I'm not going to pretend like I know how to draw hands or hair, so bare with me.
I could draw one of them every single day, but I don't want y'all to think I'm insufferable about them (I am tho).

Hello everybody with summer fast approaching here is your regular reminder that:
Everyone needs to wear sunscreen
SPF 50 is pretty much the best protection you can get, an SPF higher than that will have the same effect
Melanin does not protect you from skin cancer
Tanning is caused by exposure to ultraviolet radiation
Spending the majority of your life receiving regular large doses of UV radiation without any skin protection is a good way to get skin cancer
Don't use tanning beds, and don't go sun tanning
Wear your fucking sunscreen

I’ve had this idea for a while now, I don’t know where it came from but I really want to write something with it but I just don’t have the drive to do it I guess, so I’m just gonna put it out into the world in this format.
I call it the Chase and it’s this idea of an older tradition where before a pair become married/mates one of the partners, typically the Omega, runs off either into the woods or maybe some sort of controlled environment. The other partner, typically an Alpha or Beta, gives them a head start before chasing after them and trying to catch them.
In my mind I think it originated more as a way for an Omega to refuse a mate they didn’t want, so the Omega runs off into the woods and if they can hide from the Alpha an entire night they wouldn’t have to mate with them. I feel like the traditional reason for the Chase doesn’t really happen anymore because arranged marriages don’t happen as often as they used to. Those who take part in a modern version of the Chase do it because they see it as romantic or maybe think it has some kind of sexual thrill to it or even just do so as a family tradition the same way you might marry in the same church your parents did or wear your grandma’s wedding dress.
I don’t know, I just think something like that would be interesting and I’d like to see more Omegaverse wedding rituals ideas.

Hello! I would like to ask about headcanons of superstitions or cultural practices that aren't neccesarily superstitions but based in folklore or history. Like items worn for protection, that kind of thing. Thank youa
YES yes you may ask for this. Again and again and again.
1. Keep rice in your pocket or close to your heart: people will often have lockets with a single grain of rice in them or have sewn a small pouch (tiny) of rice into their left pocket. This comes from the fear in ancient times that when one would travel, they would run out of food, or that they may meet another hungry voyager. Giving other people food is a big part of their honor culture, it is seen as very honorable and it's rude to not accept food from another. So, rice symbolizes protection, generosity, and virtue. Those who are very traditional may carry a large handful of rice in their pocket at all times.
2. A drop of your mate's slick: This one is for protection while away from your mate, and to keep your bond strong. You will take a drop of your omega's slick and dab it on the back of your neck. Not only will this put their scent on you for others to smell, but it will protect and bond you wherever you go.
3. A bead made from your mother's wedding ring: When the eldest child in the family turns eighteen, the mother will melt down her wedding ring and made small golden beads, one for each of her children. When they come of age they will be given a bead on a small golden chain to wear around their neck as a symbol of heritage, a mother's protection, the unity of a pack and family.
Let me know if you want more! These were fun!

not “oh my god it’s just a tv show” as in you are not allowed to find genuine joy and form a true connection to fiction, but “oh my god it’s just a tv show” as in, if it legitimately stresses you out and impacts your mood when things don’t happen exactly the way you want them to, and it causes you to lash out at other - real - people, maybe you need to take a massive step back.

"claiming these two characters were queerbaited/queercoded implies that you can't be close with your friends without it being romantic." No it does not. Not it fucking does not. You know why? Because while fiction undoubtedly reflects life, it in no way is an accurate representation of it. Life makes terrible fiction because it's messy, illogical, and almost never has a satisfying ending.
When constructing a story writers always take certain liberties. In this case, writers will use certain romantic beats that in real life don't mean anything. For example, today me and someone I know both reached for the same pencil and our hands brushed. This means absolutely nothing, of course. It's literally just a coincidence. But in fiction, everything happens for a reason, and this kind of thing only happens when writers are gearing up for a romantic subplot.
In real life we also don't have things like score or framing techniques to indicate what is and isn't romantic. These kinds of moments are especially interesting because the characters aren't choosing to add romantic score or lighting to a scene. They aren't intentionally editing things with romantic implications. That's the writers, choosing to add all of those things because it's one of the many ways they cue the audience in on the tension between these characters.
When you point out the fact that these tropes are being utilized, you're not implying that these moments in real life are inherently romantic. All that you're doing is drawing attention to these tropes.
In an ideal world, two characters can have a close and meaningful friendship, and we don't see relationship beats used exclusively for romance. But we need to acknowledge that we weren't in that world when queerbaiting was at its peak, and we're still not in it now
Side note: this is why real people can't queerbait. In real life, every relationship and every person is different and it's insanely dangerous to treat real people as though they are equivalent to characters in a TV show.

URGENT EVICTION HELP
Tumblr media
Hey guys? I could really use some help paying rent this month. My court date to be evicted is on the 21st of June. My boyfriend lost his job recently, and his workplace is refusing to pay him
I… really need help. I don’t have much food. My blood sugar is always out of wack because I’m not eating.I’m… running out of options. I need help. Please. Even a share helps.
I can’t work because my back is really messed up but the disability process where I live can take YEARS.
Another thing: I have an emotional support cat and I really don’t want to give her up but I’m not gonna make her live out of a car. I’m really scared of losing her.
Please help if you can.

The thing about ADHD is that the "lack of reward chemicals in your brain" doesn't just mean that you don't want to do any tasks that don't feel particularly yummy :(, it means that your brain will look at chores and tasks that need to be done like "doing this would be painful and tedious for absolutely nothing to gain from it, Do Not Do That." The same thing that your brain tells you about everything else that would feel really bad and hurt the entire time that you're dying. The part of your brain that stops you from doing the thing is the same part that keeps you from shoving your arm into a wood chipper.
With unmedicated, unmanaged ADHD, "I have to do this assignment or I fail and my life will be ruined and I die" feels like a SAW trap, every single time.
