HeroTV Database: Grand Opening

Warning: Default White with black text colouring (we couldn't prepare custom colours before launch) might be hard on the eyes. Please switch to dark mode which reverses these colours if the harsh white makes your eyes hurt, though it will also invert most colours of most templates and also desaturate some brighter images. We will be working on a proper theme and custom dark mode going forward, including exempting the templates to a colour change. You can opt into the cosmos skin in your user settings, which uses the new red & gold colourscheme and is easier on the eyes + overall design looks similar to fandom, but it's dark mode is brighter so don't use dark mode on it. Also, link colour only works if you haven't clicked on it if using vector skin. Yes, we are scrambling for a fix as I type.

But anyway, please start going here. All the information on the old wiki is on this one as well + new info will be added. If you wish to contribute, you will need a miraheze account. We still need plots for the S1 episodes and character pages have chunks missing, we can't do this alone. We would love your help!

Naming the new Tiger & Bunny Wiki!

After compiling some ideas, we have devised a poll. It is NOT a tumblr poll, as that likely won't achieve a majority. Being someone from a country with le epic preferential voting system, I came up with the idea for just that to decide what to name the new Wiki (it's moving to Miraheze).

Since this will be a wiki for the fandom, it's best to let the fandom decide, rather than just leave it to like, 4 people.

A tumblr Poll would likely NOT results in a majority winner (majority is over 50%) so this is one way to try and get that. A tumblr poll may have the 1st place lead with a 36% or something, but 2nd or 3rd place may have the overall majority support, just not first-choice support. Above all else we want most of the non-jp fandom to be happy with this decision. You have until the 30th of the month to vote, but voting may be closed earlier.

I won't tell you how to vote, that would be rigging. I have my preferences, though.

Okay I'm sorry but am I really the only one made super uncomfortable by a ship between a 13/14 year old and a 16/17 year old???

i know t&b doesnt make it fully clear whether yuri petrov actually has a scar on his face or not but to say its impossible is because people have a limited idea of what burn scars can look like and how they may be treated or covered up.

the way its portrayed and the initial injury itself operate on looser logic than in real life (due to the length of time mr. legend held onto his face) but its possible for him to have a burn scar on his face and still retain his eyesight, hair, and eyebrows.

the clear shape of a hand and the way it cuts through his perfectly-preserved eyebrows are obviously fictionalized, but given that he already has superpowers, i think his scar being slightly unrealistic isnt an issue or proof that it only exists in his mind as a form of trauma.

from the colour and texture given to the scar, we can adhere that its a hypertrophic scar: the skin has thickened, raised from the unaffected skin, and turned purplish as part of the healing process.

the portrayal of scars in media isnt exactly good and different disfigurements people can go through are often portrayed only in very specific manner and often in a very bad light, but theres nothing inherently ugly, scary or wrong about having facial disfigurement.

hypertrophic scars can look very different depending on the person and the severity of the initial burn. heres a real-life person whose scar, in my opinion, has a similar quality to it as yuris does.

ive cropped the image because even if its censored, i dont feel comfortable using someones real face on a tumblr post about a fictional character.

even if yuris scar is fictionalized, i think its clear what its supposed to represent. i also think the way its portrayed was specifically chosen to pursue a certain aesthetic/conventional beauty standard, which is disappointing but nothing unusual in media.

im of the opinion that the initial portrayal of his scar in the anime and various panels in the manga shows that it was supposed to be real, even if later material has now displayed it suddenly appearing/disappearing.

its also entirely possible to cover it with makeup. many people with different kind of facial disfigurement make content on the topic! this article links to some youtubers with facial disfigurement who create makeup videos.

Finally Watched T&B2c2!

A couple of quick thoughts:

First I keep seeing the "DD is set in T&B world" posts and theories again especially due to Mattia's work, and my thought/theory has been that DD is some sort of alternate timeline or something similar. Mainly because in DD the Earth has two suns, and I can't see them introducing a second sun in any kind of believable or satisfying way.

Now, SPOILER thoughts:

I'm kind of surprised so many people think Yuri is for sure 100% definitely dead. "Falling toward/into water and completely vanishing before the persona/people watching can make it the very short distance to look over the edge" is a very cliché fake out scene. It's like the definition of a fake death scene.

Plus, we have seen back in season 1 that Yuri can use his flames to both teleport and pass through walls. I could see this leading into a sort of rebirth/"reborn from my own ashes" type of deal, with his revealing his identity to Kotetsu and Barnaby being him giving up his double life as both Lunatic and Judge Petrov and choosing to just be a vigilante (maybe now one who doesn't kill).

I don't necessarily like the idea, but I could see it happening.

I do agree they really messed up with the rest of his arc this course, I just don't think he's dead yet.

Loved the continuation of Pao-Lin's doting older sibling energy, didn't love her comparing Zamira to her parents. The thing between Pao-Lin and their parents was a communication issue/misunderstanding plain and simple. Zamira's a control freak trying to live vicariously through her kid and kind of emotionally abusive. I think remove that comparison and the suggestion to invite her and the rest of the Zamira-Lara story this course is fine. It would certainly be a better trigger for an awkward redemption for Zamira than what we got with Endeavor.

On a lighter note -

I really liked the little cameos of Robin, Virgil/Andrew, Richard, and Johnny in the Prison riot. I wish we could have gotten more time with Edward, but he's always been a pretty minimal background character so I guess I'm fairly satisfied with what we did get.

I loved the dynamic between Ivan and Antonio this course too, though I'm not in the "all the buddies are romantic" group, so it was very "older friend/relative who let's you hang out with them and helps you out" to me. I like that they're so supportive of each other; they're both so awkward and anxious in different ways, and Antonio's helping Ivan back out of his shell.

And of course Subaru! Oof I thought the meet up with Ruby was gonna be so awkward, especially when he made that cute face and blushed when he brought up her message - but no apparently that was just him thinking of Thomas?

Then being all cool and supportive about Thomas leaving to go live with Ruby and her dads, only to sit in his dark apartment and cry after Thomas left?

My shipper goggles might be glued to my face, but honestly idc.
