They weren’t late for the TES Gala, Darra and Teldryn were there all this time in the Sovngarde event lingering in front of the buffet.
2025 @tes-gala : Daedra and Divines.
Darra is in theme as a dragon priest embodying a mortal form of Alduin as the Atmorans would have acknowledged them. Teldryn wears the snake of Boethiah (but it can also be interpreted as the symbol of Orkey. He doesn’t really care.)
They walk in among all the well-dressed people and look like cultists. This was clearly a mistake.
Teldryn has to leave his sword at the door, but he gets to keep his knife. Darra carried in an embroidered but completely empty bag that is waterproofed inside. (Red carpet? What red carpet? The only red that matters is the free flowing red wine.)
On the real-world equivalent for the clothing:
All woven patterns are (crudely) drawn from and inspired by T’nalak weaving, plus this sick dragon obi i saw on Yahoo auctions.
Darra’s garb is inspired by sarong. Teldryn’s is a mix of deel, salwar kameez, and keffiyeh.

WELP I very much did not finish the fic I was writing for TES Gala. I do plan on posting it when it's finished, but in the meantime I can share the thing I did finish: A pattern for a tablet-woven Eye of Nocturnal belt!
I started getting interested in tablet weaving about a year ago after falling down a viking clothing rabbit hole, and this past christmas my very lovely older sibling got me some basic supplies and I've been noodling around with it for a while now! As previously noted, I am a strong believer that the Thieves' Guild symbol used in Skyrim is meant to represent the Eye of Nocturnal. My evidence:
It kinda looks like an eye.
The Skyrim guild has long running ties to Nocturnal.
That's it.
Since the theme of the gala was "Daedra and Divines," I thought I should make use of this compelling evidence (and weaponize my obsession with my guildmaster LDB Mailie) and do... something with that. And therein lies the connection: Tablet weaving is very good at symmetrical geometric designs, and the Guild shadowmark is just that.
(p.s. if you're super confused about wtf I'm talking about, check out Lady Elewys of Finchingefeld for info on tablet weaving. It's overall a pretty inexpensive craft and very fun. TL;DR, it's a form of weft-faced weaving that's been practiced pretty much globally, but is frequently associated strongly with the viking era.)
I decided that when Mailie attended The Gala™️, she would wear a belt woven with the Eye. While she has complicated feelings about her status as a Nightingale, her relationship with Nocturnal is one of mutual respect. Furthermore, the Guild is incredibly important to Mailie, and I think she would relish the opportunity to represent it, even in a rather subtle way.
This has already ended up longer than I intended, so I'm putting the info on the pattern itself under the cut.
The version of the pattern I'm focusing on here is probably not wide enough to make a belt, unless you used very thick thread or were okay with a very thin belt. I wove a couple inches with laceweight cotton crochet thread, and it's about 1.3 cm/0.5 in wide. You could easily add some extra stripes on the outside to make it thicker if desired.
You can find the pattern here on twisted threads, or I've included some images below.
Threading chart
Weaving design
Woven band
(side note: I learned a different notation for threading than what twisted threads uses and that caused some confusion when I went to weave, so be aware of that if you happen to try this out for yourself. this pattern should work if you actually do your set up the way the website tells you to and don't try to wing it like me.)
The end design is not a perfect representation of the shape I'm going for, but I think to get a more elongated design you need to either have a pattern way beyond my ability to design or use 6-holed tablets. Regardless, I'm not doing that. While not perfect, I think this gets the idea across.
If you've made it this far, thanks for reading! I'm going to put up another version of this post on my main which includes the more complex version I made of this design, which I will link here when posted. Enjoy a picture of my attempt at this as your reward for reading my long ass post. Mistakes were made.

Fus Ro Draw!
Throwback art! I drew skyrim dragons with a pen. Then I drew the dragon shouts, and used a photocopier to adjust the size to make up the whole background. It is the battle between Alduin and Paarthurnax.

📜 1. “The Pilgrim’s Crossroads”
🌄 Loredas, 25th of Last Seed, 3E 433 The wind from the Jerall Mountains cut sharp against my cloak as I neared the borderlands. I had spent the last fortnight walking the ridge trails above Chorrol, praying at the hidden shrines scattered through the Colovian Highlands. Now, the trail bent east, toward Weynon Priory and, soon after, the Imperial City.
My boots were worn, but my resolve was whole. I carried only a pack, a prayerbook, and faith.
I arrived at the priory just before dusk. Brother Piner offered me simple bread and a wordless nod. The monks’ chants echoed gently beneath the stone arches, and I found comfort in the modest shrine of Stendarr. No gilding. No pomp. Just stone, moss, and faith. I stayed there long after the candles burned low.
That night, I dreamed of fire.
The sky was torn open, bleeding crimson above broken mountains. Creatures spilled forth, twisted, seething things with no mercy in their eyes. I stood alone in a narrow pass, a silver warhammer in my hands, thrumming like a second heartbeat.
When I woke before dawn, the dream clung to me like a shroud. A warning. A calling. I cannot say.
Tomorrow I go to the Imperial City. I hoped to join the guilds, perhaps tend the Chapel of Talos… but something deeper stirs. My path is not mine alone anymore.
Let the Divines judge me worthy. Let Stendarr watch my steps.

I want to post some of the things I didn't before, so take a tiny thiefgiard snippet I wrote two or three years ago.
Would be early in the timeline if it goes anywhere. Lecrinn's the one talking first.

“Since I happen to be in town anyway, do you want to get dinner later if you’re free?”
“And if I’m not free,” he started slowly, eyes gaining a playful glint “am I going to be anyway?”
She looked down with laughing smile. “I mean… you don’t have to if you don’t want to.”
“No, that’s not what I meant,” he said quickly, almost worried before smiling again. “I would love to.”
She smiled back up at him.

Arrival of Sheogorath?
~ @tes-gala 2025 - Day 1 ~
...
"...Is something wrong?"
...
With the revelation that no one could see His outfit as He intended it - and furthermore, that the Altmer running the show were quite displeased with His too-mad presence - Lord Sheogorath had returned to the Shivering Isles with Haskill, dejected.
"Oh, Haskill..."
"I know, sire."
"It's ridiculous!" Sheogorath huffed, shaking out His hands. "You can't hold a party about Daedra and then fail to host those Daedra - how utterly rude, ridiculous, nonsensical!"
Haskill sighed, "I did warn You this was a possibility..."
Sheogorath barrelled on, "Do you know - of course you know - how long it took Me to get all of that elytra silk?! Oh, My darlings, they did so well - and no one can even appreciate it! And the amber-"
Haskill nodded solemnly, as Sheogorath continued ranting. "Dumag gro-Bonk, you know, he made sure it was the highest quality of amber in... in... well, everywhere! Such a gem, that one. He always knows just the right things to say to butter Me up..."
"And so what if I drive a few people Mad! Oh, what a glorious life they'd lead! I could see it in that one's eyes, that sweet little Maormer. Wouldn't she be such a treat among Us..."
"I understand. But perhaps, if I may..." Haskill cleared his throat, "I don't believe it would take many adjustments."
"I don't want any adjustments!" Sheogorath banged His fist on the arm of His throne, "I want them to see Me as I am now!"
Haskill pondered - Lord Sheogorath had been quite excited for this event, keeping obsessive track of the Tamrielic calendar just to ensure He wouldn't miss it. There had to be a way...
"It's been so long since I last could properly manifest! And finally, finally they gave Me a chance, a real invitation - and they couldn't even handle Me!"
"Perhaps," Haskill interjected, "I could take on aspects that You might have to otherwise discard. No work is wasted, then - simply changed in form."
Sheogorath's hands fell to His lap, considering the offer. He didn't... like it, per se, but in reality He didn't want to give up on this just yet. Maybe Haskill was right, and there was a way through this...
"...You'd do that for Me?"
"I would do anything for You, my Lord."

kitty, the last dragonborn, joining @tes-gala representing the dragon god of time. joined by her (very, Very reluctant) husband (who is only here because she promised him lots of both sex and alcohol. there… IS an open bar at the gala, right? right?)
her moms breton and her dads altmer, she was born in summerset but lived most of her youth in cyrodiil before moving north (and getting caught trying to cross the border. we all know how that one goes)
the idea of the little wings on the lower back is shamelessly plucked from the dreadwyrm/summoner gear in ffxiv. o7 anyone who picked that up
little hourglass motifs on the armor and dress
the husband is kaidan :3c
