This is by far the most unfaithful 'redesign' I've done so far. But that being said, I don't call myself a butcher for no reason.

I don't enjoy how TNR brings back dragons from the original series, as it's set far, far into the future the fact that those species still exist and are practically unchanged is well, weird to me. The fact that NIGHTLIGHTS still exist is also extremely odd to me, as they are a hybrid species they should be long gone due to the fact that Nightfuries have been long extinct (Toothless is an outlier).

This redesign is mainly just me having fun tbh. That's what most of my redesigns are. it's less what the og could've done better and more what I would find more interesting as a concept. There's quite a few tidal class dragons in the HTTYD franchise, yet there's not really any that are a 'main rider dragon.' This is one part appreciating Tidal class dragons and one part an ode to the book series.

The cross between Fire and Electricity

Warm Light and White light are the first varients there where at begining of the Light Element's life, Warm light is the standard varient of Light and White Light being the "purest" varient, much like how Purple Ice and Blue Fire are concidered pure varients of their respective elements.

After a few years past, and dragons of different elements pairing up with Light dragons, there where eventualy 2 new varients created, those being Cool Light and Black Light. Cool Light came to be from an Ice dragon and a Light dragon pairing and creating new colder varient of Light. Then theres Black Light, which is a Dark Varient first discovered when a Light Dragon had a child with a Dark Dragon, If Light crosses with any of the Dark Elements theres a large chance that the chuld will be of Black Light

The structure of Light can be changed, simaler to how Ice can be shifted from a frost to an icicle. Light can be exhaled as a cluster of "soft" Light that works simaler to wind or fire, able to push an opponent back depending on the mastery and harshnes in which Light was used. Light also has a "layzer" form that can burn holes and tear through skin (with the warm varient being able to coterize wounds)

Here a piece i made for Halloween of 2023!! Kayama and Toshinori have had a few design edits, mostly just horn changes on Toshinori and color changes wit Kayama (She looks the exact same in the main piece, but i mde her more blue :])

Blood is the corruption of Water through Dark Magic

Candy red blood imits the most oder of iron to an overwhelming degree, while black blood is the stickiest & thickest with a faster clotting speed. Deep red blood is the more neutral variant, though it's the easiest to affect others' blood systems (that doesnt mean they other two variants have a low chance, its just since deep red is the closest to normal blood that makes the manipulation of another's body easier)

With higher mastery, any dragon/drake can suck and use others' blood from the capillaries closest to the surface of one's scales (which is understandablly painful), and at around Savant and over a dragon/drake can rupture blood vessels, cause brain aneurysms and rupture organs withough having to touch another creature

Blood dragons can use puddles of blood to teleport around (so these dudes make a hella mess when they get into fights)

The percentages on the varients indicate an estimated amount of dragons with the Blood element (a bit tricky to aply to those with quirks). So out of all Blood dragons, 50% have the neutral Deep Red varient, 40% have the Candy Red varient, and 10% have the Black varient.

On my sad bitch hours with this one /jjjj This is a scene in the same are as the doodle page with Endeavor, Shoto, Momo and Shirakumo! The audio used fit basically to a t T with the scene depicted so i had to make an animatic with it!

While the pmv never left the sketch stage, i ended up making formal wear concepts for Aizawa and Shirakumo that i could reference!
