Hi. <3 I saw your post on twitter regarding not being a huge fan of Mando clones, and I was wondering why that is? Just curiosity lmao, because I can never decide if I like the "mando-fied" clones or not, so I was curious about your reasoning.

Hmm 🤔...! I have no strong feelings about it, I can consume mando clone content just fine.

I guess over the years of being exposed to different interpretations, I realised that the concept of "clones developing their own unique culture" is more compelling to me; it opens up more opportunities for different "clone-specific" ideas (explorations of identity, purpose, conflict etc.) that I really enjoy, in place of the more established Mandalorian culture.

That's also not to say I can't appreciate Mando clones, since it is the norm! You don't have to decide if you like it or not, just go by day-to-day vibes anon!!!!

going from the reddit star wars fandom to the tumblr star wars fandom is giving me insane whiplash. the upside is that people aren’t bitching about every single imperfect detail in the entire franchise, but the downside is that i’ve seen more fanart of obi wan and commander cody tenderly knowing each other than i have ever wanted to in my life in the last three hours and it has probably fundamentally altered the way i interact with the entire franchise

In begging, please tell me about the Mafia AU!!!!

Not sure what to reveal first 😳! The setting is timeless-- think film noir meets cyberpunk in that star-wars-underbelly kind of way.

It's no secret that the city of Coruscant is run by the long established gangs since it's founding (think old money).

Over generations, newer gangs sprout but rarely ever take root, except for "The Super Bodacious Fett Gang" (name pending). They are steeped in the customs of mafia tradition which it part of what they attribute to their underdog success.

Cody is (currently being heavily considered as) the heir to this crime syndicate, currently being headed by his father and the organisation's patriarch, Jango Fett. Cody was born into this life and takes the creed very seriously.

Obi-Wan/Ben is a Coruscanti native who moved to Alderaan for college to become an ER nurse, and is where he also had his residency for several years afterwards (Alderaani Medical, the monogram on his college jacket that he still wears to this day). In this setting, Obi-Wan moves back to Coruscant for family, but immediately throws himself back into work.

This is where our unknowing lovebirds meet! Cody, for all of his trips to the ER (whether for himself of his brothers) notices Obi-Wan as being a new nurse in the triage and is almost immediately smitten... And Obi-Wan is too cranky and tired for dating anyone, let alone stern and "flirtatious" gangsters.

There's a lot more trope-filled story beats I have for this AU but there's some other things I wanna hash out and I kinda wanna save the story for a project 🙊?

I only pay for movies that I know will be a bop, so the last movie I saw in theatres was in 2022-- Dragon Ball Super: Superhero!!! And the movie I saw in theatres before that was 2019... Dragon Ball Super: Broly!!!!!!!! So I suppose they are my one and only recent favourites!

What do you usually wear?

I cannot stop buying graphic tees... I've tried to add more real clothes to my wardrobe but i guess it's just graphic tees and jeans for me for the rest of my life.

How tall are you?

5'0" or maybe 5'1"? I've never ever measured my height, so I've lived by this estimate purely based on my friend saying "you're about the same height as my mum", so of course it must be true.

Sagittarius! In the interest of keeping my birthday mysterious, some famous Sagittarians are Britney Spears, Samuel L. Jackson, and the incomparable Tina Turner (RIP QUEEN!!!!)

Surprisingly, a children's book writer and illustrator. Not sure if that's a realistically delightful or grim dream job for a kid.

No favourites! Just draw, forget about it, and draw some more. Such is the experience of the ADHD artist.

More codywan... MORE CODYWAN...!!! MORE...!!!!!!!!!!! I have also have so many ""plot bunny"" ideas, I need to find a way to manifest them before i explode.

What’s something you’re currently obsessed with?

There was a few months near the end of last year where I kinda fell out of star wars/codywan, but the brain rot has come back with a vengeance (i'm paying for that lost time now).

What’s something you were excited about that turned out to be disappointing this year?

I don't want to get haters yelling at my front door so I plead the fifth 🤐.

What’s a hidden talent of yours?

I can imitate George Lucas' speech pattern pretty poorly, but I think it's good enough to be impressive.

What book are you currently reading?

The Writing Revolution...I can't in good conscience recommend it unless you also happen to find yourself as a teacher trying to capture teenagers' imaginations and get them to produce complete sentences! Hahahaha. Miserable toil.

What’s your favourite movie you saw in theatres this year?

Ooh, this one's easy--The Little Mermaid!! I have seen it with my family twice and then with my friends once. (I felt a little freer to lust after Prince Eric when my husband and two children weren't sitting there with me...)

These days, some form of athleisure. During the school year, I've been told my teacher style is "Jessica Day if she didn't care so much" and...that about sums it up.

Did you grow up to become what you wanted to be when you were a child?

Absolutely not. I wanted to be a lawyer my entire life. My undergrad was pre-law and then life had other plans for me and now I'm teaching 8th grade American History. And LOVING IT. I start grad school in the fall and I'll be getting my Principal's Certification with that, so I suppose I'm in this education world for the long haul.

Oh my. I haven't written as much as I'd like to this year (although I'm hoping to post something before the weekend!!) so I'm choosing to interpret this as the last 12 months. Maybe this bit from walking by her side, talking by her side, have pity?

Ur mom. Okay...sorry. Ahem. I've been sewing more lately. I used ot dabble in high school, but I'm finding more motivation to make things for my toddler than I did to make things for myself.

The weather recently! It was supposed to rain the past couple weeks and we've not gotten much more than a few minutes of sprinkling. I looooove rainy days, so that's bummed me out quite a bit.

I'm excellent at whistling. It's completely useless, but I'll get compared to a Disney princess occasionally, so I guess that's something.
