Welcome Family/La Familia
A big big thank you!
Welcome family to the Well being * My Bienestar, magazine's Newsletter about internal and external healing. Inspiring for self-love and the love we give. #Namaste
Bienvenido familia al Bienestar * Mi Bienestar, boletín de la revista sobre curación interna y externa. Inspirando el amor propio y el amor que damos.
How can we practice managing self-care and start by creating boundaries for ourselves and the people around us through massage?
According to the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) Consumer Survey, 67 percent of individuals surveyed claim their primary reason for receiving a massage in the previous 12 months was medical (41 percent) or stress (26 percent) related. Medical reasons include pain relief, soreness, stiffness or spasms, injury recovery, migraines, prevention, pregnancy or prenatal, and general well-being.
Source: AMTA's 2018 Consumer Survey
88 percent of individuals view massage as being beneficial to overall health and wellness.
88 percent of consumers surveyed believe that massage can be effective in reducing pain; with 31 percent of respondents stating they have used massage therapy for pain relief.
Consumers received an average of 4.5 massages  in the past 12 months.
Consumers received an average of 11.7 massages in the past 5 years.
The benefits of massage are endless and the number of people receiving massages is increasing yearly. Massage doesn’t always replace modern medicine some of the doctors prescriptions can aid in the bodies healing process. For some diseases and traumas Western medicine is absolutely necessary. A person with a broken leg would go to the ER before booking a massage which is advised. However once the cast is off and with the treating physician’s permission a massage would be the best treatment post trauma for healing. In situations where a person might be suffering with a mental illness a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) works with the client’s medical team. Many physiatrist and psychologist work side by side with Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT). Stress and lifestyle play a role in how our body functions and if you never received a massage before this newsletter might change your mind.

We should begin the journey to well-being by focusing on ourselves in a healthy way, with quick simple everyday practice. When we can balance our desires, feelings and emotions we can improve on our interpersonal relationships. Becoming attuned to self starts with understanding the difference between our conscious and subconscious mind. Freudian’s view that it’s a storage unit of socially unacceptable desires, traumatic memories, and painful emotions to cognitive psychology’s perspective that the unconscious mind is simply a bundle of cognitive processes that we’re not aware of, not an entity in itself. In a nutshell Freudian believed that many of our emotions, desires, and feelings are repressed or held out of our awareness. Those who hold back their emotions, desires and feelings may feel threaten. Blocking these natural flows of energy are often manifested  through dreams and slips of the tongue, hence the famous term “Freudian slip”.

What does this mean? It means we’re all having an array of human experiences and despite all the good days reality is we have  days we feel like giving up and we shouldn’t,  Its ok to feel.  We’re free to feel and have emotions it would be perfectly okay to have a bad day, strange week or a season of challenges. When we practice having patience through the process of habitual self-care we can change our perception about the world we live in and the people around us.  How we manage life’s stressors will help us stay healthy mind, body and spirit.
Here’s a simple yet powerful daily breathing exercise as suggested by @courtneybaueryoga on IG, Courtney Bauer is the founder of the ANYA Method,Curriculum AUM, and creator of a 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training
For starters BREATHE
We inhale and exhale over 20,000x a day. Breathing  is the gateway to our existence. So what a prefect way to begin the healing journey.
Throughout your day PAUSE  to observe the breath be patient with yourself, at first the results aren’t balant. When you begin to exercise awareness daily the changes are subtle . This is simply about acknowledgment, let go and go with the flow.
A deliberate nod, say yes
Breathe in…
Breathe out…
Go with the flow…
We believe in you, you can do it!
