tbh all i want is someone to watch and make fun of the live action transformers movies with. but all my friends are not into transformers

Transformers is different from other war based stories because it's so incredibly fucking petty. No matter how gritty and miserable you try and depict war in transformers these motherfuckers are so hard to kill that they practically live foreevrr. They all know each other. Like you don't just hate starscream because he's an enemy Decepticon or even because he's a powerful enemy Decepticon. You hate him as an individual because that' stupid asshole has blown you up four times and also he called you tacky three years ago and he NEVER notices your new paint job and-

Like they're all fighting a war for sure but literally every character knows each other personally and has deeply personal beef with each other so every single fight turns from a run of the mill battle for resources into a really specific squabble over a seven decade old argument that has devolved into mindless slap fighting and insults and both parties are unkillable war machines

tbh (after going down a deep transformers art rabbit hole) i think learning how to draw mechs with improve my art considerably
