A terrestrial retexture of Lunar Lakes using Lucky Palms sand and natural versions of base game Fantasy Trees.
NOT a singular .world file due to CAW issues with decrapified worlds. NOT a standalone world either. Requires Lunar Lakes itself.
Still interested? Download and Installation Instructions under the cut
Still here? Okay, good :)
The Download link below includes the following folders:
1.) Put in your Lunar Lakes .world File
You need s3pe for this.
IMPORTANT: Make a backup of your old Lunar Lakes .world file, maybe put something like .bak in the filename. Do NOT touch this file, this is your backup in case something goes wrong.
Open your active Lunar Lakes .world copy with s3pe
Drag the Martian Lakes Files.package into s3pe, overwriting old files, disabling “auto-save with each package”
Save the .world file
2.) Put in your Packages folder
Fantasy Tree Default Replacements.package is (surprise) the file with the green replacements for the Fantasy Acacia, Fantasy Bush, Fantasy Spike Tree, and Fantasy Mushroom are found. This is completely optional in case you like the look of the old plants, or if you prefer having another replacement for them.
You can also use this as a standalone package if you just want the green trees.
3.) Put in your Saves folder (Optional but Recommended)
This new save has mostly empty lots and only a handful of pre-built residentials left behind. Using this save file is only recommended to remove the original green sand from the lots in Map View.
You CAN, however, manually remove the green sand yourself if you insist on using an existing Lunar Lakes save. Simply enter a lot in Build/Buy and move a tree or add a rock to reset its map thumbnail.
This save uses an Into the Future rabbithole and some map decor. These will probably be replaced with something else if you don’t have ITF

A few more screenshots from Martian Lakes (basically Lunar Lakes but more earth-like) Since I couldn’t get the pipes and other world objects to show up in CAW, I might release this in the form of 3 files in all:
A package file you import into a copy of your Lunar Lakes world file
A package file you insert into your Mods folder to replace the Fantasy plants
A save folder you load up to get mostly empty lots and get rid of the green sand in Map view
Not sure if that would be too much work for what is essentially just a reskin.

Experimented with making a “terrestrial” version of Lunar Lakes by replacing the terrain files with the ones from Lucky Palms and spending a few hours in photoshop for the tree textures, but as it turns out I can’t produce a stable world without using CAW, because everything glitches out when I zoom out. Oops. Normally my next step is to just edit Lucky Palms itself to make a future world but it’s just too large and detailed a world to edit manually via Edit Town

I’m not really active on any of my tumblr accounts (at all) and I really only play the Sims every now and then, which is when I only rev up Tumblr to look for CC. Here are a few small conversions of some stuff I like that I was too lazy to search for online lmao
Also the Batuu chair has all the small bags and netting behind it edited out. Not personally a fan of the aesthetic :P

Tiered Simplicity Planter Set - TS4 Conversion
Tumblr media
I removed the two plants from the original and added slots. I also added some more options!
Each pot has one slot each. Wall planter is shiftable. Three recolorable channels. One for the pot, one for the “horizontal” pattern, and one for the “vertical” pattern.
Also included is a spider plant edited from the TS4 mesh, and a hanging vine edited from Lunasims’ TS2 hanging planter set (which I also converted on my own here). Mesh edited so that the base attaches to a planter slot; no need for OMSPs anymore.
Both plants are recolorable with multiple presets.
Planters found in Surfaces > Displays Plants are found in Plants

Secret Build Techniques
Two uncommonly-known build exploits for your use- to get an extra floor, and to create a one-level open-air basement! Read more under the cut.
Sixth Floor
This allows you to create an extra sixth floor. Mainly useful for decorative use!
Build up to the five-floor limit.
Create a mansard roof large enough to show a floor tile.
Delete roof
Using ‘placefriezes on’, you can now place a frieze where you couldn’t before.
You can then use CFE to shape the floor to your liking.
Of note: It’s best to keep the extra floor decorative or lightly-built, as there are restrictions. You can’t build walls, roofs, nor stairs, but ladders (place beforehand), fences, and elevators work. Use ‘moveobjects on’ to place objects, doors, and windows. You can use the sledgehammer to delete the extra floor.
Open-air Basements
This allows you to create a one-level open-air basement, as teased by Sims Uni’s gym.
Create basement on a completely flat piece of ground.
Create stair in basement where you want the opening to be.
Create a foundation at the end of the staircase, one tile away.
Copy the stair and place a new stair leading from the foundation to the top of the stair to the basement.
Delete the stair to the basement.
Delete basement stair.
You can repeat this as many times as you want to create large open areas! Beyond that, it functions as a normal basement.
Of note: To delete the open-air areas, place basement stairs where you don’t want the effect, and then delete those stairs. You can then delete the basement. It’s best to keep the open-air area lightly decorated, as I believe that objects beyond doors and windows will not show above-ground even if you have object hiding disabled. The game will also only render the first basement level below ground.
Hope this helps!

I have just tried fiddling around with the Sims 4, and I gotta say it does have its pros and cons compared to TS4 :P
With the right CC, a lot of aspects of building and gameplay can be made to look fairly realistic (which is why for the longest time I’ve preferred TS3) and my sims definitely do look more realistic than they were in TS3, but finding realistic cc is difficult for me because I suppose I don’t quite know where to look?
I also definitely miss CAS and I do get the frustration where I can’t make everything match everything else in a pinch. You get those moments where the wood just doesn’t match, etc. Unmodded Sims 4 isn’t like modded TS2 where almost every object is almost expected to be made in Pooklet colors.
It was lots of fun though to turn the Strangerville conspiracy theorist into a hot nerdy, pimply, awkward dreamboat, and retexturing some hair via Sims4Studio to match my needs :P

This is Cririnar Vrairo, a gemfinder and gemcutter by trade, who lives in a renovated Z-shaped house in Lunar Lakes (previously owned by a now-permanently-missing Lars Royal located right next to an abandoned crystal mine.
This Sim is the one I ended up starting a legacy with :P  I couldn’t resist experimenting with alien foliage and futuristic decor.
In my game, I usually lean towards same-sex relationships, so through the magic of NRaas StoryProgression and a few tutorials, I managed to let males get impregnated by other men. That yet-unnamed baby (I’m bad with names!) is genetically his, fathered by his good friend Pax Lui who is another woman’s husband.
Gradient patterns are a godsend to me, and a lot of ATS3 Sandy’s Sims 4 conversions turned out to be recolorable if you remove the overlays first :P

Casually posting one of my new sims which I plan to use for a future Goth Clown legacy (where all the boys must grow up to be vampire goth clowns).
I’ve been making personal-use clown-related TS4 conversion CC just for this guy and his planned future goth clown kin.

Skyrim Plant Conversions
Tumblr media
Some semi-quick conversions of some flora from Skyrim. I couldn’t find any TS3 conversions of these so I decided to take on the task myself :P (though the sizing is kinda weird, I personally prefer the large blooms myself.)
From left to right: Deathbells, Nightshades, Tundra Cotton, and Dragon’s Tongues
Tumblr media
All of them can be found in the Flowers section of Build Mode for $5.
They’re also recolorable!

Default Replacement Harvestable Tree HOTFIX
Tumblr media
Previously my DR Tree mod had some issues about it disappearing at a distance leaving behind weird floating fruits.
This update has the following changes:
The disappearing issue was because its MLOD wasn’t being properly detected, and despite my efforts to pull through various mesh glitches and UV map errors, I decided to remove the MLOD entirely and make it so that the high-resolution mesh is visible at all levels of detail.
These trees have 1533 vertices and 1722 faces. If this worries you in terms of whether your world can handle it when you have waaaay too many trees on one lot, I wouldn’t suggest getting this in that case.
I’ve added mipmaps to the textures so they won’t be staticky and pixelated at a distance.
Mesh edited to be wider and rotated so that fewer fruits appear to “float”. There are still some fruits that DO still float, but these are again removable using moveobjects if they really bother you.
Feel free to test it out and tell me if there are any other problems you might find.
Thanks to all the people who helped find the initial bugs! Sorry if I wasn’t able to reply right away (or at all), life got in the way. Still, I appreciate everything all the same.

Hi, I need help lol
For those of you that remember my default replacement harvestable tree  (which also happens to be my first default replacement mod), @technicallyswagpizza and @amphoraesims found that the tree disappears for certain people when you’re too far away from it.
I’m unsure if my DF harvestable bush also has this issue.
Photo borrowed from TSP’s post:
Tumblr media
The thing is, on my end, I don’t really know how to fix it because I can’t replicate the issue on my test worlds. In the following photo, this is the farthest my trees stay visible in Live Mode at an aerial angle. They disappear when I scroll my mouse even further, at the same time that other objects such as the lot mailbox do.
Tumblr media
Maybe someone can also have a look at the package file and tell me what I should do to fix this? I’d appreciate it a lot because I still have a lot to learn when it comes to making CC for this dinosaur of a game lol

3-Tile Wall Height Murals
Tumblr media
Personally I absolutely HATE having to download and apply 3 separate wallpapers to make one coherent design. It clogs up my build catalog and is a total hassle to do. I’m a lazy builder, but not lazy enough to do this :P
Found in Decor > Wall Hangings for $100.
Features artwork by Niv Bavarsky and Isabelle Feliu.

PS: If you search their names on Google, they sell prints of their artwork :P

@desiree-uk:  Yes! I Thank you! I love these :) And yes I noticed the ones from Milla has some weird clipping on the pot. Are you using her plants too? Some of the ones pictured are different, where are they from?
-----------
Most of the plants I use recently are from Sandy’s 4t3 Depotted Plants, I also used a depotted monstera plant in the screenshot but since I got it from a batch cc collection, I can’t quite remember who made it :(
EDIT: The monstera is from this set
