were smiling, you reached out to brush the damp hair off of his forehead. “Seeing you… That was enough for me.”
He tilted his head and pressed a kiss to your wrist and then closed his eyes. “If you give me a few minutes…”
“We’ll both be asleep,” you said, cutting him off. When he cracked an eye open to narrow it at you you laughed and rolled over to face him. “Tell me I’m wrong.”
He bumped his nose against yours as he shook his head. “Like I’d ever bet against you,” he murmured, right before his breathing evened out.
~*~
You woke to scratching on the door and had to smile, the boys were making themselves known after leaving the two of you alone for a few hours. Glancing over your shoulder you saw Frankie was still asleep and he looked so peaceful that you didn’t have the heart to wake him. So, you slipped out of bed, found the shirt he’d been wearing and your underwear in the dim light of the morning that was coming through the windows and dressed before quietly leaving the room to let the dogs out.
The last few days that Frankie’s friends had been around had been a lot of fun. You could tell that they’d all missed each other and were glad to be in each other’s company again. You loved the fact that the man you’d fallen in love with didn’t change at all around them either. He wasn’t the kind of guy that put on a front to impress his friends.
When the guys had decided that they’d wanted another night in, you’d cooked dinner for them making enough that all three of them could have leftovers. And when they’d left Pope had jokingly threatened Frankie, telling him “If you don’t put a ring on her finger, I will.” You’d just pressed a kiss to Pope’s cheek and told him that he was always going to be your backup which only caused Frankie to curse at him in Spanish before pulling the other man into a hug, effectively getting you away from Pope.
Will had left his number with you, and made you promise to call him when you decided to move so him and Benny could be there to help. You’d given the Miller brothers hugs and promised you would call, though you figured Benny was mainly coming to see Flex again.
You were pulled out of your thoughts when Frankie slipped his arms around you and pressed a kiss to your neck.
“Good morning, hermosa,” he said softly, one of his hands dropped to rub Marvin’s head when he came over to lean against your legs.
You held up your coffee cup which he took gratefully. You leaned back into him as he drank and lifted a hand to run your fingers through the hair at the nape of his neck. “Good morning, baby.”
“Feeling okay?”
You spun in his arms and smiled up at him. “More than.” You cupped his cheek, running your nails through the scruff then pressed a kiss to the corner of his mouth. “Last night was…”
“Incredible,” he finished, placing the coffee cup on the counter behind you.
“Yeah,” you agreed. “It was.”
~*~
After breakfast the two of you spent the day out sightseeing. There were a few things you’d seen online that you could do in the town you were in. You’d gone to watch glass blowing,  gone on a cave tour, gone to dinner, and then ended the night slow dancing at some little hole in the wall bar in town.
You’d spent the day holding hands and just being a regular couple without the weight of any sort of responsibility on your shoulders. It was everything a vacation was supposed to be. And when you’d gotten back to the cabin, you two just curled up together in bed kissing until you both fell asleep in each other's arms.
~*~
The following morning was a blur of packing, cleaning, and getting everything and the dogs loaded back up into the SUV. By the time you were sitting in the passenger seat you were ready for another nap.
You were going to miss this place and all the memories that had been made during this long weekend. But when you looked from the cabin to Frankie and he gave you the smile he saved just for you, you knew you were ready to start the next chapter of your lives.
You leaned over the center console and pressed a kiss to his smiling lips. “Let’s go home, baby.”

The Road-Trip Part Five

Part Four | Masterlist | Part Six
Rating: T +
Pairing: Frankie Catfish Morales x Reader
Notes: First off, Merry Christmas if you celebrate it, Happy Holidays if you celebrate something else, or just Happy Friday if you don’t! I never really expected this to go on for this long, if I’m being honest. I’m thinking maybe one more part and an epilogue if all goes as planned. Thank you again for all of your support, comments, and reblogs. They’re better than presents under the tree! ❤
Warnings: Mentions of death (briefly), cursing, and a bit (okay,  still a quite a bit) of fluff, excessive drinking, throwing up, and a very comforting Frankie.
Summary:  This was an idea from another prompt. The list is “Whump Prompts which are close to my heart. (If this is from your list, please let me know, it didn’t have a username to go with it.)
Prompt:  Hey, hey, hey. I’ve got you, I’ve got you
The following morning you couldn’t wipe the smile off your face as you sat on the counter watching Frankie make breakfast as you drank your coffee. Marvin was leaning against his leg whenever he stopped moving for more than thirty seconds and Flex was letting you use him as footstool. You chuckled into your cup when Marvin tripped up Frankie for the tenth time this morning. He never got mad about it, just huffed a little and stepped around the big dog and then narrowed his eyes at you. “Something funny, hermosa?”
You bit your lip in an attempt to hold back your smile and shook your head. “Nope,” you responded, stealing a piece of bacon and taking a bite all while holding his eyes.
He grabbed up a piece and broke it in two, then threw them to the floor, using the distraction to slip between your legs. He pressed a kiss to your lips and then turned his head to steal a bite of your bacon with a smirk. You held out your cup to him and he took a sip and then narrowed his eyes again. “Are you trying to distract me from the fact you were laughing at me?” he asked, placing the cup he’d taken from you off to the side on the counter.
“I would nev-” you cut yourself off with a laugh as Frankie pressed his face into the crook of your neck nipping at the bare skin, his mustache tickling you as his fingers did the same to your sides. “Okay. Okay! Yes.”
“Yes what?” Frankie asked, nipping once more, chuckling against your neck when you jumped.
“I was laughing at you!”
“Was that so hard, hermosa?” He lifted his head and before you could react, he stole the rest of your bacon with his teeth, winked and backed away. You made a face at him and threw your leg out trying to kick him, which he dodged expertly, laughing as he went back to the stove. "Is this what I have to look forward to every morning?” You asked, grabbing another piece of bacon.
“You telling me you’re only moving in for the food?”
You laughed and reached out, grabbed his arm and pulled him back to you. You pressed your lips to his, gently running your nose along his when you broke off the kiss. “The food is just a bonus.” Your voice was quiet and more serious than either of you had expected. He leaned back a bit so he could see your face, the worry in his eyes fading away when he took in the look on your face. You licked your lips as your eyes dropped to his chest, a sudden shyness you hadn’t felt since the beginning of your relationship coming over you.
Frankie tilted your chin up with two fingers and smiled softly at you. He slipped that hand from under your chin, to cup the back of your neck, his eyes bouncing back and forth between yours. “Whatever you want, hermosa, it’s yours. You know that, right?”
You dropped the uneaten piece of bacon onto the counter and cupped Frankie’s cheeks, pulling him back to you. Your lips pressing together in a kiss that deepened the moment he opened his mouth. His grip on you tightened and he pulled you to the edge of the counter as your kiss got more and more heated. That was until there was a knock at the door, and then another, and another.
You broke apart like you were high schoolers that had just been caught by your parents, you stared at each other for a moment before you both started laughing. The serious moment broken by Benny who was now yelling and banging on the door.
Frankie moved back in for another kiss, this one sweeter, less frantic than before, only breaking it when his smile got too big. When he met your eyes he winked, straightened, and yelled something out in Spanish as he went to answer the door.
You took that moment to compose yourself and quiet down the dogs who had started barking while Frankie let in the guys. You slid down off the counter, meeting Pope for a hug as you took in the four of them. They all looked a little bruised but seemed to be moving as smoothly as Frankie had been, considering what had happened the night before.
You made everyone coffee and the five of you moved to the back porch with Benny sitting on the floor, forgoing a chair so he could play with Flex. Frankie pulled you down to sit on his lap as the others sat in the deck chairs, Marvin sitting beside him and leaned against his leg. The conversation flowed just as easily as the day before, this time the questions were directed at you and Frankie. How the two of you met -which only Pope had heard- how long you’d been together, and of course when were you two tying the knot, as Benny put it.
Frankie had huffed, tossing the tennis ball at the other man as he said. “Damn, Benjamin, don’t scare her away, I just got her to agree to move in with me.”
You’d smiled down at him and him at you, which, of course, had started the mixture of jabs and obligatory congratulations. Pope had gotten up, pulling you and then Frankie into a hug, telling the man it was ‘about damn time’.
The morning continued on this way until Pope spoke up and said that he and the guys had talked about it and they’d decided they’d rather spend the evening here. They’d go to town and buy up everything they’d need for a cookout and then they’d bring it back and set up the fire pit and grill. His reasoning was that it was easier and less of a chance of someone getting arrested tonight.
You’d all gotten a good laugh at that, but you knew that none of them regretted one moment of last night. They’d done it to protect someone and honestly, you were glad they had. It just proved that they were the men that Frankie had told you they were.
~*~
Frankie had taken the dogs and went with everyone else to town to get ready for the night ahead, which had left you blissfully and completely alone. You’d taken your time in the shower, gotten dressed in your most comfortable jeans,  and had even let your hair in the messy bun you’d been sporting that morning.
By the time you’d come out of the bathroom the guys were back and setting everything up outside. You went out and asked if there was anything you could do to help, which resulted with you and Frankie in the kitchen, while the other three tried to figure out how the grill worked.
The two of you worked side by side, seasoning the steaks and burgers that the men had picked up and placed them on trays to make it easier to carry outside. You could feel his eyes on you and instead of asking what he was staring at, you just hip checked him as you took one of the finished trays to the fridge. The moment you’d set the tray down he reached out, caught you around the waist, and pulled you back to him. You gave a surprised yelp but went willingly. He pulled your hair back so he could press a kiss to your neck and then your cheek. “Thanks for being alright with us staying here tonight,” he said softly.
“Hey,” you whispered and turned in his arms. “You know I don’t mind… Plus, I like them. And you’re not going to hear me complain when I get to spend more time with you.”
“Let’s see if you’re still saying that three months from now once you’re stuck with me all the time.”
You shook your head as you pinched his side. “It’s not going to be all the time,” you pointed out. “We’ve still got our jobs. We’ll just be able to come home to each other and I really like the sound of that.” He smiled down at you and pressed your lips together. You broke off the kiss almost as soon as it started and frowned up at him. “But who’s to say you won’t get tired of me after three months?”
He scoffed and shook his head and instead of verbally answering he just kissed you again.
You’d just started to melt into his arms when you thought you heard the door open, but you weren’t really paying any attention to it until you heard Benny say, “If you two lovebirds are done in here, we might need some help with that grill.”
~*~
With the four of them, they’d finally got the grill to work and Will had started cooking, filling the grill up with more food than you thought they could possibly eat. Frankie and Pope had gone to collect some wood for the fire pit while you watched Benny throw the tennis ball for Flex. Marvin on the other hand, was leaning into your legs as you rubbed his head. You figured he still wasn’t sure about the younger Miller brother, and that was why he was sticking to you and Frankie like glue until he was.
Frankie and Pope got back just in time to get the firepit started before it started getting dark and after they’d got that going, the five of you sat around it just eating and sharing stories. You’d gotten to hear about Tom, their old captain and friend that they’d lost on the last trip that they’d taken together. When the mood got to be more than a little melancholy, you changed the subject to lighter things and in no time the men were back to themselves and laughing and joking with each other. Frankie had held you a little tighter, whispering a thank you in your ear as he pressed a kiss to your temple while the other men were distracted.
It went on like that for a little while longer until Benny pulled a deck of cards out of his back pocket. You couldn’t have known that that meant trouble, but when he’d suggested you all play the game Kings none of you all had any better ideas and it had seemed innocent enough, so you all had agreed. He had laid out his phone with the rules and placed the deck face down on the middle of the table set up outside. It had started off simple, Pope drew a six, which meant all the girls -you- drank. You drew a five, which meant all the guys drank. Each card stood for something like questions or tasks and it felt like every time a card was flipped you were having to drink for some reason or another. Before long the majority of the bottle Pope had brought was over halfway gone and you were more than a little tipsy.
While you didn’t want to be the first to drop out of the game, even your normally competitive side was waving a white flag of defeat. You were sitting on Frankie’s lap when you announced you were done, which was quickly followed by Will, Frankie, and Pope. It was more than you’d drank in a long time and you were definitely feeling it. That wasn’t exactly a good thing either.
Frankie rubbed your back as he leaned forward to look at you. “You good, hermosa?” he asked and you could almost swear you heard concern in his tone.
You nodded, which was a mistake because all that did was make the space around you start to spin. You closed your eyes, fighting off the nausea, your hand going to Frankie’s shoulder for balance. When you’d finally got yourself under what you considered control, you slid your hand up from his shoulder to pat his cheek. “Yeah, baby, I j-just need some water.” After taking a deep breath, you opened your eyes and gave him a lazy smile.
It took you a few tries but you finally stood, swaying slightly until Frankie’s hands gripped your sides. “Yeah, I don’t think so,” he said, standing up behind you, his firm grip keeping you vertical. “I think it might be time for bed. You guys are more than welcome to crash here.” You heard some sounds of agreement but before you could chime in, letting them know you were good with it too, Frankie was steering you towards the house.
About five steps away from the door was where your stomach revolted with the amount of alcohol you’d consumed and you doubled over, emptying the contents of your stomach on the ground. Your knees had almost given out but a pair of strong arms wrapped around you and held you up.
“Hey, hey, hey. I’ve got you, I’ve got you,” Frankie said, comforting you as you threw up everything you’d eaten for the past twenty-four hours. You hadn’t gotten this drunk since college and now you were kind of remembering why.
The rest of the night was pretty much a blur, only a few things sticking out that you actually remembered. Frankie holding your hair back as you threw up again in the bathroom -at least making it to the toilet this time-, Frankie carrying you back to bed and helping you change into one of his t-shirts, and then Frankie telling you if you felt sick all you had to do was lean over the side of the bed because the trashcan was right there. You vaguely remembered apologizing for ruining the night but couldn’t remember what he’d said in return, only that he’d gotten you to drink a little bit of water before you passed out completely.
~*~
You woke with a groan, on your stomach facing away from the warm body behind you. The bed shifted slightly as Frankie tucked your hair behind your ear then ran the backs of his fingers down your cheek. You didn’t dare try to move yet, you already felt like death and you’d barely opened your eyes. “Oh, God…”
“Are you alright, love?” Frankie asked, gently rubbing your back.
Instead of using your words, you just groaned again and risked turning your face toward him, then pressed your face into his hip effectively blocking out the sun that had started coming through the windows. He huffed a short laugh as he ran his fingers through your hair. “I’ll take that as a no.”
“Did you sleep?” you rasped after a blissful ten minutes of silence. He didn’t answer you but you knew he was awake because he was still rubbing your back. You chanced leaning back just enough to crack an eye open to look at him.
When he just gave you a sheepish look, you made a noise of  and pressed your face back against his warm hip. “Frankie…”
“I’d apologize, but we’d both know I was lying.” Your eyes weren’t even open but you could hear the shrug in his voice. You lifted your hand to pat his chest and smiled against his hip when he threaded your fingers together. “I didn’t want to risk you rolling on to your back or me getting trapped in a…”
He trailed off when you squeezed his fingers and nodded against him. “I know, baby.”
“I’ll sleep tonight, hell, maybe I’ll even take a nap today.”
“Nap sounds good,” you agreed, smiling when he chuckled, until it started shaking the bed and you groaned.
“Shit! Sorry, sorry,” he said, quickly getting himself under control.
~*~
When you woke again, the bed was empty and you were feeling marginally better than roadkill. You cracked an eye open just in time to see a shirtless Frankie walk through the bedroom door.
“Alright, hermosa, time to get up,” he said, carefully sitting on the bed. You blinked up at him and frowned, but he was there and helping you up before you could even object.
With his help he led you to the bathroom where you saw the clawfoot tub over halfway full of steaming water. You turned your head to raise a questioning eyebrow at him and he smiled...No, smirked at you.
“The guys are gone.” His hands turned you again towards the sink where your toothbrush and toothpaste were waiting for you. The man was an absolute godsend, because your mouth? Yeah, you weren’t going to think about that. “And I just want to take care of you. So a bath, then maybe some toast, water,  ibuprofen, and then you’re going to relax until you feel better.” He gathered your hair so he could place a gentle kiss right where your jaw met your neck. You shuddered as you watched him in the mirror and smiled when all he did was meet your eyes in the mirror and winked.
Once your teeth were brushed and you’d stripped down, you tested the water with your fingers and then climbed inside the tub. You couldn’t help the moan as you lowered yourself to sit. The water was hot and relaxing as hell. How had you managed to get so lucky finding the man in front of you? You couldn’t answer that, but you sure as hell weren’t going to take it for granted either.
You reached out to run your wet fingers down Frankie’s stubbled cheek as he kneeled beside the tub and smiled when he pressed a kiss to your palm. He took your hand in his and pressed a kiss to your knuckles. “Thank you, Frankie,” you said softly.
“I told you, mi sol, anything for you.”

Pairing: Frankie ‘Catfish’ Morales x Reader
Words: 2878 Notes: Thank you all for the love and reblogs. It took a few days but I finally got this done. I won’t lie when I saw the people who’d started following me, I may have fan-girled a bit. Just know I appreciate all the love, it truly couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m not going to say this is the end, but I also don’t want to make any promises.
Warnings: Cursing, mentions of violence, blood, and there’s still fluff in there, I promise!
Translations (if any of these are wrong, please feel free to correct me!) :  You're still too beautiful to be with him Back off, asshole, she's taken I’ll call you tomorrow, asshole Hermosa-Beautiful Mi Sol- My sun Mi alma- My soul
Summary: Day One- The Visit.
The morning passed without any more incidents, thank goodness, and Frankie was able to take a shower, get the rest of your stuff out of the SUV, and let the dogs out again before the guys got there. You were also able to make them some sandwiches and pack a cooler with beer, soda, and water for them to take down to the lake to fish. Once they’d shown up, Frankie formally introduced you and the dogs to Will and Benny because you all had yet to meet the brothers. You were just shaking Benny’s hand when Pope pushed past them and scooped you up into a hug, which you returned, wrapping your arms around his neck. He stage-whispered in your ear “Sigues siendo demasiado hermosa para estar con él,” causing you to laugh and you pulled back, patting his stubbled cheek.
“And you’re still as handsome as ever,” you responded with a wink, just as Frankie grumbled back at Pope “Retrocede, pendejo, ella está tomada,” and pulled you out of Pope’s arms back against his chest.
The men had joked and caught up a little, effortlessly bringing you into the conversation, and telling you some pretty embarrassing stories about your boyfriend before they decided to head out. Hell, they’d even asked you to come along. Pope had started back up with his picking on Frankie saying he was sure you’d catch more fish than Frankie, which had started up another round of insults. You turned them down though, telling them you’d much rather be lounging on the porch with the new book you’d gotten before you’d left home. You knew it would have been fun, even if it was just to watch them argue, but you’d already made up your mind.
Frankie lingered, cupping the back of your head as he stepped towards you, then pressed a kiss to your forehead. “You’re sure you don’t want to come?” he asked, pulling back to meet your eyes.
You reached out, slipping your fingers through his belt loops, and pulled him back to you, biting your lip as you watched him smirk. “I may have said the porch,” you started and then lowered your voice. “But what I really meant was that clawfoot bathtub.”
Frankie groaned and grabbed your face in his hands then pressed his lips to yours. Just as quickly as it started he pulled away and stepped back. “Fuck, Hermosa, you can’t just say shit like that.” He gave you an exasperated look all while shaking his head. Dropping his hands he turned, making it to the door before he looked over his shoulder at you and shook his head again when he saw your smile.
“I love you, baby,” you said sweetly, which turned into a laugh when he scoffed and walked out the door. But before it shut, he poked his head back inside, a brilliant smile on his face, dimples on full display. “And I love you too, mi sol,” he said with a wink, then shut the door behind him.
~*~
You didn’t lie to Frankie when you said you were going to lounge in the huge clawfoot tub and you did, for about an hour and half. You’d had to get the water hot again a few times but it was the most relaxed you’d been in weeks. Once you finally got out of the tub, you’d gotten dressed in the comfiest pajamas you’d brought with you and then moved out to the porch to lay on the huge lounge chair. You, Flex, and Marvin all cuddled together while you read. It was so peaceful that at some point you’d actually fallen asleep.
You must have been more tired than you’d thought because when you woke up it was dark outside. You checked your phone and saw it was only eight o’three at night and you’d gotten a few texts from Frankie. He’d let you know that the fishing had gone spectacularly horrible and none of them had caught a thing after two hours. He also let you know they’d gone on a hike and now they were going out to dinner before possibly going to a bar after that. The third text was a video of him and Pope saying they hoped that you were sleeping finally, and then Frankie said that he loved you, and that he’d see you later tonight. You sent off a few texts back to let him know he was right, that you hoped he was having fun, and that you loved him too.
You two texted back and forth a few times before you told him to put his phone away and enjoy his friends. After his playful response you waited a few minutes to make sure he wasn’t going to keep texting and then put your phone into your pocket.
Marvin was the first to notice you were awake and after a quick lick to the face he hopped down off the chair. Flex was a little slower but perked up when you asked if they wanted to go outside. A short walk later that Flex had thankfully been good for, the three of you headed back inside for dinner. You fed the boys and then made yourself a sandwich, then headed into the living room to curl up on the couch to watch tv. You were so happy that the host of the Airbnb you were in had stocked the fridge before you got there, it made your planned day of laziness possible.
Once you got your belly full, you must have drifted off again because the next thing you knew there was a knock at the door. Both dogs started barking, waking you up completely. After shushing them, you padded across the room to look out the peephole. You flipped on the outside light and opened the door with a frown. “What the hell?” you asked, the words tumbling out of your mouth before you could truly comprehend what was in front of you. You had to grab the dogs by their collars to pull them back inside as you took in the men in front of you.
Standing there pinching his nose with a few napkins with his head tilted back was a guilty looking Frankie, who had blood down the front of his shirt and one of his cheeks coming from a cut, and Pope who had a split lip and a cut in his eyebrow. They both looked rough and a little worse for wear.
“It looks a lot worse than it is, Hermosa,” Pope started before you could even get them inside. He reached back and gripped Frankie’s arm, leading him in and stopped so he could shut the door behind them.
“It looks like you both got punched in the face,” you retorted, sending Pope a look as you reached up to cup Frankie’s face. “Jesus, baby…” you breathed, your hand hovering over his cheek, your brow pinched in concern. “You hit harder,” Frankie said, dropping his eyes to yours to give you a wink, his voice was a little nasally due to him keeping pressure on his nose but you could hear the smile in it. He could be such a shit sometimes. You huffed and rolled your eyes at him but couldn’t help but smile. “I’m never going to live that down, am I? Let me see.”
Frankie shook his head a little before letting go slowly with a wince and you watched as he slowly lowered his head. There was a damn good chance he’d have two black eyes because of the hit if the slight bruising was any indication, but at least it looked like his nose had stopped bleeding. “What the hell happened to you two?” You asked again, finally unable to hold back any longer, eyes bouncing between your boyfriend and his best friend.
“There were these guys,” Pope started, eyeing Frankie like it was the first time he’d seen him in the light. “And they were being really handsy with the waitress at the bar…” “And Benny politely asked them to stop, because all of us could tell she didn’t like the attention and they didn’t take kindly to being told no,” Frankie finished.
“When two of them went after Benny after he’d had enough, Will jumped in, and Frankie and I tried to break it up but then more jumped in and the next thing we knew it was an all out brawl and then we were being pulled apart by the bouncers. We hadn’t even gotten our beers, before they kicked us out.”
“The bouncers made sure nothing happened outside and that we all went our separate ways,” Frankie assured you, going to pull you in before he remembered just how bloody he still was and stopped. Instead, he tucked you into his side. “I dropped Benny and Will off at the hotel to cool down and then brought this asshole home,” Pope said, tilting his head towards Frankie, who reached out to backhand his shoulder, causing Pope to grunt.
You shook your head at their antics and looked to Pope, taking stock in his injuries. “Did you need any first aid stuff?”
“Nah, hermosa, I’m good.” He reached out and pulled you out of Frankie's arms and into a quick hug before he pulled away and headed towards the door. “Just take care of him.” He smiled at you over his shoulder and then met Frankie’s eyes. “Te llamo maana, gilipollas.”
Frankie grumbled giving Pope the finger before the door shut behind the other man. Once you two were alone he met your eyes and his softened at the worry in yours. “I’m alright, mi sol,” he whispered, reaching out to tuck a stray strand of hair behind your ear.
You leaned into the contact and lifted a hand to grip his wrist to keep his rough hand on your cheek. “You don’t look alright, Frankie,” you argued, but there was no heat in your voice. He didn’t have an answer to that so you just shook your head. “Here, let's get this off and then we’ll get you cleaned up.”
You helped him out of his shirt and then the two of you went into the bathroom after your detour to the kitchen for paper towels. The last thing you needed was to get blood all over the towels here. That would just set off a whole round of questions you didn’t want to have to answer and you definitely wanted to avoid that all together.
Frankie closed the lid on the toilet and sat, just watching while you got everything you needed in order on the sink.  He smirked as he watched the dogs realize just how cramped it was with all four of you there before leaving to go lay on the bed to watch.
“You’re staring,” you chided, looking at him out of the corner of your eye.
“I can’t help it…” He reached out, gripping your arm and pulled you to stand between his legs. “It’s not my fault you’re still as beautiful as the day I met you.”
“And you’re still quite the charmer,” you responded looking down at him while he curled his hands around your thighs.
The day you’d met Frankie had been a weird one. You had just broken up with your current boyfriend and had decided to go out with one of your single friends. You hadn’t exactly been upset about it because the guy had been a real asshole once you’d really gotten to know him, but still. Break ups sucked. And honestly, you had gotten tired of wallowing at home as you debated on eating ice cream and watching sappy movies. So, instead you’d gone out to a local bar around the corner from your place with Jen and gotten more than just a little tipsy.  You had been right in the middle of a story when you threw your arm out at the same time as Frankie was walking by… And you hit him square in the nose with the hand holding your glass of beer.
You had apologized profusely, especially when it took forever to get his nose to stop bleeding. He’d laughed it off, saying it was no big deal but in your tipsy state you invited him over so you could get the blood out of his shirt and he could clean up in a bathroom that was a hell of a lot cleaner than the one here.
When he actually took you up on it, you said goodnight to Jen who just waggled her eyebrows at you and walked with Frankie less than a block to your house. You hadn’t been able to get all the blood out of his shirt, but you had been able to clean him up, getting to know each other as you did. He’d stayed for hours after that, hanging out on your couch with Flex’s head in his lap as he rubbed the big guys head absently while you talked.
He’d been honest with you about his drug use and how he’d been clean for the last two months. And who were you to judge? You’d done your own stupid shit in the past and at least he was being open and honest with you from the start. (Even better, you’d known he’d been clean since you’d been together because he was having random drug tests at work and every one had come back clean so far.)
When the sun came up he’d said he had to leave because Marvin was probably freaking out, but you two had exchanged numbers with the promise you’d do this -hopefully without the violence- again soon. He left with only a hug and even after the great time you’d had, you didn’t want to get your hopes up that you’d ever hear from him again. It had to be too good to be true, right?
Only you did, five minutes later, when he called you and asked you out to dinner that night. He’d said, “I want to do this right, Hermosa, go out with me tonight?”
You’d said yes, of course, and truly the rest was history. You’d spent almost all of your time together and life with Frankie was never boring. Between the random trips, surprised outings, and then just the nights in making out on your couch or his while you both ignored the movie you’d put on, you’d fallen more and more in love with him.
Frankie brought you back to the present by rubbing his hands up and down the backs of your thighs. “You know I’m really okay, right, mi sol?” he asked softly.
You smiled down at him, and nodded as you gently wiped away the blood. “I know,” you responded, lifting your eyes to his dark ones and shrugged one shoulder. “I still don’t like seeing you hurt.”
“I know, mi alma,” he said sincerely, pulling you in closer and resting his forehead on your belly.
You dropped the paper towels on the counter and slid your fingers into his hair, scratching lightly at his scalp. You weren’t really sure what to say to that, especially when he’d pulled out that pet name for you. He didn’t say it often but when he did, you melted like butter. “Let’s get you some ice for your face,” you suggested. He groaned against your belly but nodded.
When he straightened and stood you had to take a step back, but his arms around you didn’t let you get too far away from him. He leaned down, pressing his lips to yours twice before he pulled back. “Thank you,” he whispered and kissed you again gently.
Your arms slid up his bare chest to cup the back of his neck. “We’ve got to stop meeting like this, baby.” You chuckled when he pinched your side.
“I’ll have you know, both times it was not my fault.”
You pulled back so he could see you roll your eyes and then stepped out of his arms. “Come on, Morales.”
~*~
Frankie had kissed you and pulled you down on the couch with him to stop you from starting to fuss over him. He’d sat at one end and had you lay down, putting your head on a pillow he’d put on his lap, with one of his arms draped over you. His other hand carefully pushed the hair out of your face before he’d started to run his fingers through it, thoroughly relaxing you.
With a hum you opened your eyes to see him smiling down at you. You returned his smile and then turned your head towards his belly as you snuggled into him. Moments like these with Frankie were your favorite, it didn’t matter whether you were on the couch, in the bed of his truck, or even on a blanket in the middle of a field somewhere. It didn’t matter where it was, as long as you were together.
You still felt him staring at you so you pulled away to meet his eyes. He was still smiling so you knew it wasn’t something bad. “What?” you asked, drawing out the word, when he didn’t say anything.
“Move in with me, mi sol.”

The Road-Trip Part Three
Tumblr media
Part Two | Masterlist | Part Four
Rating: T+
Pairing: Frankie ‘Catfish’ Morales x Reader
Words: 2614
Notes: Just another massive THANK YOU to everyone who is reblogging and liking this story. It’s super late here but I finally finished this. I’ve still got at least one more planned but we’ll see if I get another snow day. But again, thankyouthankyouthankyou! <3
All mistakes are still mine.
Warnings: Nightmares (nothing graphic or talked about), angst/hurt, comfort, cursing, and still a bit (okay, quite a bit) of fluff
Summary: You’re finally at your destination with Frankie and you get a night alone before he’s supposed to go out with the guys.
It was close to midnight when Frankie rubbed your arm gently as he whispered your name in an attempt to wake you once again. You blinked over at him and lifted your hand to cover his, smiling sleepily. “Hmm?” “We’re here,” he said, tipping his head to the left towards the Airbnb you two had rented for the long weekend, his smile coming a lot easier than it had when you’d left the convenience store.
You and Frankie had thought about getting a hotel, but with the dogs you both knew a place with a yard would be better for them. You’d finally found one that was a little pricey but was a pet friendly, riverfront cabin and it was close enough to where the other guys were staying that traveling wouldn’t be an issue. Even better, it looked just as cute in person as it had in the photos.
You gripped Frankie’s hand and brought it up to kiss his knuckles. “I can get the bags, if you get the dogs,” you offered and watched him roll his eyes. “What?” you asked, unable to hold back your laugh because you knew you’d been caught. You both knew that Flex would be completely full of himself for at least the first ten minutes and the only one who wouldn’t get drug around was Frankie. Neither of the dogs were used to having a yard as big as this one, so it was possible they’d both be a handful.
“Just get the one closest to the door and their bag. That’s all we need right now, and I can bring in the rest in the morning.” Frankie gave your hand a squeeze as he shook his head, his own smile threatening to break through. “I’ll let them get some energy out before we crash.”
You nodded, reaching over the console and ran your fingers down his stubbled cheek. “I’ll see you inside.”
~*~
You were just finishing up brushing your teeth when you heard the front door open quickly followed by the click of nails and Frankie’s boots on the hardwood floor. You peeked your head around the door frame when you heard them come closer. “Bathrooms free,” you announced as the dogs walked past you in search of their bowls.
Frankie shrugged off his jacket and tossed it and his hat onto a chair, not stopping until he’d reached you. He pulled you into a hug, leaning down enough to press his face into your neck. Your arms automatically came up to hold him close, one of your hands cupping the back of his head as your fingers tangled into his hair. “Everything okay?” you asked gently.
He hummed an affirmative and nodded against your neck. “Just missed this.”
A smile broke out across your lips and you hugged him tighter. “So, me drooling on you for the last two hours wasn’t enough for you?”
He huffed a laugh, pulling back so he could meet your eyes. “Never,” he said with a smile that lit up his dark eyes. His hands slipped under your shirt, just enough that his thumbs brushed against the skin just above your shorts. “And I never get tired of seeing you in my clothes.”
“You’re insatiable, Morales,” you said, with a shake of your head, lips twitching as you held back your smile.
He lifted a hand to tilt your chin up with two fingers, his own smile firmly in place. He leaned in just close enough you could feel his lips brush against yours as he spoke. “It’s your fault,” he teased, pulling back a little, his smile growing when you chased his lips, before he gave in and kissed you. The grip he had on your hips tightened as you deepened the kiss and he grunted into your mouth as your fingers fisted in his hair.
It was always so easy to get carried away when it came to him, but before it could go too far you pulled back, eyes closed as you fought to catch your breath. “I’ll take full responsibility for that,” you said breathlessly, finally opening your eyes to meet his heated stare. “But I really do need to…” You were cut off when you yawned and Frankie groaned out a laugh and pressed his face back into your neck. He wasn’t angry or even upset, he never was if you told him you didn’t want things to go further. You had just added that onto your list of reasons why you were in love with him.
You squeaked in surprise when his hands dropped to the backs of your thighs and he lifted you off the ground to carry you the short distance to the bed. He unceremoniously dropped you onto the soft mattress, your laughter mixing with his as you pulled him down with you. And then there were two more bodies on the bed with you both, pushing at the two of you with their noses making sure you were both alright, which just made you laugh even harder.
Frankie pushed himself up and out of the tangle of limbs and paws to stand beside the bed, dodging the continued assault like a pro and pointed at the three of you. “Don’t move, hermosa, and you guys make sure of it,” he ordered playfully with a wink as he walked backwards towards the door. He huffed when Marvin jumped down to follow him. “Alright, Flex, I’m counting on you, buddy.” And with that said he turned around and left the room.
With a shake of your head you shimmied the blankets down so you could actually get under them before he got back. Flex waited patiently for you to get settled before he laid his head on your belly for a scratch, which you did while you waited for Frankie to come back. You knew he was triple checking the locks and windows, a habit you were extremely thankful for, especially when you were now in the middle of nowhere. It didn’t take him long before he was back in the room and stripping down to his boxers. He flipped off the lights and slipped under the covers, successfully getting both dogs to lay at the foot of the bed -sort of-, as you curled around him. He wrapped his arm around you and kissed you softly when you tilted your head up to meet his eyes.
“I love you, mi sol,” he whispered in the darkness, his thumb caressing your arm through the fabric of his shirt.
“I love you too, Frankie,” you whispered back, pressing a kiss to his bare chest. It didn’t take long for his breath to even out and you weren’t very far behind him, the lack of sleep and exhaustion finally catching up with you.
~~*~~
You woke to a groan and Frankie’s arm trying to move out from under you. It took you a few seconds to realize he was having another nightmare. Shit. When he shifted a little more aggressively you sat up quickly, getting out of the way and just started talking. “Frankie, baby, wake up,” you said a little louder than normal. You’d always been taught to never wake someone up from a nightmare, but you knew that Frankie would never forgive himself if he hurt you and with the way he had started flailing the last few times this had happened it had already come close.  “It’s okay, I’m right here.” You risked pushing against his shoulder when just your words didn’t wake him up and the moment you made contact he shot up, grabbed your arm, his eyes sharp and stared straight at you, his body tense like he was ready to spring at any moment.
You couldn’t help the gasp at the sudden movement but you quickly pushed any fear you had away that he’d hurt you and rubbed your thumb against the skin of his chest above his pounding heart. “Baby,” you whispered. “It’s me. You’re okay. You were dreaming...”
It could have taken just a few seconds but to you it felt like hours until he blinked slowly a few times, recognition slowly coming back into his gaze. And then you felt his body relax slightly under your palm along with his grip, but his heart was still beating much too fast for your liking. “Fuck,” he rasped. “You look… shit, did I hurt you? Please tell me I-“
“You didn’t hurt me!” You interrupted quickly, your voice soft as you scooted closer to him to cup his cheek after you pulled your arm out of his hand. His eyes dropped, unable to meet yours, and you could see the anger at himself along with embarrassment creeping in. “Look at me, Frankie.” You dipped your head in an attempt to see his eyes.
Slowly he lifted them and met yours again, the doubt of what you’d said written all over his face. “It’s okay. You’re okay. I’m okay… I promise.” You leaned in, brushing your lips against his once, twice, three times before he kissed you back. He pulled away enough to press your foreheads together and let out a breath as he relaxed even more.
“You’re really okay?” he asked and you nodded against him.
“Yes, baby, I’m really okay.”
You leaned away, never breaking the eye contact he was actually giving you now as you started to lay back, pulling him with you as you went. He settled between your legs, positioning himself to lay his head on your chest, and slipped both hands under your shirt, his rough fingers rubbing your sides. You knew he needed the physical reminder that you were still there, that you weren’t afraid of him, and that you still loved him enough to let him touch you.
You were sure he didn’t believe that you were okay and you knew it would take a while to get whatever he’d dreamed about out of his head. So, you let it be. You didn’t ask questions he wouldn’t want to answer, instead you just ran your fingers through his hair and down his back as far as you could reach, letting your love for him show through your touch.
You two laid like that with the dogs surrounding you, not speaking, until you saw the first sliver of light break in the sky. It would only be a few hours from now before the guys showed up for their first day. They’d planned to go fishing since you and Frankie had gotten a place so close to the river and then they’d head to town to see what kind of trouble they could get into.
While Frankie had been the one to invite you, you had told him you weren’t going to get in the way of what they would do if you weren’t there. This was their weekend and you had downloaded plenty of books and movies, along with a few tv shows, that would keep you busy the whole time. He had rolled his eyes at you and told you that the guys wouldn’t mind but you were adamant. You knew that the group didn’t get together often and you wanted Frankie to be able to be with his friends and not feel guilty for leaving you behind to do that or feel like he needed to entertain you and ignore the people he was there to see in the first place.
You were absolutely fine with being at the little cabin and close enough that if he needed you, you could be there instead of over the phone. Plus, it was good to just get away and you needed it as much as he did, work had been hell lately and you definitely needed a break from it.
What he didn’t know was that you’d booked one extra day for just the two of you, that way he could show you all the things he’d seen while he was with his friends. Though, you wouldn’t object if he just wanted to stay in bed the whole time.
“You want me to go make some coffee?” You asked, voice slightly rough from lack of use.
“Time is it?” Frankie asked, his voice muffled against your shirt.
You glanced around the room and once you realized there wasn’t a clock you grabbed your phone instead, trying not to move more than you had to. “Early enough we can eat breakfast and get showers before the guys get here to take you fishing.” You held out the phone so he could see the time and he groaned a little, scooted down and pressed his face into your belly.
You cupped the back of his head with one hand while your other stroked the part of his cheek that was exposed as your smile grew. “It’s up to you, baby.”
He laid there for another moment, then finally nodded. “I could eat.”
“Then let’s go see if there’s anything in the fridge or if we’ll be eating those poptarts I picked up last night,” you said, your grin widening when he actually chuckled. And once again the vice that had tightened back up just a few hours ago eased.
~*~
Frankie took the dogs out while you went to the kitchen and got the coffee brewing and got their bowls full. By the time he got back, you had his coffee made just the way he liked it and were at the stove cooking some of the eggs and bacon you’d found in the fridge.
When he came back into the kitchen he leaned over and pressed a kiss to your temple as he picked up his coffee. It was a bit more distant than he was normally, and you started to worry that the fifteen minutes outside had been just enough time for him to get back into his head. “Want me to get the toast?”
You glanced over at him with a smile and nodded, but reached out to grab his arm before he could turn away. “Frankie?”
“Yeah, babe?” He asked, his eyebrow raised as he put his coffee cup back on the counter.
You pulled his arm and he came to you, a frown now on his face. When he was right in front of you, you reached up and cupped his cheek, getting up on your toes to press your lips to his. It took him a moment but then he was kissing you back, his lips soft and undemanding against your own. When you dropped back down he followed you, pressing his forehead to yours as he nudged your nose with his.
“I love you, Francisco Morales,” you whispered. You didn’t want him to start pulling away or even think he had to after last night. You were now sure he’d gotten into his own head and from personal experience, you knew how toxic that could end up being.
He let out a shaky breath, nodding absently. “I know, mi sol, I know…” His hands came up to cup your cheeks as he leaned away, like he knew you needed to see his face. “And I love you,” he said, a hesitant smile came over his lips before he pressed them against yours again… Until you smelled something burning.
“Shit!” you pulled back, turning quickly and slid the pans off the burners and cut them off just as a laugh bubbled out of Frankie. “Shut up,” you said with absolutely no heat, side eyeing him.
“I didn’t say a word, hermosa,” he said, still chuckling as he came up behind you to wrap his arms around your middle. “But don’t worry, I’ll take full responsibility for that.”

The Road-Trip Part Two
Tumblr media
Part One | Masterlist | Part Three
Rating: T +
Pairing: Frankie Catfish Morales x Reader
Notes: I guess you can call me inspired? All the support, likes, reblogs, and tags that make me tear up I’ve gotten the last few days mean so much to me. So thankyouthankyouthankyou.
Warnings: Mentions of death (briefly), cursing, and still a bit (okay, quite a bit) of fluff, comfort
Summary:  A continuation of The Road-Trip, with a little more insight to the couple and maybe a bit of a surprise.
You woke with a start, an apology tumbling out before you were even truly awake.
“Don’t be sorry, hermosa,” Frankie said, lifting a hand to curl around the back of your neck, keeping your head pressed to his arm. “Didn’t mean to scare you.” The words were muffled against the top of your head as he pressed a kiss to it while you yawned against his arm.
When you finally pulled away, he was the one to lean in, tilting his head so he wouldn’t bump your forehead with his baseball cap as he pressed his lips to yours. “I was just about to fill up and was trying not to wake you,” he said, huffing a laugh. “It didn’t exactly go as smoothly as I’d planned.” His voice and smile were sheepish when you pulled back to meet his dark eyes.
You couldn’t help but run your fingers down his cheek as you chuckled. “That’s okay, baby. Really.” You weren't exactly sleeping well, if you were being honest. It was why you’d woken so quickly when he’d tried to move. With the nightmares he’d had lately, you’d been staying up with him when it was too hard for him to go back to sleep. He’d scared the hell out of you the first time it happened, but you’d stayed up with him until the sun started coming through the windows and he was finally able to fall back to sleep. The second time it happened, he actually opened up. He’d paced the whole time, unable to sit still and even make eye contact with you. But the only thing that mattered to you was that he’d told you what had happened in South America, how he’d lost a good friend.
That was the night you told him you loved him for the first time. You’d been feeling it for a while, but the fact that he trusted you with that secret? It only cemented the fact that you were absolutely in love with him. He’d been in such disbelief that you could love him after all of that, it had taken all night to convince him. And once you did, he’d held on to you, not letting you go for hours. He woke you up that morning with sweet, chaste kisses until you’d opened your eyes and then asked you, “will you say it again?” You’d smiled and breathed the words against his lips as his arms tightened around you. He’d pulled back enough to meet your eyes, one side of his mouth quirking up just a little when he said those three words back to you. You actually called into work that morning, just so you could stay with him for the rest of the day, making love and just being.
“If you want,” he started, breaking you out of your thoughts, “I can go get us some coffee once I’m done filling up.”
Somehow in the short amount of time that you’d been asleep he’d found civilization and coffee. “I can go inside,” you offered. “Do you want something other than coffee?” You asked as you rolled your shoulders trying to work out the kinks you’d gotten by leaning over that bulky console in your attempt to be closer to him while you’d slept. It was worth it though.
He looked like he was about to argue that he could go, but instead he nodded. “Maybe something to snack on?”
“Okay,” you said, running your fingers down his arm as you got out and went inside. After you’d used their restroom, you paid for what you’d found and came back out to meet him. You couldn’t help how your smile grew when you saw Marvin leaning against Frankie’s leg, while Flex lounged in the back end of the SUV, his head perking up once he saw you.
You and Frankie both adopted dogs before you’d met, from the same shelter just about a week apart. Marvin was a six year old black Labrador Retriever and was Frankie’s best friend, next to Pope. He was easy going and playful, just like Frankie. They were perfect for each other. You’d known it from the first time you’d seen them asleep on your couch together, with Flex curled up by Frankie’s feet.
Flex was your baby. He was a seven year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier and he was absolutely solid. When he’d looked up at you with those eyes in his kennel you were a goner, they were brown, for the most part, except one of them was half icy blue. You were just a sucker for brown eyes apparently. It didn’t matter that when you took him for a walk he was the one walking you, it was honestly like being pulled by a horse. He’d gotten better, but it was still easier for Frankie to take his leash when you all went walking or were out somewhere. And Marvin and Flex went with you both everywhere you could get away with.
It had taken Marvin more time to get used to you than it had for Flex and Frankie. He was a little skittish from his time in the shelter but once he got to know you, it was hard to get him to stop snuggling. He’d actually pushed Frankie off the bed three nights ago in an attempt to get closer to you. Your lips turned up in a smile at the memory of Frankie blinking up at you blearily on the floor with a look of utter confusion as to how he’d gotten there. Flex had jumped down to make sure he was okay and you weren’t able to hold back your laugh as he gently pushed the dog away as he tried to get up, but Flex being Flex was being overly helpful, which just made it even funnier when attempt after attempt was thwarted by kisses and nuzzles.
“Did they go already?” you asked, placing everything beside Flex as he stood to give you a sloppy kiss. You rubbed his head, sending that smile over your shoulder at Frankie as he responded. “Yeah,” he said, eyes narrowing as he gave Marvin’s head a scratch before he came up behind you, slipping his arms around your middle. “What’s with the smile, hermosa?” You shook your head as you placed your hands over his and pressed a kiss to his cheek just as Marvin came over to lean against your leg. You dropped a hand, rubbing at his head absently as you leaned back against Frankie. “No reason,” you said, your smile still firmly in place. “I got the boys a treat.” You pulled out the jerky you’d found and gave a piece to each dog.
“You keep spoiling them and they’re both going to start loving you more,” Frankie said before he nipped at your neck playfully. You couldn’t help the shudder than ran through you at the feel of it.
“Shit,” you breathed the words and reached up to cup the back of his head, just keeping him there for a moment longer. His lips felt good against your neck, but you were quickly reminded you weren’t alone when Marvin pressed his wet nose to your hand. “Babe,” you warned, turning in Frankie’s arms. “Not here and I definitely need more sleep before we…”
He lifted his hand, cupping your jaw, his thumb rubbing just under your eye where you knew the dark circles were starting to form. He looked a little worried but instead of letting it consume him, you turned and placed a kiss to his palm. You could already see the doubt creeping in and you knew you had to stop it before it got worse. “I’m okay,” you assured him. “I’ll sleep all day tomorrow while you go out with the boys, I promise.”
He frowned, but leaned in to press your foreheads together under the brim of his hat. “I love you,” he said, running his nose along yours. “I just… I know you’re worried about me but you can’t-You have to take care of you too, Mi sol. I’d never forgive myself if…”
“If nothing,” you said firmly. “I’m not going anywhere and I love you too.”
He stood there for a moment, just breathing you in, and then nodded. You pressed your lips together in a soft kiss, your hand coming up to caress his cheek. “We’re okay, Frankie.”
“Okay.”

The Road-Trip Part One
Tumblr media
Masterlist | Part Two
Rating: T
Pairing: Frankie Catfish Morales x Reader
Notes: First, I’ve never done this. Not on my own and definitely not anything I’ve put out in the world for everyone to read. Be gentle? Second, I just hope I came close to cannon. And third, this is set after the movie and let’s pretend Frankie’s wife and baby never really happened.
No beta, so all mistakes are mine.
Warnings: Mentions of death (briefly), cursing, and a bit (okay, quite a bit) of fluff
Summary:  100 Ways To Say “I Love You” Prompt:  “Pull over.  Let me drive for awhile.”
You were tired, more tired than you cared to admit. You had been driving for the last five hours without stopping and the heated seats only helped a little with the soreness. It didn’t help that it had gotten dark two hours ago and the road you’d been on had been nothing but road and desert for miles. You jerked in surprise when a large hand slid over your thigh, your eyes quickly meeting Frankie’s before they went back to watching the road. “Hey, you sleep okay?” you asked, glancing back to him for just a moment. In your peripheral you saw him bring his seat back up, never moving his hand from your thigh. “Yeah,” he said, voice still thick with sleep, but you could hear the smile in it as well. “No dreams?” you asked, glancing at him again. They’d been happening more and more the closer the anniversary had gotten to Tom’s death. The last time  he’d gotten together with his team, the last time the friends had all seen each other, had been at the funeral for their fallen friend. That was until… Two hours from now, if the GPS was right.
Frankie squeezed your leg gently, pulling you out of your thoughts. Shit.
“Hmm?”
“No dreams,” he confirmed with a frown, the smile you’d heard completely gone now. Which probably meant he’d said it more than once. “You good?”
“Me? Yeah, why?” you asked, your eyes bouncing between him and the road. You dropped a hand from the wheel to place it over his and squeezed in reassurance, as you gave him the best smile you could muster.
“Alright… Pull over. Let me drive for a while.” “What? No, babe. Really. I can keep…” You trailed off when he interrupted.
“Please, Hermosa,” he said softly, removing his hand from your thigh to cup the back of your head. Between the quiet request and the gentle caress, that was all it took for you to cave.
“Okay,” you said, your eyes never leaving the road as you leaned into his touch.
There were no other cars around, so you maneuvered your way to the side of the road and put it in park. You dropped your head back against the headrest and then turned to look at the man who you’d given your heart to. You could just make out his features in the dim lights of the console and he did look better. Definitely more rested than he had all week. You on the other hand…
He leaned over the center console, cupping your cheeks in his rough hands and pressed a kiss to your forehead. Your eyes drifted closed without your permission as he breathed against your skin, “switch me spots, Mi sol,” and you nodded.
He met you in front of the rental SUV and wrapped you up in his arms just long enough you almost fell asleep. It would have been easy with his warmth and his cologne surrounding you but then he was pulling away and leading you to the passenger seat, like he knew you wouldn’t move if he didn’t make you. He shut the door behind you and you watched him jog back the way he’d come. Then he was sliding into the driver's seat and pushing the seat back so he wasn’t so cramped.
You elbowed him when you saw his lips twitch. “Don’t even say it,” you warned playfully, which caused him to give you the smile you’d been waiting to see all week, and the vice that had been around your chest eased a little more.
Once he was settled you leaned over the console to lay your head against his shoulder, pressing a lingering kiss against it. In return, he placed a kiss to the top of your head and draped his hand over your thigh. “Try and get some sleep, Hermosa, we should be there in a few more hours.” And with one more kiss he got the SUV back onto the road.
