And... Second of all, a wedding? Neo, at a wedding?

Well. It's a surprise, even to themselves, but they do find themselves a little flattered by the message! They could corner Carol about how the Hell she managed to send a message to them another time (not at the wedding, obviously, they weren't that rude)... Two guests, though? Neo barely knew two other people that could tolerate them!

Actually, no. There was one. They'd have to get back in contact with her and drag her along... Mint was a chatty cat, she'd get along with Carol just fine, surely.

... So it's a date.

They'll be there!

"My knowledge of Sage is rather... Minimal."

It's the truth-- Neo hadn't been introduced to her yet, but they shrug. They'd have to seek her out, in their own time. Whether or not Sage was predispositioned to distrust them in such a form was beyond them. Their betrayal was hardly a footnote.

"But, like my Metal Sonic siblings, I believe her to be my equal. Although my alliance with my creator is shaky, I would still like to understand all of my siblings.

... Even if such understanding is not reciprocated."

There's a long pause as Neo dwells on this question, hands knitted together in a thoughtful motion, before they let out a metallic sigh.

"I like him. I do. As some organics may describe, 'like-like' him." There's a mocking hand motion for airquotes when they say it, but it is the truth. Neo has a harsh aversion to the word 'love', or 'crush'.

It doesn't feel right to use such terminology.

"I find him to be of good company; I didn't expect that of a Sonic, even if he is not from my universe. But... I appreciate his presence. Very much so."

... Still feeling the sting from their accidental rejection, here. But there's still some hope, hanging on in there.

Head perks & turns at the sound of Nathan’s voice. There’s currently a Chao trying to crawl onto one of their shoulder plates, to which its very carefully removed and placed back into their lap to safety... Wouldn’t want it to fall and hurt itself, now!

A blink of their optics is offered to Nathan, before glancing at the Chao that he’s petting.

... They are kind of cute. They’re starting to understand what exactly it means to find something cute; the big round eyes, the soft little face-- just like a baby. Neo offers a nod towards Nathan, delicately removing the Chao from their body as gently and as slowly as possible.

“... Of course.” They rise to their feet, careful not to step on any of them-- they’re all so small! “Let’s get this over with.”
