Reposting from twitter. I tried to make a cover for a not crack fic but then I realized this is the fic (and it’s comments) that I consistently come back to when I need a laugh. Also don’t ask me how long this took given how weird the text placement still is.
Read the fic here.

Get What You Wish For / George Harrison x Reader
pairing: 1969 george harrison x reader
summary: reader bumps into george after years of time apart and reveals to him after a few drinks they’re still not over him.
warnings: alcohol consumption
word count: 1229

When you arrived at Paul and Linda’s you knew there was no avoiding him. You’d come with the man you’d been seeing named Charlie, but you only had eyes for one man and unfortunately that was George. You and George had spent two years together until you broke things off in 1967. There was never anytime for the two of you to see each other and you started to feel like you were in a one way relationship. It has been two years since then and over those years you had bumped into George a few times, and every time you saw him it became harder to go on without him in your life.
You don’t have the courage to go up to him straight away, though you spy him from across the room. Instead, you down two champagne glasses and work up a false sense of confidence

warnings: mentions of alcohol, drunk people and drugs
word count: 3259

It was the night of the Sgt. Pepper’s release and a few people had been invited round to Brian Epstein’s house during the day for some press and also just to celebrate. You were so proud of the boys work on this album, and you could tell that they were proud as well. There was just an air of happiness and excitement surrounding the boys today and you were so glad to see this after the stress you saw them under during the making of the album. They always worry too much, but you always know that anything they do will be amazing.

Me trying to explain to any person within 10 feet of me how Eric Clapton is a narcissist who manipulated his way into being ranked amongst history’s greatest guitar players by attaching himself like a leech to other talented artists for short periods of time throughout his career, while actually having the playing style and creativity level of one of those YouTube guitar tutorial guys with video titles like “HOW TO PLAY STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN *EXACTLY* LIKE JIMMY PAGE IN THREE EASY STEPS—PART 1” and then to watch parts 2 & 3 you have to subscribe to his Patreon.

Reblogging for that trucker, hero of all fangirls and fanboys around the world

“When we arrived in Sydney it was pissing down with rain. We got off the plane and they put The Beatles on the back of a flat-back truck so the crowd could see them. They were carrying umbrellas and wearing the capes made in Hong Kong. The driver was doing one mile an hour, and John kept leaning over and saying, ‘Faster, faster!’ but he wouldn’t go any faster. I was saying, ‘Go faster - it’s pouring down,’ and he said, ‘These kids have been waiting here for twenty-four hours to see these guys.’
“Nothing was going to make this big Australian trucker go any faster. By the time they got to the hotel everybody was blue because the dye in the capes had run and soaked right through; they all looked like old Celtic warriors covered in blue dye.”
[Neil Aspinall, Anthology]

Happy Fanfic Writer Friday! Do you write your rough drafts directly on tumblr, or do you write on google docs beforehand? And do you have any tips for new writers?
Hi!
I prefer to write on a google docs or a word file, just because I’m irrationally afraid of misclicking and posting something unfinished on accident.
Tips for new writers : I know this has been said time and time again, but just write. Don’t be afraid of mediocrity, enjoy yourself, make yourself at home in your fanfic. Self-project onto the characters and situations! As a perfectionist, I find that burn-out happens when I start worrying too much about the quality of my writing instead of just writing and enjoying the process. As a new writer, you don’t have to be good, you just have to love the writing process, and the quality will come along !
Also, here is some wisdom for you : very often a piece of writing is better than its author thinks it is. Self-criticism is not your enemy, but too much of it is counterproductive. If you are getting frustrated over a piece and feel like you are not quite happy with the result despite having worked hard on it, ask a friend/more experienced writer to beta read ! This might a)help you improve the piece and b) make you see the good in it by shifting your focus.
