the thing about people calling laios white is that theyre somehow framing it with the mindset of real world's political and social justice context where white privilege exists but this is a fantasy world written by a japanese living in japan where most of the time white privilege isn't something you can utilize so is it any surprise that the manga doesn't discuss race by making it a metaphor for racism in the west?

the black skinned elves are depicted as royals, we've never seen kabru got shit for his skin color but he did got shit for having blue eyes back in his hometown, shuro was never depicted as a victim of anti-asian racism because hey. get this. asia as a concept doesn't exist in dungeon meshi's world. in fact im not sure colorism is even a thing in dungeon meshi world? most of the time we see it based on whether they're long-lived or not, and. well. the racial biases of fantasy races that have nothing to do with skin color.

electro is the girlboss element, thats the theme. more seriously, when i was trying to assign elements to characters from a different game, one of them main criteria i used for if characters could be electro or not was how threatened i would feel if they were mad at me, like if i wasn't worried i decided they couldn't be electro. dunno what this reflects about electro

So I’m rewatching the Arlecchino animation and they did something that reminded of a topic I wanted to talk about. I would love for the anime to actually go through how some characters decide to manifest their powers cause from a gameplay perspective it’s tied to their weapon; but any vision holder could more or less do the same tricks as another

Amber in the WEBTOON just uses her hand sometimes or ignites rocks. She even lit Jeans sword on fire which all seems pretty simple, but then in game text talks about how Barron Bunny explodes because she’s using targeted pyrokinesis to ignite the powder inside. How did that thought occur?

At one point did Diluc think “I can throw out a phoenix.” And at any point he can grab a bow if he wanted and do flame arrows. So many moves are teachable to varying degrees!

They can make swords and shields pretty effortlessly. I would love episodes of the anime where the characters just practice doing things because they saw someone else do it. You can’t tell me Bennett didn’t see Jean make a healing circle and think “Hold on…that’s a thing? Can I do that?” If I was Collei the first thing I’m learning is a dendro shield. It’s all fun and games until Sara just decides to lightning punch you in your throat because that’s an option.

Look, I dislike TikTok with a vehement passion, but I know damn well that the scumbags have slipped a bunch of other shit in that bill that will make living absolute fucking hell (or more than it already is). There's no way that they would be able to run it through that quick without the motivation to continually screw the people of this country.
