she sits under the tree that refuses to bloom. With no king or queen on the throne. It remains flowerless. Even the tree feels the hopelessness. The darkness over the palce. Emptiness, quietness. The only sounds, dripping of water droplets in the empty taps.

The soft swish as her dress and cape flows along the ground. Tapping of her shoes.

She never thought this would happen. Being alone in this big place. The servants quiet in their quarters with so few people to serve

So many have fled, so few remain. An eternal cold settled up on the grounds.

She looks up at the tree, then kisses her hand. Placing it against the tree. Their presence sorely missed.

Once she's taken time to sit with the dead tree. She gets up, looking around the frosted grounds before starting back to the castle.

Her heels, tap tap taping, against the stone floor.

She sees ghostly apparitions walking the halls. Visions of warmer times.. when the castle was full. People, servants, family..

Her fingers drag a long the cold stone wall. Tapestries all gone. The hall empty and full of silent echoes. Echoes of the past.

No more fires lit in the harths. No warm glow through the windows.

The cold of loneliness. No warmth in her fingers. No warmth in her heart.

The cold of winter eternal
