Mina is fascinated by how humans function — more specifically, their emotions and behavior. Her family owns a well-known and prestigious bookstore in London, giving her access to all kinds of books ever since she was a kid. She’s always enjoyed reading, but her interest in psychology grew when she first discovered books on the subject. Maybe it was because she found it so interesting and wanted to learn more, or maybe because she hoped that, by studying it, she might understand why her father was so emotionally distant and absent.

Now in her 30s, she works at the bookstore and has access to all the psychology books she wants. For those who believe in her, she offers psychological help to the best of her ability. However, she still faces a lot of resistance from people who think it’s useless or believe that a woman shouldn’t be studying a topic related to the medical field.

The night she met Crown, Mina was on her way to visit her mother when she noticed a group of men she’d never seen before entering the house next to her family’s. Her curiosity got the better of her, and she sneaked in after them, only to witness the murder of their neighbor.

Appearance

Mina has brown, wavy, wild hair that reaches just above her waist. She parts her hair on either side and lets the strands fall loosely.

Her eyes are yellow, almost a bright gold when she’s excitedly talking about something she loves. She has tanned skin.

Mina prefers to wear comfortable clothes without much frill. She can dress more elegantly for a party or any mission that requires it, but she prefers skirts or pants, shirts, and flats.

𐐪𐑂 When she first came to Crown, she thought he was handsome. It wasn’t love at first sight, as she considered everyone handsome, but there was something about him that intrigued her.

𐐪𐑂 They started getting close when he asked for a human subject, and as a fellow science/medical enthusiast, she agreed, as long as he guaranteed it wouldn’t be dangerous or fatal. From that day on, she was in his lab almost daily — even when she wasn’t part of his research, she enjoyed going there to see what he was working on or simply to sit in a corner and read from his book collection.

𐐪𐑂 All that time together ended up making them bond over their shared passion for the science field, which made them spend even more time together. As a result, tension began to build between them. She didn’t want to label it, and Roger didn’t seem to care to do so either, so they left it at that — just two adults sharing the same room all day, exchanging furtive glances here and there. It was a little maddening, and Roger didn’t let it continue for more than a week. You can read their first kiss here.

𐐪𐑂 After that, they started a casual relationship, occasionally making out. They didn’t admit any feelings, especially because Mina didn’t want to get hurt. She knew Roger didn’t believe in love, even though she tried more than once to explain to him that love isn’t something that can be understood from a logical perspective, but rather something emotional, something that you feel.

𐐪𐑂 One of the things that made her fall for him was how genuinely interested he was in her psychology knowledge, and how much he supported her in learning more and working with it.

𐐪𐑂 They get along very well and are pretty chill when it comes to jealousy and possessiveness. They do have their moments now and then, but they’re rare.

𐐪𐑂 When it comes to PDA, they’re not chill at all. They’ll kiss in front of everyone without a care in the world.

𐐪𐑂 He tried to convince her to box with him, but she said she preferred to just appreciate the view. Alfons actually made gagging sounds that day.

𐐪𐑂 She made him clear some space for her to set up a table with the typewriter in the corner, so she could write her reports and keep him company.

𐐪𐑂 Mina spends time with the other guys, but she’s usually with Roger. If you see one of them, there’s a good chance the other is nearby as well.

𐐪𐑂 Roger teaches her how to shoot.

𐐪𐑂 They gossip a lot about everyone. Not to spread gossip or be mean or anything like that! They just keep it between them. Mina takes advantage of his abnormal hearing.

𐐪𐑂 He calls her “lil’ lion” (because of how wild her hair gets sometimes), honey, darling, sweetheart. She calls him “stupid doctor”, honey, love.

Friends

𐐪𐑂 Ellis is Mina’s best friend. He made her breakfast on her first morning at the castle, and since then, they’ve started spending time together and bonding easily. She finds him easy to talk to and get along with, and even though his kindness can be a little twisted, she knows she can count on him. They both just want to make everyone happy (for entirely different reasons, but still). They enjoy quiet moments together, but they also talk about the most random things. When she’s not working or spending time with Roger, she’s probably with Ellis.

𐐪𐑂 Alfons is an unlikely close friend. At first, all she wanted was to get a rise out of Roger, since she noticed the two men would bicker a lot, and Alfons would never pass up an opportunity to annoy the doctor. They ended up getting along and becoming real friends. They share a very similar sense of humor, and since their birthdays are close, they now celebrate together. 

𐐪𐑂 Jude and Mina can stay in the same room reading quietly. Since she spends a lot of time with Ellis, she ends up spending time with him too. She likes talking to him sometimes — she thinks his remarks are funny. She sees a (twisted) brother figure in him.

𐐪𐑂 William, Elbert, Liam, Harrison, and Victor are all very dear to Mina, and she enjoys talking to them and spending time with them too. She brings pretty things to Elbert (which annoys the hell out of Alfons), and watches all of Liam’s plays (and sometimes convinces Roger to come along).

𐐪𐑂 Ring is someone she hangs out with occasionally because he became friends with Ellis. She thinks he’s cute and likes listening to him talk about flowers. She also enjoys teasing him and watching him stutter and blush.

𐐪𐑂 Nica and Darius are people she doesn’t fully trust. She tries to get along with them for Crown and Ring’s sake.

General Random Things

𐐪𐑂 Mina usually keeps a straight face, but as she gets more comfortable with someone, she starts showing more expressions. At first, Roger had to rely on his ability to hear her heartbeat or listen to murmurs around the castle to figure out how she was feeling. Now, all it takes is one look at her from across the room, and he knows.

𐐪𐑂 She’s playful and likes teasing her friends once she feels comfortable around them.

𐐪𐑂 She’s got a temper as short as her height, and Roger loves to affectionately test it on a daily basis.

𐐪𐑂 Half Brazilian. Her mom moved to England, where she met her dad. Mina was born there, but her mom taught her Portuguese. She curses in Portuguese (and by now, everyone knows a few random curse words in Portuguese).

𐐪𐑂 Her typewriter is her weapon, as it’s what she uses to write her reports. She also uses it to write angry letters.

𐐪𐑂 The other reason is that she once hit Alfons with it when he tried to use his ability on her.

𐐪𐑂 She also accidentally threw the typewriter at Roger. She got irritated with it and tossed it across her bedroom just as he was entering.

𐐪𐑂 Actually, she just throws things when she’s angry. She knows it’s not the healthiest way to deal with her feelings, and she finds it ironic that, despite loving and studying emotions, she struggles with her own anger. But she’s glad it doesn’t bother Roger, and she appreciates that he’s the calm one in the relationship.

𐐪𐑂 Alfons once managed to use his ability on Roger and get him to act super sweet and romantic with Mina, and she enjoyed it a lot. She even asked if he could do it again sometime. Roger may or may not have overheard and teased her endlessly as punishment. Coughs.
