once you stop shaving, it becomes so deeply dystopian to step outdoors (especially in the summer time) and realise that you are the only female with hairy legs
you can pass by hundreds of young girls and women in shorts and skirts, with freshly shaven legs
you wonder how long they have to spend on a daily basis shaving their legs, how physically and mentally taxing it must be, how expensive it must get, how bad for the skin it must be, and more
and, then you start to recognise that this was you not so long ago too
you feel grateful for your own emancipation
however, there’s a dark side to it too
once you decondition yourself to become comfortable in your own perfectly fine, female body, it’s an agony to see so many girls and women still trapped inside these misogynistic, pedophilic and capitalistic beauty standards
for anyone on the fence about deciding whether to stop shaving: your visible hairy legs make it easier and more permissible for other girls and women to stop shaving too
i have personally never had anyone outright comment on my leg hair to me, and not shaving was nowhere near as daunting as i thought it would be
it feels so good to be free from this prison, even if it still saddens me to see so many other innocent girls and women groomed into this prison

not a Jenny Schecter defender nor apologist. I am a Jenny Schecter PROPAGANDIST. if Jenny has a million fans, then I am one of them. if Jenny has ten fans, then I am one of them. if Jenny has only one fan then that is me. if Jenny has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. if the world is against Jenny, then I am against the world.
