I love the idea of a faye creature / goddess as an eldritch being. she is beautiful but in a way that is literally too searing and incomprehensible for the human mind

she'll make a deal with you and grant your wish but she may not really understand your desires and you can't understand hers

the sugarplum fairy from acoc and the fairy queen of sweet dreams from cinderellas castle have the same energy… sisters perhaps

A woman floated just above Ella, the tree splitting open white-silver lines swirling across her face, a pure white dress billowing around her. Her red hair was bold, almost seeming to burn against her death-white skin. Ella felt her mouth open in shock, as she realised that the woman had six arms, stretching out like a cricket’s. Green wings, long and insect-like extended from her back as she hung in the air, wide and strong and wrongwrongwrong. She was ethereally beautiful, the kind that wars had been fought over. The air around her sang with birdsong, a steady soprano of screams. Ella wanted to look away, her heart pounding out a melody of fear all on its own.

She managed to stay in the air for about a second, before she fell. But really, even that looked graceful. A god walking among mortals couldn’t be easily fazed, and certainly not by one single fall.

Ella had learned a long time ago not to show weakness. So instead, she just cocked an eyebrow and stared the Fairy Queen directly in the face.
