My book club just recently reviewed Priest by Sierra Simone!

Decided to pick up the Pestilence audio since it was on sale at audible for a bit of a re-read before I pick up the next book in the series, War. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve read this book but I remember liking this one. I think I gave it five stars, I wonder if that will change lol

Our discord book club recently read Little Stranger! We all had such a good time listening to this story together! We are already finishing up voting on the next two books we’re gonna for April. There’s still time to join in on the fun!

This book is an easy 5 out of 5 stars. In fact, this is like 6 stars. I ate this book up! I was already really excited to read it from everything that I had been hearing about it and it did not disappoint in the slightest bit! I am in LOVE with the Graves brothers (moreso Zayden if I’m being really honest). Like I have never come across a golden retriever psychopath before and omg. And honeslty, I really loved the FMC and how the author wrote her. Even with the unique attribute of her FMC she never fixated on her looks and she had a really cool personality, like I would love to be friends with Blake irl. I wish I could erase this from my brain and read it all over again. Even with the ending being a trope that I usually hate, I really loved it, it made me want to cry a little but tbh because I was so happy lol. I’m 10000000% going to be buying the audiobook as well.

I’m going with a 4.5 most because of Joe Arden’s narration. I did like that while this is one of the smuttiest books I’ve ever read, there was still a pretty decent plot. It didn’t just get lost in the smut. I like that the plot itself was such a heavy subject that rarely ever gets discussed. The reason it’s not a full 5 stars is because the author could just not bring herself to stop talking about how white the FMC is and it was pretty eye roll inducing. Other than that though I loved the story and I love love love Aero Westwood. I wanted to hug him and hold him so many times.

So, I’m listening to Corrupt by Penelope Douglas and truthfully I’m finding it hard to continue. I’m already slightly bothered by it not being not being a duet because the female and male narrators “boy” and “girl” voice just kill it for me, BUT the FMC is pissing me off beyond belief. I find her to be a spoiled out of touch rich kid who claims her mother taught her how to be self sufficient but she was taken care of by another rich family and given everything she wanted. To the point she judged another woman for making her way through college however she could. Additionally, it’s pissing me off that she keeps playing stupid and being like “why are you doing this” like SHE didn’t send these men who she knew were crazy to jail!!! Like girl, are you serious? Idk I’m struggling to finish this cause, I kinda wanna fight her myself 😒

this isn’t a dark romance but if you like a good rivals to lovers, fantasy-ish wlw story, i would like to suggest a dark and drowning tide. it’s a simple story and definitely not like a masterpiece but i think this story is so cute. it made me giggle and kick my feet for sure
