Wandering through KLCC Park, my second favorite spot in Kuala Lumpur after the Botanical Gardens! In the heart of the city, but sheltered from the noise by nature and skyscrapers. Whether you’re here to jog or just chill, this green oasis is a must. Next time you’re in Malaysia’s capital, skip the mall and come stretch your legs! #WalkingWithPiotrek

Dating as a digital nomad is a wild ride! From coffee chats in Lisbon to swipes in Kuala Lumpur, apps have their own vibes. Tinder is for quick flings, OkCupid for deeper chats, and Bumble lets women take the lead. Don't forget the magic of real-life connections at colivings and events! Dating as a digital nomad is a wild ride. One day, you’re sharing coffee in a Lisbon coworking space. The next, you’re swiping through profiles in a Kuala Lumpur airport lounge. The challenge? Finding connection in a world that never stands still. Each dating app has its own flavor. Tinder is everywhere and easy to use. But let’s be honest. It’s mostly about quick sparks and fleeting encounters. OkCupid, on the other hand, is for the wordsmiths. If you like thoughtful answers and want to connect over shared quirks, this is where you’ll find your tribe. Then there’s Bumble. This one seems to click best for me and my nomad friends. Because only women can start the conversation, the matches tend to be more intentional. The dates? Often deeper. Sometimes, they even lead to something lasting. But don’t get trapped in the digital maze. The offline world is still full of surprises. Some of my best connections happened at colivings, coworkings, or during those spontaneous chats at digital nomad events. The secret is to stay open. Try different apps, yes. But also show up in real life. You never know who you’ll meet when you least expect it.

Being a digital nomad shows the true power of friendship! A birthday reminder from afar sparks long chats. My Contacts app keeps me connected, and Beeper makes messaging easy. But nothing beats in-person reunions. Distance is just geography; real friendship is a choice! Video also published on YouTube: https://youtube.com/shorts/xT9vjzfQRAA

You don’t realize how much you value a friendship until you’re halfway across the world, getting a calendar reminder for their birthday. That’s when the digital nomad lifestyle tests what really matters. My Contacts app isn’t just a list of numbers. It’s a living archive of birthdays, each one synced to my Calendar, so I never miss a chance to reach out. Even if I’m on a different continent. I make it a habit to call my friends for long, unhurried conversations. Not just a quick “how are you”, but a real catch-up, no matter the time zone. Beeper is my lifeline. It doesn’t matter if my friends love WhatsApp, Telegram, or Instagram DMs. With Beeper, I can reach everyone from one place. The platform doesn’t matter. The connection does. But here’s the truth. All the tech in the world can’t replace the electricity of being together. When I finally see my friends in person, I give them my full attention. No distractions. No glancing at my phone. Quality time is non-negotiable. That’s the foundation that keeps old friendships alive, even as I live this full-time nomad life. Distance is just geography. Friendship is a choice you make, again and again.

Arriving in a new city sparks excitement and nerves, especially with social anxiety. I thought a laptop and Wi-Fi were enough, but true growth came from engaging strangers. Every city offers fresh connections. Start small, greet someone, and step outside your comfort zone! Every stranger can become a friend. You know that feeling, the one where you step off a plane in a new city and your heart races, not with excitement, but with a nervous churn. The world tells you travel is freedom, but they rarely mention the invisible walls that social anxiety can build. When I started this digital nomad journey, I thought my laptop and a good Wi-Fi connection were all I needed. But the real challenge wasn’t finding a coworking space or the best local coffee. It was learning how to walk into a room full of strangers and not let my voice get lost in the noise. Here’s the truth. Social anxiety doesn’t vanish just because your scenery changes. But every new place is a chance to rewrite the script. I learned to start small. A smile to the barista. A “hello” in a coworking lobby. Volunteering for a local project, even when my instinct was to retreat. Each tiny step added up. The digital nomad lifestyle isn’t just about working remotely. It’s about building real connections. Sometimes awkwardly, always authentically. The magic happens when you let yourself be a little uncomfortable and trust that most people are just as eager for connection as you are. So next time you feel that familiar anxiety creeping in, remember. You’re not alone. Every new friend started as a stranger. And every city is a fresh page, waiting for your story.

Swapped my desk for the sun at Finca Altavista in Tenerife! 🌞 Morning yoga, caring for a gentle horse, and cooking with fresh harvests. Evenings filled with laughter and board games with friends from around the world. Volunteering is about embracing new experiences and finding your tribe! Ever wondered what happens when you trade your desk for a sun-soaked finca and your daily grind for a community of like-minded souls? That’s exactly what I did when I volunteered for three months at Finca Altavista in Tenerife. Each morning started with yoga under the open sky, the warmth of the sun reminding me that freedom can be simple. Days were spent caring for the finca’s gentle horse, and evenings brought us together in the kitchen, cooking organic meals with produce we’d picked ourselves. There’s something grounding about pulling carrots from the earth and knowing they’ll end up on your plate. But the heart of the experience was the people. Board games after dinner became our ritual, laughter echoing through the finca as we learned from each other and grew together. The community was alive. I made friends from all corners of the world, each with their own story, each adding a new layer to my own journey. Volunteering abroad isn’t just about giving back. It’s about opening yourself up to new experiences, learning in unexpected ways, and finding your tribe in places you never imagined. If you’re looking for the foundations of the digital nomad lifestyle, start here. Give back. Make friends. Let the world surprise you.

Back in the lush beauty of Kuala Lumpur’s botanical garden for the latest episode of “Walking with Piotrek”! I’ve been away exploring my favorite travel destination, Japan, where I finally visited Nagasaki and the breathtaking Nachi waterfall. Japanese culture has fascinated me since childhood, and every trip there reminds me why it’s a must-visit: so convenient, welcoming, and endlessly inspiring. Highly recommend it to all fellow nomads!

Jumped through hoops to get my Whoop 5 during a trip to Japan, only for it to stop pairing with my iPhone after 2 weeks. If a device is unreliable and can’t be serviced or replaced easily worldwide, what’s the point? Apple makes global support so much simpler.

Networking is vital, but genuine connections fuel a digital nomad's journey. Coworking spaces are vibrant hubs for community, offering more than just WiFi. Entering my first space, I found camaraderie among fellow travelers. Engage with the community; that's where inspiration thrives. Try @kohuborg in Thailand! Stop networking. Start connecting. That’s the real secret behind thriving as a digital nomad. Coworking spaces aren’t just about WiFi and free coffee. They’re the heartbeat of our global tribe. I remember walking into my first coworking hub. Nervous, laptop in hand, scanning for a quiet corner. But what I found was a room full of people who got it. The late-night hustlers, the morning coffee philosophers, the ones who know the struggle of finding fast internet in a new city. It’s easy to feel alone when you’re always on the move. But these spaces? They’re where strangers become collaborators, where a casual chat over lunch leads to a new project or a lifelong friend. The real value isn’t in the desk you rent. It’s in the stories you share, the advice you swap, and the sense that you’re not the only one chasing this wild, borderless life. So next time you walk into a coworking space, don’t just plug in your laptop. Plug into the community. That’s where the magic happens. One of the best examples of such a coworking is KoHub in Ko Lanta, Thailand. I highly recommend this space. Both for the quality of the office infrastructure, and for the great nomads you can meet there.

Walking into a digital nomad meetup? Expect a mix of networking and competition. Newcomers may feel lost as seasoned nomads take over. Real connections emerge from sharing challenges like loneliness or visa issues. Engage, show up regularly, and bond in smaller groups for true community.
