the tall devil hunter gave you an unresponsive hum as his long, slender fingers threaded through ebony locks.

“aki.”

“what.”

he still wasn’t paying attention to you.

heaving a sigh, you slid off of your seat and made your way over to the towering man who was fixing his mussed up hair in the mirror.

“aki hayakawa.” you slipped your arms underneath his shoulders, reaching up to his neck and grabbing his loosened tie.

perching your chin on his shoulder, you gazed at the reflection of the two of you in the mirror as you slowly slid the knot of his tie up to his neck to tighten it, inch by exhilarating inch.

oh, aki was paying attention to you now.

you could feel his adam’s apple bob underneath your soft lips as you pressed a light kiss to his vulnerable neck, never breaking eye contact with his reflection.

the tie was already more than tight enough, but this was too good.

you spotted something akin to panic flicker inside of aki’s dark, brooding eyes as you continued to slide the knot higher and higher and higher.

his entire body was rigid as he rasped out, “(y/n).” his fearful gaze pleaded with yours in the mirror.

“aki.” the thickest part of the tie nearly touching his chin, you stroked the side of his sharp jawline with your thumb, admiring his reddening face in the mirror and letting out a sultry giggle. “oops, too tight.”

you figured he deserved some sort of grace from you, but he was ignoring you in the first place. so he still needed some punishment.

grabbing hold of his sturdy shoulders, you spun him around until the two of you were face to face. you slid your hands tantalizingly down his toned chest, admiring the firm muscles underneath his white dress shirt before slipping his silk tie in between your fingers once again.

you were drunk off of his vulnerability. the way he begged with his eyes, pleading for you to free him from his constraints. his quiet, strained groans as he tried to maintain his composure while he slowly grew asphyxiated.

it was intoxicating.

raising your eyebrows suggestively, you placed two hands around the thick knot of fabric underneath his chin. as a tiny reward for his patience, you pressed a lingering kiss on the tip of his sharp jawline, just shy from his needy lips.

“ngh… (y/n). enough.” he warned, yet it was so hard to take him seriously as the leash was in your hands, not his.

you clicked your tongue in disapproval. “tsk, i’m the one in control here, hayakawa-san.” your dancing fingers trickled down to the knot just inches away from your face. you moved your challenging gaze up to aki’s, whose brows were furrowed in pain, annoyance, and.. restraint. “well, shall we?”

“hah…” he squeezed his eyes shut. “yes, please.”

a smirk spread across your playful lips at his desperation. “good boy,” you whispered, fingers working to swiftly loosen the knot.

as soon as you did, a strong hand grabbed the back of your head, tugging your hair back as gasping lips pressed against yours.

you see, aki wasn’t only begging for oxygen, he was begging for your lips.

those slender fingers that were once running through his ebony hair were now traveling up your collarbone to your neck. a startled gasp escaped your throat as his grip became vice, his lips moving to growl into your ear.

“now it’s my turn to shut you up.”

the blaring sounds of the faraway midnight city were dampened by the fluffy, slowly drifting snow.

it was just you and rin in this tiny bus stop, which was probably out of service, but you still had hope.

you had zero idea how the two of you had ended up in this abandoned area, with the city so far away. but all you knew was that you were one shiver away from freezing to death.

clouds of frost unfurled from rin’s lips as he pulled the collar of his black winter jacket over his nose. he looked so endearing like this, all bundled up in a thick cozy coat like a momma’s boy.

oh, shoot. he caught you staring at him, raising an eyebrow curiously.

“why’d you wear that?” he narrowed his eyes at your thin hoodie appraisingly.

pulling the strings of your weathered jacket to tightly hug your freezing neck, you avoided his critical gaze. “s-shut up. i didn’t think it would be this cold.”

you heard a familiar click of a tongue from beside you. “idiot. it’s literally the coldest day of the year.”

you were barely able to comprehend what he was saying as you focused on stilling your trembling body and somehow heating up your body. bringing your numb hands to your face, you blew shaky breaths onto your frozen fingers in a feeble attempt to thaw them.

you blew, and blew, and blew, getting colder by the second as frigid winds whipped past you. you were so absorbed with trying to unfreeze your frozen fingers that you didn’t notice that you were already warming up.

a fuzzy weight fell around your shoulders. a hand grabbed your shaking arm and slid it into an insulated sleeve. a familiar-scented jacket was wrapped cozily around you, instantly heating you up.

rin reached around your back to slip your other arm into the sleeve on his far side, his head following until he was hovering right next to your ear.

“ugh.. move, idiot,” he whispered, his lips just barely touching the shell of your ear. “stop making this difficult.”

you were, quite literally, frozen in place.

a shiver traveled down your spine— not from the harrowing cold, but from rin’s warm breath tickling your ear just so.

it seemed like you had forgotten all about your frozen body, and all you could focus on was his low, raspy whisper in your ear.

you snapped out of reality as he gently shook your shoulder to awaken you from your trance. as soon as you hastily slipped your arm into the other sleeve of his rather large— and long— winter jacket, it felt like you were swaddled in the warmest blanket of your life, cozied up in front of a flickering fireplace. you noted that although your nose was about to be frozen off, you could still tell that the jacket smelled just like him, mature and familiar.

realization hit as you watched rin’s bare arms slip from around your back.

“r-rin, you’re going to freeze to death!” you frantically tried to escape from his jacket, but struggled with the weight of it.

long, slender fingers trapped your hand in place, preventing you from wrangling with the sleeve of the jacket. “hey. it’s okay.”

although you had stopped your efforts to take off the coat, rin’s hand was still wrapped around yours, placed conveniently over your thrumming heart.

the two of you were still. stiller than the silent midnight. stiller than the slowly drifting crystals of snow.

it was just the two of you underneath this frosted bus stop, lit up with the flickering streetlight amidst the void of cold.

his lips were nearly blue. droplets of snow melted into miniscule puddles of dew on the fringe of his hair. plumes of frozen air matched his heavy breaths.

his hand over yours, your hand over your heart, the heart that belonged to him.

if your lips weren’t so cold, you would totally kiss him right now.

do you have any summer plans? this summer my whole family is going to florida for a family reunion at my grams house and id usually be like depressed about it but i found out my favorite cousins gonna be there so now good vibes are coursing through my veins. -🦃

“come here.” nagi replied, a stoic look on his face.

reluctantly, you trudged over until you were standing directly in front of your towering boyfriend, a pout on your lips. “what is it?”

he stared into your eyes for a quiet moment before placing a gentle hand onto your cheek, cradling it in his palm.

“wh-wha-what are you…”

bending down until his eyes were level with yours, he peered into your panicked orbs, flitting his gaze back and forth between them.

“n-nagi…” you felt your lips part as your cheek heated up in his warm palm. nagi rarely, if ever, showed any sort of affection like this. “w-what’s the occasion?”

he leaned in closer to you, his hand never leaving your cheek. he was so, so close. impossibly close.

“you…” he whispered, engulfing your vision.

he was so pretty.

“you…" his eyes traveled own to your lips. "you have something on your face.”

horrified, your hands flew instinctively to your face, covering your eyes in mortification. “n-nagi!” you cried, blushing like mad with something other than affection as you lightly pushed him away.

he chuckled softly, his eyes crinkling up at the corners as his face glowed with a once-in-a-lifetime expression. his precious smile. "gotcha," he whispered.

you peeked through the slits of your fingers at your boyfriend who was still towering over you and staring into your eyes affectionately. with a gentle touch, nagi slowly slid your hands away from your face and your cheek found its way into his palm once again.

pulling you in close, he rested his forehead against yours.

"you're so cute..." he pressed a featherlight kiss to your temple, whispering against your hairline. "i love you."
