Good afternoon everyone!   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Today, instead of posting a painting or work in progress, I am sharing yet another “rejection” letter. I posted my first one a couple months ago and talked about my fear of failure. I realized that my fear ran deep. It kept me in a paralyzing comfort zone, where I was afraid of even taking risks with my art. All I was painting were things I knew people would like, but I got bored, my work grew stale, my frustration had frustrations of its own. I gave myself invisible boundaries and walls that are proving hard to break down but I am taking a sledgehammer to them. Into the rejection folder it shall go and on to the next project!   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What fears keep you from taking risks? More reptile eyes for the win! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Because I just started using oils, I thought painting reptile eyes would be a great way to play with the richness in color. Its been a while since I posted a painting time lapse. I am having so much fun playing with oil paints, I used to hate these with a passion! I am so excited to get this guy packed and ready to go. I am happy to announce that he will be auctioned off and all the proceeds will go to @wildlifesos . Im so happy that I was able to teach today’s Painting with a Purpose @paintingwithatwistel . ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The proceeds for today’s event went to @vfaes_org . I had so much fun playing with oils that I immediately started sketching another reptile eye. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I used watercolor pencils for the under drawing.
