Official Cancelation Post
Kind of.
Two people prepayed. The venue and date are now unavailable. My health is currently declining and I'm having to make cuts on what my priorities are and this event seems to have gotten the chop.
I've refunded the prepays I've gotten, despite some recent allegations that I have been stealing money through Paypal. These events take money and  I wasn't asking you guys to pay all of it individually. Just $30 per person, if you prepay in a timely fashion (which is what an event like this needs).
The show will however go on. I have offered the blog and ideas and theme up to the official ATLstuck officers and they were happy to accept the job. They will be redoing the event and doing whatever they wish with it. The bottom line is that I, as the organizer, will no longer be as intimately involved. I've given them my notes and my plans and it is up to them what the chose to do with it all.
There is also apparently another "ATL Promstuck Meetup" in the works, although I implore you all to research the information these people give you very thoroughly. From what I have seen, this supposed event is not very well thought out. I absolutely had the best interests of everyone at heart and I wanted to put on an event that would definitely put the southeast on the map as one of the better subfandoms, but I'm not sure this other event has the same ideas in mind. I wanted to make this event classy, well put together, and something people could truly enjoy and remember. Please be sure not to settle for anything less.
With that being said, thank you for your support. I hope this isn't the last you hear from me. It is my only wish that you guys get the best event possible and the moment I knew I couldn't give that to you, I knew I had to hand it to people who could.
Best of wishes to everyone involved and this will not be the last you hear from this Promstuck.
Thank you all.

MTAC Prepaying!!
So this con worked out!
If you would like to prepay ($30 in cash) at MTAC in Nashville, TN this weekend, you can do so in the Artist Alley!! I am helping with my friend's table and should be there most of the time. The table can be found:
Tumblr media
It's the table with really cute hair clips and sparkly shoes and hand-made crowns!! (Stop by even if you aren't prepaying, because it's just actually really cool stuff!)
Here's how it'll work! You give me $30, your name, state, and email address (for the receipt/code) and I give you your number code on the spot + send you an email after the con with your number code again, so you absolutely have it!
If you go to the table, just ask the attendant about Promstuck, and they will either summon me or I will be the attendant and take care of you immediately. If I can't materialize immediately, my friend might be doing my job and taking care of you but it's ok I assure you he is well-trained in doing my bidding so everything will work out fine!

About the Venue & Location
Tumblr media
We are so excited to be at Grant Park in Atlanta for this event! Since people are coming from all over, we'd love to highlight some other things to do while in the city before or after Promstuck!
Keep in mind I'm only highlighting attractions that I've been to personally and can recommend or things that are super close to the venue. Feel free to look up more attractions yourself! This is more to get you started.
Grant Park
Atlanta's oldest city park, Grant Park is conveniently located off the I-20, right after the junction of the I-85 and I-75. It is just outside the city, with all of the regular Atlanta attractions being only minutes away.
The park features beautiful landscapes, ideal for photoshoots; a community pool, great for swimming and completely free if you hit the right hours; and two Pavilions, one of which will be our location for the event!
Zoo Atlanta
The Atlanta Zoo happens to be a very, very short walk from our park venue! Previous patrons have even said they can hear the lions roar from our Pavilion. There isn't even a street to cross!
Zoo Atlanta is one of only four zoos in the United States to house Giant Pandas. They also have the largest collection of gorillas and orangutans. The zoo also houses many other cool animals and you should definitely consider spending a few hours there for fun!
The Atlanta Cyclorama
The Cyclorama is a Civil War museum and houses a panoramic painting of the Battle of Atlanta, which weighs in at over 10,000 pounds and spans over 15,030 feet.
Also located right next to the park (well, IN the park, actually), it's just a short hop from our pavilion to the museum, in case there are any history buffs in your group.
Downtown Atlanta
Although you can't see the skyline from the park, the downtown city area is just a few minutes drive from the park. There are definitely incredible places to eat and stay while you're in the area. I'll be doing a separate post highlighting some awesome places for dinner and hotels.
The Georgia Aquarium
Located downtown, across from Centennial Olympic Park, the Georgia Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the world! It houses more than 100,000 sea creatures, including the exotic Whale Sharks and Beluga Whales!
It's a great place to visit if you're in the area and have the money, and my personal favorite attraction in Atlanta. Check out the group rates and make a meetup out of it!
Centennial Olympic Park
The Centennial Olympic Park was built for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games and has been open to the public ever since! It's a cool place to visit and maybe have a picnic at if you aren't ready to head over to our park yet! It's also a big landmark to use for getting to other attractions in Atlanta.

Prepayers please make sure you guys are aware of this thing!
Events in the past haven't had this issue, but we're about to run into it big time so try to do group orders or something if at all possible!
Tumblr media
A problem with PayPal payments:
PayPal changed their fee policy. Now, if we want to receive money WITHOUT being taxed, the person has to already have a PayPal account and be paying under “sending money to family or friends”. If they don’t have a PayPal, THEY get charged .59cents, or they can choose that we, the seller, get charged .59cents.
In other words: now you have to have a PayPal in order not to get charged for sending money. If you don’t have a PayPal, either you or the seller will be charged.
Unfortunately this isn’t something we can work around. We’ve lost a little more than $40 from this super lame new rule. If you can, PLEASE pay in a group with someone who ALREADY HAS A PAYPAL ACCOUNT. Or else, maybe you’re willing to take on the .59cent fee for us? :(
Thank you, and we’re really sorry for the inconvenience.

Aside from dancing, will there be any activities planned?
We shall see!
So far there aren’t any planned, but the actual hour-by-hour event schedule hasn’t been completely decided yet.
We are open to suggestions, so if anyone would like to make game or activity or event recommendations, our ask boxes are very open!

Okay, wow. I am extremely excited. I have a few questions, and I read over the previous ones to make sure that I'm not repeating anything. Thisss Promstuck shindig, (1) will it be indoors? I read that the venue is in a park? but props will be checked at the door? (2) Will there be music? (I know, it's prom style and whatnot, but I just want to be sure, hehe) (3) Need any technical or organizational help? (4) Around what time [tentative or concrete] in the day/night is ideal for this event?
Glad to hear it!
1. Nope! It’ll be in a pavilion. It has great coverage, so rain will not be an issue! Plus it’ll be June in Georgia. The worst thing we’ll face is the heat! You’ll be able to have and use your props outside of the pavilion, but once you get in the gates, you will have to leave them with our attendants.
2. Absolutely! We’re picking out a nice sound system and we’ll have a permit for it and everything, so dancing and music will definitely be happening!
3. Maybe, we’re opening up volunteer slots in April, so that we have a clear view of who can come help out and what we’ll be working with. Definitely keep an eye out for that!
4. We’re looking at 6:00 or 7:00 in the evening to start, running until 10:00 or 10:30, so we can get cleaned up and out of the park before it closes at 11:00. We’ll be making a masterpost with all this information as soon as possible!
Thanks so much for these questions! I hope you don’t mind if I post it publicly, since these might be questions that other people have.

Ticketing for Promstuck is here! And you have options!
Put under the cut because it's lengthy, but please read the post before sending payments or your money could get lost!
Paypal
To prepay via Paypal, go to the "Send Money" link on your home screen. You should fill out your first form to look like this:
Tumblr media
After you click continue, you'll be able to review your transaction details, pick your method of payment, and choose to send an email to me. Fill out the "Email to recipient" sorta like this:
Tumblr media
After that, just hit "Send Money" and voila! Ticket purchased, safely and swiftly. You should receive a confirmation email nigh instantaneously from Paypal, and your ticket number should arrive from me within a week. If it takes longer than a week for me to email your ticket number, please email me and make sure the payment went through. It could be a simple email mixup. Remember, your ticket number(s) will be sent to the email provided in the "Email to recipient" form.
Concealed Cash via Mail
To purchase tickets via mail, please send an email to [email protected] with the subject "Concealed Cash" and I will send you a mailing address to send your cash to.
This is very important!! Make sure that there is no way of seeing the cash through the envelope, when held up in light or otherwise. Use cardstock to wrap the bills in or another method of hiding the bills. As long as people cannot tell that you are mailing cash.
When you send me your payment, be sure to include your name and email address.
Cash or Card in Person
Myself and some of my assistants will be attending several events around the Southeast area between now and Promstuck. There will be more information released as these events come up, but if you can get to us in person at these events, you'll be able to prepay with cash or card at these events and receive your ticket number on the spot.
The following are confirmed events where Promstuck reps will be able to accept prepays:
MTAC in Nashville, Tennessee from March 29 to March 31
ATLstuck's 4/13 PiedmontStuck 2 in Atlanta, Georgia on April 13
More events and locations to come!
At the Door
At the door of Promstuck, you will be able to purchase tickets for $40. You will be waiting in a line, with cutting rights being given to adult guardians who must buy their tickets at the door anyway. If you are paying at the door, you will be able to do so with cash only, with the following regulations.
You must have your cash in an envelope. When you get to the ticketing table, a Promstuck rep will open the envelope and count to confirm how much is inside, and then you will be allowed admittance. This process takes twice as long as simply receiving your wristband and walking in. Please try your best to prepay.
Buy Several Tickets at Once
You are welcome to do group orders through Paypal or otherwise, but be sure to include separate information for each individual person. If you exceed the character limit on Paypal, send me a separate email giving the cut off information. Each person will receive their ticket number individually to the email they provide, so giving me everyone's name and email is VERY IMPORTANT.
Guardians
If your guardian wishes to attend Promstuck to oversee the event, we welcome them to do so, but must ask that they purchase a $10 Guardian ticket at the door. Guardians will be given priority in the line, but we ask that they follow the same guidelines when paying with cash. The Guardian ticket allows them seating at a set-aside Guardian table along with free range at the Refreshments bar.
Donations
If you would like to donate to Promstuck, while also receiving a ticket, just send in more than the ticket price! If what you are donating is more than two ticket prices, but you only want one, be sure to write "Donation" in the comment section of your Paypal checkout or write a note if you're mailing the money in. If you want to donate, but can't go, that's really awesome too! Just send in the money and write "Donation - no ticket" in the comments!
FAQ
Why the upcharge in June?
In June, most things will have been bought and paid for. We don't need that much money in June and we certainly don't need it on the day of. If you want a great event and a healthy wallet, buy your ticket early!
What name do I send with my payment? Is a nickname fine?
Good question! Please send us your legal first and last name at the very least! This is to verify tickets in case your number gets stolen or there is a big issue. Include a nickname or chosen name if you have one, but do not substitute it for your legal first name. For added security, you can also include your Tumblr URL but this is completely optional!
What does the ticket fee cover?
The ticket fee gets you a wristband that allows you entrance to the event. You will have full access to the refreshments table and dance floor all night! In addition, our photographer will probably be taking cool pictures while the event is going on and you will at least have some pictures of your costume if you didn't want to book a private shoot with her!
Why do Guardians have to pay?
We're having an open refreshments table! Food and drinks cost a bunch and we would hate for people to go without, or to eat without paying. We'd like the Guardians accompanying their kids to be able to keep their strength up through the night as much as the other attendees. It also covers a special surprise and seat at the Guardian table.
That's about it!
Remember to follow the Promstuck 2013 blog and track the #promstuck 2013 tag for more news, updates, and exclusive information!
Happy prepaying!

You mentioned that tickets would be Momocon, but is there a way people who aren't attending Momocon can purchase them?
The thing that happened with the convention ticketing is, I didn’t want to start charging people any money before I knew I didn’t have to refund it all later.
So until I really get that date and venue as concrete as possible, I’m not opening up ticketing, at conventions or otherwise, which is what has been happening at Momocon and now probably MTAC as well. So don’t worry, even Momocon attendees didn’t get to purchase tickets yet.
So really, all ticketing should start in the next two weeks. This will more than likely happen through Paypal. There might be some opportunities for people to purchase tickets at their local meets, especially the 4:13 meets happening all over, but I’m still working on setting this up!

MomoCon Status:
I sincerely apologize, but due to a few bumps in the road, prepaying in cash will not be available at MomoCon.
There is a chance that prepaying in cash will be available at MTAC, but I do not feel comfortable accepting cash payments from guests until all of the kinks are worked out.
I do apologize for this inconvenience.

You mentioned it would be a public place and I was wondering: Will we be able to go grey/with horns for trolls? I know it's early to the event, but i have a lot to pay for and no stable income so I'd really like to know now so I can start preparing!
Yes! If you want to do horns, absolutely go for it. Paint is allowed, just, seal it. And be aware it will probably be hot and you might get sweaty. And if anyone ruins someone else’s dress or suit or whatever, there’ll be hell to pay. Just be smart about it?
It’ll be sort of private in that, the public won’t be allowed in our area, but it’s an open park so they can see you. As long as we don’t look like we’re summoning Satan I’n sure we’ll be fine.
It is totally not shameful to do a more casual formal cosplay without the body paint and big accessories. Whatever makes your life easier!

Is it alright to bring something to eat for everyone? Like, say, a cake? Or will food be provided?
Food of some sort will be provided.
I’m still looking into good caterers that would fit well with the event.
The amount of people we’ll have will be ranging from 100-250, give or take, so I’m not entirely sure there’s a good way for people to bring something special that will feed everyone. I’m not going to say no right now, but it’s definitely not necessary. If you can bring a cake that feeds upwards of 200 people, absolutely be my guest, but it might be a bit of an undertaking and I wouldn’t want people to not get something cool and special because there isn’t enough to go around.
But thank you so much for even offering that is very nice of you!

I'm going as Jake, and I wanted to know if bringing prop pistols would be a problem at this event? Orange tips and all. Thanks!
Ahhh, I’m going to, for now, say maybe leave them at home?
I’d need to speak with the park officials, but since the venue is a public place that may not be accustomed with those kinds of props, I’d say just don’t risk it.
With recent issues in the States, I think a lot of people are paranoid and I’d just rather not chance it by saying everyone can bring firearm props. Photoshoots aside, I think they might even get in the way of activities and stuff.
Also, if weapon props are being brought in, we’d have to check all of them at the door, just to be safe, and that would be time consuming.
So, for right now, until I think this over more, no firearms props. Really shitty fake katanas should be fine and long as they’re like, styrofoam or something.
Thanks for asking because I really hadn't thought about it until you brought it up!

What kind of a turnout will you be expecting? :)
My ideal would be 200<.
If we can get a full 300, that would be cool, but I’m always more pessimistic (well, realistic). 300 is the maximum we can have at the venue.
The venue only requires over 75 people, and I know for a fact I can get that many.
Once March rolls around, and the Facebook event and prepaying and RSVP system goes up, I’ll have a way better headcount.
