We're a group of fans devastated about the cancellation and are now working to create a fanfic about what season 2 could have been! We hope to answer remaining questions about the world and also give a satisfying conclusion to Nabrielise's story <3

If you are interested in joining we would love to have you! The project is open to all fans, whether you want to write, create art, cheerlead, beta read or want to help brainstorm ideas :D

We are discussing plot threads for season 2 in our discord server and hope to post the fanfic some time next year. So feel free to join at any stage in the process, we've still only just begun!

Look id be lying if I said I didn't prepare myself for it to be cancelled the moment I started watching the show considering netflix's track record with queer poc rep but....

😢 I started holding out hope...yk...that some day thered be news that it got renewed or something and I got so fucking attached and now....

See, I did not expect this at all. Given the reviews it's been getting from fans and critics alike, and the fact that it's been out for LESS THAN 6 WEEKS, I was.. yeah, NOT expecting a cancellation announcement. I thought for aure we would get a S2, and that we might have to do battle to get a S3.

But yeah in hindsight the fact that it's a queer show, with a black lead, AND is polyamarous? Yeah maybe i should have seen it's execution coming, bc there's little that netflix hates more than multiple seasons of queer poc-led shows.

Which begs the question of why they would bother making it in the first place?????? Like. Their track record of cancellations speaks for itself. In which case, why bother creating the show in the first place???? It makes ZERO sense to me.

Ugh, catch me pulling a Five-versus-the-board-of-directors in the Netflix decision room, cause this is buuuullllshiiiiit

jay lycurgo posting about tbsatdh reminds me how i only saw the teaser because HE posted it. and i literally found out show got cancelled only because once again HE posted about it. i know netflix does that whole only one season to get more people to sign up but it has been proven proven that stops after some time. lmao they wouldn't be so desperate to stop password sharing if they weren't losing profit. so i don't understand how can they cash out money for the whole filming and cgi and shit but zeroo marketing??? like bitch even i know that's more important than the actual fucking show. never even expected them to renew it because i saw they didn't even mention it. never seen such CRICKETS. i need to know the thought process?? y'all like losing money??? well i finished the bastard son and the devil himself and all i can think about is how little sense the way netflix analyzes data and decides what to renew makes to me.

like, first, and the thing i’ve seen most people talk about: how many people finish a series within the first month, regardless of the marketing budget that series got, seems like an arbitrary as fuck way to determine success, and impossible to predict the economic viability of said series long term.

but second, and what i personally find weirder, is that it doesn’t look like they take into consideration WHO the people watching each series are? so the result ends up being that they keep renewing shows for the exact same audience, which i can only describe as the ‘surface level mainstream hetcis millennial’, and their entire roster ends up being lowest common denominator tv shows, like stranger things and wednesday and elite, and sure they statistically get the most views, but doesn’t it make more sense to renew shows that cover different niches so everyone has a reason to keep their fucking subscription? like personally i can count with one hand the amount of netflix shows that have picked my interest since 2017, and most of them have been cancelled, the only reason i have an account is because my family shares one, but the day they crack down on account sharing from different households i have absolutely no reason to get an account for myself because i know that the type of shows i enjoy are not the shows netflix is willing to invest in, and when they do it’s clearly because they miscalculated and will proceed to throw them under the bus when they realize.

Btw if anyone is wondering why I chose Timéo as the name for the little boy at Mercury's house, it's because Timéo means honour, and I think that Gabriel fully intends to honour his promise to go back and rescue the kid, and I really like the idea of honouring the promise to a child who's name is honour.
