Hello guys, girls, and mistletoe sprigs! With our friends from across the pond coming to join us this holiday season, Hogwarts is hosting an interschool quidditch match! This will be comprised of an all-star team made from the best players this school has to offer against Ilvermorny's own all-star team. Winning comes with bragging rights and the ability to never let the other team forget their crushing defeat, which is why we absolutely have to win. The game will take place December 13th.

Hello everyone! For this special Quidditch game, I am asking anyone interested in having a character play in this game to message us through the main so we may add them to the roster. For now, we are limiting these slots to one character per writer. However, if interest is low, we will extend that to two characters per writer, but no more.

My dear fellow students, I couldn't be happier to announce a Gryffindor win, with Penelope Borgin catching the snitch! The final score was a lovely 340-210, in favor of the lions, of course. It was certainly tight there for awhile, with the Ravenclaw team putting up a valiant effort that made me briefly fear for my broom's safety, we did eventually pull ahead with that phenomenal catch by Borgin. The broken wrist I was dealt has healed nicely, despite a truly horrific potion and I've got it on good authority everyone's arses have survived their hours-long stint on the brooms.

Calling all sports fans, the next Quidditch game of the season is coming up on Wednesday, November 22nd. Featuring the incredible talent of yours truly, Mister James Potter, it will be lions vs eagles, so don't forget to don your best gear and come out to support your team! If your team isn't playing, I am always accepting more fans in my section.

our very own james potter would seem the perfect fit for this, but i've actually got my sights set on sirius black and dorcas meadows for this one. black's little descent into the melting pot is sure to cause a bit of a tiff from anybody that gives a shit, and dorcas, well...that speaks for itself, no? but we've been warned to keep our eyes on regulus black, as well, so there's no really knowing where our attention should be laying. so let's just focus on everyone, no?

it has been reported that yesterday's incident at gringott's bank was indeed an act of terror performed by the rising group known as the DEATH EATERS, the ministry confirmed early this morning. the attack resulted in three fatalities, two muggle born witches and a half-blood wizard. the identities of those killed are being withheld for the time being. the daily prophet stated that the ministry of magic has extended its sincerest reassurance that it is working diligently to ensure the safety of its governed people. minister of magic harold minchum commented, "our ministry remains hopeful and determined, and urges those who are willing and capable to step up and protect those who need it most. this is a time to stand in arms with our communities and show our support to our own, regardless of blood." more updates to come.

as of this morning, october 27th, the daily prophet has reported that gringott's bank has been shut down until further notice after an "incident regarding the security of the bank." while details are not to be released at this time regarding the nature of this incident, it has been reported that there were at least two fatalities - two muggle born witches and a third wizard of uknown blood status. the hogwarts howl will continue to update you on the matter as more information is released.

after a grueling game between the hufflepuffs and slytherins, our first champions of the season are the huffepuffs! despite slytherins best efforts, huffepuff managed to score a total of 510 points to slytherins 460. the match resulted in minimal injuries, the worst being regulus black's bludger to the shoulder, thanks to none other than rodolphus lestrange's slow broom skills. though if you were to ask some people, we reckon mr. lestrange knew exactly where that bludger was heading. mr. black was flying low to the ground at impact, and tumbled to the ground towards the end of the match. while the young slytherin did manage to catch the snitch in the end, it wasn't quite enough - they still fell behind a great deal of points. a rocky start to slytherin's season, but there are plenty of opportunities left to redeem themselves. let's hope they take them. huffepuff has been awarded 50 house points. slytherin has been awared 25 housepoints.
