Come on, come on (come on, come on)
Summmary week 8
Oh well, what can I say?! We are having fun together with @valeorlandi and @andreardme-blog working on the final project.
youtube
Final project
Complexity of the project is challenging but not overwhelming. Our client is extremally nice and open. It makes the work even more pleasant and make us want to go the extra mile! I have never expected the project to roll this way.
Dream team
The best thing is that we know our team quite well, we get to work in a real face to face situation, and we have a mini culture within a group already. I love our morning coffees, lunches and evening patatas bravas ❤ I appreciate the distance we have to the world and ourselves that allows us to go trough ups and downs with a smile on our faces no matter what.
Time for more action
I cannot wait to make the next step into the UX world and take the first project. I think that looking for the job can be as exciting (and challenging) as bootcamp itself. The book "User experience team of one" was a good read. It helped me realize that there is no time to waste on impostor syndrome, there are so many ways to grow in UX we just need to be willing to notice opportunities.

Final individual project week 2
Summary of the week
Although this week was very stressful, it was suuuper nice. One quite universal rule that I rediscovered is: the less, the better. I focused on the essentials in my project and got really good feedback. Also, I will remember Friday with almost all the colleagues in the campus el meneaito annnd 👇👇👇

Final individual project
I'm super proud of myself I managed to do all I wanted to focus on e.g. UI part and different variations. Also, did super detailed and professional a report.
Cannot wait for the end
I just cannot wait to finish the course. I already have sooo many plans. First of all I would go for long, long vacation, prepare my portfolio, do another course, catch up with all my relatives& friends and, of course, start as a UX!
New project
We already started working on a new project with my dream team 😁 It feels so real because we work for the real client and will get probably review from him after that. I'm so excited seeing a startup project grow. Maybe it will become a big thing in the future.

Final individual project week 1
Summary week 6
I cannot believe that it's almost over! When I look to the past I'm extremely proud. The last time I was studying so hard, with such a passion and devotion was for my final exams at high school. Good times 😁
youtube
Where I stand?
I finally feel that the new world of UX is less foreign to me. I find different fields of UX, like A11Y, AI, UX ethics, UX writing, very interesting. Thanks to brief presentations that we have in the class I notice how much I still need to learn, but I'm glad that I get more aware because it's the basics. Althought my level in UX is still not proficient, I'm able to undentify my weaknesses and I feel emporered to continue my UX jurney on my own.
Individual project
The topic of this project, which is in-company management, is closely connected to my background. I feel more connected to the project probably because it's less abstract to me. Thanks to the experience I gained in my past projects, I managed to do just enought research and converge on time. That's one 9f the biggest wins for me this week 💪. I'm looking to more wins over the weekend.
Campus life
Even thought we cannot be all there I really enjoy a minimal campus life. It's more of a coworking space where I find freedom and soulmates 😁 Freedom because I feel free to work in my pace using all the space I need. And support of the soulmates who are following the same path so that I don't feel alone.

Website redesign
Summary week 5
I'm proud because my team finished the project on time 💪, I faced my expectations and noticed how I improved.

Reflection for this week
We are going through an emotional roller coaster. Everything happens so fast during the bootcamp that it's hard to find time for oneself, slow down and, what is the most important, distance oneself.
Website redesign
This week we were redesigning a website for a local small business. My team chose a website of a restaurant that specializes in Molecular Gastronomy.
Why?
Because as Forbes’s article says:
If you get your website designed wrong, you can easily lose thousands of dollars initially, and ultimately lose even more money in potential revenue that you could be making from a well designed, properly functioning website.
Designing a website is different
This project was way different that other projects that we had so far! It’s different from designing an App. You have less flows but more in information architecture, structure, content, branding and layout. Also, with a big page you have much more place to play with content not as in an App.
The coolest thing I learned
Coding! Even though I had some experience with HTML and a bit CSS I was a biiiigggg challenge to code the whole page using flexboxes. I really enjoyed this part and I learned a lot form other people! I really enjoyed diving into that and exploring it together with my team. I would like to do it much more often because I think it’s a really useful skill. Also, a great brain exercise! I like it more than crosswords or sudoku. Maybe because I see a nice result?
4 weeks to go
I expect the last 4 weeks of Bootcamp to be amazing. I really like that we are going to work with real companies/ people from outside. This will give us confidence and empower us as designers because first times are sometimes like pancakes 🥞.
«Первый блин — комом»
The first pancake is always spoiled.

A yellow App
Summary week 3
End of week 3 = 3 projects DONE! That feels gooood, but it’s still work in progress...

Project no 3
I think I’ve learned a lot from my team this week. As I wrote before be fast and consequent, learn and fail fast. This is not an easy task when you like to understand some processes or new situations. Getting more familiarized with them could help to be more aware of their existence and also help to master them better so that later you can use them as a well developed cognitive tool. When I look behind at every project I participated in so far, I see better imperfections and I understand better my teachers. But this is how it should be, I’m learning and seeing better - that’s a good sign :)
Waiting for the new challenge
New individual project begins with the week no 4. On the on hand I’m very excited, but on the other I just cannot believe how many think I need to prepare myself in such a short time.

I’m like a sommelier
Comment on an article "Learning to See"
"[...] sommeliers are able to more clearly discern what they taste because through constant exposure they have improved senses, and also the vocabulary to express and discuss their impressions." - by AI
I like this comparison to a sommelier 🍷 It makes me think of myself good. This really transmits idea of our perceptual set. I would compare it to competences because I'm more familiar with this naming.
Competences
There are loads of competences in each professional area and it's not an easy thing to develop one. One example would be hearing correct sounds as a language learner but this is just one tiny part of a hearing competence. It’s way more complex. It takes a good amount of time to work on each competence while there are more to become a successful X language speaker.
A sommelier doesn't taste more, s/he is just able to explain it more precisely
Aparently a designer has to develop a sharper eye. Other thing that is important is the ability to make invisible things visible for a client and his “common” eye. But it's not only about eyes its also about communication. We, as designer, need to explain what we see, feel and do in plain words.
Learning to taste more
The best way to learn to see is copying the masters.
Likability is just a feeling, has nothong to do with design and is not debatable. Design is not just aesthetics, it's more. I cam explai it in a simple equation good design = working tool + nice looks. If they go together perfect but if something looks nice but does not work it's just not working.

Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger
2nd week
My deep reflection for this week: Even though I’m super tired (both physically and mentally), I feel stronger and better.
youtube
2nd week of the Bootcamp - summary
Our first individual project was challenging. I had some ups and downs this week. I felt insecure especially when some self-doubting thoughts crossed my mind. This state of might have been caused by the fact that this time I’m out of my comfort zone, but I decided to give myself some space and allowed myself to make mistakes.
This week I got used to the pace of the course. Now I know how to manage my energy and focus better on things that are important. I hope that this will help me go through the next individual project during the week 4 smoothly.
1st individual project
I already know I’m stronger and better at my new skills because we learn everyday so much! I tell myself that as long as I deliver something it’s great and done is better than perfect.
Mini sprint and work
I can compare our mini sprints to work - you need to do your part and it’s totally normal to have some good and bad days. At this stage I’m not able to look at mt work in an objective way and here I trust my teachers. I let them guide me so that I can do better.
Final thought
Friday is a good day to reflect, take notes, and start the next week with new goals. 💪 This time I’ll focus on working harder and faster 😅

Temperature check
1st individual project at IronHack
Our first individual project at IronHack is very rough. I started with a slight delay on my research (survey). So, from the very beginning I felt I'm falling behind. The day before the group crits I thought that I have nothing concrete. Even though I felt bad about my project I decided to take a break from worrying and had a good long night sleep.
But soon I found out the Crits were not a complete waste of my time. I got some interesting pointers and during the session I came up with my first idea for the flow. Just after the Crits I got over the hump and produced my first flow - in minutes!
I do my best
The next day I prepared everything I had and, well, I did my best. I'll say that at the time of my presentation I just finished connecting the dots. Looking at the prototypes of my colleagues made me think that I'm behind, again!
Later, with the campus colleagues, we decided to do some tests with our paper prototypes. This was an amazing idea, so productive, so insightful!
My though for today
This online environment is blocking us in a way. I wish to know people's true feelings and really know what's on their minds, because I cannot read it from the screen. I know it's not easy, but I need more communication. During the first project I found it extremely important to name my feelings and get them out there even if I have not much to say.

Study hard & chill hard
The first week at IronHack was full of challenges that dared me to step out of my comfort zone. On Friday, after presenting a group project, I felt extremely tired but also extremely happy!
After the first week I crave more. The experience we went through the first week of the course is truly amazing. I could describe it as a full immersion or a deep dive into UX. Although this approach might be overwhelming for some, I did not feel lost or alone even for a single second.
The upcoming weeks are going to be intense. I clearly see that the course requires a full commitment. I am willing to devote all my time to take the best out of the course. This is especially because I feel that I am in good hands and I found amazing companions!
Special thanks to @valeorlandi and @orkasandchocolate this week ❤️❤️❤️

The first day
... was so much fun!

I decided to start “the new reality” properly and come to the campus, make some friends and feel alive again! I’m glad I could meet so many cool and like-minded people. I wish they all were here in Barcelona.
Working in an online mode was challenging, but very interesting and engaging. I think that at this point I learned a lot already! We not only explore a theory but also put it into practice working in pairs. This way we practice soft and hard skills.
I wait with impatience for the new challenges - both individual and team projects. Also, I’m very excited to learn more on new tools and methods of working collaboratively in remote.

Hello! Hola! Cześć!
Saying hello to my new network
I'm a girl boss at my own company, living in Barcelona for around 4 years now. I specialize in online marketing and project management. As a former teacher I never stop learning and enjoy working on creative projects what brought me to design!
My curiosity makes me super excited about UX/UI design. There are loads of things that I’m looking forward to discovering. Diving into Design Thinking, Information Architecture or even Typography will give me a thrill.
