My Analysis tool: DOCS model: Design, Organization, Content, Style, and Values.
My claim: The author has effectively written the biography and revealed his own message which may influence many young people to strive for better future and success.
 Design
·         Layout
Numerous headings emphasizing the main points of the paragraphs are highlighted in bold. This particular design is effective because even if the audience is not familiar with the whole text, it becomes easy to identify the topic by looking through the headings only. Due to the number of titles above each paragraph, the plot and aim of the text will still be clear for the audience.
    ·         Visual Aid
There is a photo of Bill Gates shown at the top of the page in order to visually represent how the person looks.  Under general information about Bill Gates, a gallery is placed revealing various photos concerning Bill Gates and his life events. Visualizing the written information is very effective in order to help the audience capture main life achievements of Gates. Under each paragraph, there is another effective visual aid – videos. Different aspects from entrepreneur’s life are revealed in the videos.  The use of images contributes to the effectiveness because not only the text but images and videos create a picture in the audience’s mind. As study shows, readers often skip written information and pay more attention to the visual aid, so articles that contain visual aid gain effectiveness and are more readable.

 Style
·         Modals& Tone
The overall language is simple and plain intended for general audience. The tone is non-emotional, semi-formal and very informative. No modal verbs like “must”, “can” are not used in the biography, that is characteristic to the genre – biography.
·         Grammar Tense & adjectives
As characteristic to this genre, biography is written in the past tenses, for example: “Bill gates was born in 1955”, “He was awarded the order of Aztec Eagle”.
