ADD ME ON GOODREADS:
Pushing the Limits series consists of 3 books so far, Pushing the Limits, Dare You To and Crash Into You. I thought there was only going to be 3 but there is more! Happy dance time
They are realistic fiction, and each book has different main characters but they all tie into one another. They all are truly fantastic books here's my reviews:
Pushing the Limits:
Such a deep dark book. The honest and tragic reality of teenage life when your from broken homes.
It touched on things that we all have had to deal with at some point, lost love one, parents who don't relate, people that only want you to appear 'normal'.
I feel like i could read 10 more books about Echo and Noah's life and feel a bit sad that it ended so abruptly.
but very touching and relatable story.
5 stars.
Dare You To:
I haven't read books by any other author with such complex and real characters.
Beth was such an interesting girl, and i saw a lot of myself in her. her determination for her family, not believing anyone would or could love her just as she is. she's at war with herself as the only true enemy.
Ryan is also at war, not with himself but his family. He is also incredibly sexy. And he writes? *swooooooon*.
This book is my top favorite read of the year, and that is saying something. I have reread it about 5 times and I still can't get enough.
A very beautiful tragic story. It was magic to read.
Crash Into You:
Katie McGarry is a master at writing heart wrenching, amazing young adult romance books.
We leave Beth and Ryan and enter the world of Isaiah and Rachel. Even though I found Dare You To much more touching and raw, this story did not fail to make me cry, laugh and love.
Okay, so Isaiah. I love love loved that we got to see him for who he is, as previously we have seen him through Noah and Beth's eyes. I love that everyone thinks he is a massive stoner, when he just pretends to fit in and make people afraid of him. Shows that even tough guys are insecure with themselves.
Rachel was a little harder to like, new character and all (I had to make sure she was good enough for our Isaiah). But from the first page I liked her. She is sweet and honestly every guys dream girl.
My favorite scene was when everyone was at Noah and Isaiah's house, like a little reunion. Noah and Echo, Beth and Ryan, Isaiah and Rachel. It was a funny feeling picturing all these characters from a 3rd person POV instead of a first person.
AND THERE IS MORE! We get a story from Rachel's brother, West. I like West and Ethan. Makes me wish I had older brothers instead of 3 younger brothers. Sad to know that we will be letting go of the characters that we love becuase I cant imagine that we will be seeing Noah, Echo, Beth and Ryan much in West's story. Its hard to let go, but it was an amazing ride.
Thank you Katie McGarry for the beautiful stories of Noah, Beth and Isaiah. Your writing I hold dear to my heart.
