bang on.
no that’s the thing that really gets me about kyo is how his arc is sooooo non-linear and really reflects the unpredictability of his character. a lot of what makes him so interesting is how he doesn’t just Get Better each episode. he’s very push and pull—one step forward, three steps back.
he has consistent moments of growth over time, but he also constantly falls back into old coping mechanisms and habits. then he’ll have a breakthrough, but then he’ll be so terrified of having a breakthrough (and maybe actually feeling happy for) once that he starts self sabotaging & ends up feeling and behaving worse than before.
for example, it’s always been very striking to me that true form is one of his biggest moments in the story—and yet, that’s not even his arc’s biggest climax. for me, it’s actually the moment his arc truly starts unfolding and building towards its most engaging & complex moments. by the time beach arc rolls around, he has healed and grown a lot. he’s feeling accepted & good for the first time in his life and falling for tohru in such an easy, relaxed way. but when he’s faced with his confinement and later the knowledge that tohru could potentially reciprocate his feelings, he slams on the breaks.
post-beach arc, kyo has chilled out a lot, gets along with others better, and has grown much closer to tohru by trusting her and letting her depend on him, too. he’s doing better than ever before, but he simultaneously gives up on his life and being with tohru. so you have this insane contrast where he’s come so far, is MILES more mature and emotionally open than he was when we first met him, and is honestly at his best from an objective outward perspective? but he’s also never felt worse, has given up on his life and future, and is constantly in distress/emotional turmoil.
throughout the second act, kyo’s development is more subtle and does not occur in a straightforward, predictable way at all—but i think that’s what makes his character so special. it’s brilliant how we’re shown kyo who is both so sure and confident in his feelings for tohru and honestly in himself as well, as he finally develops a sense of belonging in his life through the people he cares about and has started to actively make changes to heal and become a better person. and yet, he is falling apart with self-hatred, lashing out and ultimately on a path towards completely withdrawing from his life.
ugh it’s just the contradictory nature of kyo building a life and a potential future for himself that excites him and makes him happy—while still self sabotaging at every turn because he wants to give up but he can’t actually give up. he has a future, but he rejects it because of the past that weighs him down so heavily. and that ends up more harmful, more toxic and self-defeating, than his actual past mistakes ever were. not to get redundant, but this is what makes kyo so compelling!!! like he grows so much but he also fucks up!! and you’re so invested because you just want him to Get It Right!!!! and he definitely doesn’t get it right all the time, and that’s why it hits so hard when he does. FUCK

Erawan Museum - Bangkok, Thailand
Erawan Museum is a beautiful museum in Samut Prakan Province, Thailand.
It is well known for its giant three-headed elephant art sculpture as exterior. The three storeys inside the elephant contain antiquities and priceless collections of ancient religious objects belonging to Khun Lek Viriyapant, who is the museum owner.
The giant elephant is the first and biggest hand-carved sculpture in the world. It is considered an important tourist attraction as well as a holy shrine for many believers.
Erawan Museum started construction 1994 and has opened for the public since 2013.
The weight of the elephant's body is 150 tons, and the elephant's head weights 100 tons. Every single copper sheet totaling in a hundred thousands sheets were slowly plated on with care and craftsmanship.
The interior of the museum is divided into three main floors according to the Hindu representation of the universe, which consists of Underworld, Earth, and Heaven. The two lower floors are located inside of the sculpture’s pedestal while the top floor is located in the belly of the elephant.
The first floor represents the underworld and contains precious artefacts from the founder, Lek Viriyaphant's personal collection. These include collections of tea sets, vases, and bowls, from the Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty. The underworld level also hosts the sculpture of the mythical being, a half Naga-half person, which was modeled after the belief that these beings guarded the precious treasures under the water.
The second floor representing the earth or the human world, this level houses three major types of art pieces and precious antiques and arts including Thai ceramics, stained glass, and European potteries.

Something that You should Remember About Love...
Love is not measured by size….

Or shape…

Or even by “words”…
But purely in the fact that you want to be with this person. Nothing more, and nothing less.
Whatever form your love may be, may it be one that make you genuinely happy from the bottom of your hearts.
Happy Valentine’s Day ಌ
