hhhhh I was told to make a post about this so here I go.

I made a Ko-fi ‘cause I’m trying to get out of my toxic household. I’m nervous and scared to get out on my own, but I need to do this for my own mental health, and I need help to do it. My Sister Is Better Than Me

She's 16, publishing a book, applying to Oxbridge, getting letters of praise from school, has a lovely long term relationship, has a small following for her photography work, is top of her class, has trophies from, inter-school chess, has published articles, is pretty and athletic and so kind-

I'm 21, still in my second year of uni - a local one because I'm too disabled to move away. I've got PTSD from an abusive relationship, causing me to avoid others - I lose friends, she gains them. I'm not pretty, I discarded my talent for my passion, I did only average in my exams, had to give up the only athletics I could do to manage a small part time job-

Whenever I try to talk about it to my parents they roll their eyes or tell me not to be silly.

I can't even take an extra shift at work without being reminded of my limits! Meanwhile my sister gets publishing contracts and goes out on photography trips and agggh

I love her so so much, I just wish I could make my parents proud like she does

They just don't seem to trust me to do anything. Not to get a job (they were proud for about 2 days, then I got criticised because of it being a teaching job, and now they just...never talk about it), not to do my job well, not to do my uni work, not to get good grades ("I'm just happy you got a grade" is shit when your sister is praised for her As and A*s), not nothing.

I just wish I could be successful too. But it just...isn't realistic.

She wants to be a photojournalist and travel for it. I want to be an art teacher, maybe do a bit of freelancing.

She wants to get married and adopt. I want to have a cat.

She's writing and writing and publishing, and I'm shy letting people see even my sketches.

She's in a loving relationship, I screwed up with mine, and I'm not even interested-

She's strong and fast. I'm on crutches and can't pick up a kettle.

I do love her, and my parents, but it still hurts.

Kokichi Ouma Character Analysis: Chapter 4 and Grey Morality

So a quick disclaimer: Yes, I am very aware that this is most likely not canon, or at least not what the writers intended on being canon, nor am I saying that this is 100% canon and should be considered as such. This is just a fan theory/analysis I came up with for my own enjoyment and wanted to share with others, as I like coming up with theories/analysis posts and reworking canons to make enhanced stories and character development in my perspective. I firmly believe that the idea of making theories isn’t supposed to be a shouting contest to see which opinion is the most loud and correct, but should be something to share with others and find acceptance and understanding in different interpretations, even if you don’t agree with them.

I want the disclaimer here to be taken extra-seriously as I know for a fact that this topic within itself is one hell of a problem when it comes to Kokichi’s character. This incident and series of events is what makes or breaks Kokichi’s character for a lot of people. People who see Kokichi’s character as nothing but up to no good be warned; this post is not for you.

However, the said can be said for those who think Kokichi can do no wrong. I may call Kokichi a “precious cinnamon roll” but in reality, the scale of his sins during Chapter 4 is impossible to ignore, especially when it’s such a huge deal that it carries over into the rest of the story of the game. There’s a lot of divide over whether or not Kokichi is a pure saint or pure evil, when in actuality, human beings are far more complicated than black or white, good or evil, and that’s sort of the beauty hidden within this case. Morality is crushed to the ground and stomped on until it’s borderline unrecognizable.

So without further adieu, let’s begin the analysis, and talk about Kokichi’s fall from grace and into a despair so miserable that it ripped him apart.

So there's this cat that visits us a lot, and we tend to feed it. In particular my dad feeds it tuna.

Anyhow, I feed it tuna, and turns out I did it ~wrong~

Just feels typical. I can't even feed a cat right even when I do exactly as told.

Anyhow. My dad's cross with me and I feel crap cause no matter WHAT I do I'm never good enough to him.

High Five?

So, here are my thoughts on the whole “High Five” thing. 

The first time it happens, after Patton and Virgil have shown of their teamwork, Virgil raises his hand for a high five, and Patton, ecstatic, reaches his hand over towards Virgil to complete the high five.

Now, this video is full of beautiful moxiety moments, but there’s one that stood out to me that’s a little less than lovely. (I don’t have screenshots since it’s during the puppet scene, and the expressions are hard to read in a still. If you watch the moment, you can tell through Virgil’s sock puppet movement what he’s thinking, but it’s impossible to capture that in one frame)

When Virgil tells Thomas not to start thinking that Logan’s suggestion is a good one because he has “plenty of hate to go around,” Patton immediately goes “Aw, very funny Virgil, you cute little muffin! Thomas, you know he doesn’t mean it,” before launching into his next idea. And you can SEE Virgil’s puppet real back a little bit, hunch in on himself ever so slightly. That comment bothered him. 

So later when Patton says “This just goes to show you that it’s better to talk about your feelings than keep them inside!” you can see him thinking, running  through his options, weighing the pros and cons of saying something. 

But Patton’s his best friend, and he doesn’t want to feel bad when he thinks about his best friend, so he does the hard thing, the right thing, and says something. 

And it is hard, you see him struggle through it, you see him trip over his words as he tries to find a way to say it that won’t hurt Patton’s feelings, because the last thing he wants is to make Patton feel bad. 

And Patton, he gets it! He does…but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t sting a little, cuz that’s kinda how he shows his love, by laying on the affection thick. 

But he doesn’t want to hurt his best friend, so okay, if this is what Virgil needs, he can do it. It’ll be…different, but that’s okay, right?

What really gets me is when Roman says “Looks like Thomas wasn’t the only one who needed to learn something new about himself!” Look at their faces. 

To me, I think they’re both thinking the same thing. They’re both worried that this relationship that’s meant so much to them might be ruined because of what they did, Patton for treating Virgil in a way that sometimes makes him uncomfortable, and Virgil for bringing it up in the first place. Virgil knows that Patton would feel bad if he knew that Virgil felt bad, especially if Patton was that reason, so he’s wondering if he made the right call. Patton is wondering how long this has been going on, if it has always made him upset and he never said, and he’s been making Virgil feel bad this whole time! 

But here’s the thing, I don’t think Virgil has always minded. I’m going to steal from @randomslasher‘s comments on the matter because they said it perfectly: Virgil doesn’t need Patton to do all the work anymore. Once upon a time, Patton’s outreach was the only thing that Virgil had, in terms of positive interactions with the others, but that’s not the case anymore. 

I think that back in the old days, Virgil maybe even liked it when Patton would treat him as though he was soft, because Patton wasn’t scared of him, but he still listened. And that’s really what Virgil wanted, to be able to be himself, to not have to terrify the others just for them to hear him out. But things aren’t like that anymore, the others love him, and they know he’s not the bad guy. 

But Patton is still kinda in that mode of “Don’t be mean to my son, don’t take the dark things he says and think he’s the villain, don’t treat him like he’s less than,” which really comes across when he calls Virgil a “cute little muffin.” Usually when Patton calls Virgil cute, it’s because he did something cute. Even before the redemption arc, he didn’t call Virgil cute if he made a threat, he called Virgil cute when he looked like Talyn, etc. And he says it so quickly here too, and jumps immediately into “Thomas, you know he doesn’t mean it,” as if to say “don’t cast him out again, don’t take his threats seriously, he’s not the bad guy here.” 

Except, Virgil’s words do need to be taken seriously. And now that he’s accepted, it’s actually even more important for him to be listened to if he gets darker, because he saves that now for the things that really scare him. Logan and Virgil are really close friends, but Virgil straight up says (in the light sort of tone friends use with each other when their literal words are hyperbole, but still with very real meaning behind them) that he kinda hates Logan a little and that he needs to shut his mouth. This is a BIG deal to him, so when Patton says “you know he doesn’t mean it…” 

No. Virgil does mean it, not that he’ll actually hate Thomas, but that he hates this idea, a lot, and that he’ll hate it if that’s the path they decide to take. Virgil has agency as a side now that he didn’t have before, and if he wants to keep that agency, he needs to be able to say things his way without being sugar coated. 

But then later, after Patton has agreed to stop babying Virgil so much, Thomas mentions that he owes both Virgil and Patton for helping him push to work through the issue. And Virgil smiles, looks over at Patton (a little hesitantly) and says “Like we said, a dynamic duo.”

Then he raises a hand, and this time he asks, “high five?” 

You can see the unspoken question lingering in his eyes, “are we still okay?” And Patton responds with an enthusiastic “Sock it to me!” 

And now, the part that’s messy. The part that could imply angst. The part where Patton reaches out…

But so does Virgil, and now they’re missing each other as they go by.

(hello, Thomas) 

And yeah, it’s messy, it’s weird, it’s awkward, it’s not as smooth as it was the first time, most of all it’s unfamiliar (like their relationship after this change)

Until finally (hello again Thomas)

But what I really love about this part is the dialogue between them. 

P: Oh!  V: Oh…. P: Ok…hold up… V: Uh… P: I didn’t know you were gonna do it too…  V: Yeah, no, I thought I’d go in this time… P: Ok, hold up…I got it  V: Wait… P: Ok… V: *whispers* ow  P: Oh! I’m sorry– V: *gently* No, it’s okay, I– ow  P: Alright, we can fix this (I think that’s what he said? This is the only one I’m not sure about, Thomas was talking over him)  V: Annnnd…. P: Got it!  V: Ok. Yeah!  P: *laughs*  V: Figured it out.  P: Just took a second. 

They’re not just an uncoordinated mess, they’re a mess who’s figuring it out together, and who’s willing to put in the work it takes to make it right. Sometimes it hurts, but the pain is worth it for the end goal. When they’re fumbling, Virgil still smiles at Patton, and tells him it’s okay, as Patton does his best to fix what’s wrong.

And when it’s over, they smile, but they look contemplative too. 

“Figured it out”

“Just took a second”

They know now that things will be a little different, their dynamic won’t be quite what it used to be anymore, but once they figure it out, it will actually be better. They’ll be on equal footing, each moving across towards each other to complete their high five, making each other and Thomas stronger. 

So yes, the high five is messy because their relationship is messy. But it’s not messy because it’s bad, it’s messy because it’s new, it’s growing and changing and when they’re done, our dynamic duo will be stronger than ever before!

More RPG video game ideas

What I want in a game.

Oh, just some simple stuff, your basic story-driven strategy MMORPGFPS with PVP MOBA and PVE sandbox elements. I get the value of the “do one thing and do it well” ethic… but what about take a little of the best of everything? And add to it?

Specifically, though, I want these things:

Rogue Play.

I want Rogue characters and abilities to matter even in FPS environments. You don’t just go to the spot and shoot the lads, you go to the spot but there’s only one gate so you disguise yourself as the enemy and infiltrate the spot but then your disguise isn’t adequate for the inner circle so you sneak unseen to the basement and pick the lock and go in and steal the blueprints to the spot so your team can have the map on their radar and then you pick the officer’s pockets for the gate key and go let your team inside… to shoot the lads. I want passes and papers so rogues can make forgeries. I want to sit in the darkness and spy on characters to discover where the caravan route will be; you know, for robbing. I want lock picking and pocket picking to be micro game actions that you can have real skill in - bump the button wrong and you alert the person or line the skeleton key up wrong and break the lock. I want rogues to be good at setting, seeing, and dismantling traps, better at finding secret passages. I want assassins and snipers to be played as a part of team strategy, deployed to counter the enemy’s top player or cover the open space between bunkers. Snipers with rifles should be able to one-shot, assassins with a blade should be able to one-hit someone from behind, you just have to do things to balance that out: give them a lot of hiding and movement bonuses and keep their health small, so they have to sneak in or stay far away undetected; make the crit spots challenging to hit, things like that.

Team Leadership

I want an FPS where you are a team leader over NPCs, and can be one of several such groups on a team of players. I want to play an FPS where you strategize, a game for which Where, When, and WHETHER you shoot are all considerations. I want half the strategy to be how you deploy, utilize, and order your NPC squadron. 

I want a game where you do battle but you don’t actually kill anyone. Like, they have in-game/in-story cannon respawns. I want to be able to explore and make friends and make enemies and experience revenge and fame and go on quests and adventures and defend my home from attack and I want to acquire resources and goods and gear and be able to gift, trade, and sell those things and become rich and open a business and have a home - I want to be able to squirrel myself away in a cave somewhere or build a grand castle. I want to be able to set up my castle with guardians and traps knowing other players may come by to test my defenses. See, I don’t want skyrim, I want skyrim where half the characters you encounter are being played by other players. I want SIMS Battle, where everyone’s Sims interact.  I want to be able to not just fight wild animals, but have a neutral encounter, and even tame them. I want to be able to meet an enemy, see that they are fighting off the same horde as I, and make a temporary truce that leads to a lasting peace between me and them. I want a game where I can learn about other cultures and lifeforms… first through observation, then tentative contact, then immersion.

I want a game where i can explore playing with any number of natural abilities found here on earth; use bubbles to dive, and sting with poison, fly by gliding, spin silk traps and trip wires, change color to hide…

I want a game where I can explore playing with any number of imagined technologies; teleporters and force fields and hospital sarcophagi that operate and regenerate and use organic materials to 3D print…

I want a game where i can explore any number of magical powers and fantasy realities; hell-beasts and angels and zombies and witches and elemental avatars, elves, dragons, and dwarves.

I want a game wherein I can have social power over NPCs and social interaction with player characters. I want a game that allows me to go into battle or business as an active leader

Therefore: animals and aliens: encountering, hunting, befriending -

Firstly, each faction must have a bastion of natural environment, wherein animals specific to each reside within a reasonable ecology suited to them. Humans in Starsys 9 terraform nearby moons, where cities and parkish wilds can be found, as well as vast empty spaces. The alien coalition has huge colony ships that contain interlocking niche environments and overlapping territories, suited for the quasi-wild populations of various alien species that travel with them. Dimens have access to the hellish dimensions of their previous conquests (from which various humanoid and/or mythical creatures originate, such as elves, dwarves, giants, devils, were-creatures, goblins, mer-folk, harpies, etc) and can visit those realms via rift, portal, and teleportation - each of which offer an opportunity for various inter-dimensional creatures to arrive on the main planetoid of Starsys 9 (or indeed, anywhere). Some humans illegally land colony “pioneer” “ark” or “wagon” ships, which allow earth-origin flora and fauna opportunity for embarkment in the starsys 9 wilds. And the alien coalition just brings their everything with them, full invasion style.

Secondly, a small range of communication must be made inherently available to every type of character, with which to signal intent and disposition, possibly a yes/no, a stop/go, point/wave or calm/threaten. Additionally, creatures met in the wild should have an adjustable mood or wildness/tameness – excerpt from my background notes on Starsys 9, my RPG project. you can find more on my website

So i went on a date to a haunted house and made friends with the girls behind us. As we’re going through, one of them is holding my hand and a guy leaps out and separates us. I panic as my date is pulling me along, I reach back for her and grab her hand in a group of three other performers and start getting out if there. After a bit I look back to check on her and I discover I’m holding the hand of a six foot tall zombie creature and not a 5'2" girl.

Cue the most terrifying realization of my life.

I had basically kidnapped this performer from his section and abandoned the girl and her friend behind us.
