Drafting huldrfolk part 2. This time, I've managed to outline chapter by chapter what needs to happen, instead of just starting at chapter 1 and see how long it takes until everything is "done". Progress!

Now, all I have to do is write the actual chapters.

W.I.P: Huldrfolk – Fragrance of a feast

Spellcraft, betrayal and emotional conflict; if you like character driven fantasy with a whiff of Norse folklore, this may be a book for you!   

Egil, jarl of Rhodria, wants to ensure the safety of his county and to keep the king’s peace. The arrival of spice merchant Gisle Elfridson is about to disturb said peace.

Gisle is on a secret mission. Sent by his mother, he is to undermine the rightful heir of the throne in favour of his own half-brother, illegitimate son of the king. The meeting between Egil and Gisle sparks feelings unexpected.  

In Hareborg, the capital, Egil’s sister Eira gathers information about the metalclad; strange creatures sighted near the border. Are they a threat to Rhodria?

For Gisle, the stay in Hareborg becomes a balancing act. A whisperer, he’s skilled at persuasion. But no one must know. Trollcraft – conjuring – is prohibited in the capital ever since Elfrid the fair once betrayed the king with her wiles. Gisle’s task gets no easier when Eira demands his attention. No more so when Gisle finds himself attracted to Egil.

The world of man is filled with power games, tension and intricate relationships. The depth of the woods belongs to the huldr; guardians and spirits of nature with powers and goals of their own. But these two worlds are about to interlace.

I've officially created the first draft-document for book 2!

“Appeal to a wider audience” is corporate lingo for “strip more themes from a piece of media so it’s safer and more sanitized for investors”

I am so excited to get a short story of mine published! ”Evelyn’s experiment” is a steampunk fantasy tale that’ll be featured in the ”Mordiska väsen” anthology. Yay!
